Great food, we tried the Loaded nachos, Ribs and chicken combo and a double serving of Fried pickles. Everything was great, the kids loved it and we were all stuffed. Good selection of beers and a Skrewball to start things off.
An excellent value! Good beer, the black lager is my fav, good service, Kayla was great, some memorable food at reasonable prices. Seriously, if you're lucky enough to be there when the soup of the day is "Chicken Tortilla", DO NOT pass it up!! The southwest egg rolls are also memorable.
I have just been to this restaurant because a friend wanted to check why its reputation was so bad. My friend used to go here quite often and he loved the food and the drinks so he couldn’t understand why it has such few stars and so many bad reviews. So, we wanted to investigate. Honestly everything was pretty great, the atmosphere was very chill and the servers have been super nice. Santiago did a great job, he was super polite and refilled my drink without me asking him. The food is also great for the price. So, I really don’t get why so many bad reviews. The place is amazing. P.S. the food was so good that I couldn’t wait to take a picture of it. The smell grabbed my attention faster than my aesthetic sense.
Came here to watch UFC 318. The bartenders Kat and Steven were absolutey amazing. So attentive. Amazing food and drinks. This will be a go to for me in downtown Boston.
Went with a big group last night and had a great time!! Wanted to review to say that our waitress, yomara (sorry if this is spelt wrong!) was fantastic!! She handled our large group so well and was so sweet and friendly. The drinks were great and so were the nachos!! I have had some bad experiences with customer service in Boston but this was amazing and I will definitely be back!
Really great spot! Nothing to blow you away, but the service was excellent (and food came out fast!), they played a lot of good bops (also at a volume you can still comfortably talk over), and this was one of the first bars in Boston I didn't dislike the coleslaw. The fries were excellent, I got the turkey club which is pretty standard but I wasn't disappointed, and the prices were reasonable, especially for downtown Boston. Is this a take your visiting parents for dinner place? No. But it's a decent first date location, or if you're like me, a good place to get food after seeing a performance at one of the theaters nearby.
We were visiting Boston for the night and walked downtown for a place to have dinner, Rock Bottom definitely called our attention. The atmosphere was great, good music, service was really friendly from the start. We had nachos, shrimps, and pizza with a decent wine, and it was good!!... Overall experience was lots of fun. #Highlyrecommended by @Aventure.dos and @soIsayIcancook
Nice spot with outdoor seating and large indoor bar area. Kevin was a nice waiter who makes a mean drink!! I had the bourbon peach smash and loved it. The menu had good choices and he hooked me up with a special chicken sandwich. The fries and toppings on my sandwich were on point. I never finish my meal and I actually did this time. Would definitely go back.
Inviting staff, and Robb was very knowledgeable on their beer recommendations. We had planned to bar hop all night but loved the atmosphere and the food, so we decided to keep it here for the evening..Don’t come here without trying the Kolsh and the Cider. Couldn’t photo the food fast enough, it was that good!
I have had multiple great experiences at rock bottom. Staff is very friendly and food is decent. I like the design of the place, as it opens up from the front to connect with its outside seating. Has an ideal location and is a good spot for drinks. All around a good vibe. Fish tacos - 5/5 I liked the fish tacos. Close to great fish taco spots in California.
Sydney was absolutely wonderful and the food was incredible. Wonderful dining experience.
It is our number one place to go for watching sports! They have absolutely delicious food (highly recommend Firecracker shrimps!!!) and a great variety of home-brewed bear. We have tried a couple of different bears and loved them. Can’t wait to get back and try everything else they have!
Really really good place vibe is awesome the place is clean the service is great and the food is delicious had bbq and a few others and they wer just wat I wanted. Definitely a place to go to if u are in Boston and want some good good wings. Great service by our waitress
We had Wendy as our server. She was excellent! As a family with 2 young kids it could be difficult to enjoy a night out and find a place with good kids options. This place has great options for kids, and they enjoyed it very much. Beers are tasty, and the burgers are great!
