Best hero I’ve ever had. I ordered the Felicia eggplant, mozzarella and roasted peppers. I would have taken a photo but I couldn’t stop eating it. It was $14 but well worth it. They need more people working there, service kinda slow, don’t go during peak lunch hours.. one of the workers was complaining about how many people were coming in so late in the day. Hey pal, get another job or shut up and make the sandwich. Nobody wants to hear you complain.

This is a review but also a thank you to Ralph at G&R. After having the worst week of my entire life, running on absolutely no sleep after work, I came outside from G&R (admittedly having double parked to pick up my sandwich) to a $100 ticket on my car. This was just kind of the last straw for my awful week, and I burst into tears. Ralph came over to make sure I was ok, gave me a hug, and then proceeded to pull my ticket out of my pocket and tell me he was paying it. I don’t even have the words for how thankful I am, Ralph. I make minimum wage as a medical resident working 90 hours a week and could truly barely afford this ticket. You were the only bright spot in a totally dark week. I am so deeply grateful to you. Also, to make this an actual review — my sandwich was really delicious. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, the bread was the right amount of crispy and chewy, and for what you’re paying, you basically get 2 meals worth of food. G&R has earned a lifelong customer and fan. I highly, 100/10, with my whole heart, recommend this deli.

This Italian sandwich spot is truly one of a kind. Great service, a welcoming atmosphere, and an even more delicious selection of homemade food and sandwiches. I got the Chicken G&R, and it was amazing the chicken cutlet was perfectly seasoned the Italian way, paired with fresh mozzarella and flavorful roasted red peppers on a seeded hero. I enjoyed it so much that I’m already looking forward to my next trip back!

I am a connoisseur of Italian heroes/subs, and I must say that this is in the top 3 of all time. Nice thick sammich, super fresh and tasty bread, high-quality meats and cheeses. Line was long but moved reasonably fast. I parked my bicycle outside and nobody bothered it.

Place was great. Took my wife and son there. And I must say staff was friendly. And the owner was very nice. I showed up around 4:40 ish. Not to far from closing time and they didn’t treat me any different from anyone else coming in from early pm. I got there famous Italian ice cream cone sandwich. And it was very good. Coming from Staten Island I can honestly say this place was worth the travel and would highly recommend it to anyone who’s in the Bronx area. Trust me this place is worth the stop.

If you are in the Morris Park section of the Bronx, I highly recommend going to G&R Deli at 1928 Williamsbridge Road. Friendly and courteous staff, Caroline was amazing making Jonathan a small Italian Ice Cream cone sandwich, which was out of this world. The sandwiches were packed heavily with whatever you want. What a friendly group of people in this terrific Italian deli. I had the viral meatball cone and it was delicious! I drove over an hour to taste this viral sensation and it was worth it. Delicious (get in get out) Italian delicatessen. My fiancée had their famous meatball cone, and I had their G&R chicken cutlet with fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers. On the way out, we grabbed a pint of their cold antipasto. We went a little after 3 pm, and the line was outside. Dress warm on cold days as you will most definitely be standing outside for some of your wait unless you call to order and pick up. It's one of the best sandwiches in the Bronx. The cone meatball sub, their homemade marinara, and vodka sauce is incredible. We recently had the sausage peppers, and onions were delicious. I love the sun-dried peppers on the God Father sandwich with extra glazed balsamic is next level. We recommend getting the fresh manicotti and raviolis to take home. I love G&R! IYKY

This may be the best Italian American deli in all of New York - and there’s a lot of competition here. The incredible sandwich, amazing tuna salad, home made pasta sauces and sausages plus a great selection of very well priced imported charcuterie and cheeses match meet the essence of the Bronx.

FINALLY!!! So glad I got to finally eat here! Thank you Joe Rogan for the recommendation! Everything was amazing! There was a small line but I only waited about 10 minutes and then 5 minutes from actual order to receiving my sandwheeh! Man if the pics don't show you the size and how packed this baby is then i don't know what to tell you! Come by and get some! As a New Yorker I can say this is above and beyond any other delis sandwiches! It was not greasy/oily, not spicey, not salty,...the flavors were so good together! I like to stop in this deli every time iIm up in the Bronx working. I make the trip from Staten Island. Although SI has a lot of great places to eat! GR, IS EXCELLENT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! I was up here today. And I had the meatballs in the cup instead of the cone. A very clever idea and they are excellent meatballs. This sweet pepper's on top are a very nice touch. That shows that they care in my opinion. The other heroes on the menu are also very good. And a decent size.You will not walk away hungry.

