I visted this hotel and had a lovely meal with my family. Caroline served us throughtout our experience excellent customer service. She went above and beyond in catering for our needs. We will be back in the future thanks again for a memorable experience.😁
Had a lovely meal at the Bull, the food was great and the staff were really friendly and helpful 🙂
My family and I went here for lunch whilst on holiday in the area. The food was absolutely gorgeous, everybody had something different and we were all extremely pleased. Even my 18 month old son enjoyed the food. Would definitely recommend.
Only had a drink but the food coming out looked very nice , very good comments heard
We have had the most relaxing and enjoyable two days here. The staff were amazing, the bedroom was perfect, cosy, warm and dog friendly for our “boy” Boris. We had bed and breakfast and opted for an evening meal in the bar which was warm and welcoming. All the food we ate here was tasty and good quality, which sums up this hotel perfectly and right in the centre of Bridport, ideal
We had our wedding at the Bull Hotel and we had the perfect day. It took place in the hayloft, it looked Beautiful and we all had the best time. The Staff were extremely helpful and efficient and generally nice people. The food was very very good and the portions were so big that my Grandad was able to take home a quite substantial doggy bag. All our guests were very commendable about the food, wine and service in general. The prices were very good, particularly considering the standard of the food and how much we got. We stayed in the Bull Hotel rooms, along with some of our guests and the rooms are extremely clean and very picturesque. We could not recommend the Bull enough be it for your wedding, a meal or somewhere to stay. It is central, there is parking at the back and it has a lovely atmosphere.
What a find on a wet and windy day on the Dorset Coast! I drove past and the facade appealed straight away and the interior did not disappoint. Warm with cosy furnishings and a choice of two rooms. I had an amazing roast beef Sunday lunch. Beautifully cooked and delivered by two very efficient and helpful servers. I would definitely recommend.
We visited for Lunch.Food was very good quality, the staff were very polite, especially the young man who waited on us. Nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend this place.
Dropped in for a late lunch for two as we could see they had a lovely sunny beer garden. What a wonderful place (apart from the smokers). Found a lovely sunny table, had our food & drinks order taken quickly with very good and knowledgeable suggestions for the drinks order, from the very professional waitress, which then arrived quite quickly considering how busy it was and it was very delicious. Highly recommended.
So charming and staff was amazing! Great location and fantastic breakfast as well. We’ll definitely be staying here every time we come to the area. Highly recommend!
We are in the area from London and was struggling to find somewhere that served food after 3pm! By luck we found the bull. The service was brilliant. The staff were great and the food was lovely, I really enjoyed the burger and my little girl said it was the best Mac and cheese she has ever had and she has had loads! Wife was also impressed with the roast. We will definitely pop in before we head back to London. Thank you for an enjoyable meal.
Great place to eat out. If you have dogs, you can sit in the dedicated seating area. However, the garden is very pleasant with plenty of seating, and dogs are welcome. The food is well priced, and most meals are homemade. The staff are very pleasant. The Bull is in the town, with easy access to the Wednesday and Saturday market. Bridport is a lovely, vibrant town full of history and interesting quirky building.
Superb quality food, very helpful and friendly staff.
Beautiful hotel, lovely cool courtyard with plenty of iced water on tap. Really lovely, helpful staff. We stayed for a couple of nights as part of a large wedding party and they bent over backwards to accommodate us. Nothing was too much bother for them and all our party thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Bull, despite the intense heat! We will be returning I'm sure.
Just popped in on the off chance and had the most wonderful Lunch. Service and food were outstanding with Matt in particular being awesome. A genuinely lovely place to spend some time. Highly recommended!
Popped in off the street for a coue of Pork Sunday dinners. Table service available and a really good sun trap of an outside eating area. Food was very nice indeed everything was very tasty and well cooked and presented. Especially loved the pureed butternut Squash.
We had a small room but knew that when we booked. Rather cramped but we didn't mind as we only slept in the room. Immaculately clean. Fantastic staff without being sycophants. Good food, especially the breakfasts which were wonderful. Right in the centre and car park. We had a lovely two night stay discovering Historic Houses and National trust places. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Visited the Bull over Christmas. Attended the Christmas Eve song service which was a lovely way to spend an evening. Great cocktails too. Christmas Day we had booked lunch. From staff to ambience to food all was excellent.
