Excellent and fast service. Friendly and helpful staff. The food is truly excellent, with generous portions and fair prices. They were very kind and understanding when I told them we'd be late (40 minutes) due to an unexpected event, and they held our table for us. Highly recommended!
We discovered this cozy little place while strolling through the center of Bologna. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We were truly delighted with the delicious tortellini in broth and the traditional Bolognese cutlet. We loved it so much that we returned for lunch the next day.
Personale gentilissimo e disponibile! Ambiente caloroso, ci si sente a casa! Cibo favoloso.. lasagne divine e dolci super! Non si può volere di più..
It never disappoints, every time I pass through Bologna I stop for a meal at this restaurant, I never leave unhappy. Excellent dishes, the ragù is amazing, but also the other dishes. The staff is very knowledgeable and welcoming! If you don't know where to try some traditional Bolognese dishes I recommend it!
Unexpectedly good and unexpectedly cheap for being in the center!! Excellent food (they make the Petroniana as it should be, without the fuss of adding cream), the fried food was really good, and there's a wide selection of beers and cocktails at a much lower price than elsewhere in Bologna's city center. Delicious desserts, fast and attentive service. Highly recommended!!!
We entered this place attracted by the positive reviews. As appetizers we ordered a Gentile crostino and a mortadella foam. The crostino was very abundant and good. The foam was very good and on the warm and slightly crunchy bread it was perfect. As first courses we had passatelli in broth and handmade tagliatelle with ragù. The passatelli and tagliatelle were handmade, which makes them very good but the passatelli broth was a bit strong while the ragù had a very delicate flavor, personally I would have preferred a stronger flavor. Kind and courteous staff. The availability of wifi was much appreciated. Nice place, we were at the table near the entrance and it was a bit uncomfortable to feel the table vibrate when the door opened.
I stopped in for lunch with my girlfriend during a quick trip to Bologna. We discovered the place through social media. We stopped in and were immediately greeted warmly by the staff, who helped make the experience excellent. They recommended dishes and drinks. The food was excellent, the portions generous, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. If I had to recommend a place to eat in Bologna, this would be my first choice.
The food was so good, went back the next night. Great butter Sage torteloni and bolognese cutlet. Staff was excellent and friendly
OMG, the essence of Italy is here. The food: perfect. The pasta is awesome and the Mortadella was super-delicious. Service: very polite, helpful, and kind. This place was recommended by our host and I don't regret that the first evening in Bologna I spent here. We will visit it again!
We arrived late but owner kindly welcomed us 🥹 the FOOD WAS SO GOOD! This was our first restaurant in Bologna and oh my, the moment we had our first bite we just looked at each other with hearted eyes. Atmosphere is good and the staffs were friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend!!! 💛
We had dinner inside. The starters were very good, followed by a signature burger, exceptional with incredible bread and tomato, and a chicken salad with a hint of citrus. Very refreshing. The service, both from the guy who took our order and from the girl who quickly replaced our still Coke and asked us about it afterward, was a ten. A place we'll return to.
Awesome hidden gem recommended by our Walking Tour Guide. English Menu via QR code. Friendly service. Tap beer! Wifi. Excellent pastas, we ordered three and no mains. Highly recommended!
Beautiful dinner with memorable service! Menu highlight was the tortellini with butter and sage. Loved the Hugo spritz and Moscow Mule, and their gin selection is probably one of the biggest in Bologna ❤️ They’re very tourist friendly, the waitress was super attentive and provided great recommendations
Delicious Bolognese cutlet, lovely service, super friendly staff
A true Bolognese aperitif. Mortadella mousse, Sangiovese, and spritz (with long pasta like a straw). A must-try. Well done!
Informal and quaint atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent variety of beers and traditional food! You'll feel right at home! Highly recommended!!!
We were there last night for dinner with the kids! Really everything was good! The photos speak for themselves! The friggione and mortadella foam were delicious, as were the cutlet and mascarpone.
