Best mexican food in California. I was floored by how amazing this food was. Gabriel and Daniel do such an amazing job with the flavors and the presentation. I cannot believe the prices either. You mist drive out and try it. I was flying out of SFO and staying at the Doubletree. I decided to walk and try them out, I do not regret it.
All I can say is WOW! My wife and I stopped in because it was close to our hotel, and what a treat this was. We have been dining at nice restaurants throughout our week long vacation and this blew the doors off every other place we went. They had great service, very friendly and on top of it all the food was phenomenal. After giving them my compliments they were so nice they made us a little dessert, and it was incredible. It’s rare to find people that care about the work they do, check out these photos and believe it or not, it tastes better than it looks
Hidden gem. Bit of an unassuming location next to the golf center, but incredible food and lovely service. You can tell they really put love in their cooking!
Three words: Made With Love! Such a great little spot right in the same area as Top Golf. Stopped by this week for lunch and the food is some of the BEST I’ve ever had. The plating… absolutely gorgeous. They also do catering so I made sure to grab a few cards at the front for future orders 😊
OK, this place is awesome. What a hidden gem. So I stay at the Doubletree next-door quite often and I have for the last seven years, but I have never heard of this place until someone mentioned it a couple weeks ago. I’m so glad they did because now every time I’m here I am going to go to this restaurant! Not only is their food, delicious and scrumptious, but the way that they present it is amazing and so beautiful! The place looks like a regular place and is right by I believe a park and a soccer field so it looks like a lot of people were coming in after practice. But the people that run this place Gabriel and Daniel, are the nicest people! I noticed that they said online that they close at six but I called in advance to see if I could have something to go, but I wouldn’t get there until 6 PM. I double checked when I was running late just in case and they said they were still open. They actually stayed open because there were a couple more groups in there so I got to sit and enjoy and eat with a margarita and not have to take it to go. So if you’re ever curious if they are still open just call and ask if they are open! They even gave me a churro in the shape of an airplane at the end. It was so good. Amazing food and great service and I will definitely be back!
OMG! This place lived up to its 4.7 star rating and more (I’ve given it 5 star!). 😁🎉 Having just landed in SF this morning at 6:00AM (the 3 of us are staying at a local Airbnb) we wanted to experience some authentic Mexican food from a reputable, local restaurant. After Google searching, we found Gabriel & Daniel’s Mexican Grill and felt we couldn’t go wrong after checking its rating. 😁 Our waitress was so helpful and friendly and it made my mouth water watching the chef make each menu item from scratch on his grill. 😋 His care and attention to detail is second to none! To show their gratitude (after hearing that we had arrived after a very long flight and wanted to come to their restaurant) we were surprised at the end with a delicious hand-crafted dessert - a cream-filled churro shaped like an airplane! We were so impressed with their thoughtfulness and it’s worth mentioning that these darling churros were made with only minutes left until closing time! 🤩 Thank you so much for making our first dinner in the US so memorable! You deserve your high rating! Sheila 😁👍🏼🎉
If you're in the area and like Mexican food, you must visit this place. Don't let the location deter you, the food is outstanding. The restaurant is located at the back of a recreation building so we were a little iffy. The Rosie's Special was excellent, one of the best Mexican dishes I've ever had. The wife got the A La Mexicana and loved it.
Such an amazing burrito, and the absolute nicest staff. They didn’t have something on the menu I was craving, so the chef went in the back and got ingredients to make my burrito EXTRA SPECIAL!! Anytime I will be in this area I’ll be eating here again, and again!!!! and then again some more
BEST MEXICAN FOOD I HAVE HAD. This place is genuinely so good. I ordered a quesadilla and everything was so flavorful and good. The food literally put a smile on my face and every bite I wanted to moan. Literally that good. ALS the owner and the cook (his brother I believe?) are the sweetest and most cheerful and charismatic people I have met. I wish I lived here I would eat here every day. 15/10!!!! TALK ABOUT PRESENTATION 😍😍😍
Fantastic food with great taste and amazing presentation. Daniel and Gabriel will provide you a delicious meal with great service. Did I mention the music? If you like 80's and 90's music you will be at home. Regardless, don't let the simple, unassuming atmosphere turn you away from this wonderful food experience!!
I was staying at a nearby hotel and decided to walk over. Entering, no big deal but immediately, was greeted very nicely by a young man behind the cashier. He was patient by explaining the menu with any questions, and took my order. I had 3 mini tostadas. As soon as my dish arrived my table, I was blown away by the presentation. So much time and detail…it was a big deal to me Bc I wasn’t expecting it. It wasn’t just how it looked—they tasted amazing! Packed with flavors; very savory. The red salsa served with the tortilla chips was very spicy, but the spicy that’s addicting. Delicious!
Wow! What a pleasant surprise. This restaurant tucked away in a sports park near airport hotels goes above and beyond. The food, service and presentation and love that goes into each dish is truly exceptional. After a long day of travel it was a welcome and appreciated meal! My son wasn’t feeling well, and after he ate his burrito, he swears it cured him. Lol
This amazing food is found in the concession stand of a golf course.. Do Not Let That Deter You! It was so good and was definitely thought out and presented with more craft and care than any other Mexican restaurant I have ever been too. If you are near by and want some amazing Mexican food.. go see these guys.