I got one complaint food. Excellent service good but when you buy something by the pound they should put the sticker on. I bought two irons. It came out to $30. One was four pieces of rib and something called carbonado. Some kind of eggplant. It came out to $30. Couldn't even see how much I paid per pound. That was the only complaint but overall good

Love, GnR deli . Food is fresh. Sandwiches are sizable absolutely worth going there. Prices are average but the food is really great. Sandwiches are all made on excellent Italian bread. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

Saw this deli on Facebook. Drove 4.5 hours for lunch, visited the nearby Beautiful Bronx zoo then returned for dinner. With the four of us, we tried 8 different deli sandwiches. All were very good, found the chicken cutlets to be the best. The bread was fresh and delicious. The New York deli experience I expected.

Even though the meatball sandwich is good, the star of the show is the Godfather. This place is a true hidden gem. The staff is super friendly and a pleasure to deal with, especially the owner and her brother ( sweethearts ) If you are anywhere in New York, make sure you try this place. Saw this place on Instagram and it did not disappoint. Came an hour away from Manhattan to try the Bronx Godfather. I was met with amazing service. Everyone was so friendly from start to finish. Owner found out we were from Florida and gave us a free sampler of meatballs (omg they were next level) Most of all the food was straight up amazing and worthy of the effort to get here. 5 stars just aren’t enough.

Easily the best hero I've had in the Bronx. Actually maybe ever. The Italian combo is legit. The quality of ingredients is top tier. The staff is amazing! You can tell they are in there to get people in and out. There was not a customer who walked in that wasn't asked if they were being helped already. I was impressed with the grocery items you could purchase from pastas to Italian desserts, to the jar peppers. They had a small freezer with premade Italian sausages and pasta dishes (stuffed shells, gnocchi, ravioli). I had to mentally note to myself for my next catered event that I want to order from here. This is definitely a must visit/eat. This food was made with love.

Long line put so worth it. Ordered the meatball sandwich which was aaaamazing! The sandwich is so big and juicy, they place it in a cup. They have a small table and 2 chairs at the entrance but other than that, no place to sit and eat. We ate in our car. Street parking available with pay. The meter takes coins and cards. Police active in the area so you can't just park without pay. Highly recommend if in the area. 4 sandwiches + a side of pulled pork + a side of mozzarella cheese + 4 drinks=$60 dollars. Not bad considering we had food left over

Great Italian Deli. I pass by them daily, it is authentic Italian food & ingredients. Good portion. My daughter & I had come during a Saturday lunch. I limit myself during the week to once per week. The best old school Italian deli with top notch sandwiches in the area HANDS DOWN. You can't go wrong with the Bronx Godfather (or any other Joe Rogan sandwich for that matter). I was sooo excited to try this place literally flew in from LA JUST TO VISIT . Sad to say the service was bad dealt with a younger chubby guy with black hair and he was so rude and didn’t listen correctly at all to my order I went in purposely with the mindset that I was gonna order multiple sandwiches and when I started to order, he proceeded to tell me that’s a lot and why do I need all this if some of the items were similar it was the craziest experience I didn’t order everything I wanted he basically got the sandwiches threw them on the counter. Other people were looking so I knew it just wasn’t me being a tourist wondering why I was being treated this way, so it was just a sad experience. I was so excited to visit but being treated that way was just not a welcoming feeling.

I came here for The famous Italian so I could eat it home while watching my Jets lose. This place is kind of small with a few gents behind the counter making old school delicious heroes. The sandwich was huge and worth the price. It was pretty tasty and loaded with cold cuts, fresh mozzarella , peppers , and the works. They have other offerings Is like to try . Some guys on the line (yes there is and will be a line) were raving over the chicken cutlets. I'll probably return because there's a lot on the menu. But you can't go wrong here. Oh and yes the Jets blew it again. I saved half for Monday's lunch.🫤

Good if you're local and walking distance, but definitely not worth the drive across the Bronx. Meatballs are meh. Mozzarella needs salt. I was excited about this place, but now I'm disappointed.

