Excuse me. Where has M Shanghai been my entire life? This establishment serves some of the best high quality Chinese food in the city. Not only is the food phenomenal, but the ambience and service are second to none. In addition, the bar is also very welcoming. Finally, the staff is very friendly and happy to chat it up with the customers. BONUS - their playlist was up my alley! A mix of 80s new wave and 90s hits. Pro-tip - can't go wrong with their spicy crispy kung pao chicken, scallion pancakes, and soup dumplings!

I had been coming here since 2013 and my husband longer than that! We never lived in Brooklyn but we come here from Manhattan at least once a month. Their soup dumplings, awesome beef and noodles are from a different planet. The staff is extremely friendly, and nice! Thanks you for serving us with this amazing food for so many years!

Best Soup Dumplings in the city. Their soup dumblings wont break when you pick them up with your chopsticks.

It’s a good Chinese restaurant if you’re craving some dumplings or noodles. The food is fairly decent but nothing amazing. They have a good selection of some traditional dishes but the naming convention can be a tad confusing for some items. I do highly recommend the wontons and the pepper steak if you’re here.

I had dumplings and wonton soup in cold raining day, so those food made me so warm! This steam dumplings had a logo of meat and good with their sauce! Vegetable wonton soup is simple and healthy taste! They also open late! Great service too!

Still a cool space (if very dark) and a welcome spot on a stretch of Metropolitan that needs decent restaurants. Sad they don't have a liquor license anymore. Sadder that they add credit card surcharges to the bill whether or not you are paying cash.

Something changed during/after covid...I have been going to this restraunt for years and after not having been back since around that time I expected it to be of the same caluber. The food used to be authentic and what I considered to be some of the best soup dumplings in the city. The soup dumplings are still great but that's all I would stick to at this point. Everyhthing else has turned into overpriced standard chinese food fare - I ordered takeout and it was great my food was delivered hot. I can't speak to the atmosphere or service.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. do not go. My fiancé and I waited for hours for our meal and it was wrong! After we sat on top of the table next to us. The waitress has an attitude problem.

This place has pretty decent reviews so I was expecting pretty decent food unfortunately that wasn’t the case. They literally sent me tortillas as scallion pancakes (pictured cause my mind was blown🤯) the crispy duck wasn’t good and the portion was small. The soup dumplings were meh, the only okay thing was the fried rice. I will not be ordering again and you should save your money!
