Food is pretty good. And the ladies that work there are always courteous..
Hey, The Best, food is ready by 10am. Fresh and Tasty. Great Value, also.
Love the food here. My spanish isnt too great so communication is a little rough.
Chicharon de pollo was delicious. Rice was good, but the beans had black pepper and they weren't good.
Really great place to go in and eat or have delivered food. Store says Puerto Rico but the cook is Dominican and I honestly don't care, Good food is good food which they do serve.
There food was great super fresh and the staff was really nice this will be my to go place for Puerto Rican food.😁👌💕
I just love this spot.Been coming here since last year. They have all the spanish food you could think of..yellow rice, steak, chicken, fish, pasteles, pastillitos, papa de rellas,...And my favorite Pigs feet..Yup...oh PLEASE TRY THE RIBS HERE...YES PLEASE YUMMMMY!
Not bad at all the food could be much hotter it was warm very tasty
Great food and plenty of it reasonable price. Go there all the time for lunch.
The staff is extremely friendly and the food is amazing. This is not the place you go for aesthetic reasons, its a place you go for great food
Really delicious food and good sized portions. Very clean, fast and courteous service.
This location has been renovated like brand new very nice . constable .good and fast service
Home cooked buffet style food like abuela’s. Generous portions, reasonably priced, nice selection, great staff.
Food was very good I had carne frita and chicharon with sweet plantains and it was delicious
Food service was great . There rice and peas taste just like my moms.
Good food, large selection of food. Most of the hostess are courteous. I visit a numerous times.
Very good food. The mofongo just need a little more garlic but overall the foo was good.
good food decent prices nice selection
Food was great! Big serving of rice and very tasty meat.
It's a really good place to eat and be with family also they have a variety of delicious food
The best puertorican food hands down and my favorite chicharrón
Amazing place great Spanish food I just wish they had a menu that they could give out to people.
The wife and I enjoyed some rice and beans with beef stew and mofongo con chicharon. The food was very good. I also had passion fruit juice which was also very good. The place is clean and comfortable. I would definitely go again if I'm in the area.
There is a sense of consideration when you first enter. And there is a good atmosphere here that will make enjoying your eating. The friendliness and the food go good together. Thanks Girl's I really enjoyed your in house restaurant hospitality. I'll see you soon.
Absolutely delicious food & nice selection as well. You cannot beat the service nor the price you pay for a full dinner that feeds two people !! The ladies are beyond wonderful, they all greet you with huge smiles & treat you as of you're a family member coming to dinner !! Love that old school family feel !!
Food was delicious and tasty. Everything we ordered was perfect. Typical Spanish dishes made with authentic flavor. Great traditional spot.
Excellent!!! Your greeted once you walk in..The food was amazing. Everything was season really well and they cater to you in there. Whenever I'm in the area I stop there
Had the rotisserie chicken and beef stew. The food was extremely fresh and very tasty. The lady that served us was very welcoming. Great food and a great price!
Lovely place. Lots of food selections to choose from. And they are very clean. Especially the bathroom. I hate eating at a location where the bathrooms are always a mess. Not here they are very respectful to their customers.
What can I say? It’s awesome. Such homey food that really hits the spot. My dad always says it reminds me of the stuff his mom made as a kid, so if it can satisfy an old Puerto Rican guy it can satisfy you. Prices are awesome, you really should avail yourself of the daily specials. The fish meals are also excellent albeit at a premium. I love it. Go.
The Puerto Rico hits every mark that matters to diners. This spot handles evening meals well. The restaurant satisfies every customer need. All the meals had excellent taste. This spot has a unique personality.
Amazing culinary vision that creates a cohesive menu. The flavors here are exceptional and the staff is accommodating. The crew demonstrates knowledge. Personnel provide unmatched attention. The staff shows skill, the restaurant maintains cleanliness and I plan to visit again.
Took way too long to share my experience here. The restaurant deserves every compliment. Good meals with fair costs sums up this place. The staff attention is remarkable. This spot delivers total satisfaction.
