I highly recommend their subscription box which is customizable and always full of delicious beans... and sometimes some special surprises, too!! I have been buying coffee from City League for a while now, and really appreciate everything about the experience. Come to find out, some local shops even carry City League <3 around me. The community and connection focused approach they take to coffee is an asset, and, I am able to inquire about their current offerings directly - speaking with the roaster himself :)

City League’s beans brew beautifully no matter how I prepare them—whether it’s a pour-over or espresso, the flavors always shine. The roasts consistently bring out nuanced notes that keep me hooked with every cup. You can tell they focus ethical sourcing , quality and precision, making their coffee a staple after you try it.

We are locals that have been coming here from the very beginning years ago and it is safe to say that besides being the best coffee in a 5 mile radius they are a community hub that puts people before profit. It’s hard for Americans to nail a good flat white but city league never lets me down and delivers A grade espresso every time. If you are a coffee enthusiast you have buy some of their beans to take home with you. They collaborate with specific coffee bean growers and use process called washing with particular fruits like watermelon or cherry. And if you’re a coffee traditionalist they got you on that too! A high light of Bay Ridge!

Very balanced and full of flavor coffee with a hint of sour to add to character. Coffee spot on, desert selection was so so but decent selection, was hopeful I would see and try something out of the ordinary that I usually spot in small coffee shops. Ample seating room with backyard

Stopped by today with my child to do some work and grab a bite and it was a great experience! Staff were extremely friendly and attentive pretty good selection of things to eat. That turkey sandwich was the absolute best! My kiddo inhaled it and the lemonade. Love the spacious tables and music. Honestly super chill place to get some work done when you need a change a scenery especially when you work from home. Will definitely be back!

City League is a great little shop. I particularly like that they roast their own coffee. There are it seems, more coffee shops in the neighborhood, but most rely on coffees they obtain from a roaster. CL coffees are delicious and quite varied, I like I can get a “poured over” cup. There’s a certain cameaderie to the café, which often has activities going on: such as Parent’s Mornings on Fridays, Open Mic events, Holiday Sale Events, Board Game Events, Paint & Sips, in short, City League is like a Community Space that happens to serves AWESOME coffee. They have a few sandwiches available, just enough to take the edge off, from feeling peckish, and a variety of sweets with a special highlight to the homemade offerings by Monica, be that cookies, cupcakes, cakes and even quiches. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, There’s a restroom, which is always clean, and when weather permits it, there is a backyard space. Dane, the owner, is affable and knows mostly everyone by name and is always gracious, as is his wife and kids that sometimes can be seen. This is hands down our favorite coffee shop. The BEST customer service you could ask for. All the staff go out of their way to make you feel like friends when you walk in. Also the most family friendly, which we love! The menu is the perfect combo of the classics you want and something new and fresh every season. So grateful you’re in the neighborhood CL!

Unfortunately still not have gotten to be an in person customer, but I am a monthly subscriber and my order has always been the greatest. Best coffee ☕️ ever drank by me. I wish I could gatekeep this cafe! It’s the perfect spot for studying during finals. Their coffee and matcha are amazing, and the overall vibe is great. The only thing they could improve on is lowering the volume of the music—it’s a bit too loud at times. Other than that, I highly recommend coming here, whether you’re looking to study or catch up with a friend.

I love City League Coffee, it's one of my go to's in Brooklyn! I love the quality of the coffee as well as the space in the cafe. The owner sometimes hangs out and is always willing to have a cool conversation and always has events for the surrounding community.

Have stopped in several times to the get a fresh coffee to go and purchase beans. Really enjoyed the coffee and the special collab blends! Just received our first mail order! Very impressed with the package. Dane put a hand written thank you in the box along with some unexpected goodies!! We will order again I’m sure! But also visit the brick and mortar location! Well worth the 2.5 hr. drive… oh and visit family.

I was on the hunt for a dog-friendly coffee shop near me. I walk my furry friend in the mornings, and I didn’t want to leave her outside or in the scorching heat. So, I stumbled upon City League Coffee. I ordered a matcha and iced coffee, and let me tell you, they were both absolutely delicious! And guess what? They even gave my dog a free treat, which she absolutely loved. I’m definitely making it a weekly habit to visit City League Coffee.

Best cafe in Bay Ridge if you ask me. I’m a coffee enthusiast and the quality of the espresso is insanely good. The environment is perfect for studying as a college student myself. The staff are so friendly; it’s so hard to find such great customer service in this area. Every time I’ve visited this coffee shop, I always get greeted in the most genuine way. The coffee/ matcha never disappoints; the quality is always excellent. I even brought a coworker there and she loved it! You most likely won’t regret your visit there!