This was an exciting place when we see it on sociaimmediately and try our first time ordering meatballs on platter was great and simple. Now, there's restrictions that you cannot order meatballs unless you have it in the bread. I saw this place on Tik Tok and decided to give it a shot! The video that went viral did not match the energy in the store. The employees were rude, no greeting , no enthusiasm, and trust me I get it I’m sure I was the 8000th customer that came in asking for the Tik Tok icreceam cone but i would expect them to show a little enthusiasm and be happy people are visiting them from all different states because of a video that went viral. Instead of this becoming a continuous stop for me every-time I come visit my mom in the Bronx, this will be the last time I come here. One thing i will say is the food tasted good, but I’m a big person on customer service and sadly you won’t get that here. Presentation was poor as well. Couldn’t even tell it was an “icecream cone”. Also wasn’t a big fan of the fact it was super hot in there and they had food on the counter, that who knows how long it was there with flies floating around it. Save the trip and go to Little Italy. There are so many better Italian delis down there or better yet just make the “Italian icecream cone” at home. It’s literally meatballs in a gutted roll.

The meatball was good however that’s about it. Ordered the chicken g&r and that was the chicken. It was so gross, chewy and not fresh. Definitely not worth the drive.

I ordered meatball cone which was 👏 amazing. BUT CHICKEN PARM SUCKED ITS WHAT SMASHED SO THIN 80 % OF THE CUTLET WAS 1/8 THICK MOSTLY BREAD CRUMBS.SUPER DRY ALMOST NO SAUCE AND LITTLE CHEESE.

These google reviews should have zero star ratings that is my rating don't bother place is over hyped and wanted to purchase 4 meatball sandwiches but wanted the breads on side not all together and the worker said he won't and doesn't do that and his explanations made absolutely no sense at all I am the customer which I am paying it's not a free service and he is telling me how I want my sandwich don't bother going there waste of time and gas do yourself the favor I have gone to many pops and mom's establishment that are way better and cater to there customers

Walked in at 452pm. No one noticed me and then a gentleman came from the back asking if anyone helped me. The older Spanish guy turned around and said we are closed. I came all the way from Jersey to try their famous sandwiches just for you to close early and turn around and say we are closed with a smile. I won’t be coming back to try it and won’t recommend it to any of my family members living in the Bronx’s either.

Waited about 20 - 30 minutes in line to order. I wanted to see if the hype was real. I bought the Italian combo. Not worth the wait. The hero bread needs to be toasted or baked longer, too spongy. The fresh made in house mozzarella is tasteless and dried out. The one glove technique doesn't work. They stay touching your food with the glove less hand. Why don't they have a cashier to handle all payments so the men can keep making orders, instead of stopping to take a payment after each order. The line would move faster. I'm Just imagining if Katz's deli did that same system. The biggest hype on this place is the line out the door, not the sandwich. Sorry I wanted to like this place.

Bad service. We were treated like criminals because they left the sandwiches on the counter , took our money and never came back so we tought we paid. They had to run after us outside because we didn't pay the other one. Next time put a menu for your sandwiches with the prices so we know how much we're paying for. We then came back and excused ourselves for the miscommunication and honest mistake and the cook greeted us by swearing at us in Italian. Plus, their place could use a little dusting with their past due hanging sausages on the ceiling by the cash. Not very appetizing.

I had the spicy caroline sandwich which was great at the start until i noticed part of the chicken was incredibly salty to the point where I couldn’t even finish it. Sucks, as it was great to start but the high amount of salt ruins it.

It sucks because I love this place and have had nothing but great experiences time and time again. Today I asked if I could have the ingredients that comes on the Italian ice cream cone sandwich but on a sub and they told me no the only way I can get it is in the ice cream cone sandwich so did I want that? I said no I really wanted it on a sub. I wanted it on a sub because it was being shared. I feel like this isn’t an inclusive experience because what if it was for a small child. Im not buying a whole cone for them to eat and would prefer for it to be something much more manageable for their small hands. I’m very surprised.

I went to deli for the first time a week ago. I ordered 2 sandwiches, food was really good. I was impressed! I went back again today, the line was out the door. I waited for almost 45 minutes, I was looking forward for the same good sandwiches of last time. But when I got home I got disappointed as I soon I unwrapped my sandwiche. Go when they open in the morning. You show up driving from many miles away for the meatball cone and you get there at 4:30pm they’ll turn u away and say they don’t have food left for you. So what’s the point of closing at 5? If you’re going to turn away customers for not having food. Make it make sense