The whole setup here feels innovative yet comfortable. The mood is good, everything's clean, and the design isn't complicated. The team stands out; providing warm welcomes and meeting all needs pleasantly. The menu reflects a commitment to taste and freshness. The ultimate dining experience.
The food delivers through quality ingredients. The interior avoids looking like every other place. Their menu features flavorful options with generous servings. Workers attended to me promptly and answered my questions with courtesy and interest. A genuinely impressive experience!
Absolutely amazing! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was perfect, inviting, elegant, and cozy. Every dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor. You can tell the chefs put their heart into every plate. The ingredients were fresh, the portions generous, and the drinks were just as impressive. This place is a gem I’d give it 10 stars if I could! Highly recommend to anyone who loves great Hispanic food and an unforgettable hospitality experience. Can’t wait to come back!
Delicious Carribean flavors and scents welcome you the moment u set foot in this local sunset park gem. As with most Latin cuisine, the menu is packed with meats, stews and soups and rice dishes.. highly recommend the Mondongo Soup (picture below) and the wait staff is friendly (and cute!)
Went yesterday, enticed by the assortment of meat in the showcase window. There was plenty to choose from, chicken, beef, pork and numerous sides. Pics below. I had some oxtails w arroz con gandules, (rice and peas) My plate was pretty large, with 4-5 oxtail pieces and a huge serving of rice and peas w a couple of plantains for $12. The oxtails were well seasoned. The star for me was the rice and peas. I was instantly transported back to Grandma's tiny apartment in the Bronx where we piled in every Sunday after church, eating from TV trays. Def going to get some again to share w my dad, so he can cosign on this being close to his mom's cooking. With so many menu options to choose from I will be back. Take out or eat in. Pleasant staff, clean environment.
Dood was great, and the waitress were very kind.
Good ol' fashioned spanish food. Reminded my of my grandma's cooking. May she R.I.P
the amount of food plated is well worth the price point. everything was seasoned well
The food is great. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the portions could be bigger.
Not bad at all. The service was excellent but it could be because i spoke in spanish. The pernil was tasteless which is why i took a star off
The food was delicious this was my second time visiting Puerto Rico restaurant the service was wonderful to staff was amazing and the women are so beautiful
Food alright. Well, what I bought, the rice and peagon peas, and fried fish. Fish was blend, not well seasoned. Rice also was a little blend.
Came here with my brother in law, he invited us. You walk in and are taken aback by the looks of it all. But don't judge a book by its cover. The food was great, the portions were huge. And let's leave the best for last, the prices were amazing.
I went there looking for morcilla (blood pudding sausage), was very disappointed with them not having any. Still, I was amazed with their vast selection of foods. They literally had everything else. Since I was mainly looking for just morcilla I still decided to get the pigs feet (which was tasty but, not as soft as I prefer) & some flan (which was very good). The service was also very good. I will definitely be back for a sit-down meal when the pandemic is over.
Hi my people, hope you all are bless today and always. I am visiting my parents here in Brooklyn NY and since I use to live here , I knew to come to 5th Ave. in Brooklyn to get some Puerto Rican food and Yes I did 😃❤. My wife and I were shopping around and we passed by this restaurant and the beautiful, inviting aroma hit me from outside. I knew I was going in 😋😄. We went in ordered food even for my parents...couldnt wait to get home to eat and as I expected.. AWESOME FOODS. We had 2 yellow rice with pork shoulder and beans, 1 white rice with spaghetti and shrimp and, 1 yellow rice and chicken. Let's just say, happy plates all around ( All plates finished). Thank you guys for not disappointing....ALL GOOD.❤❤❤
I had the mangu from here and it was bussin 😋. I think the pernil could have more flavor to it. And the yuca is so good.
Mofongo is pretty good and the main dishes are good. The service could be better but than again it's not made to be a sit down restaurant, but I say why not? It could be a better organized place but the food is pretty spot on for isla de encarta food.
