The donuts are light, fluffy, and delicious! Grounds also has the BEST iced coffee I’ve ever had! Staff was super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about all of their products!! I’ll definitely be back!
This was my first time there would always see the ads on Instagram so me and my wife went there and got a couple of donuts we Will definitely be back. We love the different varieties of donuts.
Unique donuts and sandwich options. It's a small little shop with two pink tables out front and little chairs. They have seasonal donuts also. If you want a good snack you won't find anywhere else make sure you come here. They also have coffee. God little one stop shop for all your breakfast and snack needs. Come early though. They close in the afternoon
Grounds donuts are unique in taste and you definitely get your money’s worth. Best donut in the Bronx “ strawberry crunch tres leche “
Their sweets are not too sweet and I mean that in the best way possible. I love no where near here, but travel here at least once a week for their popping boba and a donut. My family and I love it.
The donut was as good as they looked. Taste very fresh and fluffy/soft. A whole bunch of different flavors to choose from means having to plan a day to go back and try more.
The coffee, the donuts, the atmosphere, the staff! Exceptional. The parking situation is annoying and I wish I had gotten there earlier to get fresher donuts, but that’s just personal preference. I’ll be back for more. I tried the Oreo donut, the churro donut and a cappuccino. The Oreo donut was my favorite but they were all great.
I just love Grounds Donuts, I can't believe how unique and delicious they are, truly a work of art. The coffee is the best I have had in a long time. The staff is amazing, so welcoming and attentive. The decor is fun with such a upbeat vibe. My new happy place, ten pounds here you come
I was just passing through after coming off my night shift, so I didn't know the older cafe changed hands, its now a funky donut shop with FRESH DONUTS MADE ON THE PREMISES, now I honestly can say I'm not or havnt had a donut in years and for me to have one for breakfast! Never!! But I thought why not try one and it was absolutely delicious? Yes and the coffee gorgeous 😍 don't try it because you will love!! Here's to new businesses, I say support local. Great staff & cool music playing in background 🎶 🎵 Best of luck☘
My go to spot. Grounds where everyone knows your name. Great service with great coffee and donuts.
Best proper coffee in NYC. And best price. Super arrived.
Hands down the best donuts around!!! We will definitely be back for more! 😍🤤 not only does grounds have the most fluffiest couture donuts; their coffee is out of this world! The staff is so friendly and the decor is so aesthetically pleasing, no matter what age you definitely need to check them out! 🍩 you won’t regret it !
Words cant describe how much i love this place. I LOVE sweets and this place hits the spot. I just had the banana pudding donut and i wish it was placed on their menu permanently because WOW. The lattes are a hit or miss depends who makes them i guess. Theres a gentleman whos there in the morning I cant remember his name but he makes the most amazing almond joy latte. I guess making it with love is an extra ingredient 🤣. Overall the staff is truly amazing. The donuts is wheww so great. Truly a gem around my way.
My 7 year old son loves donuts and is obsessed with Dunkin’ Donuts so I’ve been finding different donut spots for him to try. However, none of them has met his expectations. We tried Grounds Donuts and when asked what his thoughts were, his response was “mom this is better than Dunkin’ Donuts. I agree delicious donuts!!
My daughter and I go every other sunday. To get a donut, I love how they have there regular donuts, and then they have some that change every week. O yeah, they try the dad bod sandwich
Awesome donuts and the customer service is chef’s kiss. I live in Brooklyn and have no problem going there early morning to get my donut fix on 😂
Love this local spot. We stop here regularly and have never had a bad donut, the coffee and lattes drinks are also super creative and also are delicious. The workers here are always super nice and friendly, and the atmosphere is just positive. Once we went in and they made fresh donuts plain for our toddler (we’d helped ourselves to the sugary creations) when they noticed we hadn’t gotten her anything. Love this local spot!
