I’ve been coming to this restaurant for quite some time now, and it continues to exceed my expectations every single visit. The service is always warm and welcoming, and everyone who works here is truly lovely. The food is consistently delicious and incredibly fresh you can really taste the quality. The owner clearly hires the best people. I’ve always had such friendly interactions with the staff, and they make you feel genuinely at home. Belkyis, Stephanie and Jhulie are amazing, vibrant and humble women! I’ve even witnessed moments where customers were completely disrespectful, and the staff responded with nothing but professionalism and kindness. That speaks volumes about their character and people skills especially in this kind of environment. As someone who used to work in the food industry, I understand how challenging it can be to work with the public, and I truly commend this team for how they handle themselves. They go above and beyond. I would absolutely give this place more than five stars if I could. I do miss when they were open for dinner because their dinner menu was amazing, but everything they currently offer is fantastic from the smoothies to the açaí bowls, and especially the Brazilian cheese bread. It’s all a must-try. Highly, highly recommend!
I'm grateful that I gave this place a try. I was happily wrong about my expectations. The staff provided good customer care. We enjoyed the total package their dishes provide. The place has a distinctive style!
by far a go to place for me so many options and lovely food, also enjoy the fact that they aren’t too fussy about substitutions .. been going here since before they took over the space on the right, the quality has remained consistent i’m obsessed with the food 10/10 it’s not even a question KEEEP UP DA GOOD WERKKK ! thanks always for a fab experience
Excellent brunch at this popular, healthy-but-yummy hipster oasis. Kind service throughout from all. Tasty veggie burger and salad. Fine bar and atmosphere. Great cafe attached off dining area. Welcoming vibes for all. A case study for observing a Bushwick class in its own inhabit. Latin infused flavors. Bright natural light. Great drink options. Outside seating if the weather agrees.
I think we found our new favorite brunch restaurant in NYC. Such a delicious, clean meal with super fresh ingredients. We loved the restaurant space, perfect for a brunch or dinner date. Everything was made to order, easy to see why this was recommended by RESY under their “Best of Brunch” and Best of Brooklyn” lists. We absolutely loved: 🥥 Coconut Love Smoothie 🥚 Poached Eggs on Toast 🍗 Chicken Sandwich and toasted focaccia 🍌 French toast with caramelized banana 🫘 Breakfast Burrito
I’ve gone to Pitanga consistently for YEARS! They have an incredible staff and all of the food and drinks for every meal are PERFECTION made from fresh ingredients and are absolutely delicious! I highly recommend their coffee, pao de quiejo (Brazilian cheese bread), and their acai bowls are the best I’ve ever had. The yuca fries and dipping sauce are also insane! Love. You MUST try for yourself!
Already long-established as a standby for hearty and wholesome breakfast and lunch fare, now Pitanga brings the same philosophy into the dinner space. Their comforting classics, updated traditional dishes (the moqueca will not soon leave my mind), and vegan friendliness will leave you feeling both treated and nourished!
I was happily surprised to learn Pitanga now serves dinner. Since I was a fan of there breakfast, I tried it out. Pitanga's dinner is a great mix of Brazilian favorites and American fare. There are both vegan and meat options to choose from. Each item I tried was super flavourful. I also loved their drinks &dessert.
I had a fantastic experience at Pitanga! Their vegan Caesar salad and açaí bowl were both delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I appreciate their commitment to offering vegan options. I'll definitely be back for more tasty treats!
Pitanga NEVER misses. They are easily one of Brooklyn’s top healthy cafes. I’ve dined in and also ordered delivery. Both were flawlessly executed with delicious food. The açaí bowl is the perfect size, perfect temperature and perfect ingredients and toppings. The flavor is exactly what you would want in an açaí bowl. Sweet enough but not overpowering. Their cafe drinks are also delicious and perfectly made. The staff does a great time getting the drinks out quick and efficiently. The smoothie (the berries one) is so delicious and fresh. I feel healthier as I’m drinking it! This spot is 10/10 in every area. I’m excited to be a frequent customer of Pitanga! Ps. Look at hot perfect the delivery is… have you ever received drinks that haven’t leaked at all??? Amazing!!
In Brooklyn for the weekend with a friend who lived in the neighborhood a couple years ago. This place feels like home. This spot was so cute, food was incredible and the service was friendly and top notch. They had gluten free options like the Banana Bread which was also Vegan. This place is a dream. Hope to be back soon. ❤️✨
I really love the old setup and the food from the last time I visited in March. Acai was a letdown, not like I had it last time; the base was not consistent, a bit liquefied like it was blended. It is still one of my favorites for the area whenever I visit. We shall see next time.
