A wonderful Italian restaurant in the Theatre district. We ate dinner here for Restaurant Week 2023. My mother and I have never been here before, but this will not be the last time. The ambience was charming, and the food portion was plenty. Before, I was under the impression we would only have small samples of food to try but I was wrong. My favorite dish of the night was the entrée. I ordered the Saltinbocca Alla Romana. There were no leftovers to take home. Overall, I am so happy we found a new restaurant to eat when we are in New York.
I lucked in to get a seat at the bar next to Tomasz and Alex (owner) in the first week of November to enjoy a deliciously simple Italian trout preparation. The chickpea appetizer was delicious and the uncle Tomas’s stories engaging. Will definitely go back, with reservations of course. A hidden gem in NYC.
Every single part of our dinner was delicious. Starting from the bread then the appetizer and each Entree we had was absolute flavor. Coming from an Italian who eats good food on a regular basis, This place was amazing! Even the drinks were perfect. Great service too and lovely atmosphere, I highly recommend this place if you are looking for great Italian ambience and food… I don’t live in NYC but I’ll be back here real soon.
Elegant Italian cuisine close to Broadway theaters in a fabulous setting with exposed brick walls, crisp white tablecloths, excellent cocktail and wine selection, amazingly friendly service, and 1st class desserts & coffee. I have been here twice in 3 years and this restaurant goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, special, like part of the family, and provide for every comfort during your meal. Never did we feel rushed and there is someone constantly refilling your water or drink. We ordered a bottle of wine and didn't touch the bottle to refill our glasses as the servers anticipated our every need. Definitely highly recommend the Artichoke appetizer, Gnocci, Buccatini, Seafood pasta, Affogato al Café, & Cheesecake. They are also tech savvy with some menu offerings on a tablet which they leave at your table to peruse at your leisure. Mostly adults when we were there on Saturday night each time, but there were families as well. I recommend Lattanzi to anyone looking to have a wonderful dining experience and for a restaurant that has served the Broadway district since 1984.
Service by David (King David) was excellent! David was very accommodating, especially to our granddaughter. The atmosphere was excellent and perfect. Reservations are recommended. The veal piccata with a side of Angel hair pasta Ali ola was excellent. The linguine Bengali was also excellent and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The ravioli with porcini mushrooms was excellent as was the pasta carbonara. Dessert was a variety of chocolate mousse, cheesecake made with ricotta.(wonderful.!) and sorbet. Lattanzi was the perfect dining experience after a long day of touring.
We go here every year for birthdays in December. The food is always delish and service is great. It may be loud depending on which room you are seated in which could be the only issue. One year we were seated at a 5 person table when we were a group of 7. Staff is extremely respectful and friendly.
First time eatting here. Everything was delicious. Sauce was wonderful, pasta made from scratch. Very fresh. Love the atmosphere. Would recommend , will not disapoint!!!
My husband and I came to NYC to see a show over the weekend. We wanted to go to a delicious Italian restaurant as we were both craving carbs after a day full of walking around the city. We made reservations for this specific restaurant after looking at the menu. It’s in restaurant row, and it is truly an experience. You walk in and immediately they ask to take our coats from us. We sat in the back near the wine wall. The fresh bread, our main courses and dessert were delicious. The staff was so friendly and kept our glasses filled. If in NYC and craving real authentic Italian food- this is the place!
The Lattanzi Restaurant was recommended by my friend Sal, who also booked a table for six. We went on a Saturday night and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was attentive, and everything ran smoothly. The menu is extensive, the food is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable for NYC. It was a memorable birthday dinner for my elder son. Highly recommended!
Very cozy vibe to this place. The food is terrific and all of the staff are so friendly. My only issue which I found very perplexing was the service. As I said, it was very good, however, we had to ask for everything: menus, glasses to be removed, dishes to be removed, bar menu, dessert menu, basically any type of service. Once we stopped someone to ask for things they were more than happy to accommodate us, it was just weird. This would not keep us from eating here again as the food is delicious-I just found it very interesting and different to most other restaurants.
