I love Rakuzen… a top 5 in nyc for me somewhat due to nostalgia. i especially love the pad thai here it’s my favorite and of course all rolls and apps are tasty. wish i had a bigger stomach but rakuzen is my favorite sushi ayce spot
This has become our family’s favorite place to go as a family together treat night out! The sushi is always tasty, great choices and quick service.
Me and my girlfriend decide to go here one afternoon, absolutely loved this place! Even though we didn't finish our food 😅. The staff was friendly the food was AMAZING, and it's definitely one of our #1 spots to revisit. The problem was we both went early in the morning and had both had a pretty big breakfast and then we ordered like 60 pieces of sushi. Because it is an 'all you can eat' place we did pay extra for not finishing but it was entirely worth it.
The quality of the fish is not the best all the time but it’s good for the money. Plenty of tasty appetizers to try. They give good fish when you get the sashimi appetizer, which is limited to one per person. Come here often and leave happy most of the time. Definitely happy with the service.
They were polite when we walked in and we were seated immediately. The servers are very attentive. The price is fantastic for all you can eat. We opted for the sashimi & sushi price of $40. We def got our $ worth. I highly recommend the golden mango special roll. I'm sure all the rolls are good but that one stood out to me the most. We will def go back now that we live about 10 mins away.
This place is clean and the food is hot and delicious .The server are fast and they are welcoming!
Great food for the price! Not only the 🍣, they have some nice kitchen food too!
I have to admit for an all you can eat place, the turnaround is vary fast The food feels very fresh and tastes fresh. Take quick to take your finish plates away. So you're not stuck with a bunch of plates on your table. Only thing I have to say when you place your order. And they feel you placed a big order. They won't give you everything you ask for which, to be honest with you is a good thing. Since if you don't eat it, you get charged for it. I really do enjoy this place
The food is pretty good and the service is better. Very friendly staff, always smiling. We love this place. They offer an "all you can eat" option. If you like sushi, try this place.
The food, service, and atmosphere were good. I always come here either with my family or friends. Their portions are good. It lets you get a taste of everything in small portions so you don't go wasting food. The service always come every time they see an empty plate on the table, which helps makes more room for other dishes that you order. They did raise their price to $31 per person.
I really enjoy this place, especially they are very family friendly and service is very good. We usually go for the premium one as the sashimi is worth it. They are a stable neighborhood joint and I hope they stay open.
Had great food. They have great service free refills on soda etc. Also food comes out quickly. cheaper 30.99 menu without sashimi and 40.99 sashimi. Overall good deal especially with rising costs. Quality of Fish could be better but overall everything is good to great quality and service fast.
Been here like 100 times, decent quality fish, fast service every time, best place to go if you’re hungry!
Absolutely divine. Everything we had during the all-you-can-eat sushi was fresh, delicious, and perfectly crafted. Not to mention affordable! Would highly recommend the white fish sashimi (melt in your mouth), soups (we had miso and tom yam), and crab rangoons (light and crispy). If you partake, the Ginjo sake was fantastic - refreshing, crisp, and sweet. We had more bottles than I'd like to admit. Servers there are attentive and sweet. Will be returning soon.