Food is great! But please bring back the Doritos donut sandwich. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Service and doughnuts are great. Only issue I have is they don't always have the doughnuts labeled to know what they are.
heard this was a good place to indulge in flavorful treats! their donuts do not disappoint! Tasty, satisfying, flavorful, affordable. i would recommend!
To be honest, this is the spot! The donuts are so fresh and very tasteful legit you’re looking at creative donuts and not only do they look awesome. They taste amazing! The staff is so sweet, they always have such positive energy (like yes I know it’s customer service) I feel they even go beyond that and you know it’s genuine. Their drinks or even amazing too and they definitely have lactose options. And for the dog 🐶 family they have pup cups 💗 so not only can you enjoy a sweet treat so can your furbaby!
Listeennnnnn HUNNYyyyyyy ! I have to say, your donuts are the most delicious I’ve ever had! You should definitely consider expanding within the 5 boroughs !!!your donuts beat any other donut place out there!
Grounds Donut House is a delightful spot that's well worth a visit if you're in the area and have a sweet tooth to satisfy. The donuts here are impressively large and delicious, with a wide variety of flavors and toppings to choose from. Whether you’re in the mood for something classic or adventurous, you'll find a donut that fits your taste. While the donuts are the main attraction, they do lean towards the sweeter side, which might be a bit much for some palates. However, for those who love a good sugar rush, these treats are perfect. The beverage selection complements the donuts well, offering both hot and cold options that are as thoughtfully crafted as the pastries. Whether you’re a coffee lover or prefer something less caffeinated, you’ll find a drink to enjoy. Service at Grounds Donut House is friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. The decor is equally charming, featuring cute and cozy touches that make the space welcoming and comfortable. In summary, Grounds Donut House is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to indulge in some high-quality, tasty donuts in a pleasant environment. Don't miss out on stopping by when you're nearby!
The place is tooo tea, customer service a 10/10 even though they were about to close they served us no hesitation. Donuts are amazing super soft and rich.
The most amazing donuts I ever did have! Creative concoctions make this place a must visit if you’re in the Bronx!
My daughter has been begging me to try this place and I finally gave in. I went in a Saturday and it got packed really quick. The place is small but they have chair and tables outside while you wait. My daughter got the fruity pebbles bacon egg and cheese and a cinnamon roll donut. I got the blueberry donut and everything was delicious. The donuts were fluffy and not too sweet. We will definitely be back.
Love love love this place. Opens super early which works if you want to get some awesome donuts before work. Got one of all the limited flavors and everyone loved them. Literally someone attempted to lick on in the box to make sure we knew it was there. Def recommend also try the ube iced latte!
The time and effort that goes into making these artisan donuts is understood from the very first bite. You’ve never had a donut till you’ve had one of these. Purchased two boxes of 4 to surprise a couple a co workers. Their addicted. Friendly knowledgeable staff were able to explain in detail what each donut contains.
Grounds is absolutely delightful. I can’t believe this cozy gem has been here for about a year and I only stumbled across it early September. Let’s get into why I don’t using this place as my “cheat day”. 1. The Bacon Egg and Cheese. It’s made on a donut with everything bagel seasoning sprinkled on top . It’s freaking Delicious. I was hesitant of trying because I thought it would feel heavy. No. It’s savory , it’s decadent. It’s the reason this place is getting 5 stars rather than 4. My request… please cut in half 😊 2. The donuts. I’ve had tiramisu (twice) French toast and now the pumpkin pie and I have to say the tiramisu is my favorite. Not everyone can balance the espresso and cream flavors but they do masterfully, on a donut. It’s worthwhile to try. 3. Wash all of the above down with a pumpkin pie late with marshmallow whip made with oat milk. Add a pump of caramel and light drizzle and now you have a sexy Lexie Hot Caramel Pumpkin Pie Late. Yes I unofficially made coined my own drink 🤣🤣. 4. Last but not least , the service. Everyone has been so helpful here . A person that stands out is Milly( not sure if spelled with y or ie) . Milly always serves with a smile and positive attitude rain or shine.