Wendy was exceptional! We are visiting from NC and just wanted a quick dinner across from our hotel. From the moment we sat down she made us feel important and gave awesome service. She was friendly, upbeat and personable. Awesome server! And great food!
We had a fantastic time at Rock Bottom for my friends birthday! They accommodated our table of 10 even when we had a couple people join. The food was fantastic, prompt, and HOT. The best part of our time was our server Sydney. She was attentive on all of our requests, knowledgeable on the menu, and provided prompt service all night. Would recommend again. Also, fantastic Onion Rings.
Waitress was nice. Veggie burger and fried chicken were very good. Didn’t get any drinks so cannot attest to those. My only suggestion is that we would have loved to sit outside but they said outdoor seating was closed. Would come again
This place is FANTASTIC!! Our waitress was wonderful, very friendly. The food we got, pulled pork loaded Mac and cheese and a Philly cheese steak sandwich, was soooo good! My husband got beer and said: "The regular tap beer (bud light) was good, tasted very fresh. And their beer was AWESOME!! Will DEFINITELY be going back for more!" I got a margarita with mango and it was also very good. Just the right amount of everything! Definitely a 10 out of 10
Wendy was an amazing server! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. The mango habanero chicken was delicious. She truly made the experience enjoyable we’ll definitely ask for her again!
We went to an impromptu early dinner at Rock Bottom after attending a show at the nearby Shubert. (It was early October-meant to post sooner) We were able to get a seat half inside, half outside which was perfect since we couldn't decide if we should eat in or out. No reservation needed around 5pm on a Saturday, unlike some other nearby restaurants. The food was outstanding, priced reasonably and the staff were lovely. We had two servers, one male (Rigoberto?) and one female, wish I remembered her name she was so sweet. Both so welcoming, kept checking on us, and we didn't feel rushed even though it was getting busy. You always take a chance trying a new place but we were so glad we chose Rock Bottom. Thank you for a great experience!
Got waters and southwest egg rolls and they were pretty good, but the best part of our experience was EMILY our server. She was so nice and she showed my wife a website to buy her cute glasses from. Thank you so much for your amazing glow. We look forward to seeing you again!!!
Hubby and I came in for dinner before our show. We both ordered the 6 oz steak. Cooked exactly how we ordered. The food, drinks and dessert were fabulous. Our server, Wendy, was on top of her game. Friendly, funny, and just the right amount of attention! If you haven’t eaten here you need to! Ask for Wendy! She’s the best!
We ended up at Rock Bottom by default—it’s one of the only options in a part of Boston surprisingly short on restaurants. That said, it delivered far more than expected. The place had a busy sports bar vibe and looked a bit understaffed, but service was efficient and helpful, especially when it came to accommodating my mobility scooter. Not overly friendly, but they got the job done and didn’t make accessibility an issue. Drinks were great, fish tacos were fresh, fries and wings were excellent, and the steak was well cooked and full of flavour. We shared one dessert to finish and it was a nice touch. For Boston, the value was impressive—$126 for four mains, four drinks, and one dessert. Wouldn’t hesitate to return if in the area again.
Solid bar food… the flight of beer was good. Ate the fish tacos. A bit loud because the World Series was on, but all in all it’s a solid place.
Really great and spacious restaurant! Service and the food were excellent. Our food came out in reasonable time and it was about as good as you could expected. Would love to go back next time.
I was a little surprised to hear that rock bottom is still open. They had their hay day, a decade or two ago on being a restaurant and micro brewery. Kind of like a Gordon Birsch kind of vibe. The beers are still pretty good and the food is pub. Overall, pretty good experience.
