The service is fantastic. You get to personally know the staff AND learn a different language through friendlessness and care. The staff is always very happy, kind and prompt. The same amigos everyday! I usually get a latté or peppermint tea with a breakfast bagel: eggs, cheese, onions, tomatoes and pepper jack cheese. And its hour and delicious everytime. The pastries are fresh everyday and the display is beautiful. I could go on and on! 💞💞💞💞💞😍😍😍

The two times I've been here, the wifi has been terrible. That aside, the decor is nice, it's not too loud, and the food is pretty good. Nice place for a coffee chat with a friend or if you really gotta focus writing that essay

Their food and drinks are good. Coffee is good. They have a cute upper balcony of seating. Located very close to campus. Often has students studying inside.

OG style cafe across the street from campus with good food, decent coffee and a nice space to hang out. Subtracting a star for all the flies (eww) and the radio - spend a dollar and get commercial-free radio, please.

Good coffee and sandwiches, especially for take-away, but there are tons of flies everywhere. I stopped buying pastries from here because I started noticing flies in the display case on nearly every visit. Would be worthwhile to invest in a door for the display case so it’s not always left open.

a great place to study and get food/coffee. the baristas are always super friendly and their espresso is top-notch. only thing is i wish they had better lighting--it gets quite dark inside after sunset.

Stopped by at this local Berkeley cafe while waking around the campus. It’s a good study or work spot with two floor seating. Unfortunately no wifi. I wasn’t very impressed by their offering but the service was great. Do’s; bagel with cream cheese and lox for mere ~$5 and orange juice. Don’ts; matcha - only tasted sugar.

Its definitely not the best coffee, but if you need a quick fix it'll do the job and get you caffeinated. My mocha had an odd burnt aftertaste and was suspiciously gritty, so I can't reccomend it. The cafe interior is really pretty though, and I'm pretty sure it's been around forever. There's a spacious upstairs and downstairs area, both are always clean, and definitely good for studying.

Nice Cafe, with a decent sandwich menu and pastries. The focus is on coffee, and there are a lot of computer users. Popular especially with college students, it is in a row of stores right next to the campus. The atmosphere is good, with brick walls and a balcony. Marble top tables are not always steady. The people are friendly, and the noise level is low.

Great coffee, lots of sitting area but can get a bit crowded during the day. Location is perfect for quick meetup with a friend since it's so close to campus. orders come pretty quick, especially the coffee! They'll start making it before your card even has a chance to finish processing!

Had a large Mocha. It was what you would expect from an average cafe. Not cheap at $5 but average with average taste. They have a decent selection of other drinks and food items. Given extra stars for the ample seating and some available power outlets. Not the quietest place but few cafes are. If you dont need extra quiet to concentrate it could work for studying, either way it's good for coffee chats.

Very busy place. Difficult to find seating. College students hang out long past their meals which is fine for non-peak but should be regulated during meal times. The soup was tasty but cold.

Very 2nd wave coffee shop. The vibes are good and there’s a ton of seating which makes it a great place to study (the wifi is spotty tho). The coffee is just okay but they have like zero vegan food options plus the only nondairy milks they have are soy and almond (no oat).

The Chai latte I got was good, but I didn't like that they pressed the sandwiches. It ruined the foccacia bread. It was pretty pricey, too. Edit: Came back today around 9pm, and got turned away, saying it was take-out only because they apparently close at 9pm. Although, I couldn't find a sign anywhere. Bummer. Edit: Tried to do homework here, and the wifi was garbage. Couldn't connect to the internet, so I couldn't write my essay. :(

The drinks are pretty bad. The chai latte was way too milky, and had lots of undissolved sweetener at the bottom. The espresso in the cappuccino was bitter and very burnt. The sweet spinach/peach smoothie was okay, but it was literally just spinach blended with peach juice. Furthermore, the tables don't get cleaned enough; they're often dirty with crumbs and drink stains from previous customers. Gets an extra star for being a good study environment though! Music isn't too loud and the ambience is relaxing. Just be aware that it can get pretty busy during the day. Also, the prices are pretty reasonable as far as Berkeley goes. Tldr: Come for a chill place to study or meet people. Don't expect the drinks to be any good.

Bad place to study. Fairly loud party music/radio. Weak wifi at times. A fair number of spots have no electric outlets. Some chairs are church benches, which are horribly uncomfortable after a while. Could use some cleaning. If you came to socialize, then it’s not a bad. Just bad to get any work done.

He actually didn't even know what kind of beans they were or which company/roaster supplies them. He literally said "I don't know" when I asked. If you are a coffee enthusiast or even just care slightly about what type of coffee you are drinking I highly suggest avoiding this place.

This place was awful. Service was surly, the coffee was cold, and when I asked about wifi the guy just pointed to a framed sign with network and pw info. After signing I get a page that says the wifi was turned off for lack of payment. When I told the the guy this he just shrugged and said "Too bad." I thought I was in a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode.

The slowest latte I have ever had - waited for 10 mins... The staffs are not well trained. they don't make drinks in the order they were received, totally a messed up behind the counter. And they are not Milano! very rude staff. don't bother! Go for nicer service anywhere else.

this review has nothing to do with the food, but about the fact that during the shooting at a near by college, there were students inside this cafe who pleaded with the people in this cafe to let them stay inside because they didn't know if it was safe to leave (due to the literal shooter on their campus) and guess what they did? they kicked them out... literally forced them to leave the cafe while they were fearing for their own safety and the safety of others, Milano if you delete my review i will come back and make 10 times more.. this is pathetic and unacceptable

That was my first and last visit to this place. I don’t get how this place has any decent reviews. Food was fine but the cafe is full of flies and it smells bad. Place seems like it hasn’t been cleaned for a few weeks. Tables were sticky, there are puddles of idk what on the floor and once again, flies everywhere. Guy working there was nice.

Saw the shooting thing and sympathizing with people. Food is a pathetic 1 out of 5 anyway. Large space and most staff are nice when there are no active shooters roaming around the campus.
