Really well crafted beer, and just s cool place to hang out.
Delicious beer with unique options. Bring your own food!
Great beer. Cool scene. So laid back, lots of space.
Just discovered this awesome spot...great look to the space and beer tastes great!!
Great spot... was formerly Tom and Gerry’s Artistic Deli I think ... SK?
Great beer, very cool taproom. Ask for a tour!
Great spot for a local brew. Board games are a nice touch.
Love the space and beer. Good price too.
Space is great, beer is great, lots of board games, and close to the trains.
Great staff and vibe with an awesome beer selection!
Everything is great here... Large selection of beers, something for everyone... The space is open and comfortable. Order in any food you want...
It's a cool place with reasonably priced beer. If you like five borough beer you'll love this place.
Delicious beers. Sympathetic staff. Great atmosphere. Thank you for this beautiful afternoon. We'll be back soon!
Really nice and quote large inside. The bartenders are really nice, the beers are excellent, and they even have board games!
Nice place for small group gathering, inexpensive, but lacking in food service. Great for meeting before going out to dinner.
Chill place with a good amount of beer options. Music was good they have games and you can order any food you want to the bar!
Super nice and cozy spot. Their beers are great. Staff are nice aswell
Great Space with great beer. Friendly staff. My go to for picking up local beer.
Fun! Nice selection and great taste. Recommend checking out this place with friends. Cool Atmosphere.
Can't wait to try the other beers we had the imperial Stout tonight it's very good at 13% alcohol
A CB oasis in the industrial zone. A trip to/from there is a little bit challenging without a car service, the inside space is comfortable for drinking. Friendly staff.
Nice variety of brews, clean space, and fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Great vibes, beer, and staff (who happen to be the actual brewers)
Really good spot. They have best Sour beer in the city!
Great place with great beer. Always coming out with new crafts that are great.
Amazing and delicious beer. Strongly recommend the mixed berry sour beer.
Really cool place to stop by and have a beer and just chill. great selection of beer and it's all exceptionally fresh being that you're at the brewery staff is really nice atmosphere is good great tunes overall was a wonderful place to go during quarantine and get back to normal life.
This place is great. It was deserted on a Sunday night, and my girlfriend didn't feel super comfortable walking there, but the best beer I had in NYC. Quit reading reviews and just go drink a beer.
Had an amazing time. The beer is fantastic, I took place in one of the daily tours. The guy who gave us the tour, we were the only ones on the tour, was very knowledgeable about the beers and the process. I had an amazing time, if you are there, try the quad and the Gose.
A favorite [somewhat hidden] gem with a great space and a beer appreciating crowd. Expect parents and dog owners sipping tasty pints and flights. Growlers and cases available to go!
Super chill brewery with great beers. Trivia every Sunday at 5pm. Family friendly. Bring your own food.
Loved this place. Friendly bartenders, big bar and lots of beer choices. My favorite brews were, the Quad, vickys Daydreamer, and Gose. Its worth checking out and tasting their beers.
Five Boroughs is awesome. Never as crowded as the more downtown breweries but the beer is just as good. Great vibe, great place to hang.
Friendly and knowledgeable bar staff serving absolutely fantastic beer. Plus fun events and a neighborhood hangout vibe. Highly recommended for a weekend drink.
Five Boroughs has a really cool space - lots of room with some great beers on tap. Not as heralded as some of the other Brooklyn-based breweries but still a great place to grab a pint and relax.
Great brewery with a great selection of beers. The space is awesome great area with games and tons of room. Great place for a group outing. The bartenders are amazing.
The space is huge, they have party games and best of all... the beer is great! One of the best brewery experiences I had in the city.
Good beer and service. Was there on a Friday night and plenty of seating was available. You can order food via delivery services (grub hub, Uber eats, etc).
Always a great selection of beers, (The black lager is wonderful). always a good crowd, atmosphere is the best. Really enjoy visiting here.
Excellent in-house brewed beer right on the premises; very knowledgeable and friendly staff add to the unpretentious atmosphere of the brew pub. I highly recommend a trip and a few pints!!!
Awesome atmosphere and even better service. Kevin did a great job recommending beers and telling the history of the brewery. A definite must go!!!
This place is amazing. The owner is friendly, knowledgeable, and very passionate about his craft. Good space in the tap room and the service was 5 star. Would highly recommend.
This place is unbelievable. Unique, smart, so good. Haven't been this impressed with a brewery ever. Run, don't walk. So good!
Great beer, awesome bartenders. Big tap room, so we didn’t feel crowded. Played some board games!!
Came here for a friend’s party. There was an open door atmosphere unmatched by many taphouses. Warm environment that is very kid friendly as well. The “better than though” attitude was nowhere to be felt. Staff was quite receptive and kind. Street parking was easy. Combine all of this with excellent beer, and it’s everything you could want from a brewery.
I love craft beer, and had a few from this place before coming that were okay. I was blown away by the quality and selection here! Bartender was super friendly, and the space was huge! Highly recommend!