Went on a Monday night, Monday being s holiday, went right after the Blue Man group show at Charles Playhouse. There was a little crowd, but enough tables for everyone. The food was good. Got the deviled eggs, they were good, the egg was a bit over cooked but I still ate them all! Then we got a order of nacho’s with beef topping, they were HUGE! They were very good only complaint is would add more hamburger topping, there was hardly any on it. Then ordered the Philly cheesesteak in a bowl without bread and a side of green beans. It was good! The place was clean with friendly service, bathrooms also clean. Overall good place, probably wouldn’t go out of my way to go back there but still was worth trying!
Had lunch there on our Boston trip, and enjoyed the food and drinks. Our server was very attentive, and friendly. We liked the calamari, as well ad the nachos. Decent atmosphere and lots of ball games.
Coleslaw Conundrum: The coleslaw, served in a modest portion, left much to be desired. Its lackluster flavor and sole reliance on red cabbage resulted in a dish that was both bland and uninspired. For BBQ aficionados, coleslaw can be a pivotal side dish, and unfortunately, this version didn't rise to the occasion. A suggestion to the chef: consider revamping the recipe or perhaps removing it from the menu in favor of something more exciting. Pulled Pork Perfection: On a brighter note, the pulled pork sandwich was a culinary triumph! The pork was tender, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by a soft, fresh bun. It's a dish that truly showcases the restaurant's BBQ prowess. Fries to Die For: The fries were another highlight - crispy, hot, and perfectly seasoned. They're the ideal sidekick to any BBQ main course. Beverage Blip: The Arnold Palmer drink could use some tweaking. It's a classic that, when done right, can elevate the entire meal. Final Thoughts: Rock Bottom delivers a solid BBQ experience, particularly with their standout pulled pork and fries. While there are areas for improvement, particularly the coleslaw and beverage selection, the overall experience is satisfying. I'd definitely come back, especially if they take my tips on the coleslaw and Arnold Palmer to heart. Here's to good BBQ and better sides! Would I Return? Yes, for the BBQ, and in anticipation of an improved coleslaw and drink menu!
For a chain, I think this place does a good job! The food was enjoyable, and the staff did everything they could to accommodate us in light of COVID. They had a good beer selection, and we enjoyed our visit to Rock Bottom.
I came here for a quick meal b4 a show me and my partner were going to see. He had a cob salad which he said was really good. It looked really good and I had the crispy fish and chips. It was sooo yummy. Out waitress was very nice as well
"Rock bottom" insinuates something at its lowest. Nowhere left to go. As bad as it gets. But Rock Bottom Brewery can go lower. Much lower. Mostly because it's actually very high. Yeah, I like this restuarant.
The veggie burger and the Orange burger were not brilliant. The Hazy IPA was exceptional, worth a visit. Other than that, a very usual American sports bar.
Ok. Beers nothing to write about but its a decent place to meet friends. Food is sub bar bar food. Bar food straight from Sysco catering prob. Good service.
Typical bar grill chain restaurant. The menu is the usual mix of sandwiches and bowls. Beer is mostly in house brews, which are good. There's a full bar. Service is polite, but disorganized: empty tables while waiting for 20 to 30 for seating, wrong orders, and vanishing waiters hurt the experience. Overall, not bad, but not great.
We ordered wagyu olives, French dip and classic burger for take out. The whole experiance was just okay. Everything was on time for pickup. The burgers and French dip with Waffel fries were good, very moist and tasty. We were just really disappointed by the wagyu olives they had on their menu as shareable. It is not at all what it look like on their website Pic. We orderd two for 8 bucks each and they were basically 6 or 7 olives in there fried with a bit of bread crumbs on top. You can't even taste the wagyu beaf which might have justified the hefty price but there wasn't a significant amount in there. Too expensive for just olives. Other wise decent.
Mediocre food with limited beer selections. For a chain that brews its own beer, I expected much more variety, but disappointed to find out that the options weren’t huge and some weren’t available. For food, I got the umami wagyu burger, and I liked that they put grilled Brussel sprouts which served nicely as a substitute for lettuce. The medium rare patty wasn’t very appetizing as it was quite dry on the inside. Overall, most of their menu seemed a little overpriced for their quality, but their service was good.