I am fortunate to live nearby, and I love how good these donuts are. They're not stale or dry. I like that they add specialty donuts to the menu and don’t stick with the same flavors.
Very much enjoyed my first trip to Grounds Donuts, coffee was very flavorful and strong. Shoutout to the Miles tribute on the menu. Donut was also very good, a tad sweet for my taste but solid nonetheless. Will definitely be returning in the future and excited to see what other flavors get added.
Donuts are a little pricey for the area. But they are a gourmet donutn you aren't going to find anywhere else. I you the oreo milk shake and nutella. They were both crafted to perfection and were amazing. Like i said you aren't paying dunkin prices but you're not getting dunkin dounuts. You are getting a home made, speciality donut that is out of this world. Yes i will be back.
I wish I had a big tummy, i ordered the oreo crumbled topping donut for my return flight to the west and it was still soooooo soft and had a crunch from the oreo. Will return here and try to starve myself, because I wanted at least 6 donuts, very different from Texas, much better here in New York and CREATIVE!!
I don’t really relate to the bad experiences here to be honest. The food is very good too!! Lots of people say it’s “overpriced” but honestly it’s worth the price. It’s a donut bigger than my hand. Plus it has many different flavors! More than you would find at a Dunkin’ Donuts at least. Not only that, but these are HANDMADE, from a SMALL BUSINESS. Of course they’re going to be more expensive than Dunkin’ Donuts. The atmosphere is also very good too. I’m not a huge fan of the music they play, but then again all I listen to is Vocaloid music. Also the mural on their wall is pretty cool! So Grounds Donut House is a five star place.
Recently, I visited this charming little donut shop while craving coffee. Hands down, it was the best coffee I’ve had in a while. The coffee was incredibly good and flavorful. After enjoying the coffee, I couldn’t resist trying the donuts. There were three different ones in the pictures, and I tried all three. They were freshly made and tasted amazing.
The donuts are amazing. The don’t itself is fluffy and delicious and the flavor choices are great. Love the maple bacon so much. Also the samoa, cinnamon and cookies and cream donuts, we loved them all
I was seeing this place all over Tik Tok and knew I had to try it. And I was not disappointed. I got donuts only but I will definitely be back to try their donut sandwiches and chicken and waffle combos that they have. Go to Grounds DH in the Bronx and you will most definitely be happy that you did. BTW I took bites of them before taking the pics lol but the strawberry and blueberry cheesecake donuts along with the blueberry muffin donut are heavenly divine.
We came here with the family after spotting them on Instagram and let me tell you, they absolutely lived up to the hype! You don’t come across too many IG-worthy food spots like this in the Bronx, so we were really excited to give it a try. The shop itself is small but super charming. The donut display was beautifully arranged, and the art on the walls? An absolute masterpiece that sets the vibe while you wait to order. The ladies behind the counter were incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming. They didn’t rush us at all and answered all our questions with a smile. When my son didn’t like his iced coffee, they swapped it out for another drink without hesitation great customer service! Now let’s talk about the donuts… hands down some of the best I’ve had in my entire 40 years of life. The guava and cheese is out of this world, and the coquito latte? Flavor explosion. If it had rum in it, I’d call it perfection but since I was with the wife and kids, it was actually even better because I got to share the experience with them. We literally tried every donut they had, and there wasn’t a single miss. This place is a hidden gem and an absolute must-try in the Bronx!
Great experience here. The donuts were all amazing and tasted fresh. They look small but when you get them home, they seem to grow in the box lol. They are filling. 1 1/2 is more than enough for me. And I’m a big man. A must must must try is the chicken and waffles. Strawberry cheesecake waffles to he exact…. I will be back just for the waffles !
