Family owned and operated. A nice bar at one side, and pseudo fine dining at the other. Food is good, wait staff is good, prices are as expected and plenty of parking. One of my favorite stops when I get out that way.

We were in Bloomfield for a dance recital and didn't know where to go for dinner. We just happened upon Cheap Charlie's, and are so glad that we did! The food was great, the service was exemplary, and prices were reasonable. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Prime rib was great...strip steak was lean and good...chicken parm was enough for another meal...all 5 star! Only thing that would have taken it off the charts was if Robin had baked!👍

Very good last night. The fish fry was cooked perfectly and my lemon garlic haddock special was delicious.

Has been my choice several times and I have never been disappointed with the food, prices or service. Clean, simple, and friendly dinning whether you are alone or with someone. Really nice for children with their parents. Family friendly even though there is a bar. It is a safe decent place to dine.

Great fish fry! Soups are good too, especially lobster bisque and french onion. Plexi glass between tables for Covid. Service is good and the owner is usually on the premises. Never had a bad meal here. For Friday fish fry I recommend getting there early because it's usually packed

If you are in the area, Do yourself a favor and stop in to Cheap Charlies. At first I didn't know what to think, but the staff and customers were very friendly. The food was outstanding. Pick anything on the menu and it is great. Great for families, my kids loved it. The food is very reasonable. You won't leave hungry.

A Kodak retiree took a tired little bar in Bloomfield and turned into warm comfortable place that offers the best fish fry in the greater Rochester area. And serves it 7 nights a week. It has a fully stocked liquor bar with trendy beers. The staff are welcoming & helpful. We highly recommend.

We had the Cajun Sausage Pasta and it was phenomenal. Service was great. It's a nice small town bar and restaurant.

My monthly group chose Cheap Charlie's and it was great choice. Everyone's meal was very good. A few of us took some of our meals home. Hope to take my family soon.

Dine there often. Country atmosphere, comfortable. Food is always consistently excellent. Go there for prime rib on the weekends, there's none better. Staff is very accommodating. Be sure to order the onion soup too!

Brought here by family members, down to earth, classic american food. Great flavor, amazing value, and wonderful service. Reminds me of the 80s, but the great authentic part of the 80s where people interacted and made connections with each other.

The French onion soup is one of the best I've ever had. My husband was thrilled that they had a breaded fish sandwich and he loved it. My cheeseburger club was outstanding. I couldn't even come close to finishing it. The onion rings are hand breaded and delicious. Our server was excellent and very personable. Can't want to try the rest of the menu!

We had 2 events in the month of February. Meg was my point of contact for both. She has the best communication skills I have ever come across at a restaurant! She was super easy to get ahold of and always answered my questions promptly and efficiently. She was very accommodating with our themed events and made sure the room was set up to meet our needs. The room was organized well and we had ample space for both events that had over 20 people at each one. The food came out quickly and the portions were good and the food was tasty. I enjoyed both my meals and the great service that was provided. When they were made aware of any questions or concerns, they were dealt with quickly, we just had to let them know. There was a discrepancy with the gratuity accidentally being charged 20% for one of the events, but as soon as they were made aware of the situation it was taken care of. They went above and beyond and they will be at the top of my list for my next event!

We had a great meal here! My husband was famished and I wasn't so we ordered the prime rib special for him and it was decided I'd nibble off of his plate. The waitress (bar tender) caught onto our plan and she had the chef serve it on two plates, including the shrimp cocktail app that came with the meal, and we each got a whole baked potato. We ended up with quite a feast and the food was delicious. The Prime rib was cooked perfectly. Observing the owner coach his daughter on bussing tables was a bonus since she was eager to be working and he was obviously a great dad. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed a wonderfully delicious fish fry with a couple of friends at Cheap Charlie’s! We got there just before 5pm. We were seated quickly, had our menus and drinks right away. Kayla, our server, was very pleasant and professional. Loved their clam chowder, too! I didn’t see their corned beef and cabbage special as I would have definitely had that! I plan on going back soon!

