Ordered on Grubhub and wow food is so good we have decided to go in and dine soon. I had trouble ordering and called in, the host was super nice and walked me through. We ordered the Farfalle Alla Pesto, Penne Alla Vodka, broiled salmon, chicken parm, calamari, mozzarella sticks. Everything was 10/10 so good. We even got bread with the order which was a nice surprise. Can’t wait to dine in!! Portions are huge so welll worthy the price.

It's a dimly lit gem in the Bronx. Prices are on the reasonable side. We ordered mussels in white sauce, which were excellent. Attention was taken with the order as I have food allergies. Also had a large pizza pie with prosciutto, artichokes, and ricotta cheese. We enjoyed every bit of it. I have returned since that first visit to have drinks and pasta, which did not disappoint. I will continue to visit this spot.

I was in the mood for my Italian in the Bronx so I went to Giovanni’s for takeout. I had cheese tortellini with chicken. It was a bit pricey, but I enjoyed nonetheless. I do wish they gave a bit more pasta for the cost.

So freaking good! I always get the same thing, chicken Alfredo, lasagna, and chicken parmigiana with penne and every time it’s just mouth watering! It’s expensive yes, but who cares with portions like this! Luv it!

My sister took me here for my pre- birthday which is actually on today November 7! It was Spectacular. I love the food and people at this restaurant in the bronx on the grandconcourse especially when they have love jazz on Thursdays the first of the month!

I hadn't been here in a long time and it was as great as I remember. The penne a la vodka was delicious and plentiful, enough to share with me friend and take home for her hubby. Service was very good and the ambiance pleasant. Must go again.

Haven't been to Giovanni's in a while, but when I do come, I am never disappointed. The food is always good. The Alfredo Fettuccine is a good selection. I didn't get it this time, but the Lobster Ravioli is one of my favorites there.

Giovanni's has the absolute 💯 best penne alvoka with chicken in the world. The service is A+ and the atmosphere is 2nd to none.

Mmmm mmmm mmmmmmmm. Yummy. I do love a goooood pizza. The staff definitely nailed it and there are several variations to choose from. I chose chicken and plain and the slices were beautiful and delectable to eat. The restrooms were clean, friendly staff, and very understanding. The garlic knots came out slightly burnt the first time but they were happy to remake a new order and that was greatly appreciated. Great decor, movable seating, and I did enjoy looking at that lobster fish tank. I will so come again when I have the time.

1st time here restaurant was clean, empty, employees polite, friendly. They don't have any ice tea but they do have sodas along with 2 bars. I had the mixed green salad and vegetables milestone soup both were good but too much for 1 person. But for large parties and small groups excellent choice. I definitely recommend this location

The food is excellent. Always! They close earlier than average pizzerias so get there early and grab a pie for yourself.

Food was very good could have been better but no because of the food it self, the server we had was a bit distracted ask for a chicken cutlet hero with lettuce and tomato and got it without. Two people in my party ordered one chicken cutlet wrap and one grilled chicken wrap and she brought them both grilled and when asked about it got the response they are the same both chicken... but overall food was good!!

I love Giovanni's/ G-Bar!!! It has been one of my faves to go too if I'm just trying to stay local in The Bronx. Atmosphere is nice, DJ and Karaoke on some nights, service is usually always good and precise, food and drinks is always good 🤌🏾. Can't go wrong. And on Saturday and Sunday's they have Brunch Specials where you pay one set price and eat what you want from a set menu buffet. It's very good.

I have passed this restaurant so many times before a friend invited me to lunch. I loved the food and the atmosphere. They have a great bar area and an upstairs sitting area. They have a generous parking lot across the street from the restaurant on 150th Street. Just as a note of interest, the restaurant is ten minutes from Yankee Stadium, if you are looking for a great restaurant before the game.