This is such a cute little spot! I've never heard of it before, but I'm glad Shah set this up, and I was able to come for the experience. We went on a Monday and was warmly greeted by Charlene (or maybe Sharlene)! I saw that there were plenty of donuts that were made many of the different creations were already sold out, so if you want to try something specific then you need to make sure you are there early enough to grab it. There's a little table to the side if you want to drink your latte or eat your donut right away and hand sanitizers around to keep things clean on the customers' side. I got a Raspberry filled donut and described to C/Sharlene the kind of drinks I like, and she was able to help guide me with choosing a latte. Then she helped my mom choose as well. Mom sat and had her latte there. I tried mine there but took the rest to go. I loved the vibe and the customer service. I'd definitely come back here again!
I went in at 3:30 p.m. 3/5. and they still had a good selection of donuts left. I wanted to try them after I saw a tiktok video, and I was not disappointed. I ordered the cinnamon roll donut and the Nutella banana. They are big, very decadent, not too sweet, and the consistency is like an old-fashioned donut with a modern twist. I will definitely go back when I'm in the mood for something sweet. Very delicious
It was my day off so I hopped on over to the shop for the first time. Saw a post about them last week and knew I had to check them out and happy to say I wasn't disappointed. The shop is small but quint. I loved the leaf wall with the words "I liked it, so it's mine". I left with their Strawberry Shortcake Mini Donut Boat, the Strawberry Cheesecake Donut and the Caramel Coffee Cake Donut. I also left promising to bring back my family with me and i did just that. Everything is top notch and super delicious. The staff here is so friendly and helpful, you can tell they enjoy their job. EDIT: This spot has become my weekend splurge. I drive across town for this treat every Saturday
Donuts are amazing, you can't go wrong with any of them. BUT do NOT get the ube latte. The ube latte is all purple food coloring that left me extremely dizzy the whole day and made my shidds purple for a few days too...
I want to preface this by saying that I'm really happy this place is in the neighborhood and I hope they stick around. The doughnuts are outstanding. At this point, I've had the Oreo covered donut and the bacon covered donut and the donuts alone receive five out of five stars. The staff are very friendly and it looks nice inside. The reason this review is only four stars is because of the coffee. I've had the espresso and the drip coffee and it's not the best. My criticism of the coffee is that it's tasteless, weak, and way too hot to drink. If they improved this, 5 out of 5 stars easily.
Today we went to Grounds Donut. It was welcoming, clean and everyone was friendly. It wasn’t over ally crowded at 1:30pm. There was a variety of cereal donut, cinnamon crumb, Boston, chocolate, churro, s’mores, maple bacon and coffee donut. I maybe be missing 1 ot 2 donuts, we got the maple bacon which was light and fluffy the white cream too too sweet with the maple syrup. The coffee crumb cake was more dense and heavy two can share this one. The cinnamon lingers way too long in your mouth like they added an exact to it to go with the cinnamon taste not good, the white powder sugar cream that holds the crumbs way too sweet. I like the donut by itself. So my child gave the maple bacon a 8 and I gave the crumb cake a 7. They are big and worth the price. I hope they offer donuts with less the sugar powder glue. We be back to review all the donuts and definitely share with family
Donuts are great. Love the dirty sodas too. I can’t wait to try the other things on the menu. The shop itself is very nice but as someone else mentioned additional seating would be great. Now for the customer service. I gave 3 stars. The female (tomboy) that works there something is off about her energy. On Instagram she appears very friendly but I didn’t love her vibe in person. She’s somewhat dismissive and I noticed this 2 times that I’ve gone and she was there. For example I walked in at 4:30 and noticed that the donuts were empty (I understand close to close time but I worked till 4PM) so I simply asked “no more?” I was not rude in anyway and she responds “nope.” But her nope was just a little sharp perhaps saying “apologies we are sold out” would have been nicer.