We've been going to Gabriel and Daniel's for a while whenever we have sports at Murray Field. The whole staff there is so friendly. Plus, their food is just awesome. So when it came time for a party, we knew they would be the perfect fit. We worked with Leonor who was fabulous to figure out the menu for 30 people. I was happy to pick up the entire order to go at their restaurant, but they said they had an option to deliver and set up. I was not expecting much but they absolutely overdelivered and then some. They said they needed around a half hour to set up at our house, which seemed like a while to me, but I totally trusted them, and I knew they knew what they were doing. Sure enough they ended up being so thoughtful and patient were basically food artists in how everything was prepared and presented. Leonor and Gabriel brought frames with descriptions of every dish including a dispenser for the horchata. My wife and I were totally blown away with not only the quality and presentation, but how above and beyond we felt they went for our event. We had most of the items on their menu, including fajitas, quesadillas, burritos, guacamole, and a few other things. There were several different types of sauces and dips too. All of our friends commented how phenomenal the food was, and we were really glad to share a new restaurant that many of them were not familiar with. We hope the others will see this review and consider catering with them for an event. You will not be disappointed.
I am in love with this place!!!! This is my first time, but I'd heard for years, if you are near the DoubleTree, in the area behind the soccer and golf fields, GO! Food is not only beautiful, it's amazingly delicious in a simple, uncomplicated way! That includes the rice with a tomatillo salsa!!! Other salsas were unexpectedly put on and perfect!!!! Whenever stuck in the SFO Airport, I'm heading over to Gabriel and Daniel's!!! It's work the ride.
We looked for a restaurant close to the Bay Landing hotel where we were staying. We saw the reviews and decided to give this little place a try, and we're so glad we did! It was a little hard to find and missed the turn because it's off the beaten path. You have to head toward Top Golf and drive past that building to a little building on the other side of the parking lot. The building didn't look like it would be a restaurant so we thought we got lost somewhere, and we didn't see their signs until we were right in front of the building. Walking up to the building after parking, we saw a sign that said to use the back entrance. Don't let all that deter you! This place was so worth the trouble finding it. The lady at the counter was super friendly and welcoming. She suggested one of their specialties or the daily specials. My husband got the enchiladas, and it chose the fish tacos. The presentation of the food was amazing. It looked so artistic, we felt a little bad for mucking up the artwork to eat it, but the food was amazing. Service was amazing. After we ate and paid the bill, she asked us to give her a minute because she had something for us first time customers. They gave us a couple churros that were just as amazing as our lunches. The next time we come to San Francisco, we will definitely come here again. If you're in the area, I recommend giving them a try. You won't regret it.
This is the spot and we are so glad to have found it. Wish I lived here. Service was great, friendly and on point. Food. Was a blend of home cooking and artistic expression in the highest possible way!!! Had the tacos and Roses Special. Thank you for the delicious meal and care!! Try it if you like good food.
This was some of the best food I’ve ever had; not just for Mexican food, but in general. Gabriel and Daniel are really friendly and make sure that everything they send out of the kitchen is perfect. I normally like my fish tacos beer battered, but the way they make theirs with grilled tilapia was somehow better than any fish taco I’ve eaten. I would eat here every day if I could.
Good food takes time to prepare, but it’s worth the wait. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and visually appealing. I particularly enjoyed the nachos, fish tacos, and the orange sauce. The two staff members were incredibly friendly and attentive. However, I did want to mention that the food took a bit longer to arrive. If you’re looking for a place to catch up with friends and have a bit of extra time to savor your meal, this is a great option.
The place isn’t fancy but the food is excellent and the service was fantastic!! Food is made to order, so it takes a little time, but definitely worth it and even got a little surprise to end the meal. Will definitely be back!
I’m in this area sometimes for work, and for years I’ve been wanting to try this place. They usually close early, but today I finally made it in—and it was so worth the wait! The two employees were incredibly sweet, and the food was absolutely amazing. You tell that the food is made with love. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.
Greater than the sum of its parts… I love Mom & Pop shops, two brothers in this case. Properly prepared Mexican cuisine, one of the best I’ve found since the closure of Don Pico’s in San Bruno. Free and plentiful parking! Patience - if you want fast food, go to Taco Bell. If you’re serious about Mexican cuisine, welcome to small batch salsa with warm chips (don’t miss the chips and salsa!)… light, fluffy, flavorful rice, creamy black beans. So looking forward to coming back and trying the entire menu, one by one. Open kitchen, so you can observe the skillful preparation. After countless mediocre Mexican restaurants, raised my hands to the sky and thanked the heavens. Finally found a restaurant where the owners care, doing things the right way. Thank you, Gabriel and Daniel.
