Me Chow was absolutely amazing and our server made the whole experience even better. The service was attentive, friendly, and made us feel really welcomed. Everything came out perfectly and the energy was great. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had! Thank you, darko!
A combination of amazing food, impeccable service, presentation, theater, drama and culture! A little expensive but well worth it!
Ramone was incredible! Everything he suggested was delicious. The glazed prawns and chicken satay were my favorites. Our main course was the duck and it was cooked to perfection! All the staff were friendly and efficient. I was so full when I left. I will be back soon!
The server was as patient as he was helpful. Service overall was attentive and excellent. Food was delicious. I dined at Mr. Chow (Beverly Hills), 25 years ago. I was skeptical about whether they kept up their standards. But they surpassed my expectations in both food and service. I highly recommend the place.
Wow ! Just wow!! Listen don’t believe yelp! This place is incredible!! The best food in Beverly Hills ! Highly recommend it . Our waiter Tony been there 20 years. Started as a dish washer and now serves with the most pride and knowledge ever. Took care of us at the highest level and the food was incredible! Go here and thank me later !!
Here’s a NED-style review for Mr Chow: --- ✅ What Works Well - Upscale, stylish atmosphere with iconic decor and presentation. - Known for high-end Chinese cuisine with elegant plating and quality ingredients. - Signature dishes like the Beijing Duck and handmade noodles impress. - Attentive, white-glove service elevates the dining experience. - Great for special occasions or celebrity-spotting nights out. --- 👎 What to Watch Out For - Very expensive—expect premium pricing across the board. - Portions can be small relative to cost. - Style may feel more focused on ambiance than depth of flavor for some. - Can feel overly formal or pretentious depending on expectations. --- 🎯 Verdict Mr Chow delivers a luxe dining experience combining artful presentation, classic Chinese dishes, and high-end service. Ideal for splurges or a stylish night out. Rating: 4.0 / 5 --- Want help picking between Mr Chow’s locations or signature dishes?
There are not enough stars to give Mr. Chow. Food? Absolutely outstanding. Ambiance? Fantastic. Service? Perhaps the best I've ever experienced. I have had the opportunity to visit numerous highly rated, famous, top-tier restaurants here in the US and overseas, and I can easily say this dining experience is at the very top of my list. A special recognition of Darko is important to include here. Not only did he take the time to go through the menu with us, make excellent recommendations, and engage in warm and polite conversation throughout the night, but he also did so while directing an entire staff on a busy evening (I imagine every evening is busy here!) with precision, professionalism, and honestly - perfection. He really made us feel special and we are so appreciative of him! We enjoyed every moment of our experience and cannot wait to go back!
Someone invited me to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. We were a group of ten and really enjoyed the food. It was beyond our expectations and the service was incredible. At the end of the dinner, the servers got together and surprised my friend with a birthday cake. They sang the song and my friend was so happy. This will always be one of my favorite restaurants and I recommend this place.
I had an unforgettable night at Mr. Chow for a dinner hosted by my dear friends Chris and Edgar. The staff was impeccable—every detail was thought through, every request was met with such care, and the entire evening felt effortless and glamorous. The food was divine, the service beyond compare, and the atmosphere made our celebration even more special. A world-class experience in every way.
I was just at Mr. Chow and had the most iconic experience! The atmosphere was absolutely top notch from the lighting to the energy in the room, everything felt so refined and lively. We were there for a birthday party, and the staff really helped create the perfect vibe for the celebration. The Lychee Martini was the star of the night perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. The food was exquisite, each dish bursting with flavor and plated to perfection. Overall, it was an unforgettable evening. Mr. Chow truly knows how to deliver luxury dining with style and substance. Highly recommend!
I’ve heard a lot of great things about this restaurant and it was better than I expected. Grate ambiance, the service was amazing and the food was delicious. The servers were polite and attentive, all staff were so friendly. My favorite dishes were the chicken satay, glazed prawns with walnuts and the duck of course. I also enjoyed the lychee martini and espresso martini.
Mr Chow has been my favorite restaurant in Beverly Hills for over 2 decades. It is an iconic Chinese restaurant with attention to every detail. The food is delicious, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is fun, stylish, elegant and timeless. Ricardo, the General Manager, is so sweet and attentive and makes every visit feel like a special occasion. Yes, it is expensive, but you get what you pay for! It’s incredible fine dining without feeling stuffy or pretentious. It’s fun!! Lots of celebrity sightings as a bonus. If you’ve never been, you must try it!
We had such a wonderful dining experience at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills! As vegetarians, we are always curious about menu options when dining out, and we were so impressed by how many delicious choices there were for us here. Every dish was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and exceeded our expectations. The service was absolutely top notch. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome, attentive without ever being intrusive, and guided us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations. The atmosphere was elegant yet inviting, which made the evening feel special from start to finish. Mr. Chow truly delivered on every level, and we left already talking about what we want to order on our next visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for incredible food, exceptional service, and a memorable night out in Beverly Hills!