Italian food is another one of my favorites. Whenever I’m in the area I at least stop by for a slice of pizza. Their pizza is really delicious along with their pasta. Be careful when the pizza comes out of the oven as it is extremely hot. Most time I ask them not to make it so hot because I can’t wait to eat it. There is a seating area to consume your food. There is also seating for indoor dining. The service is fast and again the food is delicious. The staff are professional and friendly. There is a bar located downstairs where they play music, nice vibe to the place. The restaurant accepts cash and card for payment. They even deliver. There are restrooms located upstairs and downstairs. Give this place a try I’m sure you’ll like it.

Love this place but they lost a star recently because of a waitress shotty service. There were not enough table settings, and not enough glasses of waters for everyone at the table. We had to ask for everything multiple times when the food came out. Not once did she offer a refill on drinks. We had to keep calling her over. We ordered appetizers and when the empty plates were sitting in front of us too long we had to clean up the table ourselves. I'm usually more forgiving about slow service if the place is packed but there were no other tables full and she was literally standing near by doing nothing. I really love this place and go and order all the time. So I'm very disappointed in having to drop the star but no one really was apologetic. This price point is too high for the south bronx to get bad service. The food here is fantastic non-the-less.

We are long time customers here. On Feb14 we ordered for pickup, when I get home realized they send the order incomplete, call them back, talk to the manager and he said he will get back to me. Never heard from them again. I like the food there, but sometimes poor management can easily ruin a place's reputation on little easy to fix issues. This place has been serving the community for years and the food is great. There is one side that serves various dishes for indoor and the other side for all your pizza treats to eat in or take out. It is in the best location of Grand Concourse near the Subway, schools, colleges and Yankee Stadium

The food was pretty good but the price was way too high. I used to come here before the pandemic and the prices were reasonable for the community. I got charged $13 for two mostly fruit sangrias. Ok, no problem. I'm ready that. But the $25 for the cold cut wrap was ridiculous, especially after it took almost 20 minutes to be prepared. Oh, no no no. This is NOT the establishment I remember. If you choose to go here, the food is good and so are the drinks but they are overpriced.

I love this place. If they forget to give you a receipt your food is free. The lasagna is yummy for my tummy honey. So good. Price is nice. I also like the fact that the tables are set up for anyone to socialize by sitting next to total strangers.

It was crowded when I entered but the staff was moving fast and very attentive. They knew exactly who was next and was engaging with customers. I hit two pepperoni slices it was great although a little pricey $11.15. They have tap pay available now which I love. The only thing that I didn’t like about my experience here is that the person walked away with my receipt. Didn’t ask me if I want it. Just took it and walked away…very off putting. I don’t like this new culture of not giving people their receipt!

First time ordering from this restaurant and I enjoyed it! My boyfriend who has ate from this restaurant raves about their food. Very rare to find good pizza in the Bronx. We decided to go with pasta and chicken for our delivery. I ordered a dish I never had tried the Chicken Francese…it was delicious! The pasta was cooked and seasoned so well and the chicken was fluffy and very juicy! My boyfriend chose to get chicken parmesan and asked to get penne pasta and instead got spaghetti. Unfortunately he didn’t like the pasta and only ate the chicken :/ also I love when Italian bread is given but sadly ours was partially drenched in oil and wasn’t edible anymore. I would still like to order pizza from here one day though.

I would love to give 5 stars but honestly I'm 50/50 with this restaurant... I've never had a problem with the quality of food. This is my 2ND go to place for pizza. The mild wings have a unique, good tasting sauce. I've tasted about 70% of the menu through out the years and have enjoyed them all. I've had a couple of issues with delivery. The times I did, management resolved it immediately. I've read other reviews complaining about the delivery driver not going upstairs but come on, neither does dominoes or any other restaurant that delivers by car for that matter. The guys in the front counter have always been polite and efficient with my order but I can't say the same for the restaurant staff. My first few experiences were horrible. I may be extra critical because I've worked in hospitality practically my entire life BUT there are certain techniques you use for better customer service that the employees lack. The G Bar was no different than the restaurant floor, service wise. Bartender had a dry personality and did not know the menu for suggestions. Other than that, there was DJ Friday night and it was pretty busy...and loud. Overall, I keep coming back for the food. As far as the service, I learned to lower my expectations than to set myself up for disappointment.