I’ve never had better than the cakes and pies they make, and I’m not even exaggerating). If you get hungry, they also have chicken and turkey sandwiches. Atmosphere: The best place to study or work. They have clean, spacious tables, comfortable chairs, and cable outlets everywhere. Staff: The friendliest people you’ll ever meet, so kind and always smiling. Dane, the owner, is such a down-to-earth person with the best energy. He’s always in a good mood! Bottom line, I love this shop so much. They’re literally my second family now, and they deserve all the support because they bring their best every single day.

I'm not going to review the coffee in this review, but the coffee here is great. This place is also the local cafe where people can gather, work, sit, and just enjoy a little coffee and food, so please come here! The atmosphere is really warm and it has a cool, industrial vibe. Aside from the coffee, my wife and I have gotten hooked on the Chicken Pesto panini here. It is a REALLY good sandwich. The price is fair, I believe around 10-12 bucks after tax, and it can feed two people decently well if split (one person will definitely be fill on it) The sandwich is served hot and brought to you with chips and it is so good. It's a simple panini with chicken, pesto, basil, and mozzarella, but they way they make it here is perfect. My wife and I like it so much we bought the ingredients and made it at home one day. While good, it wasn't quite as good as the way City League does it. I think for the value, it's a great choice for a snack or small meal, especially if you are at the cafe anyway.

I was sad that they didn’t have any more of those awesome stickers last time I went and so I contacted them to see if they have anymore stickers anywhere that I was willing to pay for. They replied pretty much immediately and held onto to some stickers for me free of charge! Awesome business!

i actually stumbled upon this cafe while waiting for my friend but it was such a pleasent suprise! now im usually not a coffee person (unless i am on a ddl) so i felt bad asking the barista for recommendation when coffee takes up most of the menu...but she was so nice!! i thought it would be kind of awkward but she was so so nice about it that felt completely natural and friendly. i think her name was kloriane (?) she's an asian girl, anyway the matcha latte she made was also great!! it had the perfect balance between milk and matcha, not grainy at all, and doesn't taste like straight grass! i would def recommend if you are also not super into coffee. they have wifi here & i think they also do community theme nights and events based on the season !! super community orienated and its not normally seen anywhere in a fast paced city like nyc

What can I say? I love this coffee but it goes far beyond just the coffee. Dane and the other wonderful individuals at City League just care about what they do, what they sell, and who they sell to. I can honestly consider Dane a friend of mine and I’ve never met the guy. This is because of his willingness to show kindness and provide an excellent coffee in the process. I live over 1,200 miles from Brooklyn and I can honestly say I’ll be a “regular” for a long time. Not only are you getting a carefully selected, roasted, and packaged coffee, but also getting an amazing experience to share. Buy this coffee and you’ll see what I mean. Absolutely fantastic.

As a coffee photographer, I get the chance to taste a lot of different coffees from all over the world and I can tell you City League Coffee is top notch! Guadalupe and the Giant Peach was one of the most unique coffees I tasted in 2018. Seriously looking forward to my next batch from City League! This is one of my all-time favorite coffee roasters and definitely the best I've had in Brooklyn!

I bought my first bag of Bodega Blackout and I've never tasted coffee with such bold, natural flavors! I usually prefer sweet, flavored coffee but this one tops them all! We have the bag sitting in our kitchen and even though it's sealed, we always get a whiff of it as we walk by. Shipped very quickly. Would highly recommend!

As a loyal repeat customer who has visited your establishment many times, I was disappointed to hear about your refusal to let a familiar customer use the restroom simply because they weren't making a purchase at the time. This customer should have been remembered, and your failure to offer a basic courtesy has now cost you their business—and mine as well. We won’t be returning. Customer loyalty isn’t just about the transaction, it’s about relationships. Neglecting to recognize and respect loyal customers damages trust and ultimately costs you repeat business and revenue. It’s unfortunate that such a small moment has led to the loss of loyal customers.

As we were leaving the shop, another man entered and was immediately greeted and serviced by the employees. This incensed me and I decided to return to take some additional photos to show just how empty the shop was and how there was no excuse for the employees to blatantly ignore us completely other than perhaps racism or just plain hipster judgement. This place is trash based on the complete lack of customer service and clique-ish environment.
