The fish at Ken's is Hands Down best in the best in Texas. That being said the Steak Fingers (coming from a guy who has eaten in every State but 3) is so good I m at a loss to describe just how outstanding they are. A person will know what I mean once you have had them.

So I don't eat fish period......I have tried it many ways before but can't say I liked it. Well my father in law convinced me to try it tonight and I have to say the breading of the fish was awesome. There was no fishy taste at all hands down the best I've tried. I've never ate at Ken's til tonight and it was awesome.

First time in this part of Texas. The Fried Chicken was fantastic. The breading was crunchy and the chicken was moist. The poofs are what you would get if you made a dinner roll from donut batter. Mmmmmm. Perfect with some butter and honey.

Drove through Breckinridge after a day of site seeing parts of Texas never seen by me, Most small towns in this area didn’t have any open restaurants due to covid-19. Went to the drive through 10 minutes before closing time, the cook had to cook our order fresh because they don’t want to have wasted food put so close to closing time. We ordered catfish 5 meal and it was awesome and the lady at the drive through was very nice, left her a tip, we apologized for showing up just before closing. 👏❤️👏

Must try this place. The staff is super friendly and the food is great. Dine- in is a must so you can soak in that oldies feel. Ask the staff what's good and they will definitely let you know what's popular. That's what we did and the family was eating good.

Great Northern Style Fried Fish. The hot puffs are to die for. Be sure to drown each hour puff bite with honey. OMG they are out of this world.

Opened at 1100 am., Busy when we got there. Small home town place. Good food, cooked as ordered, so extra time will be needed, or call ahead. Nice portions, good small town Americana food. Two of use for lunch, bring $20.00.i had chicken fried steak, good size,tender, no mystery ingredients, fries,white sauce,ice tea.associate checked a few times, to be sure there was any thing else we needed. We so enjoyed our Cheeseburgers and the onion ring (a whole onion) was wonderful!! Several other people what was they was eating the fried fish. It looked so good and the plates was overflowing. We will have the fish next time, we go though there!!!

I grew up going here every chance I get. I love this place with all my heart and just remembered it. I don’t live in Texas anymore, so if you get the chance, go, and have some bread and honey for me. Best fish place in the entire world.

We've passed by this place everytime we come through from Lampasas, TX. It was AWESOME! It was everything an old diner meets greasy spoon should be! The atmosphere was good, the locals could have used some manners though. Staff was great! Our waitress was one of the best I've ever had! I'm sad I didn't catch her name. She was very personable & definitely let's you know she appreciates good & polite customers. Remember, it costs absolutely nothing to be a good person! DON'T PHYSICALLY SNAP AT YOUR SERVER!!! The food was stellar! My husband got the catfish, (he's a catfish snob & loved it!) coleslaw, fries & what are called puffs. We had to ask what they were. They're deep fried biscuits. They have honey at the tables & it's so good! I had the sourdough bacon cheeseburger with fries. Be sure to ask for no onions for those that don't like them. The sourdough was toasted on the slit, the patty was a good thickness, the cheese was perfect. We literally had no complsints except they don't have lemonade! The prices are good too! Definitely a regular place for us now!

Dropped in here based on previous reviews & it just sounded like a good place. It was! It’s a bit of a dive, but the catfish was fab! Fries were not terribly special, but the puffs were. The puffs are like a crispy sopapilla ball with a soft bread-like & semi-sweet interior. Eat them with honey & you’ll want more.

Food is great! Been eating there for years. Prices haven't doubled like most places. Chicken tenders have gotten smaller. Only gripe is the floors need stripped and waxed. Lot of old dirt around the floor boards. Would have loved to seen it back in the 60s when it was a car hop spot..

Ken’s attended a venue in Seymour Texas where we had a chance to try their combo platter(catfish, chicken tenders, fries, coleslaw and gravy) and was it ever good! We may have to go to Breckinridge to have some more. Glad you attended and we would definitely recommend their food!