We stopped for Valentine's day dinner. There's a large parking lot with multiple entrances. This was our first time there. Staff was friendly and checked up on us throughout our meal. We didn't feel neglected or bothered. Food was really good! Prime rib was cooked just as I asked, lobster tail was prepared well, not rubbery or under/overcooked. Had the loaded steak fries as an appetizer. To our delight, they weren't store bought fries. They were baked potatoes cut up and prepared. Delicious! Best onion rings we have had too! Definitely recommend stopping here. Prices are good and you won't leave hungry!

I am there monthly for our Lions Club dinner, weekly during golf season and here and there otherwise. Great food, great service and most of all, great ownership. He touches base with everyone at every event in his private dining room, and the menu is always fresh. Since I know one of their prime suppliers, you know it is good. Totally recommend and in this case, why are you not stopping there?

Very good service and food was hot and delicious. Waitress gave us plenty of time to catch up with old friends and didn't hurry us along.

As the name says, the prices are pretty cheap. The food is good. The people are friendly. There is dining inside and outside. The bar area is nice also.

Service was very good. Salad was very good. Fish fry was dry and a little burned, but mashed potatoes were good. Overall a good experience, but I won't order fish again.

The food was great but the service we received was worse than terrible. Waited 20 min for a soda then it wasn't what was ordered. Need another drink had to stop a different waitress. Our waitress never came back except to give us the bill. Also they say on receipt min 15% tip and that should be up to customer.

Had a fish sandwich and a friend had the turkey club. Both excellent with an ice cold Carona. Just wish they had Franks hot sauce. Not a fan of Tabasco.

Food quality is not what it use to be sadly. Fish was under cooked and soup was very thin and watery.

Love cheaps, but our waitress was very pushy and rushing us to order and to leave. I was with a few clients I work for and it was his first time out in a very long time and did not appreciate being rushed to finish eating

Service was excellent, 4 of us ordered different items from the menu. None of looked good and tasted even worse.

I chose the following meal in my first visit here this century. I used to live in Holcomb back in the 80s into the 90s. Turkey Dinner-all white meat, served over homemade stuffing with a side of cranberry sauce Though the description of the meal I was served was spot on I was shocked to be served turkey that was sliced deli meat. Don't get me wrong it was very good. The stuffing was great, the mashed potato was great. The stuffing was great and the service was some of the best service I've ever had in my life. That young girl was taking care of everyone sitting at the bar and all the tables all by herself. But Jesus Christ, sliced deli meat?

Local spot we haven't been to in a very long time. The staff was very nice and very attentive. The food was good, and the waitress even offered us a gluten-free bun that wasn't on the menu. We've heard the prime rib on Friday's is worth a return visit. Update June 2025... Just had the prime rib, and it didn't impress us at all. Unfortunately the ah ju was also lack luster and had zero flavor. The Cesar salad did have good flavor, unfortunately it had twice the amount of dressing it needed. The staff is super nice. Im sure we will return and try something else as its so close to home.

Emily was a top notch server. She was very attentive and got everything correct 😊 A lot of the meals were way over cooked. Onion rings were dry and overcooked. Burger was charred. Fish fry was fried a dark brown (overcooked). Chicken thighs had black overcooked area and it was very dry.

We stood waiting for service for quite some time. The hostess saw us but was helping bring out food. A waitress finally came over and seated us. Not sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves, but it wasn't clear. The food was hit or miss. The menus didn't really explain what the items were. This is fine for Americana staples, but as soon as you list a Charlie's Burger and don't explain what it is, there's a problem. The flavors were good, but the food came relatively plain. No advertised or offered toppings. My blue burger literally came with only blue cheese. The waitress did a great job, but the food suffered. It felt like we needed to be regulars and specify to the letter what we wanted. The main entrance sits opposite the parking area and if you use the parking side entrance, you have to run the bar gauntlet. With kids, this can be awkward. Finally, Cheap Charlie's is anything but cheap. Two modest entrees and 3 kids meals ran us $70 before tip. The food was tasty, but plain and not worth the price.

Horrible service, food not brought out. Food was not that great. Giving it a 2 because we were here before and not as bad . But still only a 3ish.

I used to go there once a week with a friend for lunch. It was always a decent meal and reasonably priced. Not the last time!! Since the new owners took over prices have risen and portions have shrunk. We both had lunch fish fries and the portions we pitiful, for $12? Between lunch, one beer each, tax and tip the bill was $46. Never going back!!!

