I went around 9pm, it wasn’t busy at all the staff was super friendly, explained things on the menu when we asked and were attentive. The food itself was amazing, the Red Wine Braised Beef Short Ribs were incredible! The Loch Duart Salmon was cooked beautifully. The mashed potatoes were one of the best i’ve ever had.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely brunch experience at Madam. The restaurant's atmosphere was chic and elegant, creating a perfect ambiance for our Sunday brunch. The staff was attentive and welcoming, making sure that we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. The menu had various options, from classic dishes to more unique ones. My dish was a mouth-watering masterpiece, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and presented beautifully. Valet is available and so easy.

The food was scrumptious. The staff was stupendous. Our waitress was top notch. She was super knowledgeable about the menu and pleasant to converse with. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant.

I love this restraunt. The service is always top notch, the food is soo fresh and delicious. The ambiance is very artistic and interesting. My absolute favorite dish that I've ordered over and over again is the spicy chicken sandwich. The flavor is explosive and the chicken is super juicy and tender.

This place is beautiful inside and the staff is very friendly. Our waiter, Kip, was pretty cool and took care of us. The food here is great and fresh so I can understand why the price is a little high. It is worth the money and experience. I ordered the Madam Burger, and friends ordered the Creole Chicken, Spanish Octopus, and Sea Scallops. All was great. The Truffle Fries were disappointing as we didn't taste truffle.

First off the atmosphere is beautiful. Was quickly seated. I advise to make reservations. our waitress was Jodi. She was amazing! She did such a good job at dietary restrictions explaining the menu from top to bottom. Just a great experience all the way around the food is to die for. Such amazing quality. Everything was delicious. So worth visiting. If in town or a local!!

This restaurant is definitely top-notch in a place that I would highly recommend. Immediately upon entering the establishment I am greeted with a friendly smile and direct it to my table. This is a great place to meet friends and or have a fun lunch date or dinner date. You are sure to have a memorable experience the ambiance is amazing. The staff has top-notch customer service and takes it to another level by ensuring you have everything that you need and going over and beyond. If you're looking for a unique experience this is definitely the place. The menu changes, which means be prepared to let your taste buds explore. I ordered a few items and I wasn't disappointed. The presentation could have been better with the broccoli Florentine....but outside of that everything else was stellar.

Madam of Birmingham is definitely a vibe✨ I went for lunch with my brother and had an amazing experience He ordered the Madam Burger with their house fries which are perfect. I had the grilled salmon sandwich. Now I’ve never had salmon on a bun so it was different for me but I did enjoy it. This was accompanied by house fries topped with freshly shaved truffles. Overall I’d give my meal a 8/10. But the drinks y’all 🤤 I went for lunch so we did the breakfast cocktails and I’m so glad we did! I ordered the Morning Spritz which was cool. But the star of the show is the Bourbon for Breakfast. I don’t even like Bourbon but I would go back just to have that drink. It is amazing. 11/10 A must try! My ONLY negative about this restaurant is that the servers don’t seem to be well versed in the menu. The last time I went I asked what AGLIO E OLIO was and the server literally said she didn’t know.

We had suuuuch a great dinner here and had a great time. I can't believe I never knew this place existed but it is inside of the Daxton hotel. The decor is very beautiful and the ambiance is upscale. The saffron pasta was amazing as was the salmon! I was obsessed with the olive oil cake and the sticky toffee pudding. We had the BEST server named Jodi. Aside from being a clearly very experienced server, she was absolutely hilarious and joked with us the entire dinner. She knows the menu and made great suggestions and at the end took great photos of us with the pink bunny. Thank you Jodi for your excellent service. We loved you!