Very nice and welcoming place! Kind and knowledgeable staff… excellent food, super beers! I always love coming back! 😊😊😊😊😊
Excellent variety of draft beers. Various and tasty menu. Friendly service. I don't know why you don't try it, little room for improvement. Well done @
Great atmosphere, i loved the 70s italian music. Really funky, great vibe. The service is really quick and everyone was super nice. The food was good, pasta is fresh and you can tell
A place right in the city center with excellent food and fantastic beers. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If you want to spend an evening with friends, this is the place to be... Highly recommended
The food is okay, the craft beers are on rotation. What more could you want?
Traditional cuisine open daily. Excellent artisanal tortellini and tagliatelle, and the legendary Frasca cheeseburger with fries. A wide selection of draft beers. A welcoming and informal atmosphere.
The dishes are delicious for cheap prices and the staff is very friendly! 😄
Fun, well-kept place, excellent beer selection, and top-notch food! The staff is incredibly attentive, and the food is delicious, from classics to off-menu options! Highly recommended!
Great atmosphere at La Frasca, a hidden gem in the city centre of Bologna! A warm welcome since the very first step and food here is amazing (check pictures to know more). We met Andrea, and he drove us through the menu you won’t choose only one item from! :) Highly recommended stop if you’re in Bologna! Can’t wait to be back!
I loved the 70’s music they were playing tonight, the chill vibe, and the amazing food. So welcoming. All comfortable speaking English. Just awesome. Food …. Well just look at the photos.
Very good food, served quickly. The waitress was helpful and friendly. Everyone enjoyed it. I recommend it!
Super good Friggione! Mostly onions, and tomatoes — but tasted divine! Sweet, rather than tangy. Will definitely miss this, among many other traditional dishes of Bologna.
The atmosphere is very "bar-like," and the food is very generous. I recommend it more as a bar than a restaurant.
Great Italian, Bolognese food, regional dishes, we've been here 3 days in a row and will come back tomorrow, great service, Perfecto bartender, fantastic atmosphere, greetings from Gdańsk.
I was surprised by the waitress and had a delicious meal. Super cozy, and the service was great!
We had a family lunch at this restaurant, right in the heart of Bologna's vibrant streets. We were able to try the famous Bologna pancakes, "Piadina." Everything was delicious, flavorful, colorful, and generous; we thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was impeccable and quick. A great place to eat in Bologna.
We received our order quickly – sometimes the wait at the Golden Arches restaurant is longer. Shocking. The pasta was delicious :)
Tavern with typical dishes, honest prices and courteous service
Best dinner place in the heart of Bologna! Delicious tortellini in brodo, tasty schnitzel bologna style, very nice staff and incredible drinks with pasta as a straw! We loved every single minute in there!
I love these kinds of restaurants where the menu relies on a few dishes but very well prepared and tasty. We had typical dishes for Bologna and the wine was incredible. The staff speaks english. Just go for it 👍🏻
This was a great stop for me for a solo lunch on Sunday. I saw the table outside by the window and sat down ariund 12.30. The owner was turning away people less than 10 minutes later. I enjoyed a delicious glass of local white wine plus goats cheese salad followed by cherry Panna cotta and an espresso. Service was quick and I really enjoyed my meal.
We loved it. The Piedmontese tagliatta was to die for with that incredible red wine sauce. The craft beers were delicious. Homemade tagliatelle with delicious ragu, and the waiter named Simone was super attentive and recommended dishes; he knows what he's doing. Highly recommended. 100% Bolognese cuisine. We'll be back.
Most delicious Bolognese pasta in town. We have eaten tagliatelle al ragu original recipe without tomato sauce. This dish was delicious. It was the best experience in Bologna so far. We strongly recommend this restaurant. The dish comes with extra cheese.
Great atmosphere and a perfect spot for a drink. We loved how locals moved across the walls when the seats were filled, providing a truly authentic Italian experience.