It was really delicious. Due to me not having a big appetite that day, I kind of had to pay for the food I didn’t finish. But, everything was delicious and melted in your mouth. I recommend the tako yaki because it was so warm and crunchy and creamy. The shrimp tempura was surprisingly soft inside, not as crunchy as you’d expect shrimp to actually be, but it was still so good. The soup was a bit bland for my taste, but my bf loved it, saying it was perfect. Overall, I 100% recommend going!!! And they also have a lot of varieties of drinks that are called “virgin” meaning non-alcoholic. So you can get a drink that’s meant to have alcohol, without the alcohol 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
Live this place. Great Kani salad. Friendly staff , I’m obsessed with their crazy Kani roll (I think that’s what it’s called). Love their mango mojito so good
This place is amazing! I found it when a coworker of mine recommended it to me as I’ve never been there before. It’s a little bit further from my house so for me I had to drive there or take a nice long walk with a friend. From where I was in Brooklyn one time, I walked an hour to get there and let me tell you; IT WAS VERY WELL WORTH IT. i’m 6 foot three and only 160 pounds so when I get hungry, I’m really hungry. I love their all you could eat sushi. For the price if you can eat a decent amount it’s the freshest sushi I’ve ever had. IM NOT EXAGGERATING. And I’ve had sushi from all over. I even make it myself sometimes so I know how difficult it is. Being 28 years old you can imagine that I pretty much have grown up eating sushi from many different places, including grocery stores and restaurants high and low end. This place makes the best sushi. Period. They make it fast, hot, fried, not fried, squid, fish eggs you name it, THEY HAVE IT. Outstanding place. Be aware that you have to eat all the sushi you order though for the all you can eat. Otherwise you have to pay. I always knew the rule but I have seen one person in the past who didn’t know the rule. Oopsie. This is not a difficult workaround at all however since you can order multiple times while you’re there and they have explained that to me in the past. Overall 5/5. Amazing and you simply can’t beat it. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I came here because Daizen has shut down in favor of an ala carte sushi spot. I'm glad I did. Although the lunch is gone, ayce dinner is still available at all hours. The sushi was really good; a couple choices were very small bites. The miso soup was excellent and the wide variety of rolls was great. I splurged for the tempura ice cream and was glad I did (get the green tea ice cream if you haven't experienced it yet!). Aside from a couple other jerk customers, this was a great trip and I'll definitely be back for more!
Stopped in for lunch and had a great experience at this restaurant. The food appetizers were on point, very well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The staff was super nice and quick to handle everything. The AYCE menu was very good and the portions of protein to rice ratio was perfect which I find is hard to find at an AYCE place. The price was very good considering the amount of food you get. In summation, this is the place to go! Stop in for lunch and leave with a full belly so you can keep your day going. They also have the price breakdown for kids and adults so if you want bring the whole family. Tasty, Perfectly cooked at a great price. Not much more to ask for. Highly recommend!
My family orders from here all the time. We love their lunch special ( I'm especially a fan of their sanma and kalbi boxes. Sanma has bone btw ). We also came here from my brother's birthday and got their AYCE sushi and sashimi options. Everything arrived fresh and quickly. They constantly checked on us and refilled our tea. There is also an option for a Buy One get One 50% off alcohol drinks if you dine in. We got the hot sake. I really appreciated the server telling us to not order so much rolls at once. It saved our butts since I always eat with my eyes and my stomach suffers. This is important because you can't leave any food uneaten if you decide to do the AYCE. It's unpretentious, unassuming and cozy. Wish I took more pictures but we ate so fast since we were hungry.
If you want all you can eat sushi, this is the place to go. The sushi is top notch and fairly priced. You will definitely get your money’s worth. Beers and buy one, get one half price. Its always an amazing experience when I go here. Also, the staff is very attentive
I’m a regular from 2 years already, i moved near by the location but i discovered this gem before i lived this close to it . And since then , it became my fav ayce place in Brooklyn! Good price , excellent quality and fast service. The owner and the waitresses are amazing , really good people and good food ! When i have time i can’t jump my weekly appointment with my fav sushi place.
I had a fantastic experience at this sushi spot! The rolls were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—especially the Fire Dragon Roll, which was crispy and rich without being too heavy. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the menu had a great variety of both classic and creative rolls. Prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back!
My coworker introduced me to this place and it’s a 10/10. The food is delicious and the service is pretty fast. One thing I’ve noticed is that if you order a lot, they won’t bring out everything all at once; it kind of paces you. If you aren’t full, you can just remind them of the dishes they “forgot” to bring out and they will. The first time I went, we had a good amount of food leftover and they only charged us $4, so that was a pleasant surprise. The only qualm I have with the restaurant is that the alcoholic drinks aren’t that good. But honestly, I really can’t fault them; I didn’t see a bar/bartender. Maybe next time I will try some sake. Overall, very delicious restaurant (I’m actually contemplating if I want to go today.)