On Thanksgiving 2023, my Husband, Father and I ventured out to a different restaurant in Birmingham thinking it would be open. It was closed. I hopped on Maps and tried to find another restaurant open at 6:15 pm. Saw Madam was and immediately became excited because it's been on my list of Metro Detroit restaurants to try. I called and spoke to their lovely and amazing host Bianca. She was absolutely divine with her customer service. She said they were open and to come on over. If I thought Bianca was wonderful on the phone, she far exceeded our expectations in person when we arrived. Even in the middle of dinner when I asked where the restrooms were, she promptly began walking me towards where they were located. Not only is Bianca beautiful on the outside but she is on the inside. The entire team was wonderful and accommodating with any requests. My family and I sat near the window and enjoyed a lovely experience. Our food was PERFECTION! Highly recommend their mushroom dumplings! I'm dreaming of that dish! What's funny is a few days later, my Father was sharing our experience along with pictures and video to my Sister who lives in Vegas and has been apart of MGM Corporate for 25+ years in HR. She has been to thee most exquisite restaurants they offer in America. Now she wants to eat at Madam next time she is in town. To me that is impressive and a compliment because she is a stickler and difficult to please. The decor was innovative and lovely. Truly enjoyed all the unique artwork. The single restrooms were spacious and clean. Menu is definitely on the pricey side. Ordered Aquapanna and it was $10!!! I've never seen it higher than $6. Other than that, I'm looking forward to trying more of their lovely cuisine. Definitely a must try!

Ive had the pleasure of dining at Madame Restaurant often and I'm impressed! The moment I walked in, I was struck by the vibrant and fun environment - it's clear that this restaurant is a standout, even among other hotel restaurants. The lobby artwork is truly unique and sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. But what really impressed me was the high-end quality of the food and service. The menu is creative and expertly prepared, with dishes that rival those of any top-rated restaurant. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, making sure every detail is taken care of. Madame Restaurant is a must-visit, whether you're a foodie, an art lover, or just looking for a special night out. It's a true gem and a testament to the fact that hotel restaurants can indeed be destination-worthy. 5 stars and highly recommended!

I loved it. Went here for my anniversary and early birthday and had the best time. Tia was an amazing server, very knowledgeable and helped us pick a great bottle of Rosè and aided with food selections. I ordered the cedar plank salmon, it was delicious! I tried the scallops too - they did not disappoint. Tia brought me a little bday surprise— their coconut sorbet - so amazing. The place is beautifully designed and has great ambience. I definitely recommend going!

Big and open space with great drinks and food. Loved the bartenders and the calamari! Got us in earlier than our reservation with no problem. Thanks again!

Vikash was an amazing server. He’s delightful and made sure our special requests were followed. The salads were yummy!!!

Went as a group of four for the Holiday Tea service, which was a delight. The tablescape was lovely, tea selections were many and the food was delicious. The mini lobster rolls were one standout, as were all of the pastry selections. Highly recommend.

I was a guest for a birthday party during brunch at Madame Restaurant and had a wonderful time. The place is beautiful, the food was good, and the staff was very friendly. The manager helped us decorate, and even sent a small birthday cake after eating that made us feel special. Overall, it was a great experience and we really enjoyed our brunch! Thanks so much for being able to accommodate us!

What a wonderful experience! Arriving at the Daxton, we had our doors open by pleasant doormen, wishing us a great visit. The atmosphere of the Daxton is truly beautiful without being sterile and cold. Interesting art adorned the walls. I loved seeing the mechanical horse in person as I’ve only seen it in pictures. The host Greeted us with a pleasant smile and quickly seated us at our table. The tablescape was beautiful and elegantly set for a beautiful high tea. Not a thing out of place. The waiters appeared to fill our water glasses and to welcome us to the Daxton once were seated. Three friends and I visited for high tea. I would definitely recommend the tea service. There were different Options for the service and we were more than pleased with ours. The mini lobster rolls were amazing and probably the best I’ve ever had. I had given up finding a good lobster roll until now. The desserts were exquisite and a work of art. Our service was tremendous- attentive without hovering. The food manager came out to inquire if we were happy with our service and our selections, and we all complimented him on his servers and his chefs. I cannot wait to go back and experience the dinner service I definitely recommend a visit and especially the high tea for the holidays.

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here. This was an impromptu decision and it was the best decision. When we got there, we didn’t know the main area was closed during the week, but we asked the manager if we can sit and dine in, without hesitation he allowed us to. To have the whole restaurant to ourselves was such an incredible experience. And to top it off the wine and food was incredible — Zohar (our waiter) gave me the recommendation to try to short rib and it was delicious; as the young kids say “tenderism”. We will be back for dinner soon! Thank you all again for the elevated, romantic experience!