We arrived at the restaurant at 11:00 PM as other options near our accommodation were empty or their kitchens were closed. I hadn't considered it beforehand, but it was quite busy for a weekday, it's in a beautiful alley in the city center and has very good reviews on the page (*4.5). After seeing the photos of the food that looked delicious, we decided to give it a try. That's where the first negative of the evening happened to us. We went to sit at a table outside, squeezed by a stroller for a small child, people who were with us on the plane, and suddenly the waiter slammed the glass loudly, shouting no no no and sent us to an outside table on the opposite side. I honestly thought he would kick us out as if we had done something bad. The lady told us that she had treated them the same way as soon as they had arrived. In any case, we were not deterred and did not leave. The menu is classic and in English which is very important. The prices are normal. We chose tagliatelle al ragu and cotollete booognese. The tagliatelle was fresh and the minced meat sauce was rich in quantity and very tasty. The quantity of the dish was good. The schnitzel was large, tasty and well-cooked, accompanied by a small salad and fresh French fries. We drank 2 glasses of chardonnay, which were great at only 5 euros a glass. In total we paid 42 euros and we were very happy. The second unexpected thing is the street vendors. We talk and it becomes a mess, they don't leave you alone. They are inexperienced and the shop doesn't chase them away. That's why one star less in the atmosphere.
Simply beautiful - local people eat here (as well as tourists like ourselves), which is always a good sign. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent choice, and the food is just splendid... Heartily recommend! 😎👍🍽️🍷
It was very good
Osteria La Frasca al Vicolo is a culinary treasure! Their pasta with Ragu is an absolute delight, boasting rich flavors and perfectly cooked pasta that transports you to Italy with every bite. And let's talk about their chocolate salami dessert—it's simply divine! The perfect balance of sweetness and richness makes it a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth. In addition to their fantastic pasta and desserts, their salads are also worth mentioning—fresh, flavorful, and a great complement to any meal. The ambiance of the osteria is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. For exceptional Italian cuisine that never disappoints, Osteria La Frasca al Vicolo is the place to be. Five stars well-deserved!
I can only recommend 🫶🏽 Perfect location, fair prices, the people helpful 💪🏽 great place, there are also things for sharing with vegetarian menu
Beautiful restaurant, tagliatelle with ragu was amazing.
A wonderful experience at this little osteria in the center of Bologna. The staff are friendly and super helpful. The tortellini in broth are delicious, but the cotoletta alla bolognese is TOO much! Great value.
Such good handmade pasta with a sauce made from braised onions and tomatoes.
Quaint local spot with good food, atmosphere and service. I had a burger but like most burgers in bologna, and my penchant for rare meat - all the burgers taste way over done to me. Here's another pet peeve for me in Italy. I was in the mood for focaccia bread instead of the usual burger bun and you would have thought I was asking for a bag of cash. The mindset is a bit too rigid and fixed around these parts. But back to the food, the French fries really rocked it.
A small but well-run, "modernized" osteria in the center of Bologna. Local dishes, prompt and attentive service. Excellent for lunch or dinner. The tortellini in brodo are top-notch. Recommended!!!
Very nice service and delicious food.
Superb restaurant in the heart of Bologna's city center. The tagliatelle al ragù is very good and reasonably priced. The staff and service are excellent. Thanks!
The night we went to frasca everything we ordered was amazing and all was eaten. We got the share bowl and it was the best we have had. The only complaint was they the toilet was small, dirty and smelly. We would recommend
Osteria in the center of Bologna, a bit small so I recommend booking. We had an appetizer and two first courses, including the classic tortellini in broth. Everything was good, portions were right. Friendly staff and efficient service. Too bad there was no lasagna, I would have gladly tried it.
Great place. Great music. The ragù is a must-try! I'll definitely be back.
A great place to enjoy traditional dishes. Thanks to Andrea for his hospitality and friendliness. We recommend this restaurant. The mortadella mousse is excellent.
Craving good food? Real food like it should be made in an osteria? And at the right price? Right in the heart of Bologna! Try this osteria. A very popular place so it might be a good idea to book a table. I guess there are many regular customers here. The pictured portions are half. A full portion is double the size of the pictured portion.
I was visiting Bologna and stopped to eat at this osteria, and everything was excellent, from the friendly staff to the food. I recommend it to anyone visiting Bologna.
Very nice place with good service, you can almost get all the traditional food from Bologna here. This is one of the go to places for me in Bologna!