Lots of empty table. They would not let us in without a reservation. We made the reservation on the spot (they were available). Hostess made us wait 30 min., while others entered and were sat immediately. Very slow general service. Tater tots appetizer was great, burgers and pizza were fine.
Quite possibly the worst Jambalaya I have ever had. Shrimp was cold, rice was dry and clumpy and the flavor was unimpressive. Maybe leftovers? Service was good but not enough to overcome the disappointing dinner.
A customer complained his food had gone cold after ten minutes of him picking at it. The server gave the food to me, because of my brown skin. That is not just rude but disgusting. This location has a long. history of gross practices, smell of sewer water at the bar, and reneging on offers. I had waited for different managers for improvement but they are rarely present to ensure policy is followed. The current manager is just as bad and ingenuine with fake offers. The rating proves it.
Kate was so rude and didn't split the check for our party. 14 people were in our party and we were here to celebrate after our show at the Opera House, but kate made it a bad experience. The food is good but if Kate is there, you're having a bad night. However, Kayla was amazing!! And was an amazing server!
Was staying in Boston and went to rock bottom brewery (aptly named) because the website advertised a $19.95 ribeye special for Jan 19th 2026. Sounded good to me. We walked through 28° cold .5 miles to get there around 4:30. It was deserted. Sat at the bar. After ordering beers we ordered the steak special. The bartender told us “oh…….we don’t do that special anymore” I asked if the manager could speak with us since we came there SPECIFICALLY for the special. She refused to talk to us and cowardly sent the bartender back to say “sorry…..we aren’t gonna honor that” We ordered a burger instead and it was just OK. to rock bottom brewery…..you are earning your namesake. Remove the special from your website if you aren’t “doing it anymore”. Poor job.
Diabolically priced drinks for the quality you get. I feel like I’m drinking diluted Robitussin mixed with Pepto Bismol. Not to mention how small the drinks are. I prefer a size that keeps me awake at night (unfair competition if you compare it to my man). The environment was half decent until school children (accompanied by chaperones) flooded into the establishment so heavily, I’m surprised a tsunami siren didn’t start to blare. While the chaperones bear the responsibility of controlling the children, it is still up to the MANAGEMENT of this establishment to keep the environment of the business under control. Anyone in business or anyone who owns a business, knows that the environment of an establishment is vital to its success. You strive for repeat customers. You want them coming back to spend their money as they enjoy the place. I can say for sure that none of my party will be coming back to this place. If there’s any advice I can give for those looking to come here, make sure you have extra funds in your account. Not only to prepare for 0 star worthy drinks and service, but also to prepare to stay in a psych ward for the night, so that you may recover from the chaos you endured, that which ensues within the walls of this mismanaged establishment.
We made a reservation for a large party a month ahead of time. We were seeing a show at the Wang center nearby. When we got to the restaurant they had no record of our reservation. And they did not offer any consolation. No free drinks, no trying to get us a table, it was literally “no we don’t have it sorry”. Too bad since we were definitely looking forward to going there. Won’t be doing so now.
They literally didn’t let me in! I came at 18:25 there were many empty tables. The host told me that they can’t let me in because I don’t have a reservation I went online and there was slot on 18:30 for a table. I registered and showed her the confirmation. She was angry and ignored me and would not let me in. I ask her to call the manager, Whon his name. He was applying I tried to trick them and that I did that in front of there faces. I explained what does it matter if I did it here or two minutes ago at the hotel. Because there were available tables and I got the confirmation. He told me that they can’t let deny me and just kicked me out! That’s outrageous!!!! I was humiliated!!!!!
Horrendous service. Had a reservation and after an hour did not have food. Told server we were seeing a show and it was clear that was the plan for 90% of the patrons were doing also, and no one was getting service. They shouldn’t be taking reservations if they can’t handle. We were late to the show and it ruined the night.