Fantastic experience! We recently held our wedding at The Bull Hotel and I cannot speak more highly of the venue and the staff. From the moment we first viewed the venue (The Hayloft) we knew it was perfect for us. Kerry and the team went absolutely above and beyond, and made us feel so at ease and so welcomed every step of the way. The food is delicious, both for their event catering as well as their breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. The rooms are also comfortable and spacious. I cannot thank the whole team for such a fantastic experience. We can't wait to come back to visit again soon.
The Bull is one of the two main hotels in Bridport. Their restaurant is quite good. This trip we just took advantage of their cream tea special which was notable for both the quality and value for money.
Did not stay had Christmas Dinner absolutely sublime service by Jack sian and team amazing everything catered for and the food was sensational
I stopped off for breakfast 🍳 at the Bull Hotel. The food was delicious and well presented. All staff members were very friendly and polite. Definitely recommend treating yourself.
Gorgeous hotel and excellent staff. Everyone was so helpful and delightful to spend our stay with. Its nice to have lots going on in the hotel with a couple of restaurants and two different bars for variety aswell as a charming courtyard for a glass of wine in the sun or under festoon lights at night. Really pleased with our room which was comfortable and very stylish!
We had a very tasty and enjoyable meal in their courtyard dinning area. It certainly had a Mediterranean feel with these warm summer evenings. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very efficient. They brought out a bowl of water for our dog with being asked.
Two night stay at The Bull and it exceeded our expectations. Great room, staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. We ate in the restaurant both evenings as the food was excellent. All breakfast dishes are freshly made to order and didn’t disappoint. Check out the cocktail bar in the evening, hidden gem in an upstairs room across the courtyard.
Had lunch here. All three of us agreed the food was excellent. We had the Burger from the specials menu, the fish and chips and the pork chop - each was excellent with the best chips we've ever had. Staff very welcoming and attentive. Thoroughly recommended.
Busy weekday in Bridport and everywhere we tried to eat had long waiting times. To our relief the Bull had space and we were greeted by a lovely lady who welcomed us very warmly. All the staff were very friendly and very conscious of social distancing and handling drinks. It was table service which i believe is the safest way to order and they had a one way system so we immediately felt safe and relaxed. They were also lovely with our toddler and the food was delicious and just what we were after. Would definitely recommend and would return again.
Lovely place in a great location. The accomodation is quirky and thats whats good about it. If you want anonymous, antiseptic, cookie cutter rooms then go to a Hilton…. We had breakfast included and the choice, quality and quantity was perfect. Best of all with this place is the service - friendly, helpful and attentive. Well done Merlin, Gemma and Sophie … next time we are in the UK and in the Bridport area, we will be back.
at very short notice we decided to get married in bridport reg office . we literally walked down the road to see if the bull could help with the wedding reception . think we had 4 weeks to sort everything out . we knew the standard of hotel and the food we sometimes dine and drink there . we were introduced to the new events manager Kerry . what a fantastic lady yes i think we have that date free showed us the hay loft venue room . and from then on listened to every thing we wanted , and sorted everything out. the menus the seating res parking spaces rang us and we popped in and went through everything food menus just fantastic service what an employee . so hard to find these days that personal attention to detail the service and staff and especially the food superb . everything and more thank you Kerry and the staff at the BULL HOTEL made our day so special not one compliant at all . if you are thinking of booking for an event like and want some old fashioned customer service in a beautiful hotel with wonderful food this is it . thanks Kerry and all at the Bull Hotel . wonderful memories for us THANK YOU 10 OUT OF 10. Phil and Paula Roper
Very stylish hotel/Inn well placed in Bridport with parking. Booked for 3 nights to explore the Jurassic coast and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Food was excellent we ate in both the restaurant and in the pizzeria and was of a high standard. We stayed in the “Green ocean” themed room at the front and was very comfortable, both sleeping well. Staff were all very attentive and professional but must single out Holly and Merlin for their geniality and for going that bit further with their hospitality, ensuring our stay was perfect. My thanks, we’ll be returning.