Man, did y'all knock it out of the park today at Albanys track meet. Had the 8 peice catfish it was more than 8 so fresh clean meat no fat on it what so ever. Son has never had their food seen the puffs and said WTH is this, put some honey on it took a bite and OMG said we need to go here .. thanks y'all it was amazing

I hadn't been to Ken's in years, but I was hungry for fish and this is the place. I had the seafood platter with three shrimp and three catfish strips. It was just what I wanted. The fish was perfectly done, and the shrimp was not overcooked. The Cole slaw was tasty and they are famous for their puff biscuits served with honey. I'm not going to wait so long before I go back!

Such a great local restaurant. I've been coming here since I was a kid -- and despite changing ownership a few times, the quality of service and food has remained constantly good. The Okie style fish is by far the best item on their menu!

Normally I would give 5 🌟 Their food is always good. Except for yesterday.

Easy place for chicken for a small town. Not the best chicken but not the worst. Average overall experience.

The service was good. The food was just ok and the drinks had a funny taste. The wait was about normal for most places. Over all, just really didn't hit the spot.

Went 3 times in last 2 weeks. Food was decent to good- depending on what I ordered. Went for lunch Sunday about 230, the place was filthy. Food all over the floor (everywhere), tables dirty. Waitress complain about her dead beat dad to somebody in kitchen or on phone. No more than 2 tables entire time we were there and she never made an attempt to sweep or clean. I like the place, but I was embarrassed to sit there and eat my meal.

Theyre good was really good but we had to wait 15 minutes to get our drinks then we had to wait an hour to get our appetizers of puffs then we had to wait 45 minutes for our food after all that but i mean, the food was fresh and tasted good so can complain to much

Most horrible service in America. Table left with food for over an hour. Waitress talked on phone using foul language for the whole restaurant to hear. Water was spilled on the floor and waitress never cleaned it up. Drinks never refilled. Don’t order the sweet tea tasted sour. I don’t recommend to anyone!

I have been a sever before for several years... When I went into this restaurant I ordered a plate of fries bc we had visited the blossom festival, PS don't really know what it's called, but we were looking at a house here as well that day bc we were moving there, well like I said I ordered a plate of fries an my Fiance ordered onion rings, well the was a hair in my fries I said something nicely an quietly bc other people were there an I wanted to say something so it didn't happen to any one else, well she asked if I want a different set I said yes an got them to go an there was yet again a hair in it if not more don't know did check jus threw them out, well I had called the restaurant bc I was going to order food an had a question I got extramly rude survive an I do believe she hung up the phone on me, an all for asking a question... Not good customer service at all, will not be going back there!

I had previously reviewed Kens and left it a great review. This place was almost a tradition for me. Everytime I visited Breckinridge I had to stop. Until today. I brought my family in and had to walk out almost immediately. I don’t know what happened but the place was filthy. The floors hadn’t seen a mop who knows how long. My shoes literally made a sticky sound as I walked to find a seat. As I looked closer I saw old food and dirt throughout the entire area. My thoughts - if they don’t care enough to clean what customers see….what about where customers can’t see. I may try again some other time cause I honestly love this place.

When we arrived, we were greated pleasantly and told to set anywhere we liked. There were only two tables that were occupied. One of them already had their food. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive and give our order. 40 minutes later we had not received our food so we left.

I asked if there was tartar sauce and everything in the bag they said yes they put plenty of tartar sauce get all the way home which is almost an hour away. There was no tartar sauce at all in the bag none nowhere. Very disappointed this time around

We ordered a to-go order when we placed our sit down order to get after we were done eating inside. They told us it was done, so about 3 minutes later, we went to pay, then we had to wait 15 mins because the cook forgot to cook the food after we were told by the waitress it was ready. This place is going downhill real fast, and I hope the owner fixes things. At least mop the floors, very unsanitary.