The doughnuts were good, cakey kind. They were not overly greasy. I wanted the base dough to have a bit more flavor but it was fine. Definitely fresh. The signed said closed but there was people inside and we were waved in. It was very expensive. And they charge almost a dollar for a splash of oat milk in a coffee. Which I found ridiculous. Overall I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go here but I would stop in if I was walking by.
I will like to start by saying the donuts and coffee were delicious. I appreciate a nice cup of coffee and go to all over the city to search for them! The only down side of this location not a place to sit and enjoy it and also the customers service lacks friendliness and the attitude from the ladies working behind the counter made my experience a bit unpleasant. Overall food is good, room from improvement from staff and wish they offered some type of seating inside the establishment.
I will preface this by saying I eat donuts OFTEN. This is my third time having donuts from this location. My favorite was the Napoleon. The donuts are just okay. They are pretty big, so I understand the cost along with the state of the economy. Would I recommend this place - maybe. I think for what they offer, the donuts get a C+ in my book. The customer service is always great and that alone will keep me coming back.
The doughnuts are really good, im not the biggest fan of sweets so their glazed is perfect for me but if you like alot of toppings you will love it, was not a fan of the coffee
Visited last week and the donuts were good (fresh and great ingredients - the Nutella came coming off the donut but enjoyed the blueberry, cinnamon and cereal one) but customer service was not it. My friend and I went in - we were not greeted (person before us was and had a conversation). We took our time perusing the options the employees were having a discussion and when I ordered we thanked her and told her to have a good day , no reciprocity. Will Not be returning.
What I can say is the time is wrong on Google they close at 5 I drove from mt vernon to their location only to hear they was closed a hr early from the time they was posted and they throw out anything that is not used at the end of the day but one person who was in the store felt bad and offer my son a 🍩 out his box even though he didn't work there I will say is it was a Cinnabon 🍩 and it was delicious
I absolutely love the coffee cake donut from this place, definitely 10/10 so I expected nothing less from the other flavors. However, I was HIGHLY disappointed with the apple cider donut. The taste is terrible and it is SO dry. Almost tastes like it was frozen, defrosted, baked and then put back into the fridge cause it was so cold when I got it. Dunkin’ Donuts apple cider donut is 10X better tasting. PLUS costs the same as the other donuts for half the size
Editing my review because I feel as though they have addressed a lot of their problems! Donuts are fantastic and we love them so much. Staff is great now and handles orders without issue. In fact, they make the whole experience better now. They are pricey but nothing too crazy. I do wish they offered more food but it's a literal donut shop, it might be asking for too much and take away from their core business.
So today my daughter wanted to try this place because she seen it on Tic Tok and it’s right around the corner from our house. The donuts were delicious but the customer service sucks. The woman with the locs and blond tips has the worst attitude ever. She was drinking and on the phone when we walked in and rushed us to order. It came off as if we were an inconvenience to whatever she had going on. I gave her a tip before I left and that’s when she nicely said have a good day. When we first walked in she didn’t even say hi. Please do better. Kindness goes a long way.
Love the place. The atmosphere is very trendy and gives off instagram vibes. The music is always top notch and art on the walls are fun. Now to the more serious parts… the food itself is okay. It’s nothing to really jump around for. The breakfast sandwiches are pretty cool as you get to customize it to your liking donut wise for $1 extra. The donuts get hard after having purchase them for about 15-20 minutes which is the car ride home that’s the only thing I would say sucks. Now, the custom service is not the best. There is a young man that has helped me and my best friend out three times and he’s been very professional, consumer friendly and just is genuinely nice. There is a you g lady there that I believe is the cook (wears glasses for reference)… which is not friendly at all. Customer service is at a 0. Never wanna be serviced by her again. There has been another lady that is friendly that has checked me out twice and customer service was amazing. She’s a short woman. Very very nice. Try it out for local cool donuts. That’s about it.
