Love the food here. We ordered Qabuli rice, chappali kabab and mixed grill. The salad and sauce on the side is good. The music was a good boost to the atmosphere. It was a little cold and people were wearing their jackets so the feel immediately goes from a nice restaurant to an average place that has good food only. This is our go to place for lunch whenever we visit Brooklyn.
Dunya Kabab House is a standout spot for anyone who loves rich, authentic flavors and generous portions. The food is consistently fresh and well-prepared — the kebab meat is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, while the sides like rice, salads, and sauces tie everything together beautifully. Whether you order a wrap, a platter, or a full grilled meal, you can count on bold flavors and satisfying portions every time. The staff is welcoming, polite, and efficient, always making sure customers are taken care of. Even during busy hours, orders come out quickly and the service remains friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. Dunya Kabab House is an excellent choice for a flavorful meal at a reasonable price. If you’re looking for quality Middle Eastern cuisine with great service, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended!
I stumbled upon this restaurant by accident because I needed to use the restroom—and I’m so glad I did! The service was just as amazing as the food, and the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, too. I’ll definitely be coming back. Whether you come with friends, family, or even on your own, you’ll be glad you did! Thank you for the great experience and delicious food!
It's been years since I had Afghani food. This was the perfect place to retaste the Afghani kebabs. Taste: I ordered chicken kebab. It was perfect, soft, tender & juicy. The rice was soft & fresh. White sauce & hot sauce almost tasted authentic. Price: I think it's a bit expensive. (chicken kebab$19.00 with carrots &raisins). Service & atmosphere : Pretty pleasant atmosphere. It's a newly decorated place, clean environment & they talk nice & polite. Overall: I do recommend this place if you like Afghani cuisine. U have a good life 😁. My YT(Jafar Escape)
If you want a 5 star meal that tastes like an immigrant mom made it with love in her no-frills but comfy home, pull up ASAP. Both the taste and hospitality made the experience like you were sharing the meal at a family friend’s home. Portions were generous and everything tasted super fresh, including the sauces which we loved. The kababs and lamb shank were a carnivore’s dream. Ending night with the creamy firnee was perfect. Found out that they deliver as I was walking out, and in think this is gonna be a problem lol. What we got, no misses: Bolani Gandana, Mantu, Chicken Kabab, Beef Kofta Kabab, Lamb Shank, and Firnee.
My best friend and her boyfriend were visiting me this past weekend and on a whim we came across Dunya Kebab House. When I tell you, this was the most flavorful chicken, lamb, and rice you have to believe me. I grew up in New York City, so I’ve ate at a handful of places and this place has definitely been pinned to my brain. My best friend’s boyfriend is Indian and he also was in full agreement with my verdict. Not sure if that changes anything for whoever’s reading this. You just have to trust to believe this food is genuinely amazing. The staff is also very nice and patient. The restaurant is clean and you clearly see through the big windows that their kitchen is no different. Prices are reasonable for how much you get. Will be back again.
Dunya Kabab House is hands down the best Afghan restaurant in Brooklyn! My friends and I keep coming back because the food is simply amazing. The quality is top-notch, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. Every dish we’ve tried has been full of flavor, from the perfectly grilled kebabs to the deliciously seasoned rice. The service is always friendly and welcoming, making the dining experience even better. If you’re looking for authentic Afghan cuisine, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!
Review: 5/5 Stars I recently visited Dunya Kabab House for the first time, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! The ambiance of the place is warm and inviting, making it perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. I opted for the shrimp kebabs, and they were cooked to perfection – juicy, flavorful, and seasoned just right. My friend had the chicken kebabs, which were equally delightful, tender, and full of rich, aromatic spices. The portion sizes were generous, and we both left feeling very satisfied. In terms of pricing, Dunya Kabab House offers great value for money. The prices are quite reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes of the dishes. It's definitely a place where you can enjoy a hearty, delicious meal without breaking the bank. Overall, Dunya Kabab House exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious kebabs and a pleasant dining experience. I will certainly be returning to try more items from their menu!
Food was fresh and tasty, service was great, and atmosphere is so cute. They have the cutest decorations on the walls including paintings and a map. I ordered the chicken kebab without the qabuli and it was delicious and fresh. They have complimentary sauces on the table and I added the white sauce and a red sauce and it enhanced the flavors! 10/10
A friend and I met there for an exceptional dinner recently. The food was delicious, with nuanced flavors in every beautifully prepared dish. The service was incredibly gracious too. We arrived early (6pm on a Monday night), were the only guests there and were sat at a table for 6 up at the front. A few others trickled into the place as dish after delicious dish arrived at our table... but by the time we left, the place was packed (justifiably so!). They clearly needed the table back - yet they brought us an unexpected complimentary rice pudding treat rather than rush out the door. Amazing. I'll definitely be back - many times!
This place just blew my mind - Everything we ordered was so so so good! I highly recommend the braised lamb shank, it is just phenomenal! The meat literally falls off the bone and it is so tender and so flavorful, cooked perfectly. The mixed Bolani was very crispy and burst with flavors. The service was very good. Highly highly highly recommend this place! Updates on Oct. 9th: Came back in one week because we crave for that lamb shank. It is still very very good! Also tried the lamb chop, recommend!
A friend and I decided to check out this new Afghan restaurant and wow! Everything was so good. We shared the mantu, eggplant borani, mixed Kabab platter, a basket of naan, the custard dessert, and some lovely Afghan green tea. There is also beautiful art and Afghan rugs on the walls, and our server Mohammad was so kind. I will definitely be returning!
We decided to try this place because of its great reviews and proximity to the Botanical Garden in Queens. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. I loved the artwork and the little touches that really showcase Afghan culture. We tried the lamb shank and manto, and both were delicious. Definitely a spot I’d love to come back to and try more dishes!
Accidentally discovered this hidden culinary treasure with friends. The food is delicious and prices are very reasonable. The staff was friendly and attentive, delivering great service. Great value for your money. Interesting decorations on the walls, including the famous Afghan girl from National Geographic. The food is the star here, with so many flavors!
Food flavor isn’t upto the make, rice has strong taste of zeera(cumin) they don’t give free bread like most restaurants do as with entree. The food taste more Pakistani than afghan. Order rice and chicken kebob at king gyro few blocks down and it tastes the same but with less price . I tried their mix platter and the meat is definitely less in portion. those who tried real afghan food knows this place doesn’t provide that authentic taste.
I had high hopes and paid 117 for two order of kebobs and mango lassi and humans. The kebobs are dry the rice is dry the mango lassi is in need of mango. I should have just gone to gyro king or gyro cafe. This is definitely not worth it and I will not be going backs. Also the delivery guy tried to leave my food in the lobby of my building. I had to keep insisting he bring it at least to my floor. Definitely not worth the money! And not good it’s missing flavor and moisture!
