Was Kunden über Salter House sagen
Salter House is a cute, calm cafe and shop with a 19th-century farmhouse aesthetic. Customers rave about the curated selection of home goods, delicious matcha, and friendly staff, especially Yves, who remembers orders. Some find the sweets too sweet and the shop pricey.

Tip: Ask for a proper cup if staying for coffee to enjoy a delicate cup and saucer. It's a great spot to enjoy the morning light, though they don't have WiFi.

So cute! I love it🥺
Rad place that even serves you coffee and friendly vibes.
Great spot for a cup of tea and people watching.
I'm in love with salter house
Great coffee and ambience
Cute clean beauty
Amazing service
Delightful
The cafe is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. I love coming here to sit and read while my kid takes a class nearby. They make a wonderful matcha, and the store is adorable and relaxing. Highly recommended even if you’re not in the market for little house on the prairie 😋 sort of goods.
Beautiful, light-filled spot for coffee and baked goods, plus a lovely (or precious, depending on your outlook) collection of gifts for the home and children. Friendly staff and best coffee at this end of Atlantic.
Lovely place for a coffee! Amazing tea selection and home goods that can make for incredible gifts. A big fan of the warm staff too :)
Good vibes, great coffee, no pretense. From the outside, it looks like it's just a shop with super cute gifts. But go inside for the great coffee, tea, and awesome playlists.
My new found love ❤️. I could sit here and paint all day! Finest linens in NYC!
Cute place with cute drinks. I love how it is always warm and cozy in there during the winter 😍
My go-to for chic hostess gifts and baby showers, as well as a bright and beautiful space to relax with tea and (vegan/gluten-free) cake. Salter House is a new home from home.
Bought an incredibly cute pot here they have fabulously curated items for sale from around the world.
Cute home goods store with la Colombe coffee, and gluten free baked goods. Most are dairy free or vegan.
Love the Folk Americana style of the products in this store, it's hard to find anything similar elsewhere. Great place to pick up little gifts, also love shopping here for my niece.
Their baked goods are so yummy 🥰 I think about them quite often!
Salter House is a one of a kind experience. Nothing like it in Brooklyn. Store is a special place to buy things for your kids, your house or a gift!
Lovely place to relax, read a book and have a chat. It was quiet, cosy and very inviting when we visited. Staff was friendly. Would definitely go back!
Nice to find a place where you can have a cup of coffee in a REAL mug not made of plastic or paper. Friendly place!
wonderful tea selection and really friendly people, really great vibes here
Visit this place. Good experience gluten free
One of the best teas we tried recently.
Great place, lovely cafe and amazing staff! Salter house feels like a countryside home, in Brooklyn. I have tried various matcha latte in the neighborhood and they have the best one without a doubt! Everyone is always very friendly, baked goods are very good quality. A gem in Brooklyn Heights!
A unique rustic place where local crafts meet baked goods and amazing tea selection. They offer a good choice of gluten free pastries, their matcha latte is also good. This is a primarily retail shop to buy kitchen ware, linens, natural brushes etc. But they have 3 tables inside which makes it a cute space to sip some tea in a cosy setting a-la Provence. Also there are a few seats outside, but Atlantic avenue is not the most picturesque place for people watching.
I stopped by the Salter House, just to visit some friends and take a look … and I left totally enchanted by the little nook. Everything was so well appointed, just enough and not too much. I didn’t expect to shop, but I left having crossed four gifts off my list, and a treat for myself. Tasteful, unique, high quality items at a surprisingly fair price. The retail area takes up only a small part of the space, the rest is dedicated to connecting: An edited selection of simple, healthy baked goods and coffee etc. Window seating that wraps around two sides of the store. Staff is present, friendly, but not over-bearing. If you have children, this feels a welcoming place — a quaint cul de sac feel in the middle of Brooklyn. If you don’t have children, their presence was light hearted and wasn’t disturbing. For those who like careful curation, Picture Room is just next door. Salter House is now at the top of the NYC list of places to go that I share with friends who visit. Thank you!
Great shop! Very calm and quiet. Lots of great unique pieces.
This is the dreamiest, 19th-century-farmhouse-style shop with lovely household items for a simple, more sustainable aesthetic.

