Ruby's Diner

We ate at this Ruby's for the first time today. We had the super burger and a malt which were both so delicious. Our waitress, Delilah, was awesome and really made our lunch great. She was so personable and on top of everything!

Everything I've ordered has come out good. Especially fried goods, much better than Lazy Dog who over cooks all their fried offerings. Service is cheerful and personable, it's a varied and interesting menu, I think this is a bit of an undiscovered gem. I've yet to see them full, so getting a table is easy. Try the buffalo cauliflower if you like spicy, it's just right

Surprisingly good. I had the mushroom Swiss burger, my four year old had the grilled cheese, and wife had the tuna melt. We started off with some friend calamari and again really good. I guess my expectations were pretty low but we were all pleasantly surprised. Will be back again with the kiddos.

What an amazing family place! From the folding sports cars for the kids, to the great food, and top it all off with an oversized milkshake. The staff is top notch as well. Special shout out to Gwen and her super customer service. Drinks were brought to us before we finished the prior one.

First time at this Ruby's and it was great! Glad they finally opened. My wife and I both got burgers and they were delicious. The restaurant was busy but not crowded. Afterwards, we took a stroll downtown Brea and window shopped. Can't wait to come back!

The kids menu comes with a neat activity to create a classic car. Plenty of indoor seating. If you like people watching, I recommend sitting in car train seating because of great views of Brea Blvd. and the Improv. There is an area closed off for hosting meetings complete with a large tv. Outdoor seating available on Birch St.. The restroom facilities were clean. Friendly staff.

Came for a root beer float and a strawberry 🍓 shake. They are so delicious we ordered a regular hamburger with fries to go with the float and shake. Delicious but I think the fries didn't live up to the hamburger. Hamburger tasted great. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Will come back for the desserts 🍨. Great place to come hang out before a movie or after the movie.

Dined in with a girlfriend for the holidays. Menu was limited. No clam chowder. Not sure if it's because of covid they the menu shrunk or it's location. Overall good service.

Not Just a Soccer Mom

Came for a root beer float and a strawberry 🍓 shake. They are so delicious we ordered a regular hamburger with fries to go with the float and shake. Delicious but I think the fries didn't live up to the hamburger. Hamburger tasted great. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Will come back for the desserts 🍨. Before I said anything on this review I want to say Emily was rude and didn't seem to have time for her job so I was very shocked that we had a very unprofessional server like literally as we're trying to look at the menus or decided what kind of drink you can tell she had no time to see what we wanted and literally she would just drop something off and take off so I don't know what her deal is I'm surprised she's even working there! Now that I got that out of the way let's go with the food I had the blue cheese burger which was very blue cheesy and very strong that just because maybe it was just my taste of that burger I haven't had a blue cheese burger in a while so it was pretty strong! My wife had the Chinese salad and it was very light with the dressing so we had to wait for someone to come by to see if we can get some more dressing our waitress never came by of course so literally the guy who cleans the tables we had to ask him and luckily enough he did bring it over before the waitress showed up so literally if you have Emily as your waitress then you're in for a wonderful treat! but never less the food's mediocre at best My wife says she enjoyed the salad It was just the dressing me was just the service everybody else at the restaurant seem fine we just happen to have The worst of the bunch and most liky will not go here again most!

We returned the burger, and they made a new one, but phycology, the damage had already been done, and we could not enjoy the rest of our meal. Additionally, the onion rings we tough and burnt, and we are saddened that the meal was not up to Ruby's overall standards, as there is nothing more then this chain to be extremely successful and to send out quality food. Why am I sending this review out, is things don't change if they don't know there is an issue; they can't fix it. We will come back and give them a second chance, and hopefully, things will improve. My english muffins were burnt, my ham was hard and tough, and my potatoes tasted like they got stuck to a burnt pan and then they just threw some large raw onions pieces on top. Literally I only ate like 4 soft potato pieces..The spoon for my coffee was dirty with what looked like old milkshake or ice cream. I just had really high hopes for this place and decided to give it a try, but I left the restaurant still hungry and unsatisfied with my breakfast.. it put us in a bad mood knowing we had to pay for burnt scraps off the grill and still go somewhere else to eat.

We have always enjoyed their burgers, shakes and salads so we gave breakfast a try and I am sorry to say it was not good. First the coffee is bad, the pancakes are burnt and the Denver omelette was terrible, maybe they need a new breakfast cook but I have to say the place was clean and the waitress was excellent. Probably never go there again for breakfast.