All you eat lunch and dinner. Lunch menu contain option than dinner. Dinner cost $22.99. I'd recommend making a table reservation During dinner hours, the place gets incredibly packed! It took about 6 minutes after seated for us to get water. Unlimited soda! Thai ice tea wasnt too sweet and not eligible for refills. French fries were crispy, similar to McDonald's. Seaweed salad was fresh Spicy Kani salad was slightly spicy and dry. The spicy kani salad consist of wonton crisp, kani, and I believe cucumber. Order fried rice last, the Indonesian fried rice was amazing and filled me up. They offer fried bananas but NOT ice cream.
Sizeable outdoor dining area with really well spaced tables (the walls are solid but there are open windows and doorways for airflow). The sushi quality was good not great and the size of the menu was very solid for ayce. If you're covid cautious and looking for an outdoor situation, I recommend this spot.
The dinner menu has significantly more options than the lunch (i.e. special roles, uni, ikura, sashimi), and I thought the quality of the food was good for the price. Lunch, on multiple occasions, was a little disappointing however. I wanted to really like it given the lower price, but the quality of everything seems lower at lunch time (including the rice).
I liked it alot and would come back again. I had the $30 AYCE rolls. The simple rolls were great. I had several orders of the yellowtail jalapeño roll and hand roll. The hand roll was nice and full. The rolls are filled nicely and not overstuffed with rice and other fillers. The specialty rolls were ok. I wasn't thrilled with any of them. Service was pretty good. The girls are attentive and service was timely. I wish their menu was more descriptive.
I love sushi. I’m not saying this is the best sushi but it’s pretty good as AYCE sushi restaurant. A lot of selections and they also have sashimi. They also have a wide variety of hot appetizers which I love. Shrimp tempura and the short rib is one of my favorite. Don’t sleep on the mozzarella sticks. It’s a weird combo but pretty good. You mark your order in a paper and just check off what items I want and how many. The servers are very helpful. They fill your water pretty quickly and come often to the table and ask if you want to order more. We ate on a Friday night and we were able to grab a table fairly quickly for four.
Pretty decent place. offer a lot of choices, both salmon and tuna sashimi taste great. we tried every sashimi, all taste fresh and delicious. I won't order the caviar again though. Never had them before, it was good to try it out and find out the smell and taste was too strong for me.
20250719::wow $42.99,still good went a group of people, i did most of the cleanup 20230709::now $30.99, still not bad. my fav is still mackrel,, eel and salmon sushi is still good. the sashimi app per person is pretty good. the veg tempura needs work. 20230125::good for $30. when they first opened, the service was way bad, like 40min for 2nd round. but it looks like they got it together, and its way better. the size of pieces was good. as always, i over ate
The appetizer was decent. Service was quick for some of the appetizers but a few of them were served with the entrees which i personally wasn't a big fan of. The price wasn't that bad for all you can eat but the special rolls could be a little better. Some of the special rolls had a double layer of rice. Sashimi was great.
For all-you-can-eat sushi and sashimi, the quality is very high. Just $31 a person! You will definitely spend that at a regular Japanese restaurant, so you might as well get an assortment of things. I love the spicy Kani salad and shumai for appetizers. the fukomaki roll is the best. The salmon sashimi is thick and delicious. The only thing I wouldn’t order are the yakisoba noodles.