Went here for breakfast with a friend and really enjoyed the food—especially the yuca fries, which were my favorite! The place has a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes it great for a casual bite. I’d definitely come back for the food alone. That said, the service was just okay. It felt a bit off having to pay and tip at the time of ordering, especially without knowing what kind of service to expect. Nothing about the service stood out, but it wasn’t bad either—just not particularly memorable. Overall, I’d return for the food and the ambiance more than anything else.
I don’t often opt for vegan fair mostly because I never tend to feel satisfied after a meal so it took me awhile to give Pitanga a try. Eventually though you run out of new breakfast spots and one must succumb to Pitanga. Overall this space is very large and welcoming for what is common in the area and I was very impressed with the layout of both the cafe and restaurant. The service was good and attentive and everyone seemed to be enjoying the space allotted by restaurant. As a carnivore you won’t find much you’ll to get excited about on the menu but I’m sure you can find something to get outside of your norm. Overall the food was pretty good I do think the portion sizes were a bit small for the price though.
We had the opportunity to grab late brunch here and were pleasantly surprised with our entire experience. We hadn't made a reservation but were able to be seated immediately. We looked over the menu and decided to share an order of yuca fries which I had never had before. These are some extremely tasty fried fries that are served with a delicious dipping sauce. I decided to go with the breakfast burrito for my main dish and was also decently filled up given that this was a very well filled burrito. The space itself is very modern and sleek - giving off the vibes of an art gallery that was transformed into a restaurant. They also have a cafe space adjacent to the restaurant as well. A great place to visit for brunch with friends.
I’ve been a customer at Pitanga for five years now, and it’s always been one of my favorite spots for breakfast. My go-to order is a smoothie, breakfast burrito, and pao de quiejo. I’ve brought friends and family here over the years. The food is consistently great and it’s been a place I’ve loved supporting. That said, I’ve really noticed how much the prices have climbed. My most recent visit came out to over $50 for a breakfast of one. A few years back, that same meal was closer to $30, which already felt pricey. Pão de queijo is now $9 each! It just feels out of step with the spirit of pão de queijo, which is usually an everyday snack. I’ve actually started making my own at home and for the same $9, I can buy the ingredients for an entire batch. I’d happily be here every week if the prices were more reasonable. But as much as I love the food, I’m honestly not sure if I should come back. I get that New York is expensive, but the prices here have become so high.
I love the food here simply bc it is Brazilian but the customer service has made me leave several times. The only reason I come back is for the food it’s unfortunate that there isn’t any welcoming faces or words nor friendly service. Belkys was extremely sarcastic and rude on my recent visits of which if it wasn’t for the other waitress who served me which also was indifferent I wouldn’t have tipped at all.
As a Brazilian, I can say that this place is a rip-off. The food is indeed fresh (at least that), but it's very bland and the wait time is far too long. It's also far too expensive for what it offers; a sandwich with regular bread and a regular egg for almost 20 dollars could at least be made with better quality bread, but it's anything you'd find at a cheap Brooklyn supermarket. The "pão-de-queijo" (cheese bread) is decent, and so is the açaí. I would only go back there for that.
I have been wanting to go here several times cause it looks beautiful from outside and pretty busy, but honestly the food experience was mediocre and even lame. When you go to a place and you order “the house breakfast” you expect to get the best of the house. I ordered the “Brazilian Breakfast” (I’ve been to Brazil more than ten times), well the Brazilian breakfast at Pitanga is a tiny metal pan, with a base of 6 spoons of a tasteless beans, that seems to have been taken straight from the can, some chopped tomatoes and onion of top (two spoons) a couple pieces of avocado floating there And with 1 single baked (dry) egg on top. A side of a (half piece!) of cheese bread comes on the side to make this a little sadder. We also make order a side of Yuca fries (that was not real yuca but a processed paste of yuca - McDonald’s quality ) The service and the space were good overall. They just need to improve the level of the food that was VERY far from being Brazilian or even standard quality at least.
The food here is genuinely excellent — I truly enjoy it every time. However, the service timing is completely unacceptable. Waiting 30 to 45 minutes for something as simple as oatmeal is unreasonable by any standard. The bigger issue, though, is delivery. If you order delivery, expect to wait anywhere from one to two hours. That is not an exaggeration. Blaming Uber or a third-party service is not a valid excuse — the restaurant chooses to partner with that service, and managing that relationship is their responsibility. If the current system is not working, then it needs to be fixed or replaced. Hire dedicated drivers if necessary. It’s extremely disappointing because this is a great place with serious potential, but the service experience is undermining the quality of the food.
