When the waitress said that everything was homemade I was very skeptical since most moderate dining restaurants don't even attempt that. I can honestly say that every meal we had was had crafted even the bacon was smoked in house and very good ranch dressing that is very close to a home chef's dressing. I definitely recommend the bacon wrapped dates and the chicken strips were very good. GF options also there is a decent bun for a sandwich.

Great breakfast/lunch spot! The restaurant is really chic and has a nice patio area. We went for their opening weekend and the staff was so friendly. The menu is filled with a ton of great dishes. Half the menu isn’t available yet due to the soft opening weekend, but the waiter assured us it will be available within a week or so. Truffle poutine was great… grilled avocado with focaccia was delicious… and the BlueCrab cake Benny was amazing!!! There’s already a ton of dishes I have my eye on once they become available like the chef’s risotto, steak entree, and pretty much all their desserts like the cannoli nachos. Super excited to have a new spot in the village to enjoy a nice breakfast!!

We would recommend the vegan burger! Awesome, made from scratch. The fries were 👌🏻😋. Take out or dine in, both are good options. Loved it

Anybody rates this place less than five stars is crazy. Great food great options for vegan, plant based and vegetarian and toss in gluten free also. Like the husband and wife are carrying the baby and helping run their business. American dream at its finest. Highly recommend

This is a very quaint and inviting location. Had the pleasure of meeting the owners and the multicultural staff. I highly recommend this establishment. The cocktails are very deliciously crafted. The food has recipes that have moved up from the family Grapevine to your table. I highly recommend this place as experienced Chef of 20 years I will definitely be returning.

I don’t know why everyone talks so bad about the service here! though it was busy, the only waiter was being super kind and always checking in on us, and it was all very fast. The food was delicious and the ambience was perfect for a ski getaway. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Came in for brunch and our waitress was amazing and I have to give credit where credit is DUE! I didn’t get her name but I believe she said she was the manager. She explained the gluten free options, described what a delicious Bloody Mary they have— but I ended up keeping it safe with a delicious latte with the perfect amount of sweetener. Waitresses like this hardly exist and it shows she loves what she does. Cheers to making our breakfast PERFECT on a Saturday morning.

Everything was amazing. First time here. The setting and vibe were relaxing with alot of positive energy. We ordered chorizo nachos and a chorizo burrito which were delicious and tasty. It does get crowded but can sit large groups. Outdoor sitting has umbrellas for shade and is a delightful sitting area on the strip. The inside sitting is also very comfortable.. Yes, they have mimosas and an unlimited option. Check out our rental cabin, link is in profile.

What a lovely spot! The restaurant is beautiful with large windows and stylish decor. I loved that there are gluten free options. The food is great - all locally sourced and made from scratch. But the highlight of Stella Luna is the staff. Everyone here truly cares and are professional and friendly. My favorite spot in Big Bear!

Sarah is amazing! I cannot say enough about her professionalism, her camaraderie and her efficiency. This is our first time coming here, but because of Sarah, it most definitely will not be the last. She was attentive, courteous always with a smile and took very good care of us. Love you, Sarah can’t wait to come back!

Sarah was wonderful. With torrential downpour and nowhere to eat on the strip, we came in and had fast accommodations with great service. She was so kind and patient with a hungry crowd. I can’t wait to come back again for brunch!

I’ve been here a couple times, every time I visit Big Bear. I love the food and the trendy atmosphere. The last time I went, I unfortunately had a bloody nose during my lunch. The staff were so sweet and accommodating to me. They brought me cold towels and kept checking on me to make sure I was okay. I love this place!

The food was amazing with so many options to cover us all with the vegan and gluten free options. Mark was our server, John came out and helped us with some refills and they made our experience 10x better and highlight of our trip :). 100% coming back here for the vibes with these two

A great scratch kitchen in Big Bear Lake city and delicious food. The restaurant is very modern and has a great selection of foods. Our server was also very kind and helpful and did his best to attend to us. But I will give some constructive feedback: - Giving dirty paper menus that have been stepped on and have water and drink marks on it is very much so not nice. It does not give the best look of the restaurant to the customers. Laminated paper menus would be great because they would not get dirty and can get cleaned well. - Our water cups were not clean. We weren’t sure if they weren’t cleaned at all or weren’t cleaned well, but it’s not nice to be given cups that aren’t cleaned well. Please make sure the dishes are cleaned well before serving. Otherwise, the food is excellent!! The quality of the meat and everything else were great!! With some improvements to the service, this restaurant can become one of the best in the area.