The food is good. Honestly. The wait is not worth it. They were busy I'll give them that, but I waited an hour and 15 minutes to get the food. They ignored me because they were too busy and had nothing to tell me but wait. If I didn't go to them I wouldn't have figured this out. I could have fell asleep then woken up and still the food wouldn't have come. Amazing. The place looks nice though. Other patrons had the same complaint. People were getting up and telling them they had to leave.

God forbid you do not like what you order and ask to change it. I did not like a selection on the menu that I ordered so I wanted to switch it. The waitress calls over who I’m assuming is the manager and he is completely disrespectful, rude and belittling. I felt like a child being scolded for not liking food after he very loud and aggressively stated that it’s not their fault and that I better know what I like when I choose the next selection. I was not going to order again because of the way he spoke to me but, because my coworker recommended the place and I was with other coworkers and my supervisor who were celebrating me that night, I did. Atmosphere was nice but if this manager is working there another night I’m not sure if I want to attend before he places me in time out the next time.

This restaurant is one of the few good restaurants on this side of the Bronx. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is very chic. The food tastes good and the portions are good. My only issues is the price- you are prices just way too high. $28.00 for a bowl of Fettuccini Alfredo and $8.00 if you add chicken is just crazy. I want to support because you are a good Bronx restaurant but come on.

In the past, I had Sunday brunch there and it was really good. However, I was a bit disappointed with my most recent Sunday brunch visit 9/2/18. First, they served the processed "Brown n Serve" sausage and not a real Italian, breakfast sausage like the last time I went. The bacon was overcooked and not appealing to eat as well. The cost of the brunch was $31.95 per person and for three people plus tip, my bill was $124. They should keep the quality of the food A+ and not serve any processed type food nor badly prepared food. Not sure if they ran out of the good sausage and had to serve that. And if they got a new cook. I was shocked and not happy with my Sunday brunch. Also, some of the food choices were not heated and a bit cold. We arrived around 12:30 pm to make sure we got good seating. I am willing to try it again because my first experience was great. But if my third trip ends up being the same as my most recent visit, then I will find another brunch buffet spot.

I usually get the crab cake it’s so delicious but in my opinion it’s a pretty penny now. I only get it when I feel I deserve it, we pushing between about $27-28 bucks for two balls of crab cake.. Overall: overpriced but very delicious with the Russian sauce.

Well, the karaoke was okay. The drinks are overpriced as well as the food if you don't go at happy hour. And it only lasts 1 hour. The lobster goes very quickly, as does most of the other eats. The staff is very sloppy with debit/credit cards. They gave my friend someone else's credit card, and exclaimed, " oh, that's not yours, what about this one?? Are you serious ?!? I will pay with cash only, if I go again. The service leaves a lot to be desired. It's a girls after work hang out. It was okay

Been coming here for years and the it's like the food is getting downgraded. Today the pizza was a little dry. And I ordered a gyro, which was $15 and that's ridiculous. Then to top it off it wasn't even close to a gyro. More like a chicken wrap.

The service here is hit or miss. I keep coming back because the food is good but the prices are high and the staff 😒. I order before I come, my name and number is on file and the service is mid to low most times. I've said a few times I'm not coming but the food is good!

I used to love coming to this place. Mainly for their minestrone soup However when I ordered the soup from there today, there was a bug in it! Super grossed out. The only reason I am not leaving a one star is because when I called to make them aware, they refunded my purchase. The pizzeria part of this place is just how you would expect it to be. I have to say it looks clean and well kept. The staff is friendly enough. However the food is where I have an issue with it. The flavors weren’t the best, the portions are decent sized. The price are high for a pizzeria. They charging 19.00 for an appetizer of fried calamari seems a little high. If they at least were good I wouldn’t mind. But they were bland. Marinera sauce taste as if it was from a bottle of a brand that is not even good. Also I ordered a beer they charge me 7.00 a little expensive. My coworker asked for a can Pepsi and she was charged 3.00. This place is not affordable at all. Everything on their menu is in double digits, except for a slice of pizza. Not a place I would want to go for an affordable lunch. 30 plus dollar for an appetizer and a drink is not affordable. Overall not a place that I would recommend.