Lovely venue with great food and rooms, stayed here many times over the years. Expect quirky but lovely rooms and wonderful attentive staff. Nothing is too difficult for them. Recommend pizzeria and main restaurant. Lovely ciders and a wonderful courtyard in the summer. Also a one stop venue for a wedding
5 of us went just for Breakfast cum Brunch from our home nearby to give our "chef" a rest. Everyone judged the English Breakfast to be spot on with properly cooked high quality sausage, bacon, eggs etc. Our gluten free diner would have liked more choice but was satisfied with guacamole and Salmon bagel. One child,4, had a bacon bagel, the other 7 had pancakes with rasberries. All had generous servings and all plates were emptied attesting to the quality. The welcome and service was friendly and efficient. Bill was £11 a head with coffees and tip. We will do it again but best to book.
Party of 8 of us for a birthday dinner, waiter and waitress both very attentive, polite, competent and cheerfully helped us in every way....food was excellent, arriving together for us to eat and enjoy together, the dining room was warm with an open fire/log burner....the seating very comfortable. Good varied menu....all in all... 10 out of 10!
Very friendly and professional staff. Room warm, cosy and clean with all you need. Very comfy beds. Super shower. Breakfast is delicious, varied and as much as you like. We stayed in a family room, king bed and bunk beds and they made us feel so welcome. Fresh milk from the bar, extra tea etc as wished. Had a great Christmas lunch and went to pizzeria in the evening. Has everything you need for a great break, in a very central location yet very quiet and private. Thank you Team Bull, you’ve got our Christmas off to a cracking start! Can’t recommend highly enough for a special family get away.
Had Sunday lunch here in July 2023 with friends. They gave us their private room because there were 11 of us. The server was excellent, very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was really good. They have a very nice courtyard at the back 👍👍
Just went for dinner. Had the chilli squid for dinner - cooked to perfection and the mussel linguine - superb. Be warned, the linguine portion is huge, bring your appetite. The service was wonderful, the staff were delightful, very friendly, super solicitous and very helpful. Lovely location in the heart of Bridport. Highly recommend.
I booked the Bull Hotel Pizzeria for a meal/party for my engagement celebrations. We were given the whole upstairs/the hay loft and our own bar upstairs too! Emma the events manager was amazing, from the moment I spoke to her until the day of she was on hand with answers and support. The service on the day was amazing too! My family and friends popped by during the day and surprised me with the most amazing decorations that the team allowed us to do 😊 I had a group of 45 people that had a fantastic time there, thank you and I highly reccomend! Xxx
Went for a meal today with my parents to celebrate Mums birthday. Our first visit and it will definitely not be the last. Excellent service from Merlin and other staff, very attentive and friendly. The food was exceptional - pork belly crackling crispy and pork melt in the mouth, steak and kidney pie full of tender meat and topped with a delicate pastry - crumble packed with fruit and a crumbly topping. I could go on and on but don’t want to over do it. An amazing chef - Thank you
Great food and drink which is reasonably priced. Well worth visiting during the warmer months and enjoying the garden. Inside is beautifully furnished too.
Booked in very last minute for a quick get away. Great sales at reception. Convinced to stay in a lovely room instead of”the snug”. A little tired for the price. Very quirky. Ate in the restaurant at dinner which was lovely. Food great and coeliac friendly. Breakfast included in price of room but sadly disappointing. Couldn’t cut the bacon. It was solid! As any coeliac knows it’s hard to find a nice gf bread and the toast here was as hard as the bacon! Would ask for a discount if we stayed here again to skip the breakfast. Overall a lovely place but breakfast let it down.
Friendly staff, checked in quick. Very small room but warm and cozy, no view of anything just a roof. Complmentary tea and coffee facilities along with expresso machine Nice bed, pillows super comfy. Decor was lovely. Bathroom fair size. Lovely complimentary shower stuff, body lotion, nail file & extras! Local tour info, things to do, places to see. Only thing would say is way too hot in the room to sleep and didn't have a good night's sleep at all! Breakfast was delicious, can tell use quality products and have loads of choice. Great location, would stay again.