Incredible service incredible people!. I asked for a table for seven we seated immediately and they asked if we had children to bring us high chairs. This is before I said anything. The music is incredible the hostess kitchen staff the food is to die for. Highly recommend this place.

Came in for a bite at lunchtime and was seated immediately. Nice outdoor patio and the interior has nice half booths against the wall, but the decorations are pretty sparse. It looks a bit sterile in there. It could use some coziness. I started with some focaccia table bread, and the consistency of it was lovely, but there were no fresh herbs anywhere to be seen or tasted. When I usually order focaccia bread, you get a cornucopia of lovely fresh herbs and this had none. I then had the arugula burrata salad and that was delicious. Nice balsamic glaze with plump raspberries and strawberries, and the Burrata was very creamy with a large portion. Pretty fair prices.

--- Coming from a vibrant metropolis like Mexico City, arriving in Big Bear, California, can initially feel like a culinary challenge. However, to our pleasant surprise, on the third day of our visit, while searching for a more varied and perhaps slightly more refined breakfast, we discovered this lovely spot. The warmth and charm of the place perfectly reflect the spirit of Big Bear. Not only was the service exceptionally friendly, but the food was of a much higher caliber than we expected, offering a wide variety of options. There are vegan and gluten-free choices, making it inclusive for different dietary needs. Despite being in a smaller town, we felt like we were dining in a refined restaurant you'd find in New York or Mexico City. It was truly a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Big Bear! ---

I forgot to take photos of our meals, but we got the Salmon entree, Buffalo Chicken Meal and my sister and I shared. Both meals entirely gluten free as well as the cake, and our appetizer (Spinash and Artichoke Dip). Everything was wonderful and our server Leticia was amazing 👏 10 out of 10 would come back here again!

My mom and I stopped in for Breakfast and we had the BEST experience! We want to come back asap. They are a scratch kitchen that uses high quality AND organic ingredients that taste amazing! The menu options are fantastic and they have many options for vegans, vegetarians, and if you are gluten free. We can’t wait to come back next time we visit Big Bear. We had a great server named Shelby who was so kind. Last but not least, we loved that they had earth friendly compostable to go boxes!! Please come here and support them so they stay in business! This is a must visit in Big Bear if you're a foodie. *Food is cut and prepared fresh once you order, so don't go if you have a tight schedule. However, if you're good with a leisurely brunch, then it's highly recommended. Everything was delicious and very good quality. Absolutely recommend the Focaccia Bread (on its own or in any dish) and the Blue Crab Benny! We also had a Traditional Breakfast with chorizo, a Grilled Cheese with Caramelized Onions and Mushrooms with Sweet Potato Fries, a Vegan Chorizo Burrito with the Fire Roasted Cherry Tomatoes and Avocado. Not a single item was sub par. Best sweet potato fries I've had in decades, and the flavour of the tomatoes and avocado were unbelievable. Grab some Focaccia bread with balsamic and oil, you won't be sorry. The hot chocolate comes with roasted marshmallows! Sarah took care of us, and she made sure our food orders were correct. Vegetarian and vegan options are available and clearly marked. Loved the food here!

This place is a gem 💎!! Fresh orange juice and amazing bottomless mimosas! I had the chorizo burrito which had some great flavor. The potatoes on the side were also very good. The ingredients taste so fresh. This is somewhere you would go to get full but not feel like the food was too heavy. We were so delighted with the food and service that we came back the next day!! The staff is so welcoming and attentive. This is the spot we ate telling our friends and family about, total Le crème of the crop in big bear 🐻!!!

Stella Luna is a nice little place in Big Bear, walking distance from the town center. They offer a good variety of breakfast/brunch food! If you are in the mood for your Mimosa's in the morning, this is a good place 🍹. Excited to find that they served Vegan options for us #Treehuggers 🌱. So extra points there if you are vegetarian or vegan for their healthier options. Sadly some of their plate portions where small 😔 leaving me with wanting to order more food. Some of their plates needed a little kick of flavor 💥 (In my opinion) But that doesn't take much from the atmosphere, service and prices! Good spot to visit if you are in Big Bear and want to eat Cali style.