My wife and I visited this brewery on our most recent trip to NY. Everything about this place was top notch. The staff was super friendly, every beer I had was unique and delicious, and the board game selection was stellar. This place has the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing evening with friends and family. Thank you Five Boroughs for making our night in Brooklyn so memorable, we can't wait to come back.
Loved the tour. I was eager to learn some background on how it was founded. I met one of the co-founders. He even showed us some before and after pictures. I am a native of Sunset Park and was very happy to see this new establishment. We didnt have a brewery in the neighborhood so it's nice to have such a great place where you can bring your own food, kids and dog, if you wanted.
I always have a great time at Five Boroughs! It has become my new go to spot on the weekends. They have a great selection of beers that appeal to everyone. They range from traditional German styles to East Coast DIPAs and even fruited beers that can convert non-beer drinkers. I love that the variety and rotation allows me to try new beers/styles each visit. The staff is always friendly and on top of taking orders, the taproom is always clean, and their board games are a great addition for hanging with friends.
I had a company gathering in this establishment not so long ago and it was fantastic. Service was amazing, very clean, there beer was phenomenal and they give you a variety of board games so you can enjoy with friends. Also loved the fact that they brew there own beer. Highly recommend this place.
I celebrated my birthday here about 2 weeks ago and could not have picked a better place. I emailed Blake and Kevin (who are super friendly) and they responded immediately. They reserved a table for me and my 15 friends. We brought snacks and enjoyed their amazing beer. I had the Pineapple Mango Gose, which was to die for! Everyone of my friends could not get over how awesome the brewery was. We had wonderful servers, James and Kevin, who took great care of us. They were so friend and attentive. My friends and I felt so welcomed and we had such a fun and relaxed time.
One of my favorite breweries that I have been too, just wish it was in a more convenient spot for me! Amazing selection year round, and all of their stuff is great. Brut IPA and Gose are probably my top 2, but I also love the pilsner and normal IPA. Session Stout is a great pick for the winter time. Great staff, cool spot near the water in Brooklyn, and AMAZING beer. Can't wait to return again!
Always a fantastic time here! The space is grear for groups and dates and super relaxed. The beer offerings are varied, adventurous and always changing. The staff and owners really go out of their way to make things great. BYOF is encouraged from the local area and we love that almost as much as the extensive collection of board and card games available. We love the brewery!
Five Boroughs Brewing not only had great Beer but their staff was well informed and friendly to say the least. It is nice to go to a large scale brewer and feel like your part of the fringe. Have to say my last experience will be the first of many. Truly enjoyed it from start to finish.
My favorite of the 3 breweries we checked out tonight! From out of town, so limited time to check out places. But nice space with delicious beer, not crazy loud music so you can hold a conversation. I really enjoyed the mango saison, and if you like IPAs their west coast IPA was really good. 5 stars all around!!!
Great beer and fun atmosphere. In town from MPLS and spent 5 hours here today. Had a great time and beer tender was super friendly. Will stop in again next time we are in Brooklyn visiting our daughter.
Wow, First sip of the gridlock hazy IPA made me snap to! Was not expecting the substantial mouth feel from this hazy IPA with a great balance of oat malt and grapefruit hop. I expected it to be lighter. But it almost felt creamy. Not heavy, but much more mouth feel than I’m used to when I’m not drinking an imperial/double ipa. This IPA delivers. I’m buying in Long Island supermarkets and this baby was in ShopRite! 🙏 This one will join my rotation.
Huge fan of these guys, did their gas service a few years back, it was the first time hearing of them .. Down to earth place, great guys, clean & great place to hang out .. it’s nice to see the expansion, I just picked up a pack of the imperial gridlock far out on Long Island 🔥 Cheers everyone 🍻
While it might be slightly off the beaten path (at least for me), this place is legit with great beers, atmosphere and service. Kid friendly with games and large tables. Will be back.
Local beer. Industrial setting. Board games. Ample seating. Handicap accessible Bring a growler to have more at home. Good beer and it's getting better They do flights, but don't order flights when it's crowded. Good lighter beers. And they aren't all about crazy stupid flavors
They make great beers, they do all over the board in terms of beers. They specialize in IPA but do all sorts of beer. Very industrial setting. A handful of tables but lots of standing area. It was pretty quiet on the Saturday night we were there and chatted with the brewer. Oh and they have board and card games. Fun chill low key vibe in an industrial setting.
As a fan of Craft Beer it was great to be able to visit Five Boroughs Brewing Co on a visit to to Brooklyn in June 2019. Brooklyn has a number of excellent established and upcoming Breweries and well worth a visit. We’d been to the Brooklyn Brewery a few years ago so when we stayed in Fort Greene it was good to see what other breweries we could visit we hadn’t before. Five Boroughs looked to have a good Tap Room along with a good selection of beers. We visited on a Saturday late afternoon and the Brewery was lively and looked to be busy with both locals and visitors. The Tap Room is spacious with plenty of seating and light from the large windows at the front. There is a good selection of beers on tap, I particularly liked the United by Beer. The staff were very friendly and there was a great atmosphere. Well worth a visit and we’ll be back next time we’re that way.