If you ever need to host a group dinner/event, HIGHLY recommend Madam! Jennifer Suchocki and her team at Madam were great to work with. They were extremely communicative, accommodating, and kind. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff were attentive and so nice! We had a great experience and will definitely be back!!

The food and drinks are good here. I had mocktails and was given one on the house because the wait for our drinks was ridiculous. The service is slow but it is worth the wait. No complaints on food but our waitress was not the greatest. It wasn’t that busy around us and she didn’t seem to enthused to be tending to a party of five. Also they do not split bills, so be mindful of that. I’ve had the steak and eggs before and it’s delicious but this time I got the pumpkin pancakes with a side of potatoes and chicken sausage. The sausage was very flavorful but the potatoes were basic for an $8 charge.

Service was great. Lots of cross service going on and all servers were very attentive. We had an enjoyable dinner to celebrate two birthdays. While the entrées were very good, they were lukewarm when they arrived. Not a deal breaker, but had they been warmer, it could have coaxed me to give that 5th star!

A beautiful restaurant fitted at the lobby of the Dayton Hotel in downtown Birmingham. Truly one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever been in. Pros: gorgeous interior, friendly employees, good quality food, limited menu items (I don’t trust menus that offer too many items) Cons: quite overpriced, not as delicious as I had hoped *Asparagus: pretty good! A little bland tho *Cobb Salad: definitely overpriced for what you get, I wouldn’t recommend it I see myself coming back if I had to impress someone with a beautiful aesthetic but the food was certainly nothing to write home about.

I’ve been here several times, brunch and dinner. Grabbed brunch this morning, everybody seemed to enjoy what they ordered! My guests got two eggs any style, breakfast sandwiches, and an omelette I believe. I personally got the avocado toast with a scrambled egg and it was delicious. I also ordered a vanilla latte which took 15-20 minutes to get to our table that was boiling and very tasty! The service was mediocre this morning, not very personable, not very kind, not very attentive, etc. The atmosphere is stunning and a great ambiance for dinner! Still a go-to for me for the food and convenience.

A bit underwhelmed by the experience. We love the atmosphere at Daxton, but haven’t dined at Madam before. The service was exceptional- our server Dawn was simply great. So were our cocktails. But the food overall was below expectations. The sourdough and pizza bianca were the highlights; the Spanish octopus was good, but nothing special (which also applied to the mushroom dumplings); while the carrots were a miss (their only redeeming quality was the pepper spread bed). We will continue to go the Daxton bar for the cocktails and atmosphere, but not sure how often we’d come back for the restaurant…

I dined here with my best friend for breakfast today! Gorgeous restaurant, the vibes were very luxurious. Our waitress was extremely attentive! Food wise, everything was delicious, but the menu was very limited. There was also no drink menu, which was inconvenient. However, what we chose was delicious, especially the latte! Overall good experience, plus ample free parking in the area, plus affordable valet & street parking too.

Food was pretty good and the place is really nice! We had a reservation and they seated us on time even though one person from our party wasn’t there yet. The service was a little slow which we didn’t mind but definitely not the type of place you can walk in and out of within an hour. We got the Avo toast, the hash, and the french toast bread pudding. Overall everything was great!

Stopped in for a cup of tea. The valet snd hostess were lovely. I think our waitress (Katie) was having a bad night ...no greeting, no smile, no options 😐 But we enjoyed our time at the Daxton, anyway, and will return for a more substantial visit.

I like the decorations. Quiet when I go early lunch. Food is great, the juice is good taste and healthy. Happy eating

Came to Madam for a friends birthday, the service was great! Our server was very kind, and the food came quick. The prices are very reasonable for what you get and the food was delicious. They also gave my friend a complimentary dessert. Overall very nice place, good prices, great service, and great food!