I was a big fan throughout the years, but unfortunately, this time was not a good experience. It has saddened me to see Giovanni fall off like this. As we enter the restaurant through the pizzeria immediately we were told we needed to exit and go through the other door to go to the dining room when in fact I know you can easily just go down the stairs to enter the dining room. That right there should have told me not to dine. We got seated down quickly, but it took our waiter a good amount of time to get to us. When we finally got our drinks, it was a horrible cheat vodka mixed up with all the wrong ingredients. I try to not complain and drink it but it was giving me a headache. I tried again to get the waiter's attention, but she again was too busy giggling with the busboy. I literally had to get up for my chair walk to get her attention and explain to her that I needed another drink that this was not good. The next drink was not okay, but it was better than the last. It was drinkable. The food was decent with decent portions but a salad with chicken for $26 plus tax? I don't know, but I think this is the last time I will be trying Giovanni. I think that I'd rather spend my money with better service and better drinks. Never did a negative review like this. Heartbroken.

This used to be one of my favorite places when I was a child. I have great memories of dining on the eggplant parm here with my dad, but we recently took my niece and the food was ok at best. Nothing like how I remember and the prices were too high for the quality.

They charge you an outrageous high price of $20 for an order of 10 piece wings. I usually eat my Buffalo wings plain anywhere else but this place not only charged so much for a 10 piece but the wings had no flavor at all. Waste of food and a big waste of money. If y'all going to charge people a high price for something, please make sure you execute the tasting of the food. Super market frozen wings has more flavor than these. Never coming back here again. My $20 gone down the drain.

I really want to give this place a 5-star review, but the middle of my calzone was cold, the presentation was terrible (see photo), they gave me 1/2 as many garlic knots as I saw the server carry to another table, and it didn't taste that good. I'm not even sure why I'm giving it 2-stars, maybe because the bathroom was clean?

I placed my order at 11:28 this morning, as I followed the recommended delivery time stated by Slice of 60-75 minutes. Our lunch period begins at 12:25 and I knew there was a chance that our order could come as late as 12:45. As soon as I received an alert that our order was coming after 1pm, I called the restaurant and pleaded for them to hurry our order so that students were not left hungry as I ordered for them. At 11:45 am, the woman at Giovanni's assured me that we would get our delivery by 12:30. At 12:47, I called the restaurant again and was told the order was already on the way and would arrive in a few minutes. At 1:17 I called slice, as instructed because I didn't receive my order. The rep called the restaurant twice, and was assured that the order was coming in 20 minutes, and then just 5. I was refunded only $10 and still had no pizza for hungry students. Once the pizza did come, it was lukewarm at best, and the quality is not what I have grown to expect from Giovanni's. I wouldn't recommend that anyone use slice nor order from Giovanni's if they are hungry or happen to need food within a two hour period. We finally received the pizzas (we only ordered 2, and nothing special on either) at 1:38pm. 130 minutes after I ordered.

On a random Wednesday night myself and a couple friends decided to stop in to Giovanni’s , I have eaten here a few years back so we decide to get dinner. We walk in there was nobody around. We had to walk to the back of the restaurant where the waitress was seated on her phone. After realizing that she actually had patrons she removed herself from the phone and sat us down. The restaurant is on the older side and smells of mildew. We should have left at that point but we like to support local businesses so we continued to order. The food was basic at best. We asked to order sangria and the waitress told us she didn’t have the ingredients to make it. Fine,we eat our high priced mediocre food. Another couple finally arrive and we see she served them a glasses of SANGRIA!! After noticing we asked the waitress why she told us she didn’t have sangria at that point you can tell she’s defensive. It honestly felt like she just didn’t want to make it for us because it was close to closing and it would have been more work for her on an easy night(we came in 2 hrs before they closed). For the prices you want your customers pay you should offer more ,GIOVANNIS! Now I understand why the whole restaurant was EMPTY, not a soul other than the loafing waitress!! The service was blah and you can make what they serve at home! Save your money !!! We should have went to Zona de Cuba across the street. 😕

