Went there from New Jersey tonight. The food was so good and the service was wonderful. Adam was the best. He is a very knowledgeable and professional. We will make the trip "over the bridge" again for sure..

Great Place to sit down unwind with a great glass of wine and really good Food.

A little on the dark side however service was e exemplary, the menu choices varied. The pear gorgonzola salad was good, the pulpo, shrimp, calamari appetizer was wonderful as was the halibut daily special entrée. Wine list was comprehensive.

Classic Italian food, decor, old time feel and great atmosphere reminiscent of years gone by. It's nice to know people still do things the old fashioned way. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a great experience and a feel good night out.

Oh my goodness, the food was absolutely delicious. Chicken was so tender you could cut it with a fork . Caesar salad was generous and delicious. Nice wine menu . Atmosphere very nice . The owner was very friendly and accommodating. I recommend this restaurant!

We celebrated tonight at a great restaurant. The food is always good here. Service was great it was a Tuesday night so not busy we got to pick our seats and also were able to turn off the tv for a more intimate dinner. Wish i had taken more photos. The Steak was like Butta. Meaning it was very good.

Did a Google search for Italian restaurants in Staten Island and Il Sogno came up as one of the top 10. I can actually say we Finally found A very nice Italian restaurant with great food AND service in Staten Island! The ambience, the decor, the Italian music, all added to the wonderful dining experience. The service was on point. We were not rushed, there was a small pause between courses, which is one of the things that I liked about this restaurant . There is nothing worse than just finishing the last bite of your appetizer and boom out comes your dinner. Another thing about the excellent service is that they do not clear any dishes off the table until everyone at your table has finished eating. Very classy! As I have learned from my father, who was maître d' at a very upscale restaurant in Manhattan for over 40 years, it is a BIG no no to clear dishes while people are still eating at your table. It makes it very uncomfortable for the last person that is still eating. Now let's get to the food. We started with fried calamari. Crispy fresh and delicious. For dinner, I had the Pappardelle Burrata . Delicious tomato sauce and the Pappardelle were cooked to perfection, Al dente . After dinner, we had cappuccino and shared a piece of Italian cheesecake. It was Delicious. Il Sogno is definitely a great restaurant .

They had over a dozen different specials to choose from and each one sounded better than the next. We ordered baked clams HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Also chose the stuffed Avocado which sounded interesting. It was topped with crabmeat and a shrimp cocktail with spicy mayo. EXCELLENT. For our dinner I ordered the angus steak and she ordered the squid ink fettuccine fra divalo. Both were incredible . Vibes inside were nice as they had live music during dinner. Overall a great experience. A hidden gem.

Nice little Italian restaurant close to the West End of Staten Island. Food dishes good but a bit pricey and NOT a BYOB. If your looking for a nice quiet romantic dinner or, a dinner with family or friends to talk, Do NOT go here on a Saturday night. There is a singing DJ that is quite good but the high volume is not conducive to the above mentioned! There is also a small dance floor. I have been here many times before and, I will go back but NOT on a Saturday night!

Il Sogno Ristorante Italiano was underwhelming. The food was just average, service was poor, and the atmosphere is nothing special. Unfortunately, there's not much to recommend here - the overall experience fell short of expectations.

My family and I went there for a family members birthday. My immediate reaction upon walking in was how dark it was in there. It was honestly annoying. I like dim lighting, but it was really too much. Staff was not friendly. Always felt like a bother. The service was slow-- we asked for things multiple times. Our waiter's hands smelled heavily of cigarette smoke; we noticed it every time he handed us something. That was a turn off for sure. The food portions were large, plenty to take home. But I wasn't blown away by it. Same with the dessert. It was just ok in my opinion. I would try other places before going back.

I give this place three stars. The food is excellent. The service is excellent. Wine list is great. My problem is that the portions are very small for the price. 10 rigatoni for $25? Come on. Penne vodka with shrimp, 5 shrimp, $30? Come on. Great romantic date spot, but you will spend $100 for dinner and two drinks, no appetizer, and actually leave hungry.

Great food. Good service. Beware families who wish to host a christening or 1st birthday here. They do not have a changing table in the bathrooms. Not one woman worked our party so of course the men that I spoke to thought it was funny that it was an inconvenience.

We were there last night for Christmas Eve. At best the food was eatable. The prices were high which I expected but the quality of the food, the preparation and the presentation were lacking. I’ll take Angelina’s any day of the week over this restaurant. Very disappointing. Hardly any fish on the menu. They should know better for an Italian “upscale” restaurant.