First time here and i can say I will always come back. The food was delicious, the portions were just right and the prices are very reasonable.
I ate roasted salmon with rice and beans and so delicious and also I combined it with a very cold tamarind jarrito soda.. wow amazing.
Very decent place with a great variety of food. Chicken soup is one of the best in Brooklyn. Prices are very reasonable and they give you a lot of food for your money.
The food here tastes good. I got the 10 dollar chicken teriyaki plate with Maduro and potato. The Maduro was perfect and sweet melts when you eat it. The potatoes were cooked very good very delicious and the chicken teriyaki with vegetables was very good just a bit boney. Overall I highly recommend this place. The plate i got was fully loaded packed and delicious. Puerto Rico is a good restaurant.
The good is good. But I don't recommend the chicharrones. It's not cooked all the way through. And it automatically sends you to the bathroom.
They used to give a big portion. The beef stew was okay. The cooking gotten worse; for the carne guisada.
Food was fresh and tasty, the service was okay. They gotta do something about that flan.
I’ve had varying experiences here. Overcharging is an issue with most places these days. Over oiling too. More of a healthy variety would be great.
I used to love their food but recently they went down the hill.. the most unacceptable thing is they charging whatever they want . I remember ordered the same thing but different price . All they tell you will be that piece of meat different size . Small portion .
Yellow rice today was terrible, hard and chewy. Penil was also overdone. The sweet platanos were a bit sour (tasted old), usually those are good here so I don’t know. Soups were good. Not that good for the price, but has been better on other days, I come all the way here for their pork, today was definitely an off day.
The alcuppurria tasted like they used wheat flour instead of the masa with green banana and other root vegetables but the stuffed potatoes ball was good. It was a bit greasy tasting but all the other food was delicious.
The food it's not bad, but the service don't. They need to organize themselves better, and the people they serve have a bad attitude.
The food is very good. However, the staff is incredibly rude.
Service was ok but the dough with the chicken inside was too doughy and thich with a little bit of chicken & the chicken with lemon was good though .
The food is very expensive over $20 for one plate
When w partner, I had Pork Ribs, Rice and Gandules and an Alcapuria. The other had Beef Stew over White Rice. As a PR, I did NOT find the food to be authentically PR flavored, sorry. In fact it was kind of bland. Portion was ok, but total came out to about $38 w 1 water and 1 soda. This is not a fancy place and I think over priced for "meh" food. I won't go back.
This place cooks horribly! FOOD too salty and the Puerto Rico name should be removed. Sorry Boricuas don't cook like that! Change the cooks maybe the taste buds are gone but the foodeither too salty or no flavor at all.
Used to love coming here. Recently the quality is not the same. Very disappointed, I hope it was just this instance because the food was great at one point.
Two bad experiences at this place. Poor customer atention skills, if you order to go watch out what they serve you, they’ll give you burned old leftover food.
Last time I went to order , she didn’t understand English 🙄, and she left to ask another coworker to translate but took over 10min waiting, I rather order somewhere instead, loss customer
Be careful me. And my family ate here yesterday and caught food poisoning me my sister and mother in excruciating pain since the night
Food was horrible, chicken was not cooked and dry.
I did not like the flavor of the food. It was salty. Don't think I will need going back any time soon...
Just No. Not Puerto Rican food at all go somewhere else 🤢🤮
First off, I’m Puerto Rican from Sunset Park & I was eager to try this place out. We used to come here when it was the pizzeria for many years. The new establishment is cleaner than the Cuchifrito on 46 or 47 street. The food was ok, not Puerto Rican style at all which is false advertising. Our food does not taste bland or dry. The ladies were eager to make a sale from us but did not explain to us females that if we sit in the restaurant it’s more money vs if we take the food to go. We found out after we sat down & men were coming in and they explained this to them. Please do not advertise Puerto Rican food when it’s not.