We reserved for a dinner on Friday night, the place was half empty. We returned three out of the seven drinks 🍸 we ordered, the glasses smelled like If they were washed with sewage water. The waiter and the manager apologized the first two times and didn't bother after that. Imagine eating food after that experience All that and a 20% inclusive tip in the bill to add insult to the injury. That service was not worth usd 180 in tips.We didn't order dessert to avoid another bad experience. I wish this could reach the owner, I have heard he is the only one who will take action and fix this

Restaurant pretty empty but we couldn't pull a chair from another table to add an additional first to our table. Service was slow, ways was friendly. I asked for salt & pepper, but it was never brought. Danish was excellent, good was very good. Limited breakfast menu.

Went here after reading their article awarding them restaurant of the year. It was my wife's Birthday soI made 7:00 reservation. My expectations were high and to our surprise, the place was dead. Killed the ambience being the only table in the whole place with respect to the few patrons around the bar. The first thing we ordered was the seafood tower. Took 30min ( I don't know how) the lobster was fresh, King Crab portions plentiful and amazing,and the cocktail shrimp was on point. Loved the oyster and the mignonette hands down was the best I have ever had. I wanted to drink it. The smoke flavor fused into it was a great take and original. We were pretty full by the time the food arrived, I got the Short Rib (if you had one, you have had them all), but the cavetelli pasta it sat atop on. Was really tasty. We also had the Salmon. Beautiful plate presentation. The mixed beets added flare to a perfectly cooked Scottish salmon. Food is really 5 stars, but the UNISEX bathrooms were disgusting. Why the need to meet the demands of a few by making your single bathrooms is beyond me, but all I know is my wife couldn't sit down on any of the toilets as they were covered in pee. I had to see with myself. Filthy. I was always taught that if a restaurant can't keep it's bathroom clean, it says alot about what's going on behind the scenes and in the kitchen. Restaurant of the year? Maybe the food and presentation, but knowing how they keep their bathrooms, ibadan wondering if I was gonnaget food poisoning. Unacceptable. I live in town and really wanted to like this place. I came here with a friend visiting from New York as it seemed like a special place based on the menu and seasonal concept. I had made a reservation and we were seated promptly. The decor is stark but impressive. Our server introduced herself and began describing the menu. Suddenly she excused herself mid-sentence and ran out of the restaurant. We assumed she was sick. When she returned, she went to two other tables before coming back to us, which was incredibly strange. When she returned to our table, she proceeded to describe every single dish in detail, which was unnecessary and we were getting hungry at this point. The food began to arrive and the presentation was great on most dishes and impressive. The bread and burrata was not great. It lacked flavor and the homemade bread that the server hyped up was stale. My octopus and cacio e pepe was beautifully plated. The octopus was cooked well but the pasta was really over seasoned to the point where I didn’t eat it. My friends fish dish was under seasoned and the plating was messy. The dessert, Milk and Honey, was by far the best part. It was beautiful, unique and was delicious! Throughout dinner, someone kept trying to take our plates away before we were done and the server seemed irritated that we were taking so long to eat, which was ironic considering it took her so long to let us order. She had a condescending tone every time she came to our table, like we were irritating her asking for another glass of wine or the dessert menu. Meanwhile, someone was dragging black garbage bags on the floor from the bar through the restaurant, which really threw off the ambiance. You’d think they could just keep the garbage up front until service was complete or find a different solution where it wasn’t going past customers at what is meant to be a fine dining experience. Overall, I would not return for dinner. Maybe I would give Madam another shot for brunch. I saw some patrons getting the same dishes in the lounge area but the hotel entrance. I would for sure come back just to get a drink and the Milk and Honey dessert at the lounge where hopefully you didn’t have to interact with the servers as much.

The atmosphere and service at this place are excellent — the vibe is truly amazing. However, I ordered the yellowfin tuna, and unfortunately, it very disappointing, especially for $42. It was completely tasteless and lacked flavor. I usually enjoy raw tuna, but this one didn’t taste fresh and had a poor texture. The portion was small and not enjoyable at all — honestly, it was the worst tuna I’ve ever had. The Madam cocktail was also quite underwhelming — very simple and not memorable. You could probably get a better experience with a basic gin and tonic

Super Overhyped. Went for brunch. Place wasn’t busy but had slow service. Even when they apologized, still took half hour to bring the bill. Small portions. Obviously frozen fries. So many alternatives that are way better in the area. Don’t do it.