Nice place, comfy and tasty local food 💖
One of the best places in Bologna! The dishes are superb and the prices are super fair!
Cozy, fast and delicious, smiling people, like most Italians. The tortellini were great, the tagliatelle too. We loved it.
You should know that tradition is very important here, and it's good and delicious! If you want boring tourist food, you've come to the wrong place. But if you want authentic, traditional food, this is the place for you!🤤😋😉
I stumbled upon this place after the restaurant I'd planned closed. It had a great value menu and friendly service. The soup was perfect for the rainy weather.
They treated us wonderfully!! Location near the center but with clients from the city. Highly recommended for quality and price
La Frasca is my comfort zone, live there ❤️
Delicious food. Ragu is amazing. Nice drinks. Very supportive staff. Great place to eat and chill - strongly recommended
Ten. We usually review places when we see that the people put their heart into it, so here we are. If there had been the option to give ten stars, we would have. Let's start with the main thing: the food is superb! Tasty first courses, generous and delicious second courses, and the dessert was a killer finish. The atmosphere is truly beautiful! And now, something equally important: the people. These are people who showed us not only their skill but also their generosity and friendliness. The waiters were knowledgeable and friendly, and the owner was a real gem. Just a photo of the first course and the fantastic dessert; we devoured the rest right away! We'll be back soon, that's for sure. Until our next visit to Bologna, Martina and Sara
good atmosphere inside and outside
VERY GOOD. The atmosphere is very warm, the dishes are just right, and the prices are very affordable.
One of my favorite places to eat in Bologna. Came for a quick bite, left my heart in here. If you want to get a quality time, great local food (with great help from owner to choose what to eat or drink), great atmosphere - this is the place to be. Really, you will thank yourself later ;)
Food Excellent Friendly, fast, and professional service The ragù crouton and meatballs were excellent Super generous portions
Top place to spend a night out with friends
Great very friendly service. Nice atmosphere!
A very pleasant place. The food is quite good. The staff is very fast.
Adorable place, super nice waiter, extremely great food and craft beer selection. And you sit right in the middle of everything. We had Tortelloni with butter and sage, and Tagliatelle Ragú. Both simply yet super tasty. This is what I imagine when eating out in Bologna.
I recommend trying the friggione...everything was delicious from start to finish
Passing through Bologna to try tortellini, we couldn't have chosen better, excellent food and the owner and waiter were incredibly kind, we'll be back!!
Very good food and desserts. Friendly service. The place doesn't serve Coperto, so I recommend leaving a tip.
Had lunch on a crowded Saturday, yet service was very attentive. The waiter patiently explained the difference between their tortellini and tortelloni, which is crucial for a person with dietary restrictions. The tortelloni with butter and sage is easily one of the best vegetarian pasta I’ve had.
Atmospheric place. Great service and delicious food. Cutlet ala bolognese was delicious.
Highly recommended on TicTok and it did not disappoint. Booked a table earlier in the day and glad we did. No open tables available. For starter we had Crostini with Lardo. Melts in your mouth! I had the tagliatelle and my wife the Gramigna! Top notch! Service was perfect! If you get a chance read the negative reviews, the manager’s responses are spot on. I met him during dinner and he had a laugh! At the end we were treated to a local digestive. A+
Delicious!!! Very pleasant atmosphere, very good service, excellent food!!
Centrally located in one of Bologna's historic neighborhoods, the atmosphere is pure Bolognese. Quick service and friendly staff. The menu offers a good selection of Bolognese specialties and signature cocktails. The only downside is the portion of tortellini, which, despite being delicious, was very small. The price is fair for a place in the center of Bologna.
A small but intimate restaurant located in the heart of Bologna, literally steps from Piazza Maggiore. The staff is courteous and attentive, and the service is quick and efficient. The menu isn't extensive but offers traditional Bolognese dishes, all delicious. Good value. The owner even gave us a small discount, which was much appreciated. Highly recommended!