What a find!! Staying at the Doubletree in Burlingame near sfo airport. Right behind the hotel in the golf course blding. The best chicken taco salad I've ever had, served with joy and artistry. Recommend it highly
Visited this place last year. I’m glad I had the chance to come back in San Francisco and eat at this location one more time. The food is amazing! The taste is amazing, way better Mexican food than LA in my opinion. I was impressed with the presentation also. Just look at this quesadilla supreme! The owner and the employee really care about the food they make and they are very friendly and respectful. I will come back!
If you want Mexican food and are close by, you really need to try this place. They are open from 12:00 - 18:00, closed Monday's. Staff is super friendly and food is made to order, you will not be disappointed. A true hidden 💎
The sign says “Good Food Takes Time”. I don’t think it was that bad of a wait. The food was very good, served on time and wonderful service full of smiles. 7churro7 was a perfect ending!
Great food and very friendly person! Super nice and inviting. We ordered veg Quesadilla, chicken bowl and fish tacos. Awesome food and loved the pink sauce!
One of the Best experiences you will have is right, here! I went on May 5th. Ordered the fish tacos. Way better than I expected! Filling and perfect portions. Delicious and “The Chef” (Gabriel or Daniel) will personalize your food! Makes it! A work of art! That you have to take pictures! 😂😋 The service is always gracious and friendly. The drinks are so good. Full Bar. Plus ready for Events and catering. They have been extending their hours to 10:30a or 11:a to whenever. Most times 5:pm or 6:pm. Summer hours. Front entrance is on other side facing the playing fields. This is a hidden Gem next to Top Golf. Plenty of parking. Clean bathrooms are in a Beautiful Sports Park setting. Handicap parking as well. This Place is a Must- Do! You will also receive his homemade Churro at no cost. You will crave! Not much on sweets but this delightful dessert after. Is something to brag about! 😋
G & D Mexican Grill is a hidden gem where food meets art. The chef’s attention to detail in presentation makes each dish visually stunning, but the flavors are just as impressive. I tried the chips & guac, two fish tacos, and their special “A La Piementie,” and each dish delivered on freshness and balance. The fish tacos stood out with their crispy yet tender texture, while the special dish showcased bold flavors with a creative touch. Overall, I’d rate the taste a solid 4.5/5—definitely a must-try for anyone who appreciates great food with an artistic flair.
We stopped by here yesterday because it was an awkward time of day and this was the closest to our hotel. We weren't expecting much, especially when we walked in. But oh my goodness the food was phenomenal, the presentation was incredible, and they were so very nice! Definitely not fast, but if you're in no rush it's so worth it.
Two Great guys living the dream making some of the best Mexican Food I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to a lot of states and countries, including Mexico! Come in and try the food! I’ll be back in for lunch tomorrow to before leaving town!
Loved brining the family here. Great authentic food and nice customer service
So you have an overnight at SFO, staying in a hotel near the airport. You want Mexican food for dinner… where do you go? Well, you go to a counter-serve mom and pop place in the club house of a community soccer field and driving range, of course! Maybe the best Mexican food we’ve ever eaten!
Where should I begin? One of the most amazing Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten. I saw a comment someone else made on here that this was the best Mexican food in the bay area, I would go as far as to say it’s probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in the country and I’ve lived in many states over the years. The food here alone will make you wanna come here, but the hospitality here is amazing both Gabriel and Daniel who you meet when you come eat here are some of the most welcoming people you can come across. Today, I tried fajitas and fish tacos. The fish tacos are perfection, that combined with the salsa’s, the beef and chicken are amazingly delicious. To top it all off they made this strawberry filled churro in the shape of an airplane and I have some Pete’s coffee with it. Cant wait to come back again!

A real hidden gem! Food is delicious and so aesthetically pleasing! The burrito maker is a real artist. It does take a little longer, but is totally worth the wait. Try this place out!

THIS IS THE SPOT! 🌮🤩 Eleanor and Gabriel made this random stop an unforgettable experience! Eleanor was friendly, bubbly and so sweet, with excellent recommendations that we absolutely loved. Gabriel cooked the most incredible food - I was served the most delicious and beautiful plate of tacos I’ve ever seen. The restaurant is claimed to be the best Mexican food in The Bay Area, and honestly… that was spot on! Cannot wait to come back! Also got a chicken burrito to-go - muy buen. 🌯😋 Yummm - I’m drooling just looking at these photos again. 🤤🌮🍹
The tacos were amazing. However, they are too expensive at about $5 per taco. That’s steep! The burrito was huge and presented well. It lacked a little in flavor but the salsa complimented it well. There is plenty of parking and seating. People did tend to stare but that’s human these days. This really is a beautiful hidden gem for lunch…sporadically.
I asked for a corona with chips and salsa. Easy? No. He forgot my lime even after me asking twice. The salsa trio was the worst i have ever had. The roja y verde sauces weren’t salsas. They were the same HOT sauces that they put on their burrito. The cold one was decent i guess but i didn’t see a single tomato in site. When i asked the server about this he had an attitude with me and said “this isn’t a taqueria if you don’t like it don’t eat it”. The service was bad. The food was bad. I left in a worse mood.