I found this amazing place yesterday ♥️ Walking by the Main Street of “downtown” Big Bear, me and my friends decided to eat something there. The service was really good and the food: COMPLETELY AMAZING. They prepare everything there with organic ingredientes, so it’s all fresh and tasty. There’s a lot of gluten free and vegan options too. It’s very cozy inside, but sitting outside also has its charm too 🫶🏼. I loved their menu since their logo! I tried the Pepperoni Stromboli and I absolutely loveeeee it! I can’t wait to come back there.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Stella Luna for the first time, and it was a delightful experience. What stood out to me the most was the quality of the ingredients—everything was incredibly clean and farm-fresh, which made a significant difference in the taste. We started with freshly squeezed orange and grapefruit juices, both of which were refreshing and vibrant, clearly made on-site. The butter board was a highlight of the meal, featuring toast, butter, and honey—a simple yet irresistible combination. For my main course, I ordered the crab cakes, which were simply delightful. They were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. My daughter had the pancakes; however, she found them a bit bland. I believe this was due to their organic preparation, free from any artificial additives, which some might appreciate for its health benefits. The service was another strong point. Our server was very friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and ensuring we had a pleasant dining experience. Overall, if you’re looking for clean, fresh food, Stella Luna is the place to go. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend it to others who appreciate farm-fresh ingredients and a friendly atmosphere.

Very nice place, really like the interior and the menu choices. The food was delicious and the presentation was really nice. I would visit it again. Why I'm giving them ⭐⭐⭐? (-1 star) for service: * There's no hostess in front of the restaurant, at least it was not visible for us. I would suggest leaving some hints at the entrance or having a hostess to welcome the guests. Otherwise it looks like a self-service restaurant which is not the case. *We were waiting to be seated for 15min although half of the tables were available/empty. The boy who served or was supposed to serve our table came with an almost empty bottle of water and when he went to take another one he never come back. So we were left with one and a half glasses of water. After that we were waiting for more than 15 min and nobody came to take our order. We had to ask another waitress to do it. (-1 star) for bad food experience Like I said, the food was delicious. The presentation was nice. Good portion size. My only problem was the tomato peels in the soup (see my pic). I was not able to finish it because of them. Please, please, please, it takes less than 5 min to use the strainer and remove those nasty peels from the dish. It ruins everything. I hope next time I can give you 5⭐.

First visit this evening. Very friendly, helpful server. Ordered burrata and veggie burger with squash as the side. Burratta was delicious and really a pretty presentation and the squash was tasty. Unfortunately never got the veggie burger due to a miscommunication with the server and the kitchen. Also, based on a busy weekend, some of their menu options were not available which created a challenge for one of the guests in our party. I hate to give this a poor review because the food that we did have was tasty. Definitely need to give it a second try!

We waited 30 minutes to be seated. Once inside, the chairs at our table were wobbly and unstable. After placing our order, about 30 minutes passed and only some of our food arrived. When I asked the waitress about the rest of our order, she returned to tell us that the kitchen was out of the items we had ordered. We were told to order something else and that it would be on the house; however, it took an additional 45 minutes for that food to arrive. Overall, there was very poor communication between the staff and the kitchen. No one seemed to know what was going on, and multiple servers appeared unsure of which food belonged to which table.

Natalie

The main host was wearing stained clothing that was too big for him. There was no clear dress code for all workers. The cook had a beard and did not cover it. The table we were seated at was dirty. All tables around us were dirty. The food was decent but greasy. Sprite was actually seria mist. Our server was ok but he did stare a lot. The main server was new smiled a lot and gave thumbs up so I'll give him that. When coffee was delivered it spilled all over our table and the 2nd server did not clean it up. My food came out in 15 minutes, my parents meal took 24.5 minutes. Food should always be served together in a timely manor. Overalls experience wasnt good. Lastly as my family walked out I noticed that female host had either bruises or hickeys all over her neck. They were very visible and did not look professional