Came here for the AYCE sushi dinner. Currently priced at $29.99 per person for Dinner. The sushi or other dishes came out pretty quickly as they have a ton of staff in the back. The fish all tasted pretty fresh and even the sashimi was included in the AYCE price which is pretty amazing and the cuts are fairly thick 😋 all in all it was a pretty good experience with the staff being very attentive and the atmosphere is chill. You will definitely get your money's worth 👍
I always come here for all you can eat sushi, and it’s amazing. I’ve been a customer here since 2020, and the price has been increasing lately. I remember the price being $23 but now it’s $28. I understand because of the pandemic and everything, but wow still a lot of money. The sushi here is always fresh, and the waitresses are all welcoming. I always order the crab rangoons, salmon sushi, and the yellowtail jalapeño special. It’s amazing. They have a variety of appetizers and rolls. I will always come to this spot, it’s a Brooklyn gem :)
A previous reviewer said "The woman who owns or managers the restaurant is loud and obnoxious! I will never go back." This is so true. This lady, whether manager or owner - i think owner, is loud, rude and just horrible service. So what if a customer have a few piece left over. It is not like your going to lose money. Good service = returning customers. This lady need to tune it down. Anyway, the food IMO is okay. Nothing to rave about. Not a huge sushi fan. I did come to this spot a few times because it is close and because friends requested to come here. The few times I did come, the owner was loud and rude. She had an argument with a friend of mine when we had a gathering of over 20 people, many kids. They spoke Mandarin which I did not understand but it has to do with pricing and kids price. It was crazy. If you come here you can find her right away, loud, rude, and doesn't smile. It seems like her spot is the only one in Brooklyn. I personally won't come here because of the bad service from this lady. Sometimes you pick service over taste of food. You want to feel welcome and be comfortable. The wait staff are nice, friendly and works quickly.
This Rakuzen has quickly delivered sushi & a typical AYCE model. Staff is attentive & drinks come quickly. They bus the tables frequently & give you more than enough options for appetizers, sushi, nigiri, & sashimi. For the price, you can leave full and satisfied. The sushi is a 3/5, & the rolls aren't exceptional, just a collection of the most-ordered rolls in that type of environment. Their beef negimaki, fried shumai, and salmon lover & dragon rolls were the highlights. (***Pics feature salmon lover & dragon rolls (4/5) with fried shumai & their Beef Pad Thai [2/5].) For those on a budget, in a group of 4-6, or anyone dining out on a first or third date, it's a great restaurant choice. I have eaten at the Rakuzen on Queens Blvd & the one here near 65th ST. Similar environments. You won't be dazzled by the creativity of the sushi options & due to it being AYCE, there are no substitutions, however, best sushi for the price. There isn't parking, so be mindful of that when dining.
all day ayce sushi buffet for around 30$ not the freshest tasting but decent quality fish sushi rolls r packed w lots of rice sashimi used to be better quality their yellowtail jalapeño is good w the suace they put on top the crab rangoons is the BEST, filled up so good. free hot tea n good miso soup their ramen is good just eat a lot to get ur money’s worth service is nice and quick good seating space, not cramped
The place feels clean, service is attentive, they just need to smile a bit, great selection with unlimited ikura sushi, 2 uni sushi per person, but don't expect normal size. Certain pieces have more rice than other like, when ordering scallops and mackerel sushi. Some regular roll like salmon and yellowtail are wrapped with rice, seaweed, rice than fish rather than the usual seaweed, rice than fish. The cook food are tasty, love the spicy mussels, shrimp tempura, but the fry oyster have no oyster taste. Fish are generally fresh, uni taste are a bit different, includes free soda.
I had tired a lot of AYCE sushi in Brooklyn and this one was okay. The staff were very nice and didn’t charge extra on the filling of left over rice or sushi because a few raw fish had a spoiled taste to it (like it was a bit sour... and I think they saw me and friend reaction to it badly while eating about 6 sushi).
Sushi fish wasn’t that fresh; salmon and tuna was good and fresh. Scallop and yellowtail were horrible. Unagi was ok but got worse as you ordered. Pretty much every duplicate after your first order will go down in quality and size. Tom Yum soup tasted like sweet ketchup water. Service was great tho
Right away I want to say the service was AMAZING - the water was filled fast without me asking, the extra sheets of menu were given promptly, the orders were coming from the kitchen fast! But I am giving only 2 start because the food lacked flavor and was dull - everything was bland and tasted the same. I am not a picky eater, but I did not see much taste difference between the rolls or appetizers.