Save yourself and DO NOT go here! We got there at 2 ordered ours drinks and an app. I never got my water which was whatever. While we were eating our app the manager was running food and smacked my husband in the back of the head with the serving platter full of food. Nothing but a “oh sorry” and continued on her way. We ordered the sirloin steak. Both ordered medium rare mine was well done so I asked for another one. I waited almost 45 minutes with still no steak. Asked the waited to cancel it since at this point we were going to be late for our show. We got the bill and when I asked to speak to a manager they said she was busy and unsure when she would be able to talk to us. After 15 minutes she finally came over and could not have been anymore unprofessional. “Ok so what would you like me to do” with an attitude. As a Boston restaurant you’re held to a higher standard and they were god awful. The lady next to us ordered a white wine and got champagne instead. Customer service food and drinks all trash. The manager needs to be retrained she was awful….
At least they got the name right. Our server was just awful. Fifteen minutes for drinks order(no alcohol), twenty with half eaten plates in front of us. We were clearly forgotten because she had bigger tables. All the food came out cold, including the queso, just gross. Could not be paid to eat here again.
we were staying up in boston for the night for our anniversary and decided to come here bad decision. the food was okay but the service was terrible. We just wanted to have a few drinks and some food but after ONE drink told we were cut off? mind you we took our time drinking our first, which was just a samuel adam’s and strawberry marg (mind you we drink way heavier alcohol normally) and the waitress said we “needed to calm down and eat before another one” mind you the table behind us had 3 drinks in under 10mins and she had to tell them to quiet down but we was just talking to eachother and not being loud, trying to enjoy ourselves and our anniversary. Never visiting again won’t be back. Definitely DO NOT recommend if you want to enjoy a few drinks and you know your limit. Legit Joke this place.
Yesterday, Manager Juan in a racist comment said verbatim “he’s not a human”, referring to me, so he did not want to speak with me about the microwaved food I received. I told him he was racist and incompetent based on the inhuman treatment and lack of professionalism and implicit bias. The fries with my burger were cold so I asked for fresh fries and received greasy, soggy, zapped fries 30 seconds later on a sizzling hot to touch side dish plate. The mashed potatoes were served in the same fashion on a seperate sizzling hot side dish plate. When I asked our waitress if the fries were microwaved she looked guilty, so I asked again, but she said no. I did not believe her, so I asked to speak to the Supervisor. She told me before leaving the table they did not offer anything for birthdays with a smug smile. Juan came to the table defensively asking how did I know they were soggy, which was an odd question. He was leaning on the back of the chair in front of us and short of words asking. I set the plate in front of him to see for himself and compared it with the cold fries which were crispy, yet cold. He was offended accusing me of throwing the plate at him. I explained to him I was not throwing it, I was showing it to him so he could use his judgment. He walked away and told me to pay my bill without giving a receipt or waiting to receive my payment from the table. I had to walk over to the register to get a copy and his name. After several asks, more than 5, he would not give his name, he lastly offered to go get his business card. I told him he was being racist, which he responded I was not human. From there we left without a receipt before things escalated more. His last words were loudly across the restaurant. “You probably didn’t have any money anyways.” After a minute of discussion outside. I pressed record holding $80 in my hand on camera and asked for a copy of the receipt. He refused to print one. I went to record the screen that was clearly visible and he tried to cover it with his arm. The amount of $50 was on it and he asked for a credit card. When asked if anyone else was receiving this treatment, pushback, or coming to the register to demand a receipt to pay a bill he did not respond. He printed the receipt and needless to say we did not pay for a microwaved meal, and insulting racist service. I have the second half on video and wanted to report him and the Spanish accented waitress who tried to back him up when he said he had witnesses. I asked her how do you know what he said if you were not present at the table when he came over. She just stopped talking and smiled and walked away. There was a third White guy present as well, but he just stood in the back and laughed at the whole ordeal. Not sure if he was the cook or kitchen staff. I did tell him I would be reporting this to Corporate.
