This delightful family café is a true gem! I recently visited with my daughter, and we had an incredible experience. The arepas were exceptional, and the "cachitos" bread stuffed with Ham was absolutely delicious. The chai latte was the perfect complement to the cozy fall weather. With inviting outdoor seating and a charming book box offering selections for both adults and children, this place stands out. The service was top-notch; the owners took the time to serve the dishes and ensured that all guests felt content. You can also chop merch like T-shirts, coffee and small accessories. Joaquin was friendly, knowledgeable during my checkout, making our visit even more enjoyable. This is definitely a spot worth revisiting! If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this lovely café.
My favorite coffee shop in Sunset Park. Don’t sleep on the condensed milk you can add. That’s an elite maneuver not offered a lot of places. The food and pastries are also fantastic. Love the cachitos.
The vanilla ice latte was really good. This is a wonderful place. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about all his customers. I will be coming back.
liebre café is one of my favorite spots in sunset park. the service is always lovely and warm, lots of yummy eats for snacking, and the coffee is delicious. I love getting a mocha as a treat and they always do a solid cappuccino. :) the avocado toast is always fresh if you want something more filling, but i also enjoy the apple cheddar scones and mochi cookies…and if they have cachitos, you MUST try one! the interior is cozy and great for working or reading and the outdoor seating is so nice especially on a warm sunny day with its beautiful view of the park. I also really appreciate the art they showcase (always a rotating exhibit!) and the pop-ups they have (arepas are my favorite!). thankful for this sweet neighborhood spot!
I recently visited Liebre Cafe in Brooklyn and was thoroughly impressed. The staff greeted me with warmth and friendliness, making the atmosphere inviting right from the start. I ordered a double-shot cappuccino, which was expertly made and delicious — a perfect pick-me-up. But the real highlight of my visit was the 'Cachito,' a ham-filled pastry that stole the show. The ham was savory and of high quality, complemented beautifully by the dough's subtle sweetness. It's a must-try for anyone visiting the cafe. Overall, a delightful experience that left me eager to return.
Really inviting decor. Small and cozy. Perfect for a quick drink and a bite in between your day. Avocado toast was A1
Patricia is one of the owners, and she and her brother (barista and partner) are lovely. Don’t surprise when you visit this ☕️ spot, and you will see that they talk with regular customers like a good friend. The food is delicious. Try the chicken empanada 🥟. It is a juicy and good combination with the chimichurri sauce. Also, I suggest eating Cachitos. It’s a Venezuelan 🇻🇪 traditional bread stuffed with ham, and it’s amazinggggg. What about the coffee? I like the idea they support local coffee producers. So they buy the coffee ☕️ in a Brooklyn factory, and it’s excellent. Nice place to visit and enjoy ✌️ On my, Instagram @ismanud__you can see more places to eat in NYC
Beautiful place, great service and energy, you can feel the owners love since the very moment you step into this place. The Venezuelan cachitos are a MUST, extremely delicious! Also get the mini alfajores 😍 follow them on Instagram, I will definitely keep coming back, the mocha was amazing too💚
What a great little cafe, finally open again! Right on the corner of Sunset Park, it’s the perfect spot to get an early bite or cold brew on a hot day.
Good esspressso, nice welcoming atmosphere as well as neat and tidey. The owner keeps me entertained while i wait for my coffee. The owner is super sweet lady with a heart of gold and a smile that makes me smile. Definitely recommend 👌

From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The staff is always friendly. Trust me, everything I've tried has been fantastic.
Best local coffee shop by sunset park. Small. Have bathroom for customers. But vibe is nice for breakfast in morning. Latte is superior and have alternative milk options . Gem

Delicious coffee, I come by when I’m in the neighborhood :) awesome baristas ☕️
I usually get their latte, and the bean has a very unique and interesting flavor—my favorite so far. The people who run this café are warm and friendly, and I love the small, cozy atmosphere.

This is our favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood. The staff are incredible and kind. The coffee is always good and I usually will snag a fudge brownie if they still have any.
A nice and inexpensive cafe to go grab coffee. I'm not a coffee fan, I expected that there would be fresh juices or lemonades, but unfortunately there is only watermelon fresh lemonade, which is not so much to my taste, but there is a small refrigerator where few types of bottled lemonades and energy drinks, which pleased me.
Best and delicious cappuccino in the area. Excellent service 🤎✨☕️🇻🇪

I had a lot of time on my hands so I decided to make the trek here one morning. I was greeted warmly on entering. I don’t think they have AC because it was quite warm inside. Their pastry case was a little sparse, and several of them are meat based, so opted for the spinach empanada. The empanada was warmed up as I was eating it to stay and came out first. It was several minutes before my iced latte came out, even though there was no one being served before me. The iced latte was good, however, the empanada dough was slightly raw around the filling and the whole thing was a little bit flavorless. I wasn’t offered a sauce, like other reviewers had shown. My total came out to be $13.88, which is quite high.

I called ahead 3 times because I wanted to know if they were out of a pastry I wanted before I walked all the way over there and each time no one answered the phone. Finally I decided I would just roll the dice on wasting my time because no one would answer. I got there and the owner was speaking in Portuguese to a table of people. I thought maybe they were having some sort of meeting and that’s why no one answered the phone. I waited. And waited. And waited. The owner did not excuse himself to wait on a customer because he was busy chatting with what I now realized were other customers. Finally another employee appeared after like 3 minutes of me awkwardly glancing around. I confirmed with this other employee that they were out of the pastry I wanted and I asked when they ran out and they said it was right before I arrived 😑 I asked if their phone doesn’t work (genuinely curious) but no, it works, they were just “really busy.” I doubt this review will make any difference as there are basically 2 coffee shops in sunset park to choose from— Yafa or Liebre. So they basically have a monopoly and therefore can do whatever they want because there is no competition. Since I can’t find a place to reply, I’ll say here my apologies about the language confusion, and also I wouldn’t call grocery stores with moldy fruit that smell like cat urine and establishments offering burnt watery coffee “wonderful” diversity but I see your point. This is NYC, all 5 boroughs are diverse and it’s why I live here, so you don’t get a merit badge simply for diversity, diversity doesn’t trump cleanliness and quality. Bay Ridge is diverse but also cleaner and better quality. It just seems many of these places don’t take pride in their business the way you guys do. If you know any other places that have good coffee, I’d love to know them. Also having a long conversation with customers who have already been waited on while another customer waits at the counter has nothing to with long weekend lines. There was literally no one else there when I got there. I can appreciate a casual family atmosphere but when I have coffee with my family, I don’t pay for it. I see the review before mine also complained about the long wait.

Adding this second review because I gave this place a second chance, this time I was even more disappointed. I ordered a ham filled pastry (empanada). It was totally sweet like a desert. The bread was covered with sweet glaze and the ham inside was very sweet, nothing like empanada.