Came to this place eager to try the food but was overly disappointed. The Ordering: There's 3 sheets of paper you can use to order from, though they might give you more if they see you're not ordering much. For me, after giving them the third sheet, the manager or owner said "after this you can not order more, your time is up". There's two things that confuses me. No where on the ordering paper states a time limit but I'll let that slide as typical ayce sushi restaurants are two hours but here's the the second thing, I was in there for a hour and fifteen mins! I know the exact time from sending a text message upon being seated. The place was not packed as there were empty tables around me. The Food: The sushi here are bite sized, much smaller than the typical sushi you get at other places. From my first order, they were already missing items and I didn't even order a lot since I was hungry and just wanted some food fast to eat and then decide on the second order. During the second order, I ordered the same items that never came during the first order and a few other new items. Some food items yet again was missing along with the same items from the first order. The final order was where the manager or owner said I couldn't order anymore afterwards. The third order was by far the worst, only two of the five items I selected came. What a shame. Overall: Service was very friendly and attentive. Some doesn't speak much English but that's what the paper ordering is for. Soda was replenished often. Food is good if you receive all that you ordered. If the same manager or owner I spoke about sees you ordering more than six items per sheet, they'll glare at you throughout the whole service.
Okay don’t know where to start but here is where it all went wrong. We place our first small order of 7 rolls and 2 appetizers we waited little over 20 min to get the first plate of appetizers and then another 17 min for our rolls to come. (We had to ask our waiter about our order). But no complaint on the waiting time as it can get busy but it was a bit frustrating when we was missing couple of rolls. Anyways we order the stuff that was missing from the previous order and add on our new order. The wait was another 20 min. And again we are missing some items. We ask the waitress and she takes our orders verbally but we were just giving her a general idea of what we checked off on the list. So she came back with dumplings made of pork which we didn’t order but she said we told her “dumplings” so she thought regular dumplings. Also 2 other items were missing. So at this point we realized our slip weren’t being read at all. At our third attempt we also ordered couple of items and some items came more in quantity than written. And then again our kani salad was missing also our chicken tempura never came from our first, second and third order. It was a mess. But on the bright side the waitress were nice but customer service wasn’t up to bar. Also the food was good. We finally gave up after the 3rd order as we didn’t know if the wait was worth it when most items wouldn’t show up.
The waitress staff is great. The only reason for the star. The food is terrible. Even if it was cheaper the quality is bad. $45 for sashimi and sushi ayce and the sashimi pieces are falling apart.
Why would I pay $35 dollars per person to only get 1 order of sashimi? Keep in mind it’s also not that good. I recommend Sake. It’s a better spot with less choices. Not only that but I got told off multiple times because I didn’t want sushi rice(me a diabetic) after I mentioned less rice. Again, go to Sake.
I’ve been a patron of this restaurant for several years now, and unfortunately the costs have gone up and the quality has gone down tremendously. First thing we noticed was the wasabi and ginger they gave us was extremely dry and stale, it seemed old. We asked for a new one, it was still the same consistency. The appetizers themselves were fine, we ordered seaweed and Kani salad, and crab Rangoon. The crab Rangoon was absolutely delicious. But the sushi was where things went downhill. Whatever they did with the rice that day was awful - nothing short but incredibly mushy and extremely vinegary in taste. Sushi broke apart the moment we picked it up with our chopsticks. I had a hard time finishing the sushi - it was extremely hard to swallow. It was genuinely the worst sushi I’ve eaten in a while and I hate to say this about this restaurant. The rice genuinely took away from everything. For $33 I expected better. The waitresses were nice and hospitable. Service was great, food was not.
There is no Thai Basil Beef!!! I ordered Thai Basil Beef Bento but get a box of broccoli beef without any rolls or shumai.
Customer service was good but quality of food is not good at all. It was not worth 31$ pp plus tax and other fees . The food needs a change. Use to be a regular when price was 25$ pp and the food was worth it. I refuse to go back after today.
What a major disappointment. We are frequent customers who dine. We ordered the all you can eat. The rice was dry Tuna was tasteless Pepper tuna was chewy and tasteless. Kani salad had no cucumbers Salmon was light pink(baby), not orange pink The white fish on the rainbow was grainy and dry. We addressed our issues to both waitresses and they said a manager would come . We waited. Guess what no manager came. The waitresses looked at us as if I was crazy. Seriously. We then went to cashier/manager who dismissed our complaint saying the fish was fresh. Seriously all the fish was tasteless and discolored. She offered 10%, a slap in the face. She then offered 20%. Still not acceptable but whatever. We paid the bill and still gave a 20% tip. I will never go there. I am going to my usual spot.