H
Heidi Hanson

“Our food is made fresh” is NOT AN EXCUSE FOR BAD SERVICE, or plates coming out one by one over the course of an hour. Your customers aren’t stupid. I hate to break this to you, but any half decent restaurant is also making their food fresh, and they manage to bring out a table’s food all together. In March of 2025, this happened and “our food is made fresh” was the excuse. 8 months later, same thing and same excuse. When we finally did get our food, both eggs Benedict were hard boiled eggs, and (40 min later) the chorizo burrito looked like it had been sitting in the window a while, and came without the requested mods. As someone who spent a lot of their life working in restaurants, it’s pretty clear that there’s no system or strategy in the kitchen, either for making the food come out together or for running food. Does the cook need additional training? Do you need another person in the kitchen? When food goes in the window is it placed there with the table’s ticket, indicating the order is complete or are servers just grabbing dishes at random? When servers grab food are they stabbing the table’s ticket? Perhaps the manager should be in the back expo-ing food instead of hanging out in front? I say this because you guys have potential and this is such a basic part of service that there’s really no excuse, and certainly not, “our food is made fresh”. Do better.

R
Ric Dantas

Unfortunately, our visit was pretty disappointing. First, the host didn’t make a great first impression — he looked like he’d just rolled out of bed after a night out, which didn’t exactly give off a professional vibe. Second, the tables were dirty and clearly not wiped down before being reset. There were crumbs and bits of old food left behind, and even the menus were dirty and torn. Third, when we ordered coffee, my wife’s drink was delivered half-spilled and left dripping on the table. The server just walked away without offering to clean it up or replace it, which was surprising. Food - average at best which means overpriced. On the positive side, our main waiter was new but did a great job — friendly, attentive, and clearly trying his best despite the circumstances.

We came for lunch and it was a bizarre experience to say the least. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. However, after we were seated our server was trying to rush us to order. He looked busy so we just ordered and let it go. We asked for water and didn’t get any for about 30 minutes. My friend’s salad came out immediately (before water). The rest of us got food much, much later. After 30 minutes of no water we asked again. Waited another 10 minutes or so. I tried to flag someone down and she ignored me. We noticed employees walking around confused almost. Like, they were busy, but we couldn’t tell exactly what they were doing for anyone. Finally our server came back and explained they were having a lot of bad issues in the restaurant. He apologized and grabbed our glasses to get us water because they were “out of clean pitchers.” So we honestly felt bad. It seemed like he was trying, but things were falling apart. We saw quite a few people leave. We got our food late and very far apart. My sandwich didn’t have any sauce on it, but I didn’t want it fixed. We were starving and just ate and left. We asked them what was going on and they said it had “been like this lately.” Things were, “rough.” It would have been better if something was discounted, but that didn’t happen. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty and inviting. It is just…. everything else.

We asked them what was going on and they said it had “been like this lately.” Things were, “rough.” It would have been better if something was discounted, but that didn’t happen. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty and inviting. It is just…. everything else.

Do better.

This place sucks. Stay away. They need to sell to someone that has a sense of hospitality. Nobody knows what they're doing there. Rude management and poor ticket times. Burger was extremely over cooked. Took over an hour from ordering to get our food. Ordering drinks took about 40 minutes to receive. Place was pretty dead too. Not a lot of people there. I just don't understand how you can fail this bad...... You had one job! Service!!

Came here for a brunch on Sunday and had a very unfortunate experience. The server kept saying it was her first breakfast shift which was fine ... however you should not have to wait 45 minutes for cold eggs benedict or cold pancakes.... At the bare minimum as a courtesy they should have comped something and didn't So the worst $100 brunch for 2ppl experience ever!

Big bear is an amazing spot. Stella Luna is not. I ordered a burger and called to let them know it was not cooked well done as I requested. after speaking with the owner she was extremely rude and did not refund me after sharing my American Express statement and details. horrible communication, horrible food and even worse customer service. if you want a relaxing spot try another in big bear. This is not it. so many amazing spots with amazing customer service and amazing food. Makes sense why this spot doesn’t have 5 stars I should have followed the reviews.

The server forgot water cups, never asked for water and then forgot the small plates for appatizers. Which would have been ok only if the food was any good. Sadly the food was really really bad. Stake was burned and Broccoli had lemon juice on it. backed chicken was with vegatable, chicken was burned and vegetables had so much solt that my husband could not eat the chicken or vegetables. Buffalo chicken salad was just horrendous.