From the minute you walk in the hotel you feel unwelcomed as if they are trained not to smile or show any kind of emotion. I got my reservation almost a month in advance for 6 pm. A week prior to my reservation I called to add 2 more people to my party, they refused claiming they were fully booked. I was disappointed when we arrived to see that the place was completely empty and stayed that way for about 2 hours. The food presentation is great but the actual taste was not. Each time I’d grab a slice of pizza my hands would turn black from how burnt the bottom was. Other than the mushroom one the others should be taken off the menu. Stay away from the potato pizza! The gnocchi was so salty to the point that you couldn’t enjoy the plate. Thankfully they had fries, they were great I should have ordered 12 of them. If your looking for a restaurant that makes you feel welcome and has delicious food this isn’t the place. There are far better options in the area!

The porter house steak and filet was dry and rough as a boot!! $140 waste of money. Best part of all is we had a 20% service charge added on our bill for a table of TWO and the tables next to us didn’t. Complete bullshit and discrimination. Will never go back. DO NOT GO HERE!

Madam is the most over hyped restaurant I have ever experienced. The food did not live up to its accolade of being award winning - expectations did NOT exceed and service was NOT unmatched. The food was beyond poor, including its, according to the waiter, pre-made and pre-cooked off-site burger and frozen fries, the chicken sandwich was dry, tasteless, and insulting, and the cocktails were an overpriced joke. I recently visited Madam for a celebratory birthday brunch for my daughter. We were a party of four. The experience was absolutely disappointing. Although the young, inexperienced waiter, whom I tipped generously, was nice enough, the other staff were absolutely rude. As my daughter and I approached the hotel we noticed 6 young men who work for the hotel doing absolutely nothing and yet they did not think to open the door for us. Once seated, we ordered cocktails that were nothing more than tasteless coloured water with a splash of prosecco. All of the brunch entrees were disgusting, and although I sent mine back I was still charged for it. The decor is akin to an Art Van installation - lots of gaudy colours, lots of lines, and cheap quality. The aforementioned includes their main attraction - the mechanical horse whose hooves drag across the floor resulting in an awful sound that echoes throughout the lobby and restaurant. This restaurant is neither worth the time nor effort. If you want thought-provoking delicious food that never disappoints and great unmatched service in an absolutely beautiful venue, then dine at 220 Merrill - Birmingham.

This is upsetting even having to write this, we arrived at 8pm for a birthday dinner; our waiter basically disappeared most of the time, we had zero to no up keep for our table for drink refills and taking plates away. One of our guests didn’t even get her food: I complained to the manager around 9:30pm because our food was not there, around 10:30ish our food finally started coming out but at that point we were ready to pack and go. We never got to sing happy birthday or even celebrate the birthday girl properly. Our bill was almost $1000 and we paid it but for that service I would say we will not be returning.

I want to begin by recognizing our server, Gary, who was truly wonderful. He was attentive, professional, and did his best to make us feel comfortable despite a situation that was clearly out of his control. His service was the only bright spot of the evening. Unfortunately, the overall experience at Madame in Birmingham was deeply disappointing and hurtful. As a successful woman of color dining with a group of other Black women, we were subjected to repeated racist remarks from other patrons. We were called “clowns,” labeled “obnoxious,” and even compared to being “part of a circus” simply for going to the restroom together — something women commonly do. Hearing those comments while just trying to enjoy a meal was humiliating and upsetting. What made the experience worse was the feeling that this behavior wasn’t being challenged. No one dining nearby spoke up, and it created an atmosphere where we felt isolated and unwelcome. Going out to eat should be an enjoyable, relaxing experience, not one where you have to brace yourself for disrespect because of the color of your skin. Sadly, this isn’t the first time I’ve encountered uncomfortable or racially charged situations in this area, which made the situation feel even heavier. Still, I had hoped for better from an establishment like this. While Gary did everything he could on a personal level, the overall environment made it impossible to feel safe or valued as guests. Because of this, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant. No one should have to endure racism while simply trying to enjoy a night out. ⸻
