I went at 8:10PM (20 minutes before closing), and they treated me so kindly and let me stay and eat past the closing time. I had a great experience because not only was the food delicious, so was the service, ambiance, and treatment. The food is 100% made with love and you can taste it.
This place became more than just a restaurant for me. I’ve been eating here at least once a week for the past 3 years and the food never disappoints. You can tell that menu item has been perfected and is always made with love. The owners are incredible people, and I know that coming here for lunch or dinner will always make my day. Thank you Khendu and Gopal for being a second family away from home and making incredible food all these years
A hole in the wall place with great food. Service was slow, place was very small and had seating for maybe 10 people. Jhol Momoa were really good and mango lassi was likely the best ive have outside india. Biryani was the highlight of the meal. Be patient with the service, worth the wait.
It is a cute little place with a good number of crowd even during their closing time. We ordered chicken jhol momo, veg jhol momo, paneer chilli and chicken chowmein. Everything was very tasty. Jhol was very authentic in taste. Loved the chowmein too! I also want to share a very sweet gesture of the owner. We had a very good conversation while in the restaurant. And after knowing that it’s one of our friend’s birthday, she also gave us complimentary mango lassi. I will definitely love to go to this place again next time I am in Berkeley.
Modern Indian food. AMAZING. The food is out of this world. A hidden unassuming gem of the bay area. Rich flavors. Tucked away deep by the University of California Berkeley. I don't think the students realize the gravity of the people who cook this caliber of food in this outta the way restuarant. Great food. Great people. Somebody said they can never eat butter chicken any where else again- I completely AGREE.
A tiny place tucked away into a somewhat forgotten food court on the North side of campus, Momos is a gem. Not sure how I have never been here but I was craving some dumplings and spice. The prices are a little high (would happily take a half size for lunch especially if I was on a student budget) but the portions are decent and the staff are really the star of the show. The owners are so lovely.
This place is delicious!! The lady that works here is very nice and sweet , very welcoming. We ordered the pork chili and dahi chicken. Too full to order momos but they looked great too. (Peeped the other tables) Thoroughly enjoyed it !
Yum yum yum The butter chicken is so tasty and the rice is sticky and perfect. Good curries, lots of chicken included as well as some veggies.
Food was awesome and the portion sizes were big with really reasonable price. We had pork chilli, momo and lamb Biriyani which was really delicious. Will definitely be back.
Butter chicken.. Heavenly. Vegitable Korma... Great flavor and spices. Mango puree.... Awesome. Overall. Excellent fresh food. Worth the wait. Great service! Ask to try one of their home grown Nepal chilis if you like spicy. Will definately be a regular... And try everything on the menu.
Tasty ethnic food right next to the north gate of campus. Thank you for the lady for bringing me hot delicious food on a cold day and gave me hot sauce. I feel ready to climb Mount Everest now

I absolutely love this place. The owner is the sweetest auntie and its always a pleasure to chat with her. She also remembers repeat customers and I really do feel so welcome and loved when visiting. The food is also amazingly comforting when I'm nostalgic and missing home. The price is also affordable for students, with the portions being very generous and often enough for me to pack and bring home to eat later.
They make the best veggie momos in town!!! Try them steamed or jhol. The service is excellent (super kind) and the restaurant is nicely decorated!
I was only in town for the summer but ate at this place a few times. The food is really good and the owners are incredibly friendly and sweet. The chili chicken and pork were my favorites; I’m sure the paneer is good too but I never got the chance to try. Mango lassi is delicious. When I left I told her that this place was one of the highlights of my summer and I meant it!
This spot is one of my favorites. For each dish, they think very carefully about the textures, flavors, and spices, and how they should come together to leave a lasting impression. A dish only makes it on the menu when they are proud to serve it. You can tell from the first bite that they care about what they’re serving. The staff are incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, and it’s clear they enjoy sharing what they do. No matter the day, they will know exactly what you need. Whether it be good conversation, good food, or as is often the case, both.
ordered paneer tikka and roti. both came out piping hot and very fragrant. the paneer tikka is delicious. the paneer is homemade and pan fried! and the owners are so incredibly sweet and kind
I have been dining here on and off for the past 3 and a half years, and multiple times per week (nearly daily) for the past 6 months or so. They are a family run business, and everything that they have on their menu is incredibly tasty. Kendu (the woman who mans the register) is incredibly welcoming and kind.
This little Indian restaurant was a great find. The butter chicken was incredibly delicious, and the woman running the place (I think she’s the owner) was wonderfully kind and welcoming. I’d definitely come back.
Best restaurant in Berkeley! Everything is so delicious, my favorite is paneer tikka masala. Always incredible, friendly service.
Had the beef momos with jhol on recommendation from the register lady who was the sweetest person ever! Fairly priced, freshly made, and delicious with an interesting sauce.

There are so many places that say they are Himalayan or Nepalese or whatever, and there are ones closer to my house than MoMo Masalas, but I really like the menu here and the prices are fair. I like the Chilli Paneer (or chicken, if you want), a kind of street food-style dish that seems to walk the line between Indian and Chinese. Dahi Chicken is nice, too.

[longtime student opinion] My favorite northside restaurant. Food is slightly more expensive than other restaurants, and takes a little while to make (so order early on snackpass), but the portions are generous, the food is just really tasty, and the old lady at the front is the sweetest person ever. :) Personal favorite dish is the chili chicken.

We got the beef momo and chicken momo with jhol. They were alright. The jhol almost tasted like tomato bisque soup from Safeway.