Had two courses of set menu .....good value for money. Very pleasant cosy atmosphere, dog friendly. Only downside was beer at £7 a pint, but sadly this is now the going rate!
This is a historic and characterful hotel right in the middle of the High Street. We had a twin room which was well presented and the restaurant and bar do very good food. Breakfast was excellent. All I would say to the manager/owner is that the carpets on the accommodation floor corridors are revolting and need replacing.
Been meeting friends here for some years and it has served us well. Food is good. Prices are a little elevated. Would be nice to see a wider range of Fullers products ( I believe it is a Fullers pub).
I liked this hotel but it is not for anyone who is noise sensitive. The rooms look like on the website but the single rooms are super small. I heard every door, every step above and everyone in the beer garden. And because of that this would have been a 3 star review if not for the excellent breakfast which I loooooved. There is a small buffet of yoghurt, granola and juices and then you order from a menu. My soft scramble was so good, I still think about it. I also had the Sunday Roast which was also good.
Really nice hotel on high street so can be a little noisy at time but they do provide ear plugs. Our room is very warm but Dyson air fan is in the room but is noisy on high setting. Lovely decor in our Deluxe king size. Downstairs restaurant and bar very nice. Lovely breakfast and very friendly staff. Great for shopping but beware car park is a little tricky to get to on your first visit Great price through Booking com and would recommend. Super soft beds, very clean, energy saving bulbs so not as bright as normal but set nice ambience.
Enjoyed a couple of days here, a large room not sure if shabby chic or just shabby. The decor in the dining room needed updating. A great location near restaurants and bars.
The snug room we stayed in was on the snug side of snug, but the free Nespresso made the mornings easy. We were only there for a couple of nights so not too difficult. The restaurant was delicious and the staff were very friendly and relaxed which is always a good sign I think.
The room was modern, clean, comfortable with some amazing amenities. The breakfast was fantastic. My only complaint would be all the banging around at 5am when the staff started work. I never got back to sleep after that rude awakening.
En route to Chris McCausland at the Electric Palace. Excellent food, staff and service!
We ordered the excellent local brunch with good quality products . However 2 Products were missing on our plates . We asked for toasts that never arrived . We waited 30 minutes to be served. While it was worth it the brunch was cooked to perfection . We were asked if we were satisfied and we indicated the missing items from the list included . The waitress smiled and told us he was a new chef . The bill for coffee and two brunches was £35:50 ..no suggestion of a discount ... we were baffled ...
Breakfast for 4 was a mixed bag. The full English breakfast was pitiful, meager portions, badly presented and overpriced. The scrambled eggs with salmon and eggs Benedict were delightful and plentiful and good vfm. Friendly staff. So a mixed bag.
Had a nice meal here. Everything was done well and tasted good. Good quality pub food in the centre of town.
Didn't stay at the hotel but a decidedly mediocre meal at lunchtime. Service was pretty average. Three of the four people had meals that were not as described. Plenty of better places to eat on Bridport. Not likely to be back here.
I'm sorry to say that my wifexand I have been eating at the Bull for many years and had a breakfast there this morning sunday 2nd Feb with my son and his girlfriend. What a disappointment, the food was cold and unappetising. The service was poor. We did not complain at the time as there were many customers and did not wish to be offensive but PLEASE the Bull buck up your ideas, you used to be so good.
Very slow service! Board says two cocktails for £14 DAILY 5-7pm. However weekends don't count. However nice outside place
As soon as we was seated, we were asked for our order straight away as they were finishing lunch service. Felt like it was the end of service for the whole experience including the food which was disappointing. Shouldn’t accept advanced bookings if they are are going to not treat you like normal service. The steak was very average and was not worth £28. When we had finished, we waited 40 mins before deciding to try and search for someone to pay our bill. It was very obvious that we came at the end of lunch, which was reflected in the service and food.