Came to this place twice on a Saturday.. The food was ok. The waiter did his job. I went on a Thursday and the waiter with the eyeglasses was extremely rude. I ask him when do they have music and he didn’t want to answer me snd brushed me off Then I ask for red wine and he brushed me off again and he wouldn’t look at me . As if I had done something wrong. He went to get the wine. He disrrespect me And I felt so bad. I was never treated like that ever in no restaurant. I usually tip 25 percent and more when I dine out. I got up with my husband and left. Try to tell the manager but, I was so upset proper words did not come out.. Be careful with this individual. I don’t want you to feel so ignored and disrespected. I will never go there again.

Went for dinner last week was handed a paper menu with specials no prices listed expected to pay a little more they doubled the price 79 .95 for Dover sole dinner can get in best restaurants 48 00 beware they get you on the specials

I am also very surprised people have given this restaurant 4 or 5 stars. Service yes, atmosphere yes, but food absolutely not. Let’s start with the mushy wet baked clams, couldn’t eat a 2 Nd one for the breadcrumbs was nasty, fried calamari was rubber, and Lobster Bisque was dark in color, no lobster chunks and watery! So that set the taste buds off by the time the main entree, another disappointment & was nothing spectacular for $35 2 couples with a few drinks was $350. We will not be returning!!! Extremely Disappointed!!!

Very poor service. Seated next to partition in wall practically in the middle of a thoroughfare for staff. No offer for black pepper or Parmesan cheese for my pasta. Never again!!!

Ordered baked clams and Kobe beef meatballs appetizers, both were barely warm, 4 very small meatballs were swedish tasteless clams cold and very chewy. When I complained to the waiter I was told I already eat some. We had two meatballs and 4 clams before we realized they were cold. I said how would I know if I didn't eat any. Manager also with an attitude said the same. Entry was seabass, also cold. Theres no way it was freshly made for all to be cold.. No apology no compassion. BTW drinks also very bad. Buyer beware this place only wants your money not your business..

We got take out, I had the papardelle with Burrata because I had a pregnancy craving and it was awful. The sauce had ZERO flavor, the papardelle was extra thick and we also had the Chicken Tiffi which was bland but at least it had a good amount of vegetables. It was incredibly overpriced and I know this part of the island lends itself to that. Never again. I can see when I went to pick up that people may come more for the atmosphere but for takeout it's a pass.

Next, who in Gods name serves INSTANT potatoes at a so called upscale Italian restaurant. I was like you have got to be kidding me, I’ve worked in many restaurants some very upscale and we would never serve instant potatoes. Hell I worked at an Ivy League college that served close to 2,000 for dinner and we had REAL potatoes!!! My food was lukewarm at best and definitely lacked in flavor and portion. Appetizers were extremely overpriced as well as everything on the very limited Christmas Eve menu. So in closing we spent a little over $500 for a minus 5 star restaurant that I highly recommend not patronizing.

Disappointing experience , especially for a Christmas Eve meal! Not only was the entrance of the restaurant blocked and cluttered with karaoke singers belting out loud renditions of baseball stadium opening songs and 1970’s Goldie's, they decided to contribute to the chaotic atmosphere by allowing random people to loudly croon a multitude of 4th of July hits …instead of Christmas songs or mello music. Absolutely zero consideration for the customers who came to enjoy a peaceful “ Christmas” meal with their families. Not festive nor appropriate…especially on Christmas Eve. The poorly designed menu consisted of an ornate design that made it almost impossible to read the menu without using your cell phone camera and/or flashlight. The food was served lukewarm and was mediocre at best. The audacity to serve instant mashed potatoes (yes it is so) dry greasy chicken cutlets and claim to be high end! I don’t even eat instant mashed potatoes at home which is where I wish we had eaten.. Honestly, for the $500 plus my family paid, we could have and will in the future choose a venue that is truly customer centered instead of a restaurant that felt like a seedy corner bar.

I was excited to have dinner at the restaurant with my husband for the first time there, but it turned out to be a terrible experience. The clams were definitely expired; they tasted so unfresh and bad that I almost threw up. The shrimp was of very poor quality, adding to our disappointment. The biggest shock came when we ordered Penne Vodka with shrimp, and it arrived without the shrimp. When my husband started eating, he found a big piece of rubber plastic in his dish. When we pointed it out, the response we received was incredibly rude. The staff member said, "I have no idea where it came from," and claimed that they didn't have such items in the kitchen. Instead of sincerely apologizing, he tried to blame us, as if we would put something like that in our food ourselves. The service was absolutely disgusting, and we had to leave immediately. We were very disappointed and I do not recommend this place at all. Waiter was horrible and rude. They just care about the money and not the customers, feeding people garbage. I wish they had A ZERO rating that I could put out for you.