Spaghetti was cold, there was mold in the parmesan cheese shaker, after we got our food we were told the system was down so we would have to pay cash only. There was no atm on site, but a bank a little way down the road. Not a good experience like we used to get from previous owners. Probably won't be going back. It used to be a regular place for our family gatherings.

Berger was supposed to be medium, but was well done and DRY. They were supposed to add a 18% charge for having a large party, but charged 20%. First and last time there.

we were the only customers dining, was still very slo. I ordered the Charlie burger. in the description of the burger, it says you get onion rings on it. ordered that with onion rings on the side. my burger came out with a singular onion ring, and a literal slice on onion, straight from the bulb. asked waitress why it only came with one on the burger and she said "it only comes with one." told her the menu said "onion rings" and all she said was "I'm not sure why it says plural, it only has one." onion rings are mostly batter as well.

I really can't think of anything positive to say. Food was well below average. I don't think they could have watered down the salad dressing any more than they did. Tables word sticky and I was told they were just old and it was the best they were going to be. Cheap Charlie's is because they haven't put a dime into it for 30 years.

We waited over 50 minutes for cold wings with barely any sauce on them. Cold french fries. People who ordered after us got their food before us. Never got asked if we wanted refills on drinks.

Very disappointed ordered 8 fish fries because I remember it being very good. A very small helping of French fries maybe 15 and coleslaw was horrible, spoiled. I was embarrassed serving my guests not to mention what I spent on it. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Drinks from bar not made properly...fish fry was soggy from oil...fryer with oil not hot enough to crisp fish...prime rib overcooked...thin slice of meat..low quality prime rib...grisly with lots of fat...bread was sliced cheap hamburger rolls...salad was good...but a small plate...kept falling off plate onto table...spent $143...4 people...waste of money...never go there again...blessed myself when I left...promising to never return

Fish fry was soaked in grease, spaghetti was brought out on a plate with resting in alot of water. Chicken french breaded however it was on top of wet spaghetti in water and extremely tasteless!!! Not a pretty dining room,they over charge for the poor quality of food,lack of dining room quality. No music ,no live dining music. Clearly the kitchen is lacking cooking skills or they are just lazy. Cheap Charlie's was known for quality food , what happen ?? Clean bathroom and clean dining area, silverware clean, they give regular Italian bread with butter. This place needs Bar Rescue.

Imagine being in the hospitality business, promoting a vendor selling confederate flag stickers at an event in your parking lot. We’ve had to send multiple dishes back (chicken French with watered-down sauce; garbage plates without meat sauce) and have always been willing to work it out so that we could support this local business. At least we won’t have to worry about them getting our order wrong anymore. Hate has no business here, and we will have no issue taking our business someplace else.

Coffee mugs were gross. Not a great menu. They’re listed as a seafood restaurant but only have calamari and a fish dinner for seafood on the menu. Took forever to even order. The menu says the calamari comes with cocktail sauce but it came with marinara and I couldn’t even flag down the waiter for anything. We gtfo quick. Left still hungry and disappointed.

I had a broiled fish not the best and I also had sweet potato fry they were cold the Cole slaw had lettuce in it tasted not good. My husband had fish fry was not good the french frys had no taste they did give a baked potato in its place it was all mush the clamchower was not it was soup.

I hate to even give them 1 star. Took my son & family out for his 50th birthday. Have eaten here a few times & the food was good, having said that tonight it was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! Some of the food was barely warm, got our salads with the meals, salad dressing was like water, one meal was mostly burnt, the spaghetti and meatballs came out without the meatballs and was told at that time they didn’t have any meatballs. The waitress never came back to the table, we were the only people there eating and we finally had to yell at her from across the room to bring our bill. I told her at that time how bad the food was, she told me I would need to speak to the bartender which I did. She went to call the manager at home to inform him/her of my complaints. They said because we had eaten some of the food and didn’t complain right away he would only give me a 10% discount on a $114.00 bill. I told the waitress I couldn’t complain because she never came back to the table to check on us. I know this is a very long review but wanted to let people know how bad it now is. It’s horrible to have to pay that much money for horrible food and service.