Really bad food. We all got sick and upset stomach right after we ate. Never again
Staff kept staring at us as if they want us to leave literally full on staring and got so sick after eating the food literally food poisoning that is not sushi grade salmon
The price has gone up way too much in 2024. WE PAID 68 dollars for 2 people. The quality of the food has gone down and its not the same anymore. There is no way we ate that much worth of in food. Will not be coming here anymore. The waiters are up your butt watching you eat ready to take the plate away the second you finish. like give us some personal space. They charge you more 3.5% if you use card which is not allowed in nyc anymore.
The fish was oddly chewy, the next day I woke up with food poisoning. I went a year prior and wanted to see if this restaurant has gotten any better.
Came here with my twins who are 8. Price is 50% less from 5-8 years old. My kids have always been bigger for their age. Waitress asked their age, I said '8, they are twins'. She looked at us funny and 2 minutes later a manager approaches my KIDS, not me, and asked their grade. They said 4th grade. She told them 'you are not 8 then. Impossible.' My son is bigger than my daughter so she then said 'maybe she is 8, but he is not and they cannot be in 4th grade'. I showed her their passports and report cards confirming their age and grade and left. Never going their again.
Not worth it IMO. You pay $30/person but they limit you to 1 order of sashimi per person, and the pieces were THIN. Also the atmosphere was a little uncomfortable. It felt like waitresses were being overly attentive a little monitor-y. We got 4 different sushi rolls, and they were mostly rice and not really anything special. You can get the same quality of food for much less elsewhere.
This place was the worst .food was decent, service was really bad ,Upon placing our order the waitress made a comment a that we were ordering about a 150 pc of sushi implying that itvwas too much. Now mind you we were four people dinning. While we wait for the order the waitress and what seemed to be the manager kept pointing at us and refering to our order.this place is an all you can eat buffet .At the end they harassed my wife to leave a tip of $20 they said it was a service fee . I told my wife not to leave anything. I don't recommend this place to anyone .We will never eat there ever again.
Ordered to tonkatsu ramen and sushi from here. The noodles literally taste like instant noodles, the egg wasn’t boiled it was fried and the pork is made Chinese style. No Japanese style here. The sushi is not great. Should’ve expected it since the price I paid was a lot cheaper and also considering it’s a buffet. Quality of food is not up to par if you’re looking for good ramen. I’ve could’ve made this at home to be honest. You get what you paid for so just a heads up.
Bad service, very small portions and insolent waiters. My husband found hair in sushi and we decided not to leave a tip, but the waitress approached us and began pointing with a finger that we should leave a tip. I said that we did not like the service, but she did not leave until we left all 17 $ tips.We did not ate at all, only had a bite and spoiled our mood.
As I sat my self down into the lovely establishment I parked my tuckus down on a fine seat, i placed my order of the finest fish platter. As I awaited my order the chef was scurrying around the restaurant floors on all fives as his third leg was dragging roughly on the stained floor. As my food arrived i tucked into this mighty feast, as i picked up my chopsticks and am about to place sushi in my mouth the sticks snapped and met their demise to the floor. But this sushi was different when in my mouth it burnt harshly and i felt movement and that's when i came to the conclusion John Pork had got up to some troublesome activities with my fish.
This service is horrible. Me and my aunt went to went to eat here because we would get takeout and the food was delicious. When we dined at the start everything was going good but at the end when I left $35 dollars on a $32 dollar tab; because we didn’t like the service and they came grabbing our plates as soon as we finished, she came back with the $3 and asked for the tip. I told her this was the tip and she said “That’s it?” We the walked out because I said I didn’t have any more money. Usually I tip way more but we were only there for 20 minutes because it was like they were rushing us out of there. Just get Togo and don’t tip.