Trust all the negative reviews. Inattentive staff, long wait times even when there aren't a lot of patrons, bland food, and an overall underwhelming, bizarre experience. Waited 10 minutes until one of the staff asked if we had been helped yet. Food was terrible and incorrect from what we ordered. Vegan food was offered with ranch. Undercooked, flavorless vegetables served with a lot of lettuce and a teaspoon of ceaser dressing. The vegan chocolate cake was dry and bland. The food was not worth the price or the hassle.

We stopped into Stella Luna purely because we were facing a 2-hour wait at the restaurant across the street and needed something quick while hungry. The place looked promising from the outside, with an “A” health grade visible on the door and a public notice about an upcoming ownership change (Stella Luna Inc applying for a license transfer/change in stock owners for what seems to be the same spot previously listed as “Cowboys” or similar in the notice). Despite the dining room being about 80% empty when we walked in, the hostess claimed the wait was over an hour for a table. We asked about the bar instead, and they allowed us to sit there. Turns out, many other customers were in the exact same boat—killing time waiting for other spots. The menu was a major letdown: most items we wanted weren’t available. We ordered a salad and crab cakes, which took over 40 minutes to arrive—unacceptable for simple apps when the place wasn’t busy. Food was mediocre at best, nothing memorable. The restroom was very dirty, which was off-putting given their “farm-to-table, scratch kitchen” branding. Service felt uninterested and slow, possibly due to the impending ownership transition. It gave the impression the current staff/owners aren’t motivated to provide good service. We wouldn’t return, and I can’t recommend this place in its current state. Hopefully the new ownership turns things around, but as of now, steer clear.

Before we walked in, I noticed there was a owner change application on the door. Honestly, didnt think much of it. Once we were inside, they weren't busy. This made me feel relieved, since other restaurants quoted us 2 hour waits. This establishment quoted a 20 minute wait. There were nine empty tables. My party, which was three people in total, and I decided to wait. 20 minutes is better than two hours. During our wait, I went to the restroom. It was disgusting and dirty. Once we were seated, our table was still WET. Thats absolutely horrible and shows the lack of care this business has. Our waitress came by and informed us they didnt have burgers or wings tonight. It was a Saturday night. I understand not having certain supplies. I do not understand why the employees would wait to tell us after we were seated. So, we walked out. I wouldn't recommend this place due to the obvious lack of thought or care the employees had. Hopefully after the owners change, this place will become a better establishment.

Only ones in the restaurant and our server IGNORES us (i mean absolutely no eye contact) for over 30 mins. We eventually flagged down another employee to order. It felt intentional at a certain point as another party, whom came AFTER us, received their food before we ordered... atmosphere one star because it made us feel so uncomfortable. I'm writing this in real time, updating time frames during our experience... Her name? Sarah. States she's the "boss" after finally coming to our table at about 45 mins in (with literal no eye contact still) and that she's training, and all she says regarding our service is "you guys are all good, right?!" while giving us two thumbs up. Okay so the food... I honestly assumed would be really really good. I was disappointed unfortunately. But with mine only, because in our group of 5, everyone else's was amazing. I ordered the most simplest of breakfasts, the traditional breakfast (2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage patties, slice of toast, and potatoes). Okay, let's continue with i HATE being a Karen so so so much, but sheesh... the eggs so strongly smelled of sea food (salmon) and tasted as such. That being said, they were delicious and i love sea food lol, but if I didn't? That would pose an issue. The sausage was decent and cooked perfectly. The potatoes were nothing special, but the toast!!!! THE TOAST (focaccia) was incredible. And I just learned, is made in house. Overall, unfortunately, I'd say maybe 3 stars averaging all aspects. I am absolutely positive mine was (hopefully!!) not a regular experience.

My experience at Stella Luna today deserves to be shared — especially for families traveling with young children. I walked in with my baby and was told to “pick any table.” So I did… and then sat there completely ignored for 30 minutes. I approached the hostess. Nothing. I approached the waitress. Nothing. I even asked the manager for help. Still nothing. No greeting, no water, no menu, no acknowledgement — just dismissal. After 40 minutes of being patient and then politely advocating for myself, I was shocked to be told to leave because they “couldn’t serve me.” Not once did anyone apologize or take responsibility for ignoring me and my baby in a half-empty restaurant. For a place that presents itself as warm and welcoming, the lack of basic courtesy was astonishing. If you’re a parent — or honestly, any customer expecting to be treated with basic respect — I’d strongly recommend choosing another restaurant in Big Bear Lake.