I never had problem with Giovanni @ grand concourse for decades. Today I call to place an order for delivery 5/30/24 @ 6:30 pm .the lady answer the phone I tell her if they taking cash.because they have tooled cash after ordering on line for delivery.she said yes we do .then she ask me where you live? In the Bronx I said yes . She responded o I’m sorry we short of drivers.you have to order online .i request to speak to the manager! She says or he is busy & no one is here to take the call. I may have callen about 5 times after that & the manager isn’t available.so sad she was very unprofessional to valve customers like me… she told me to leave my name & number so she can forward it to the manager…so sad that they have people like her unprofessional working their & very unkind.will let me see if they call back …. Good night ..

Horrible staff. Acted like the couldn’t speak English when order was not ready. Ordered food, paid for it. Delivery wasn’t available. Went to pick up 40 mins later. Order wasn’t ready. No one spoke English all of a sudden. Called the lady that took the order, she was no help. Over $200 worth of food. Will never spend my money there again!!

Terrible customer service. I managed a mid town restaurant for years, and never had I experienced staff with such disregard for customers. The first instance I was met with a rude and clueless hostess who took my order over the phone. When I received my order and it was wrong I called back and she hung up on me twice then seemed irritated with me for the error. The evening manager was just as clueless and rude. They never fixed the problem. A few weeks I really wanted to give them another try, maybe they have an off night. I was greeted with another unintelligent hostess who charged my credit card 3x for the order. I'm done. This place isn't worth the headaches. They need a complete over haul of staffing and management.

Trash pizza.. not cooked. I ordered from Uber eats, and I requested crispy. It was the driest and most undercooked pizza I ever had. The worst. Go to best Italian pizza. That's the best around here

Would give zero stars if possible. Came for lunch.We waited over 1.5 hours and never received the food we ordered. Same for the tables around us. One table got up and left. They also tried to charge a mandatory 20% tip on the salad even though the food never came. Mind you we ordered 1 slice of pizza and two sandwiches. 1.5 hours and nothing. Also no apology from anyone. The waitress was irritated we didn’t give her a tip even though she never checked that the food never came even though we flagged her 3 times to please check. She also never brought our drinks. Crazy!

A review is overdue Juan is not manager material and Young lady who taken my order sadly doesn’t have any phone etiquette. I thought I called the wrong number for a second. She had a whole lots of silence in between taking my order. I had to ask her to confirm order back to me twice. Poor girl didn’t know what expiration date July 2020 she literally asked what’s the expiration number for July. Didn’t say Thank you or any empathy for her unprofessionalism and just hung up. That Placed me in a awkward position so I called back to confirm my order was correct since I had experienced my order coming incorrect before and same girl put me on hold without any warning. Just silence for a good 5 mins. Called back and finally Manager Juan. Unlucky me, he place me on hold 4 times 1-2 min holds asking me what’s my phone number ONLY, after I already provided 4 times! I honestly had to tell him to stop n get a pen n paper. His tone then became agitated and dismissive. I expressed how unprofessional this whole experience is and he just disregard. Blamed me for not being able to help me since I now am annoyed Owner needs to reevaluate his employees, ESPECIALLY WHEN MANAGEMENT CARELESS about Losing a loyal customer. I used to love ordering from here. prices went up with no superior customer services Got my order. Thanks for the not fresh burnt looking chicken

DO NOT ORDER PIZZA from here. It’s over $4 a slice and is okay at best. The plain slice was good but not $4 good. The slices are skinny as well. Don’t bother here at all. The interior is messy and old and is not inviting. GO TO LOUIE & EARNIE’S pizza instead. I paid $20 for 4 slices at Giovanni’s. You can get a small pie at Louie & Earnie’s for the same price and it taste miles better

food was not that good but what got me is that they charge for large party $89 . plus they add the tip there selfs $31 . I don't my to give 20 % tip but I dont think is okay the way they charge for lage party . Im not coming back to this place for sure .

