We found this place on Google Maps after an extensive search for a place in Bilbao that does a sandwich more like the ones back home in Ireland, as opposed to a traditional Spanish bocadillo. We were so happy with our find that we came back to it for lunch three days in a row. The sandwiches are delicious, they use regular sliced bread, they come with a variety of ingredients so you can mix and match and they don’t cut the roof of your mouth like toasted bocadillos! 😆 We alternated between; Spicy ham with tomato and a light spicy mayonnaise; Avocado, mozzarella and tomato; Egg and ham. We’re both allergic to fish/seafood but the Beetle Bar caters to all tastes. There were vegetarian options available and the smoothies seemed to be extremely popular. The sandwiches are sort of half-toastie-sized and they were inexpensive at €2.50 each - the same price as a glass of Cava! We can’t recommend the place highly enough. There was cold still lemon/lime- infused water on tap free of charge (they don’t seem to sell bottled water, which isn’t a complaint). The staff were lovely and friendly too. While there is outdoor seating outside, they had the air conditioning on full blast so we were only too happy to stay out of the sun. Thank you.

TLDR: Great cafe with cheap/tasty vegan breakfast 8.50 euro. Cute little spot just on the corner of the square. Incredibly nice vegan breakfast, simple with avocado toast also comes with tomatoes two slices of bread, orange juice and a coffee/tea of choice (no plant milk surcharge in this deal). All for the price of 8.50 euro. I would highly recommend it. Has lovely staff, the food came out within 5-10 mins very quick. Nice energy and style within the cafe with space to sit outside (under cover) as well.

Highly recommend for breakfast/brunch/lunch or coffee. We had the vegan breakfast, simple but so tasty: yummy fresh tomato salsa with tasty olive oil, big portion of avocado with bread. Also enjoyed a slice of classic tortilla with onion and the coffee was nice.

I think this place is underrated. Given previous brunch experiences I would rate this a 4.7. The sandwiches were delicious, very well priced and filling. The Bonito sandwich was a pleasant surprise, as we picked it based on looks and didn't know that it was fish. It was the most delicious of the sandwiches we ordered! We also got a couple of slices of bizcocho (pineapple and apple) and they were both delicious! My only suggestion for improvement would be to make iced coffees with cold brew, so they're not as watery, but other than that, it was a perfect breakfast experience.

Nice breakfast at a good price. €7.50 for juice, coffee, eggs, bacon and tomato with bread. The coffee was decent and the cakes were okay - moist but could have done with a little more flavour. I liked the butterfly juice! All in all a nice breakfast. Staff were friendly and also able to accomodate changes to the menu.

Great deal. Juice, coffee or tea and tomatoes, avocado and toast for 7€. No nonsense staff. Good toilets. Food fresh and well presented. The kitchen closed today, Sunday at around noon. Then they had sandwiches and Spanish tortilla to eat.

Local agradable y bien ubicado donde poder tomar un rico desayuno a primera hora de la mañana, además, a buen precio. Cafe con zumo de naranja y croissant a la plancha con mantequilla y mermelada, 3,40 euros.

Buenos desayunos y meriendas, zumos naturales, tostas, tartas...el café riquísimo. Cuenta con alguna mesa en el interior y varias en terraza, también tiene buena selección de bebidas para ir a tomar algo o de copas. Atención rápida y amable.

Mucha variedad, muy bien para desayunar. Esto es lo que pedí: - Café con leche: bien, rico, aceptable. - Zumo de naranja: clave, muy bien para empezar el día. - Pincho de tortilla: aquí creo que fallé en mi elección, de todo lo que tenían, pillé lo más simple, quise jugar sobre seguro, y no estaba demasiado rica, parecía de paquete del supermercado, rica aún así, pero creo que hubiese elegido otra cosa.

La comida del desayuno está rica y el café está bueno. El servicio regular ya que pedimos otro tipo de bizcocho y otro tipo de café y acabaron trayendo un poco lo que quisieron pero bueno bien. Algo desorganizado. De precio bien también 6,5€ cada desayuno.

Pequeño bar pero con bonita ambientación en una esquina de la plaza Unamuno del Casco Viejo. Por lo que pude observar, está más especializado en desayunos a base de sandwiches, zumos y cakes. El café era de marca Novell , no habitual en Bilbao, que me pareció bastante suave y agradable, con ligeras notas ácidas, y agradables notas a chocolate y frutos secos. La atención del personal me pareció correcta .

El servicio de 10 muy atentos y amables. La comida muy rica y el café magnífico. Un poco caro pero está en una zona muy céntrica por lo que responde a ese rango de precios. Recomendado!

A surprise in the middle of old part of Bilbao. Here you will find a mixture of the “pintxos” that you would expect from a bar in a place like this, plus a selection of drinks and cakes from the so popular “hipster” coffee places. The carrot cake was awesome, even taking into account that it’s the most common cake around these days.

Pedimos 2 desayunos Ingleses, con huevo, bacon un poco de pan con tomate, cafe y un zumo. A mi me falto un poco de atención al cliente entras y nadie te dice nada, buscamos la carta y luego pedimos. La comida esta rica y tienen opciones saludables.

En general un buen sitio para desayunar. Lo qué encuentro poca variedad. La tarta de zanahoria, me la esperaba mejor por comentarios, y no fué de lo qué más me gustó... También añadiría qué el aliño del tomate con aguacate es demasiado fuerte para un desayuno. Poco digestivo digamos. Los cafés estaban muy ricos, el yogurt también. El personal es amable.

Estafadores. 6,50€ p/p por unas tostadas enanas sin nada especial. Está claro que estos sitios no son para nosotros, quien quiera flores y no comer como se ha hecho toda la vida puede ir, el que quiera calidad que no pise este sitio. Menos mal que hasta las 12:00h es “oferta”. Personal antipático..