The downtown branch of the larger and more well-known restaurant on Via Costa. The atmosphere is casual, with a small, narrow, and long space with just a few tables (there are also outdoor tables and a space in a restaurant across the street). Reservations are recommended to avoid disappointment, and you can also book online on the website. The staff is courteous but formal; the staff in the main restaurant is more friendly and/or rowdy. The food is good and the price is reasonable. Delicious bruschetta and crostini! Definitely worth a try.
Compared to places with more tradition and history, this "little hole", located in the famous quadrilateral, is a good compromise between the modern and the culinary history of this splendid city. Good tortellini in brodo, excellent fettuccine al FRIGGIONE and also the rest absolutely decent. The drinks are very good and the prices are acceptable. Recommended
Osteria La Frasca al Vicolo: a charming atmosphere, but some details could be improved I dined at Osteria La Frasca al Vicolo, a charming restaurant located in one of the city's most picturesque alleys. The atmosphere is truly pleasant, with a cozy and authentic feel reminiscent of old-fashioned osterias. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making us feel immediately at home. As for the food, the cured meats are excellent and are certainly one of the menu's highlights. However, the pasta didn't quite live up to expectations: the tortelloni were a bit too al dente and cold in the center, which slightly detracted from the experience. Overall, it's a place worth a visit for the atmosphere and friendly service, but there's room for improvement in the attention to detail. With a few tweaks in the kitchen, it could become a must-visit osteria.
Very good food, small portions however. Excellent service, well priced
Friendly staff who spoke good English. The food was good, although the portions were quite small.
Good value for money and friendly service. The only negative was the cutlet, which was good but, in my opinion, inferior to many other restaurants in the center.
The Food was 👍 The french fries was not edible, almost black, Maybe fried more then one time
A centrally located place with traditional food and good value for money. The food was good and the service was very attentive and friendly. The only problem was that it was a bit slow.
Good was fantastic with a good selection. Unfortunately it’s really understaffed. I saw 3 tables walk away outside without service. No fault of the staff, it was just one girl running around trying to serve everyone and one person behind the bar making drinks.
It's good, but a few more pastas wouldn't be a luxury. The lady is alone in the entire restaurant, which may explain some of the slowness. A shame, but worth a try anyway.
Distinctive wine selection, excellent menu with excellent food quality 👍🏻
We came here last minute and manage to get a table. The waitress was really kind. The food was super tasty but the quantities are a bit small, the house wine was great. The atmosphere was nice but it felt less cozy than other restaurants in that area.
Just steps from the center. Small and informal place. Friendly and helpful staff. Good traditional dishes.
The staff were very kind, the gramigna was delicious, but the real highlight was the mascarpone cream: I've never found such a good cream in a restaurant. Congratulations!
Typical Bolognese lunch with tagliatelle, tortellini, picci, and cotoletta. We found everything very good and reasonably priced, highly recommended!
A no-frills restaurant, simple yet welcoming. The menu is simple, featuring traditional dishes carefully prepared using genuine ingredients. The service is friendly but never intrusive, making you feel right at home. Excellent value, especially considering the location. Highly recommended!
Good, not great. Fast service and good price
Very nice environment, very kind girls
Busy place on a busy food street close the center of Bologna. Crowded but bustling vibe for lunch, serving up plenty of Bolognese classics like tortellini, cold cuts, bruschette etc. Nice place to sit and enjoy the liveliness of the city with a cold drink.
Really great little place, the food is great. Hopefully they don't put stools on this side of the alley after my incident. I was sitting on this stool and it fell sideways (see the lean??) with me on it and my leg is injured so bad I have to cancel my trip. So I came to Italy to sit in a dangerous stool and then go home 😭 oh and no one in this alley helped me up or asked if I was okay which I actually thought was hilarious
We chose this restaurant to sample typical Bolognese dishes. We chose the tagliatelle al ragu and the lasagna verde alla bolognese. The food wasn't impressive. The lasagna wasn't salty enough, even bland. The pasta with ragu tasted good but seemed a bit dry, as if it lacked sauce.
A small osteria right in the heart of the old town, where life is vibrant! We tried the homemade tagliatelle al ragu and crostini, all very good. They also have a good beer menu with a varied selection.