I had the most delightful coffee break at this new local spot! It felt almost like stepping into someones home. If you are going to stay for a coffee, make sure to ask for a proper cup. You’ll enjoy sipping from a delicate coffee cup and saucer worthy of an IG photo! With so many windows, the shop feels light and airy, which will be very welcome this winter when I starved for sunlight. I’m happy to be able to bring my vegan friends here for a coffee date as all their pastries are vegan. The woman who owns this spot also owns a shop next door and clearly has impeccable taste. All the items have been thoughtfully sourced for usefulness, beauty, sustainability, and simplicity. I was so happy to see some of my favorite brands in her shop. It’s the perfect place to grab a coffee and a hostess gift.
Just walked by this place on my way to work— it’s so cute! Beautifully curated Japanese and French housewares and delicious coffee. Also they have Baby Cakes (vegan gluten free but passing as neither). Very nice staff, big windows. What’s not to love?
Wonderful shop with a thoughtfully curated collection of home goods ranging from enamelware and pottery, to antique brass candlesticks, to brushes and spoons for your various domestic tasks. There's also a small section of children's toys. If you need a pick-me-up, score a seat at one of there three small tables and order a pastry and coffee (from La Colombe) from the counter.
Really cute place. The sweets were too sweet. The tea and coffee were amazing. Lovely store with lovely things, especially if you are into old fashioned toys.
A friend took me to Salter House today in my hunt for a last minute courthouse wedding outfit. I’d been promised simple, elegant pieces with that effortless, nonchalant vibe. And the clothes delivered. The person working the shop… also embodied “nonchalant,” maybe a little too literally. She was sweet, adorable and practically vapor. After a couple easy questions about sizing, she vanished. We tried on clothes, wandered the store, basically worked our own shift while she floated somewhere in the ether. Maybe it’s the Gen Z allergy to eye contact sans screen, maybe it’s a no commission retail malaise, maybe it’s just trust fund zen. Who knows. Beautiful products either way, but you might have to shoplift them, because no one’s around to ring you up. Who doesn’t love a freebie? Possible solution: teach the basics of customer service, pay staff enough to survive NYC, maybe toss in a little commission so grabbing a size from the back doesn’t feel like an existential threat.
beautiful store, delicious matcha and the nicest employees ever! i have to visit every time i’m in nyc
Beautiful Cafe with special gifts for sale. Great Brunch spot.
The most loveliest of lovely spaces. Cafe, shop and cafe shop 🫖 I was able to purchase some unique imported and Brooklyn bars treats as well as tea pot service for one. Quality Earl grey tea and the lady behind the bar was exquisite. Kind, helpful, and just LOVELY! There’s a clean restroom with a Japanese sliding door, beautiful music perfect for the ambiance but that’s just personal opinion and the best part of many best parts. Spacious, corner space I will think of it fondly till I able to return if ever.
Such a wonderful place to get a coffee with two walls of windows lining the cafe. The vibe is really wonderful and the staff super helpful and chill. I’m especially thankful for the thoughtfully merchandised shop. The sustainable home goods are not only (& most importantly) in harmony with nature, they’re also extremely great looking as items themselves. Can’t wait to go back again and again. Bless this intelligent place.
This place is the sweetest refuge of the neighborhood. I love the desserts, so moist! The people that work there are literally the chicest beings I've ever seen. One of the baristas, Yves, remembers my order every time without fail and like actually asks about my life. I sometimes bring the kids I babysit for in and she always gives a little treat. They adore her. This place is so special.

good cortado
We stumbled onto this little gem wandering through Brooklyn NY. Not on the tourist track. Great burger, even better cup of coffee. Sooo glad we found it. Just a little diner with good service and great food.
I ordered an iced latte made with oat milk, and it was absolutely delicious! I also love that the simple syrup is homemade; it adds a unique touch of sweetness that enhances the overall flavor. This drink is definitely one of my new favorites!
An authentically beautiful place, not bad coffee, not a great selection of baked goods
Lovely decorated Café, what you see is what you can buy. I love the Ambiente and idea, it's a pleasure to sit by the window, enjoy a Cappuccino and look at what's around you or watch busy Atlantic Avenue.. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Only thing I missed was something other to eat than cookies & cake, BUT the cookie was sooo delicious! Highly recommended!

They don't have WiFi and the coffee is not the best, but is a nice spot to sit and enjoy the morning light.
Looked like a Pilgrim Village, expected more. I guess it wasn’t my style. I much prefer Lolo’s

Staff is rude 100% of the time. I get it to an extent because working with the public can be exhausting and irritating, but no matter how pleasant you are, the staff acts as if asking for a coffee is the biggest inconvenience ever. Have tried this place a few times and it’s the same each time. Take your business elsewhere.
Cute but in several ways a copy of Swallow on Smith Street.
Had the worst chai latte…it was so watery with no flavor
I purchased a pair of Gardener Shoes and was genuinely very excited to receive them. Unfortunately, what followed was one of the most frustrating customer experiences I’ve ever had. The shoes were shipped internationally from New York to Japan, but when the package arrived, it contained only the left shoe. I immediately contacted customer service to request an exchange, assuming this would be a straightforward issue to resolve. However, the process quickly became unnecessarily complicated and prolonged. I told that a DHL return label is need to be arranged by them, but it was never properly sent. On top of that, communication was extremely poor - responses to my emails would take several weeks to over a month, and often required repeated follow-ups on my end. Despite the case being handled as an exchange, I later found out that no replacement stock had even been secured. In the end, I was simply offered a refund instead of an exchange. I find it very difficult to understand how a company can proceed with an exchange process without ensuring that replacement inventory is available. What is most disappointing is not just the initial mistake, but the lack of organization, accountability, and sincerity throughout the entire process. From the time this issue started in November until it was finally resolved in April, it took approximately five months. While the product itself is appealing, this experience has completely undermined my trust in the brand. I strongly hope that significant improvements are made to both customer service and internal operations to prevent situations like this from happening to others.
Staff are incredibly rude; they did not offer to help you with anything and, when asked, acted like this was an enormous chore.
I paid close to $8 for the most watery, disgusting Matcha I’ve ever had. It tastes like watered down milk with a sprinkle of matcha on top.
top 3 worst customer service experiences i’ve ever had in NYC..