This is NOT a Puerto Rican restaurant, I order a alcapuria no taste at all plus was not cook inside, the relleno de papa, no taste either puerto rican don't make relleno de papa like that, the mofongo no taste, for sure am not coming back
I purchased food after the Puerto Rican Parade last Sunday, the food look great I purchase $55 in Ribs and Pork Chops, it was the worse food I have ever had not only was the food bad the meat was at the point of been spoiled everyone who eat got sick from the food. I contacted the Manager she offer to replace the food I declined that's how bad the food is at this place I would never buy at this dump food again.
There was one lady behind the counter with a burgundy shirt, this lady was extremely rude and was kinda like rushing us out. I tried asking for a plate for my daughter and she kept giving me different plates instead of the one I was asking for. I’m not sure why this lady was acting so petty but she should be fired before they start losing business.💯💯
This is the most definitely hateful server ever she's a hateful person and the chef or what ever he is always looking thru the damn opener from the kitchen don't recommend this place they put a price when u go and pay is more then what u see ridiculous
The service is terrible, the servers are rude and they get your order wrong every time. I ordered a whole chicken combo which came with rice and beans. They did not put the beans in the bag. When I called back to tell them there was no beans, they called me a liar and said there is nothing they can do.
This is not a Puerto Rican Restaurant, people from South America and Dominicans, does not even comes close to real Puerto food. Didn't even notice the name. I think at the time I ate, I was the only Puerto Rican there. Sad to say , Puerto Rican Restaurant are hard to find. I have yet to find one. Last time I ate Puerto food was last July when I was in Puerto Rico, I'm not saying this because I'm Puerto Rican, once you eat Puerto Rican food you never forget the flavor.
Food is horrible and over priced dont recommend if your not try to get sick worst service and they dont pay attention to your order
I placed an order on seamless and the order was completely wrong and after calling 6 times they finally answered and they offered no logical explanation. The food was mediocre and the customer service horrible.
Food ok customer service terrible price ridiculous not worth the price I go somewhere els
The worse alcapurria’s I ever had. I’m Puerto Rican and these alcapurria’s were a complete turn off. They shouldn’t have it on the menu at all!
Was excited to finally eat here. Got 4 accapurias and they were horrible. I also got a sweet plantain. Looked amazing but b Not fully cooked. Never cheating on La Isla on 49th and 5th again.
Diseña is unprofessional and rude , I ordered a Mofongo take out , they said it will take ten minutes so I step out , when I come back to restaurant the mofongo was not ready , I need to pay first then I can have the mofongo they should said that in the first place and won’t come back to the restaurant they lost a good customer for many years ,I will give them 0 star. What can of mofongo they made they cook how ever they wanted.
The Alcapurrias were over cooked and very dry and did not taste good at all took one bite and had to throw it out the rice was good the beans on the other hand very watery and had no flavor the chicharrones we're very greasy to the point where I had at least a teaspoon of grease on the bottom of the pan I'm Puerto Rican myself and this is not Puerto Rican food
I'm not sure what they used for making the Alcapurias, but it sure wasn't Puerto Rican style! It wasn't masa that I ate! Was hard as h ell and flavorless! I'm not sure what kind of meat this was which was less than a teaspoon of it! The pictures attached shows how much I ate just to try this Mystery meat! I didn't taste the Adobo and there definitely wasn't any Sofrito used! I couldn't finish it. I'm 💯 % sure there couldn't possibly be any Puerto ricans cooking at this establishment!!! I feel very disrespected as a Puerto Rican and very disappointed! I should have known something was wrong when the place was empty. Y'all gotta do better or drop the name! If I could return these alleged "Alcapurias" I would! I will not be returning. You can't get me twice! 🇵🇷 Nunca más me volverás cojer como una tonta!
So I saw the high ratings for this place and wanted to give it a try. The food and the service were both horrible. The lady didn’t understand English that well and gave me more than what I wanted. She was rude to begin with. I asked her for the price before I got my food and she wouldn’t tell me. This meal right here costed me 21 bucks and I could hardly eat it. The only thing that was ok was the rice.
