Really good curry, especially being in an area full of tourist traps. The size of curry only changes how much rice there is, not the amount of katsu. Affordable prices, dine-in is fast food style.
Was craving a katsu curry like I had in Japan and this did the trick. Wish it had a little more heat, but it was otherwise delicious!
This is the place to go if you like Japanese curry. The pork is fantastically crispy, the curry is out of this world, rice is perfectly cooked. I love this place I'm so happy they're here.
Food was really good and made quickly. Has American Pop playing on the TV inside. Owner and cooks were polite.
For the value and portion you can’t ask for more. However I I ordered an extra Pork Katsu, and I’m not was the pork Katsu is missing or not. Three of us had grand slam and we cannot tell one is the one with extra pork Katsu. Also the rice itself could improve. But given that we’re in mid town, it’s hard to find a restaurant to deliver the same quantity, quality of food for this price range
Go! Go! Curry! — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thick, rich Japanese curry that absolutely slaps. The sauce is dark and flavorful, the katsu stays crispy even under the curry flood, and the portions are no joke. Fast service, the home run combo got me energized, and that perfect comfort-food chaos. If you’re craving real Japanese curry — not the weak, watery stuff — this is the spot. Come hungry and don’t wear white, you could stain your shirt!!!
So glad Go Go Curry is back in NYC! I had my favorite Chicken Katsu Curry, and the portion was huge and absolutely satisfying. The staff were friendly and quick with service, and the space is clean and spacious with plenty of seating, whether you’re going by yourself or with friends. I left there feeling full, happy, and already planning my next visit, can’t wait to try the Home Run Curry next time!
I came here for the grand opening of theGoGo Curry return. I’m honestly super satisfied. I’ve never really was a curry person yet gogo definitely knows how to turn one into a curry lover. Everyone was super friendly and the food was DELICIOUS. We got the chicken & Pork Katsu and both were very yummy. I’d definitely go again it’s such good prices for such a good amount of food and it’ll honestly be a staple. Thank you!
I freaking love go go curry. Their akazawa style curry is different from all other Japanese curries. Edit - July 29, 2025 - This place went from the brink of extinction back into the joyous place it once was. Prices are good, quantity and quality are up. I highly recommend going here now that it's no longer franchised, and instead being supported by the original Japanese company.
..so happy to see the re-opening of #gogocurry at their flagship store on 273West 38th St. (between 7th and 8th Ave)!! Was sad to hear that the other locations at West Village and Wall Street have closed, but this was one holdout is raising my spirits (they have a takeout only store in Queens but waaaay too far for me, unfortunately). Had a Medium pork katsu curry..and lovely to experience that special GoGo curry sauce that balances savory and sweetness, richness and spice! As always…”Ma sarap!!!” (for those wondering why I’m speaking Tagalog..for some strange reason, every GoGo Curry franchise I’ve eaten in, were run by Filipinos?!) #talesoftheramenrabbit
Go Go Curry is finally back! The reopened location is fantastic, the staff are all very nice, the kitchen is spotless, and the food is great!! Highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already. I got the Home Run chicken katsu and it was delicious. I’ll definitely go again on Go Go day!
The place is nothing fancy and the price is cheap, but the food was awesome. Their Japanese curry tasted great and hot, especially the katsu curry. We have had them many times so far and never felt disappointed with our meals here. They also delivery to our house at Kips Bay Area, so that is another great plus.
We got dinner here before a Broadway show and was in and out in like 30 minutes, which is great to making it to the show with plenty of time. The restaurant has about 5 tables, and it's pretty casual…