I had one of the most memorable dining experiences here. Immaculate service and incredible food. Every dish was a new sensory surprise and so so good. Chicken satay and seabass were my favorites. While I didn’t have high expectations of the desserts and thought we didn’t have more space left to eat, we finished them in a matter of seconds! Highly recommend for an upscale dining experience.
Prior to visiting this restaurant, I researched the restaurant official website. Surprisingly, there is no menu available. I then searched yelp, 3 out of 5, 1039 reviews, and google map, 4.1 out of 5, hundreds of reviews . Many reviews saying it’s not worth to try, but I still decided to go - because of its history, I am a fan of the father of the first owner of this restaurant. However, I have to rate 3 out of 5 of the entire experience. The staff are well trained and professional. They are very polite and welcoming. But I always have a feeling that they prompted me to order quickly, eat quickly and leave quickly. I did not feel as relaxed and respected as when I eat at other restaurants. Another thing that confused me is the menu. Each item has its price listed next to it. I ordered chicken satay $14, Mr Chow Noodles $28, emperor’s crab $52 and green prawns $52. However, I was charged as $92 per person X 2 persons. I don’t understand how it was counted. I didn’t notice how I was charged until now, when I am writing the review and look at the photos I took at the restaurant. As for the food. They are OK. The chicken is the most popular appetizer at Mr. Chow. It is tender and rich. Don’t order the Mr. Chow noddles! I ordered it because it is relatively expensive in the menu and it is named after “Mr. Chow”. I expected something special. However, it was just noddles, as any noddles available at an ordinary Chinese restaurant. The green prawns was a signature entree of this restaurant. All prawns were dyed green. It tasted fresh and light. It’s a good one to recommend. The emperor’s crab, I actually didn’t figure out what it was. The meat tasted like fish, or artificial crab meat? Not sure. Generally speaking, it didn’t like what I experienced at other $$$$$ restaurants. I will not invite my friends or have business dinner at Mr. Chow as I will feel embarrassed if my friends or business partners are pushed to finish a meal.
The service was outstanding! A great way to celebrate birthdays for two guests. The atmosphere was cold and unwelcoming, and the tables were packed too closely for comfort; even the waitstaff had trouble navigating the room. The food was mediocre - nothing to complain strongly about, but bland, limp beef and flavorless fried rice; all edible but very disappointing for this premium-image establishment.
Mr. Chow is definitely a scene, but when it comes to the food, it falls short especially for the price. I’m not even sure the dishes qualify as Chinese cuisine. I ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wraps to start and the Filet Mignon for my main. Both weren't the best. Not worth what they’re charging. There are a lot of staff on hand, so service is great. This place might be fine for a very special occasion if you’re going for the atmosphere. But if you’re coming just for the food, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Nightmare service; waited 1 hour for a table after a reservation; no spy, no chill on the table And this is a Chinese restaurant? This place is.a definite pass and overrated Our first experience here was amazing Our second never ever again Go here at your own peril And the best part we get a $557 bill with a pro fox dinner in it for two which we did not order And when questioned it goes to $505 …. Just gets better and better !
We had a confirmed 8:00 PM reservation and are still waiting at 8:45 PM, standing the entire time. The explanation given was that it’s the night before the Golden Globes (and apparently it’s like this every year? They haven’t fixed this yet?) It’s an acknowledgment of poor planning. A restaurant at this level should anticipate demand and manage reservations accordingly. Overbooking and calling it “busy” is not acceptable. For a place that prides itself on exclusivity and charges accordingly, this felt careless and dismissive of guests’ time. A reservation should carry weight. Here, it clearly doesn’t. If you’re considering dining here, I would strongly advise against it.
I know all the reviews must be fake bc there is no way people actually like this place. And I want to preface that I am totally fine paying a lot for a genuinely good dining experience and I leave with a happy belly. Anyways, I live in Beverly Hills and thought I would finally try Mr Chow. It’s iconic, every celebrity has mentioned it, etc so I was excited. You walk inside and the decor is beyond dated and tables are literally on wheels. We ordered the Mr chow noodles, crispy beef, chicken satay, and a few other apps. The noodles were literally (I mean literally)just spaghetti and tomato sauce. The crispy beef tasted like wonton chips (I was not convinced there was any beef present at all), chicken satay was…fine and the veggies were okay. And then these employees rolled over this drink cart every 5-10 minutes which got super annoying. All in all, I felt like I was at a mediocre all inclusive in Cancun. And at the end, bill was outrageous compared to the food we got. Again, all for paying a lot for a good dining experience and if the food is actually memorable, but I genuinely felt like I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t getting punked from How kinda bad this place and food was. There are sooooo many other upscale Chinese restaurants in LA that I would go to any day over this place. I wonder if there was a change in management at some point? Bc there is no way people actually like this place
