Caffè del Tasso è un locale storico nel centro di Bergamo Alta ed oltre ad avere una gradevolissima location grazie alla bella piazza dove è situato, ha nel menù una Polenta con i Funghi Porcini da far girare la testa. Dovete assolutamente provarla se passate da Bergamo. Personale gentile e cordiale. Ci tornerò sicuramente.

Ristorante caratteristico nel centro di Bergamo Alta. Sembra di essere nel foyer di un teatro. Ci hanno proposto come piatto del giorno un ottimo risotto di porcini. Il personale è stato molto attento ai miei problemi alimentari (celiachia).

Even with their spectacular location & their historic reputation, caffè del Tasso authentically shines brightest thanks to its excellent service and delicious food. In 2025 I was there 6 times and every time was equally tasty, fun, and welcoming. Gianluca in the front of the house, Rose behind the scenes (and the bar) plus Chiara and frankly all the wait staff make every visit feeling like coming home for a meal with the family. Highly recommend Caffè del Tasso for your every occasion and taste. Looking forward to returning myself in 2026!

Came in the morning, very crowded inside but we sit outside. Very nice spot with great coffee and waitresses who not only speak English but also know the history and know how to do a small talk. Food was tasty, apple pie was moist, can’t complain over tost with cheese and ham. The biggest attribute was location.

A nice place to have a coffee or a meal right at the main square, right in the centre of the upper city of Bergamo. We sat there for about 45 minutes to have a coffee before taking the Funicolaria to go down, so I cannot comment on the food. Coffee was very good and the staff was polite. Service was fast and the price was normal. 5 stars, recommended!

Great restaurant in a perfect spot. We had a beautiful meal of pasta, polenta with mushrooms and pineapple cake. Everything was delicious, the service was fast and the location is superb. Outdoor seating is shaded and very much in the center of old Town. The menu looks fantastic and I am definitely coming back when in bergamo. I heard the place can get very busy but fortunately this wasn't a case for us at all.

Locale storico a Bergamo alta in piazza Vecchia (dal 1476) che prende il nome dalla vicina statua del poeta Torquato Tasso. Ho assaggiato delle specialità locali come i Casoncelli alla Bergamasca e la torta del Donizetti. Cibo di ottima qualità preparato bene.. Bistrot affascinante in una delle piazze medioevali più belle del nord italia. Ottimi Casoncelli, brasato e polenta e polpo morbidissimo. La carta è contenuta in due fogli, ma i whisky spaziano lungo tutto il bar da ardbeg ai bourbon. Per serata di team o cena a due con i tavoli in piazza.

Il nome e la posizione bastano per capire dove ti trovi. In Piazza Vecchia, nel cuore di Città Alta è lo storico bar di Bergamo, che offre anche la ristorazione. Ambiente classico, accogliente, con molti ricordi di visite importanti alle pareti, offre un menù non esteso ma completo (vegetariano, carne, pesce) che pesca principalmente nella tradizione bergamasca. Presentazione curata, prodotti di qualità, cantina principalmente italiana con una buona proposta, servizio bene. Per me una valida alternativa alle proposte ormai tanto turistiche in Città Alta.

Locale storico nella altrettanto storica Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo Alta. Menù semplice e piatti convincenti con un plauso alla polenta servita con funghi porcini o con fonduta di formaggio fuso e scaglie di tartufo. Entrambe buonissime! Prezzi nella media della location e nota di merito al personale cordiale e veloce nel servizio. Consigliato vivamente per chi vuole provare la vera polenta bergamasca e non solo.

Location molto bella complice i tavolini in piazza vecchia in Bergamo Alta. Servizio ordinato nonostante fosse sabato, molto buone le pietanze. Siamo stati attirati dalla partecipazione del ristorante ai vari programmi di cucina, per questo ci aspettavamo qualcosa di entusiasmante. Però tutto sommato buonissimo ed onesto.