I tried the chicken Katsu Curry Over Rice, and it was as good as everyone says it is. I see why it's a comfort food in Japan!
Didn't expect it but, Go Go Curry Times Square was truly astonishing. Go Go Curry Times Square has a great, relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I will highly recommend Pork Katsu Curry, I had their Pork …
They don’t understand how happy I am to have them back. I mean to the moon and back happy to have them back. Literally ALL of my favorite places to eat are gone either due to the pandemic or just the crazy rent for businesses here. The is comfort food for me. When they came back last year I walked away with a few Large to eat for a few days and a small to eat on the train ride home. My lady and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this month and are just treating ourselves.
Go Go Curry is our go to for a quick meal in the city, because its always good without being overly fancy or complicated. Rice. Curry. Katsu. Cabbage. Mix/eat/done. Customize your size (S-XL) with few main options like chicken, pork, or veg tofu. Deliciously fried and crisped, cut into perfect bit size, every time. Kind of wish they had brown rice option (to pretend we are trying to be healthy despite everything) but they do have the udons now! Plus its FAST. Less than a few minutes between ordering and eating, keeping true to the "go go" part of their name.
Just tried Go Go Curry for the first time in years, and wow, the prices have definitely increased! The Home Run Curry set used to be around $17, but now it's closer to $21. It also seems like they might be giving slightly less rice and vegetables. Despite the price bump, the food was still delicious, just like I remembered. And pro tip: definitely get the pork katsu over the chicken!
Got the giant plate of curry and it really was large, but we finished it with 4 people! However, we had to get extra sauce to make it taste good, since there was a lot more rice than sauce.

Takeout focused, "large" portions are large. Wouldn't exactly call this "Times Square" as it's in a bit of a no-man's land. The prices have apparently gone up by 50% or more compared to old reviews…
I got a delivery order of the pork katsu. It was honestly pretty decent. The curry was a little thicker than I'd like but I was impressed with the portions.
Pricey! $12.95 + tax for a small chicken katsu curry. One does not get as much rice with the katsu curry. The cashier told me a large only ends up giving more rice, but the curry and katsu portion …
I passed by and wanted to try the Japanese curry here. The vibe is good, and there are a lot of Japanese customers, which is always a good sign. The price is reasonable too. I ordered the katsu curry. The presentation was nice, but the flavor wasn’t really my type—it was a little sour for my taste. However, for the price, it’s still a good value. If you’re nearby and want to try Japanese curry, it’s worth checking out.
Been going to this location for over 15 years. This is a spot me and my siblings go to whenever we go to time square for quick lunch/dinner. What happened? This would be 5 stars everything the last time I was here. There were no more stainless steel plates. It was just on the to go bowls. And the serving was half the size of what it used to be. So weird. I asked to separate the curry sauce and the crew just looked at each other with a roll on their eyes. Sorry if I asked too much. The staff were always nice before. From what I remembered they usually have a container for separate sauce. Surprised today with the serving size, service and the place. No more Hideki Matsui clips inside. It used to be full of Matsui memorabilia. Food is still good but different than before, not as amazing as before, a little less tasty. Also they used to use thinly sliced cabbage on the side, this time they used like those prepacked salad on the side. Maybe this change was due to the pandemic. Did not want to leave a review but was really looking forward to eating here, but was disappointed on how it went. 🤷🏻♀️

The food was simple but flavorful and pretty authentic. Cleanliness and ambiance was appropriate for its location. Will visit again.
I'm not sure if it's under new management but the curry sauce doesn't taste the same. The people were nice and attentive but the food was a waste of money.
The missus picked up dinner here one night; 2 of the pork katsu entrees (Panko-breaded fried pork cutlet, drizzled with tonkatsu sauce, served with shredded cabbage and Japanese homemade curry …
The taste was ok , but where is my fukujinzuke and what’s wrong with my “ Home run “ curry ??!! A very dishonest merchant, people you need to double check your order before you take it away.
Cannot believe for the fact that I ordered the grand slam, I can’t even get the right amount of curry. I noticed an insufficient amount of curry for the portion I’m getting, decided to ask the staff member to fill it to the proper container line. They refused to, and instead told me to file a complaint because it’s company policy. Are you serious??? You guys are being cheap with half a ladle of curry??? It’s literally your namesake….. What do you think people come for? Air? Cause that’s what a 1/3 of my order is at this point. This is not the first time you’ve guys have had issues with portion control. I’ve been coming for years, but you guys are making it impossible to have customer retention with the direction you guys are heading towards. Asking for an obscene request is one thing, but asking for the proper amount of curry to a $34 order is another. Truthfully it’s just sad. Stop being oblivious to the problem, and do the right thing. Can’t wait for the generic “We’re sorry about that! We’ll look into it” reply