Horrible, got extremely sick after eating and I mean EXTREMELY SICK. My friends that also came with me also threw up right after, not because we ate too much, but because the quality of the fish was suspicious. The waiters keep on eyeing us down and urging us to leave while giving us attitude. Overall, 0/10 experience
Have visited here a couple of times in the past and each time it was just ok. This most recent visit was the worst out of all of my experiences. Although reasonably priced for an AYCE spot, it comes at the cost of low quality food and service. Almost immediately after concluding the meal, my mother and I both got severe stomach aches and had to rush to the restroom. We could tell as we were eating that the fish was not as fresh as other sushi restaurants we’ve been. If you had to choose to suffer from a stomach ache after a meal, the last place you’d want it to be is a sushi restaurant. The service was good however we also felt rushed to order and the servers watched us like hawks during the whole meal to make sure that we weren’t sharing between the sashimi and sushi AYCE menu items. The bill came out to almost $200 for 3 people and they charged us $10 extra for a roll that was leftover. We were aware that any leftovers would be charged but $10 for less than 10 pieces of sushi seems a bit excessive. It’s quite disappointing because there are not many AYCE sushi spots (of quality) in the area and we have frequented this location in the past without anything alarming happening to prevent us from returning. But after this unfortunate experience we cannot, in good conscience, patronize the establishment again.
I've been coming to this restaurant since it first opened, and at the beginning, the food was amazing. The portion sizes were generous but well-balanced, the service was fast, and the quality of the ingredients—especially the fish—was top-notch. It used to be one of my go-to sushi spots because of how fresh everything tasted and how well-crafted the sushi was in terms of fish-to-rice ratio. However, over time, things have declined significantly. I’m not sure if it’s due to COVID, a management change, or new sushi chefs, but the quality has taken a noticeable downturn. When I visited recently, I was shocked by the amount of rice they now serve with each piece of sushi. It felt like they were padding the rolls and nigiri with excessive rice to make up for using less fish or meat. It wasn’t just a small difference—it was to the point where each bite felt unbalanced and unappetizing. One of the biggest disappointments was the scallop nigiri. I remember when they used to serve a whole scallop per piece, which was flavorful and had a nice, delicate texture. Now, they give you only about 1/4 of a scallop, but they double the amount of rice underneath. It’s a clear downgrade, and it makes the dish feel like a filler rather than a well-crafted sushi piece. To make matters worse, if you don’t eat all of the rice, they charge you extra per piece. This policy feels unreasonable, especially when they are clearly overloading the sushi with rice instead of properly portioning it. Another frustrating thing I noticed is that when you order one appetizer, they give you a massive portion meant for 6 people to fill you up before you can even get to the sashimi or higher-quality food. For example, I ordered one kani salad, but they brought out six platefuls of it, making it obvious that they were trying to stuff customers with cheap fillers. And just like with the rice, if you don’t finish it, they charge you extra. It really feels like they are prioritizing saving costs over providing a good dining experience. While I will say that the service remains good, that alone isn’t enough to justify coming here anymore. The food quality has dropped to the point where it’s just not worth the price. And I’m clearly not the only one who feels this way—the restaurant used to be packed every day, but now it’s often nearly empty, with only one or two tables occupied. That’s a huge red flag that regular customers have noticed the decline and have stopped coming. At this point, for what they charge, you’re better off going to a regular buffet—you’ll likely get better sushi there for the same or even a lower price. It’s disappointing to see how much this place has changed, but unless they fix their portioning and return to their original quality, I can’t recommend it anymore.
First of all the food was terrible, even dogs wouldn’t eat it. Half of the plates were broken. The French fries were full of oil like they brought the kitchen to us. The waiter was looking at as as we eat all the time and constantly came and grabbed plates to take away, and when some plates were half full they would complain because we didn’t finish, and when we told them it wasn’t good they walked away. At the end after paying they asked for a tip like it was demanded, and when we told them about the food they said it was our problem. It is really bad charging this price for this service. Even when they brought the food they acted like they are doing us a favor. If you’re really looking to eat that’s not the place that serves food. And also the manager at the cashier needs to go home asap since she doesn’t now customer service.