Abbiamo consumato un aperitivo presso questo locale organizzato da DoEatBetter. Il tavolo era prenotato e ci siamo accomodati all’istante anche se il locale era pienissimo. Il cameriere ha preso subito l’ordinazione e ci han serviti molto velocemente. Il vino rosso offerto era molto buono, tipico della bergamasca. Aperitivo molto easy con qualche stuzzichino (olive, arachidi, patatine e salatini al sapore di pizza). Il locale storico è molto bello ma pecca nella pulizia. Purtroppo i servizi non erano all’altezza. Peccato.

Centro del centro storico. Abbiamo preso menù degustazione. Il primo Casoncelli ( tipo ravioli di carne conditi burro e salvia con pancetta) a seguire polenta coi funghi. Buonissima e particolare ma un po' pochina addirittura direi più funghi che polenta. Il dolce Donizetti (due ostie di una ciambella tipo torta margherita con topping) non mi sembra da ristorante. Potrebbe essere servito forse con il thè. Va bene la tradizione ma a Bergamo nel 2021 non mancano dolci altrettanto locali ma più invitanti.

Locale nel cuore della Città Alta di Bergamo. Molto curato, personale gentile e cortese. Abbiamo preso un tagliere di salumi, con verdure crude e gnocco fritto, casoncelli bergamaschi, guancia di manzo con polenta e porcini, il tutto accompagnato con Barbera al bicchiere e, infine, un semifreddo e un loro dolce tipico detto il Doninzetti. Direi tutto molto buono, forse i casoncelli un pò troppo burro ma, comunque, buoni. Consigliato.

Ottimo locale. Cenato all'aperto in piazza Vecchia: meraviglioso! Location top, cucina molto buona, servizio forse leggermente lento. Sicuramente ci sono punti migliorabili, ma resta tutto molto buono. Lo consiglio. Ci tornerò sicuramente per provare la polenta.

Servizio di ottima qualità, birra fredda come deve essere, ambiente molto piacevole in mezzo alla piazza centrale. Tagliere buono però mi aspettavo più abbondante per la cifra pagata. La pizza era terribile, non ostante pagare 15 euro per una baby pizza, sembrava quelle di scatola che se acquistano dal supermercato. Non avrei mai pensato di mangiare una pizza così terribile in Italia. Non ho mangiato altri piati per giudicare, spero che non siano come la pizza. Non andrei a fare il test di assaggio.

The food was good but the waiters were not cheering. Customer satisfaction should come first. There were 4 people there and I asked for 4 menus and they brought only 3 and told us to share them, They acted like it was our job to make them satisfied not them. They are not giving free meals, we are paying for everything so they have to make us happy. We felt their eyes on us. I believe they have been serving there for about 500 years but they haven’t got many options to eat and non-alcoholic drinks for the ones who don’t drink alcohol. Overall food and location are good but the people who worked there aren’t nice. I hope they change their attitude before the place’s reputation is over because they are treating their customers like enormous.

The service was good but unfortunately the food was less than ordinary. The ravioli tasted store bought and was covered in the fatty part of bacon. Follia. Abbiamo preso 3 caffè e 3 acque naturali (bottiglie da 0,25 cl che vabbe…. nemmeno un bicchiere) e abbiamo pagato la bellezza di 13,50€. Capisco la posizione ma nemmeno a Milano costa cosi tanto un caffè. Da evitare Rispondo alla risposta: Il menù probabilmente se l’è dimenticato perché a noi nessuno ha portato nulla. È arrivato direttamente il cameriere a prendere l’ordine. E comunque questo non toglie che i prezzi siano folli, Cordiali saluti.

Infatti, stavamo mangiando un gelato nella terrazza accanto quando la mia bambina (che ha a penna lasciati il pannolino) ha detto che aveva bisogno di andare in bagno. Ho chiedato permesso di entrare in questo restaurante perche avevo fretta. Il cameriere ancora vedendo que era per la bambina, mi ha invitato ad andare in un bagno pubblico a pagamento, per il quale sono dovuta correre, prendere la borsa, attraversare di corsa la piazza per pagare e in quello dove stavo per entrare mia figli si ha fatto la pipì addosso. Capisco che il tuo bagno sia per i tuoi clienti, ma non far entrare un bambino è un diritto fondamentale.