Some of the donuts are tasty and the flavors are inventive. However, most of the donuts are wayyy too sweet. It’s sugar on top of sugar on top of sugar. If you like that, then it’s perfect for you. However, after a while I can’t eat the donut, the sweetness gets to be too much. When we get donuts here we usually get the simple iced ones and then we split it into 4 pieces and eat them over a few days. Another thing is they have posted hours but we’ve come a few times when they were supposed to be open and they were already closed. Very frustrating. Also they’re a coffee place but they don’t serve any decaf. I can’t drink any of their drinks. It would be nice if they offered even just one decaf option. Lastly, the donuts are pricey! ! ! Like $50-$60 for a dozen based on which donuts you get.
The place is certainly attractive but the donuts are NOT worth the price they charge. Dunkin Donuts makes much better donuts than Grounds. I had a jelly donut, which was filled significantly more than DD offers, but it lacked any flavor. It honestly felt like I was eating jelly filled cardboard for $4. Way overpriced for relatively cheap quality. To be real, I feel like these higher ratings are just friends of whoever owns this place just to give it more hype since not many stores are able to last these days in this area.
$5 donuts that have zero flavor. I don't understand the hype. Donuts without filling were old and dry and the ones with filling could be the most bland donuts I've ever had. I also should mention the first time we went an hour before closing the door was wide open but they did not have a single item and we were told they sold out hours earlier as if it happens constantly. They only even get two stars because they were nice to my wife. Save your money and avoid.
So I'll start from where I think things went wrong... I usually come here and get a double espresso shot whether it is in the morning to start the day or before I go to work my overnights however there's a specific worker there not sure if she's going through something or if she just hates her job whatever it is none of my business but she definitely needs to start treating customers better Everytime I asked for my espresso shot she has this expression in her face as if we customers are being rude or disgusting to her nothing far beyond the truth I'm speaking for every other customer I've seen taking care of by her she usually wears her glasses short braided hair chubby looking girl seems Dominican to me correct me if I'm wrong but she definitely dislikes serving customers what they want and Everytime I see her in the shop always slacking and sitting around making faces not sure why like I said before I'm not one to judge her but she definitely needs to treat customers better I'd love to speak with the manager whenever I get a chance if he's ever there to let him know about this matter other than that the low rating was mostly because of her everybody else is great keep it up!
Rude staff . I feel like they think they are doing the customers a favor by purchasing those donuts . Hard donuts stale and crappy toppings . Never again
This is only about the lattes.... everytime I go, I've been 5 times, i order the same one & it tastes different every time. Maybe they need to simplify the menu in order to perfect their craft.
Way too sweet . We tried the French toast, oreo cookie and apple pie. The maple bacon is good but the bacon is rubbery. Would be better if I could taste it with fresh warm bacon. Dont think we will be returning. If overly sweet is ur Thang then u would love it here. Just not for me..
Traveled all the way over through traffic to find out their kitchen closes at 3:00. Do NOT close your kitchen if you are not closed. I hate that.
I’m honestly really disappointed with my experience. I placed my order at 1:40 PM and arrived at 2:30 PM for pickup, only to find out my order wasn’t ready because they had run out of donuts. I then had to wait until 3:15 PM for them to make more. What made it worse is that my waffles and bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches were already prepared and just sitting there the entire time while we waited for the donuts. That’s not okay — hot food shouldn’t be sitting out that long. It’s a food safety concern and honestly defeats the purpose of placing an order ahead for pickup.
Their donuts are delicious but they need more staff members. On a daily basis they only have one person at the counter and it’s a long wait to get one simple donut. My husband and I left due to the waiting period.. unacceptable
I came through the whole city to try their famous chicken waffles just to find out that the kitchen closes at 1pm (I arrived at 2pm). Nobody said that anywhere so if you planning to eat there anything else than early breakfast just be prepared for only a donut.
I order the chicken and waffles combo. Highly disappointed the waffles tasted stale and the chicken tasted like reheated Walmart frozen chicken strips. Note to self don’t believe the food hype on ig