I didn't love the Ragu Bruschetta but their gramigna alla salsiccia was a dream plus they made the Best Negroni I've had in Italy so far. The mascarpone cream and the Nociolla digestive were amazing too, but the best part was the service
Excellent tavern in the historic center with first-rate ingredients... Almost perfect Bolognese cutlet (because perfection doesn't exist :-))
Very friendly service, good appetizers, though hard to digest. The tagliatelle were good, but the extremely salty ragù ruined the dish—a shame. The atmosphere was nice, but it was a shame we were in a street-facing restaurant, so half the food was warm and half the food was cold.
A charming place nestled in the narrow streets of Bologna. The traditional dishes are good, but not exceptional. I had a slightly thick tagliatelle with white ragù, which was delicious; a bruschetta with prosciutto and roasted squacquerone cheese; and some fried mozzarella balls as an appetizer, which I don't recommend because I think they were frozen. I'd definitely go back for the tagliatelle, which were very good!
A very nice tavern and brewery in the center of Bologna. Typical Bolognese dishes are delicious and plentiful. We had the gramigna with cream and ragù (excellent and a generous portion) and the passatelli in brodo (very good and flavorful, I would have just appreciated more broth). Fast and efficient service, a comfortable and quiet table inside at the back of the restaurant. Excellent prices for being right in the center, in proportion to the quality and portions. I really appreciated the fact that you can book, unlike many downtown restaurants. I will definitely be back! A great find! EDIT: It's a real shame they've raised the prices so much (the quality/price ratio was the best thing). Perhaps, unfortunately, they're adapting to tourists. How sad.
This just didn't live up to the reviews. We had trouble accessing the menu electronically even after connecting to their wifi. We were brought paper menus. There are very limited vegetarian options. I had the Eggplant "Schnitzel" and the breading was crisp but the eggplant tasted underripe and had little flavor. My partner had the meat Schnitzel, but didn't care for the taste either. There are tables inside and on the sidewalk.
Food was quite disappointing to be fair. The staff were good and friendly people. Overall, wouldn’t consider going again.
Tourist bar/ restaurant. Large beer menu but first 2 we ordered were not available. Food was over seasoned.
I was not impressed with the dishes we ordered. However, the appetizer was good.
The food tasted very good, but the portions weren't particularly large. I ordered typical tortellini for €12...but unfortunately, there weren't many tortellini on the plate. The service was very quick and always friendly. Nice atmosphere in a side street.
Most disappointed in the food. The wine was bad as well. They can do better.
It's in the heart of the street food scene, so you might find yourself drawn to nearby eateries and stopping here. But that's a mistake. The place isn't much to look at, the food is bland, there are some gross errors (I had the mortadella mousse instead of crescentine as advertised on the menu, but they served me plain slices of bread), and the prices are certainly not cheap. Personally, it's a bit of a disappointment. It's a shame.
Really surprised with high reviews here! Food is average nothing special. I also ordered hugo spritz and it was too sweet, almost like they’ve put a few spoons of sugar in it! I told the waitress and was expecting her to replace it with another one but so rudely she said spritz should be very sweet and I have no idea about drinks!! That was very insulting! Not happy with our experience and would not recommend it! Portions are small and expensive for what you get!
Disappointing, a tourist joke. We ordered cresceta and they served these slices of bread. We asked for clarification and, in an unfriendly tone, they told us it was crescenta... as a Bolognese, I've never seen crescenta made like this.
I've never had such bad prosecco!
Lasagna looked and tasted like dogfood, bread was hard and also tasted bad
Sometimes Google ratings burn you...This place is not a 4.8 (at time of writing), closer to a 3.5. The crostini was disappointing with poor quality bacon and cheese. The ragu lacked any depth of flavour and I have read the owners response to previous comments on this, I must disagree with those responses. I have eaten in three different restaurants in Bologna to sample their Ragu (Bolognese), they used tomato and had seasoning - here it is bland and dry.
Takeaway dish of the day (pappardelle with pheasant and chanterelle ragù) had very little pheasant and very little pappardelle. A paltry portion for €15...a bit ridiculous.