For this trip to NYC, this was the only one that we strongly plan to revisit. For pre-theater dining, the food was solid. We ordered grilled octopus, linguine alle vongole, and lamb chops. We drank two glasses of wine. For dessert we had tiramisu, sorbet, and decaf coffee. Across the board all the food was of consistent good quality. Service was friendly but there were a couple of minor slips, they forgot (but did not charge) an extra side of vegetables we ordered. Also, they did not serve separately each course as we requested when placing our order (i.e. pasta and main course brough together but surprisingly things did not get too cold). Given the usual chaos of pre-theater dining, we are generally tolerant of these slips and such mistakes are server dependent. Given the tasty food, we would likely give Lattanzi another try. Total price for everything listed including tax and 20% tip was about $240. This is about what you'd expect for the location and represents a fair value.
I really enjoyed the vibe inside of Lattanzi - the servers are great and the mood is intimate. Came here with a large group and we got a few appetizers and our own entrees. What stood out to me the most was the calamari and the veal shank. The calamari wasn’t too fried the veal was very tender. Would definitely come back again if I’m looking for a spot in the area and have a larger group. The desserts were a nice plus as well, get the napoleon if you’re interested in trying one.
I had the lunch pre-fixe, which was very good. My appetizer was 3 mini artichokes, entree was branzino with olive oil, wine and capers with one little slice of roasted potato, string beans and corn. My dessert was a homemade Napoleon. All was delicious and was $45. I'd definitely return! Sitting right at the next table was Alec Baldwin. No pictures of my food, but got a candid shot of Alec!
Came here on a Saturday Night. The moment I went in they took our coats in a closet which was very nice. It was pretty busy and the service was great. Pretty authentic Italian dishes starting from homemade mozzarella to i’m pretty sure homemade spaghettis. The flavors were very rich and all the dishes were great! They don’t really give big portions compared to their prices but it is still very good. Really would recommend this place if you are looking for good Italian food nearby with great service!
I had the orata fish ($42) at lunch recently, it was mild in flavor. It came with two vegetables. On a dinner visit there I had their chicken with peppers and onions (pollo capriccioso), $36. I found that the chicken was very dry and had lost its flavor. The peppers and onions were in a tomato sauce, so they had little flavor of their own. The pictures I took there were, on both visits, near closing time, therefore accounting for so many empty tables.
Me and my wife were looking forward to an intimate and quiet dinner and were excited to have dinner here. The server was very unprofessional calling my wife names like princess and being very loud. The Albanian man was so loud and casual that we requested to move to a quieter section of the restaurant and still we heard him. The food was nothing special, we ordered 1 bottle of amarone, 2 appetizers,2 pastas and a seafood platter. We will not be returning nor would we recommend sadly I give 2 stars because the second server was a lot more professional. I also work in the hospitality industry and it left a distasteful note. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN INTIMATE DINNING GOOD EXPERIENCE STAY CLEAR OF THIS LOCATION.
The food was very not what we expected based off the reviews and a recommendation from a local bartender at a different establishment, we were disappointed. The restaurant was busy, and we felt like we were rushed to order drinks and food to just seat another table. $120 for two meals and two drinks. I absolutely don’t mind paying over $100 for a good meal…it’s NYC…it’s going to be expensive, and that’s fine! But unfortunately, this meal, was not worth any of it. I’m sorry, Lattanzi, we just really were hoping for a better dinner all around, especially since you were recommended to us by a local.
Don’t waste your money. This restaurant was terrible. The food was inedible and the service couldn’t have been worse. The owner/manager was smoking outside of the front door when we walked in, and it went downhill from there. The servers kept knocking my purse off my chair and not apologizing, and one server shoulder checked my mother on the way to the restroom. The pasta tasted bland and the seafood looked undercooked. I could go on forever, but just save your money and time and don’t go.