I would give them less than one star if I could. I ask for extra sauce and extra cheese and pepperoni and they give me a dry pizza with very little cheese and charge me $30. I call back for a refund or a replacement and they offer me a $10 credit. They never honor their credits anyway and they wanted back a two day pie. Ewwww. Never giving them my money again. I hope they close.

Placed order online. Paid $9 delivery fee and tip on $40 meal. Half the meal didn't arrive. When we called to remind them, we had to wait another 60 minutes before the food arrived without any apologies or reimbursement. From initial order placed, took 120 minutes.

I ordered a chef salad and this is what I got. They did not add any salami or ham to my order and they charged me $20.69 I was very dissatisfied with my order.

What time does it open ?.. Last time I arrived around 1020 and was told they open at 11 but the site days 10...

Update 2025 June 8 I called to order a large pie and a 10 piece wings the girl I spoke with seemed nice and all I told her I wanted mild wings she said it’s like bbq sauce I said ok I want the spicy buffalo ones I hate bbq sauce she said ok I repeat the order 4 times to make sure she got it she repeated it 2 times I said ok total was 46$ husband went to pick it up and came home I opened the bag and I could smell the bbq sauce I looked at the wings color was burgundy because it was not the buffalo wings I ordered I called 5 times no one picked up my call husband called 4 times later nothing we did not eat them horrible I even repeated the order because I did not want her to mess it up I worked in a restaurant so I know I won’t be ordering again also the pizza sauce was very salty not sure why I like better the Giovanni’s in 167 pizza was 23$ wings 20$ 2018 Love going to this place well sometimes the drinks are great sometimes too strong sometimes not good the problem is that they change their bartenders all the time and not sure if they don’t know the measurements for the ounces of liquor or champagne I love their champagne cosmopolitan their food is always good love their cannolis very tasty also one time I went with my sister and they told us the sitting downstairs was close because of a family reunion from one of the managers we sat up next to the pizzeria and there was only one waiter there he was completely going crazy he had a full house and the lower part of the restaurant had all the other waiters which was crazy.

Came all the way over here for lobster I seen in the menu it turns out they have no lobster at all and the place isn't even the giovanni's anymore but they still have the name guess cause it had was good had the linguine it was good but I was here for the lobster as advertised call before you come plus the prices are way over priced 27 for a regular buger that's not the deluxe

The father of my child, as a nice gesture, decided to buy me and our daughter Giovanni’s for Valentines Day 2026. He got us chicken parm, meatballs and chicken franchise. We also got penne a la vodka on the side. The only positive is that everything was cooked perfectly. However, cooking is not just about cooking things throughly, it’s also about taste. Everything purchased tasted bland. The meatballs were absolutely terrible and had no flavor. The chicken parm was one of the most flavorless chicken parm’s I’ve ever had in my life. Chicken franchise tasted watered down and also had no flavor. While everything was cooked well, everything tasted horrible and was difficult to eat due to the lack of flavor. I would never buy entrees from this restaurant and just stick to pizza. The staff needs to be trained on how to use seasoning when cooking. I’m sure he spent about $50-60 on all of that food and more than half of it went in the trash.

UPDATE!!! STAY AWAY!!! THIS PLACE HAS ROACHES/ WATERBUGS & STAFF/ MANAGEMENT DOES NOT CARE!!!! I've been a customer for years and as of late, the slices are over cooked/ burnt, and are much smaller than a few months ago. It's definitely not currently worth over $4

If I could give it ZERO STARS , I would. My firm orders from them all the time spending more than $200 dollars on each order throughout the year. However today we placed another HUGE order only to have items missing and RAW FOOD sent. When we called to speak to the manager to complain they kept us on hold for over half an hour and when the manager did come on the phone he refused to accept responsibility for the RAW FOOD and missing items essentially speaking to us rude and cussing us out and hung up the phone on us. DO NOT EAT FROM THIS PLACE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE OR YOUR HEALTH BY SENDING RAW UNCOOKED FOOD AND THEY ACCEPT ZERO RESPONSIBILTY. Save your money and health and order from somewhere else.
