My husband & I always love going here. Their food is so delicious and fresh. Always have a nice variety of food and the papusas are our favorite. Everyone there is so welcoming and nice and a beautiful atmosphere inside. We will continue to travel to this place when we crave it.
I love Maria and Luis! They are the nicest most hospitable people. The food is absolutely delicious. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like to try excellent Salvadoran food. Thank you, Maria, Thank you, Luis for all your magnificent food!!
Food: Some of the best pupusas I’ve had. And their chips+guacamole are great! I like lime-forward guacamoles and they definitely fit the bill! Food presentation could use some work for their pupusas but the taste definitely makes up for it. Service: Very attentive, no complaints. Atmosphere: Very welcoming. Well-kept and clean. Overall: Would 100% recommend for good food and a comfortable place for lunch and dinner. I didn’t get to try their breakfast but it also looked good from other guests.
Just came here off of a friend's memory. We walked in. Immediately greeted..their menu was great sized. We went ahead and opted for the buffet ish food behind the glass. Me and my partner got something different. The person was SO HELPFUL. Offered to let us taste of we needed. We got different beans but they were both impeccable. We got to try a papusa and omg it was the best I've ever had.
The restaurant proves that sometimes public opinion is correct. The dishes preserve traditional preparation techniques. Whoever oversaw operations was remarkably welcoming. This place deserves all its success. I was thoroughly satisfied here.
Go here like almos 5 to 6 times a month. This place serves really good Salvadoran food. Family owned. Very polite. No long wait for for food.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Feels like home — absolutely delicious! Gran Villa is a true hidden gem! The beef was incredibly tender and flavorful, the beans were rich and tasty, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the vegetables were fresh and full of flavor. Every bite reminded me of home-cooked meals — just like at grandma’s house. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and welcoming. It’s clean, well-organized, and beautifully decorated. The staff is polite, attentive, and truly cares about the guests. You feel like family the moment you walk in. If you're looking for authentic Salvadoran, Latin American, and Italian cuisine served with heart — this is the place. Five stars without a doubt. Highly recommended!
Luis is really amazing and makes you feel like you are home. The coffee is the “best in Brooklyn”! It really is the best. But that was just the beginning. Luis told me to experience El Salvadoran food I had to start with the pupusas. I wish everyone could have this experience! I had the pork and cheese pupusa with some tomato sauce and pickled cabbage on top, as well as a jalapeño cilantro green sauce that Luis brought out to try. It was a life changing experience:) and the cabbage is probiotic as well as delicious. A great place to make your regular spot! It’s in the commercial section of Sunset Park so the prices are very reasonable and budget friendly.
best salvadorean food in new york city! we always make the trip from staten island to come to enjoy the food. a good place to bring your family
As a Salvadoran it is difficult to find places with authentic and delicious food. Walked in here on a whim and was greeted with a smile. Place was clean. So many food options but had to go for the típico and pupusas and I was not disappointed! Stayed after to talk to the owner and his wife and they were the sweetest people! Would highly recommend! And plan on coming back!
I LOVE their pupusas. They have many different delicious options and the classics are always on point. Tamarind and horchata drinks are the best. The staff is very friendly and make you feel like you’re home. Not too pricey either. My go to place when I’m missing my moms cooking.
I really enjoy eating at Gran Villa the food is great it reminds me of El Salvador when I was growing up,this place makes delicious pupusas, soups are excellent especially the beef and vegetables soup. My family like to go there for the variety of food. You also get the best customer service, staff is excellent.
EL SALVADOR 🇸🇻 Eat the World NYC review: Sometimes a human being just needs a quick pupusa fix. Luckily the place closest to me is very good at making them, and quite a bit of other Salvadoran dishes. A recent return visit also found the hearty soups to be worth exploring, full of chayote and warmth perfect any time of year. ° The restaurant also has a full line of American breakfasts and sandwiches, which brings in a lot of the surrounding blue collar workers that are not yet ready to make the switch to tasty Salvadoran breakfasts and pupusas like many of the families sitting at the tables. ° Oh, and a quick P.S.A.: Don't eat pupusas with a fork and knife you animal!
I ordered a seafood soup which online it says it brings fish and this is legit all it came with. They put sazón packet to give the soup color and that it! It taste like sazón water! Never again. I also ordered Chicharrón de pollo and it was burnt!! Waste of money! Food is disgusting!! Don’t waste your time or money here!! Highly disappointed 🤮