I discovered Five Boroughs Brewing during a walk in the neighborhood of Sunset Park. I veered off my normal path saw some folks hanging out outside of a well lit place and went in to check it out. The weekend vibe in this establishment is very professional and casual at the same time. The taproom was absolutely spotless and filled with patrons enjoying themselves. I was there to late to take a brewery tour, but got the chance to try a few different beers. Overall I found this to be a great place to grab a drink and hangout with good company. They dont have much in terms of bar snacks, but you are encouraged to order or bring your own food. Totally looking forward to returning soon.
Large tap room and a 30-barrel brewing facility located in an old steel factory. 12 house-brewed beers on tap, served as a full or half pour to stay, and in growlers to go. Prices starting at $5. Complete with an elevated stage for live performances and a gift shop. Oh and it's dog friendly!
No walk in tours, which is very disappointing. But I enjoyed the seltzer.
Great space! Good beers with a decent selection and wide variety from ipas to goses to stouts. Also offer wine and cider. Not too far from the subway. Only two snack options on the menu but you can order food for delivery and we heard there's a food truck outside on occasion.
Solid beer and the people that work there are great. The space is nice and classic industrial. Look forward to coming back again.
Five Boroughs is a great sunny, Saturday afternoon spot to go. Very cool environment with big open windows, tons of tables, and a bunch of board games for your leisure. They usually have a large range of beer to choose from and they all are pretty good. Pricing is good for a brewery. The times I have gone it has not been overcrowded. A little far to get to, but definitely worth the trip.
Really nice brewery. Very cool spot with a modern industrial vibe. Came in with some friends to try a flight and liked the beers, although they were good; not great. Server was well informed. Lots of seating and they also have a bunch of board games to play while you’re there.
Good beer and a nice place. However they are impossible to get in touch with you if you have any questions.
Big open space. Lots of beer options. Beer quality is stagnant. Better options nearby, who is here?
I like IPAs. They had an adequate amount of IPAs that I liked. I took home a small growler of one of them, but I would’ve liked to have taken home my larger 64 oz growler, he said they limit amount on certain beers because of popularity. When he filled my smaller growler he didn’t fill it all the way to top I didn’t realize until I got home.
The place was great. As born and raised in Brooklyn New York , I like when new things arises in the area. The beers were great and the service was okay. We got two flights and two drinks. I wanted to know more about the establishment and the beers, but every time I tried to struck a conversation I was immediately ignored. As the only two Latinos, we just felt a little ostracized.
I visit new breweries whenever I can and decided to pay a visit to Five Boroughs during my stay in New York. The brewery has a single indoor space with no separation. No food is present except bagged snacks. They have a table with boardgames and a small area for kids to play. It felt like the area is not insulated well as it was pretty chilly inside. The beers are just OK. Nothing more. They are not bad, but also they do not add anything new to the craft beer scene. The tap list is heavy in IPAs and has several European options as well. You can order a beer flight of 5 to try multiple beers. I was not impressed by any of my choices. If you do not search for craft beers, they should be fine - the beers are really safe and generic. This is a nice place to hang out with your friends, but if you're looking for anything new in the beer styles - you might want to look elsewhere.
Came here on a Thursday night to play games and try their beers. I didn't realize they close by 10pm on Thursdays so we only got about 90 minutes of playing/drinking time. I got their beer flight: 5 - 5oz pours for $14. Pretty good deal. Their shandy was absolutely delicious: crisp and refreshing. I could drink a gallon of it and not be sorry. LoL. Their game selections are on point also. The pieces are a bit sticky but what do you expect from board games at a bar? I guess my point of contention, and the reason this place only gets 3 stars is the service. It was not a busy night at all. I'd say there were 10 people there, plus our group of 5. The bartender couldn't be arsed to walk away from his conversation to serve me. I stood there, at the bar, money in my hand, for an uncomfortable amount of time, just staring at the bartender and at the beer taps as he talked to his friend. I get that you must be engrossed in such an interesting conversation but you're there to work Mr. Bartender, not hang out with your friends. You can easily serve me my drinks and then go right back to hanging out with your friend. I've read in other reviews that the service here isn't great and I just lay witness to it. It's a shame because the beers are great. The prices are reasonable and the space itself is beautiful. I feel like I'd come back here again just for the beers but I won't be expecting to be blown away by 5 star service.
I’d give 4 stars because the Place is nice but staff is not very inviting the seem cold and standoffish. They do their business and pretty much stay to their own group. I’m not looking for a best friend but It would be nice if they were a little more attentive to new comers. Maybe I’ll go back and hopefully they will be more friendly.
Beers are on the basic / uninteresting side. Everything is pretty safe, nothing really stood out to me. It's a decent brewery if you're into more milder european beers. A few of their taps purported to be Czech style but they didn't taste as good as basic Czech beers I've had before. Very nice tap room with a lot of room to spread out, friendly service. It just all left me craving superior basic Czech and German beers. 😐
If I could give -5 I will , I place two orders just got one, and the next one after 15min of wait.... very rude stuff as well....
Very poor customer service. Bartender refused to serve me because he wanted to save this beer for other customers
Poor food, terrible service, ok beer. You can do much much better at other Brooklyn based breweries. Finally, thier bathrooms are disgusting.
