My absolute favorite coffee place in the neighborhood. Great baristas, really unique and high-quality featured espressos and pour-overs, and the pastries & bacon egg and cheese are incredible. Love going here to grab a coffee on the way to work but love going here to sit and write, read, or work for hours even more. I can’t believe this place used to not exist; I hope it stays open forever.

An amazing roast—light, very dry—in a well crafted flatwhite.

Great coffee, friendly baristas, and the best cardamom buns! Prices are a bit steep, but they are a no tipping establishment.

They offer a diverse drink menu, including classic coffee drinks and various non-coffee, non-caffeinated options, catering to all tastes. Whether you're after a perfect espresso or a refreshing alternative, you'll find it here. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, and the café also serves yummy pastries and some delicious bagel sandwiches. Their charm extends to the merchandise, with cute T-shirts and boxes of their specialty coffee blends available for purchase. The spacious setting is ideal for remote work, with plenty of seating and chargers at almost every table.

Excellent coffee, matcha and tea! The baristas are trained and knowledgeable you will get some of the best coffee in the city here. Three legged cat also host incredible community events to bring together local roasters and coffee lovers alike.

The name alone caught my attention because i love cats, and of course they had chai. The place is small, but very cute and offers a variety of local coffee beans that you can purchase. We bought the iced chai and lemon almond cake. The chai had a really nice spice, I think it would be better hot though. I for dure will go back to try the hot one. The almond lemon cake was to die for. Super delicious. They had a nice variety of pastries and sandwiches, it actually smelled very good walking in there, like freshly toasted fresh bread.

Delightful new cafe! My coffee-drinking partner says they have very interesting coffees; my chai was good too!

Impeccable vibes with incredible coffee. I love that they feature so many different local roasteries; shopping for beans there gives you so much variety to choose from. The baristas are really knowledgable, and it's a tip-free cafe which I also appreciate

I was in today and reminded the barista that I was in the previous week to witness the group that brought in outside food, and he asked them to please not do that. He commented that they had left a bad review and complained (the one from John, below). I was stunned - who brings in outside food to a busy cafe, and then complains when they are called out on it? It is unbelievably rude. When I arrived on that day, I had to stand at first, so it not like this is place isn’t bustling with people. By taking seats (and eating outside food), there isn’t an opportunity for another group to come in and purchase food (very good food) available in the cafe. I’m not saying what they did would be ok even if seats were widely available (it wouldn’t), but it’s amazing to me that that they would have the audacity to complain when everyone knows you can’t bring in outside food to a cafe. I could smell the deli sandwiches and I was a few tables down. The barista said they also brought in beer, which I note was not mentioned by the complainer. As for the way it was handled, I can’t fault the barista at all. He said loudly, “hey, that’s crazy that you would do that” to the group, and I immediately thought “good on you for doing that”. The response of the group was obnoxious - eye rolls, sneers - when it should have been sheepish and apologetic. Well done, barista

Originally stopped in to pick up a TGTG order. However the vibe of the place was so nice. The gentleman at the counter was so nice. I ended up purchasing a latte and a half and half. Both drinks were delicious and the pastries were so fresh. Can’t wait to go back for another lavender latte.

I’m so glad TLC opened last year and I’m here all the time lol. Exactly what we all needed; a good place to get work done weeklong, never too crowded or loud, beautiful natural light, and with an owner and staff who really care about the craft/quality of the coffee. To those who think it’s overpriced, I always feel like I’m paying for the quality of the environment and experience optimal for getting work done or catching up w a friend beyond just the coffee. Could not recommend enough, best shop in the neighborhood right now

I come here almost everyday! Amazing little coffee shop with super friendly + knowledgeable staff, and prices that include tips. A latte, which I would have given about a $2-4 tip on at any other coffee shop, came out to around $8 and some change. Ambience is great, probably one of the best in Brooklyn. They make a really good breakfast sandwich too, with bagels from another local shop. Love this place!!

Great little spot. The espresso was great and very full bodied. Served on a tray with a sparkling water. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the music chilled. Perfect for a catch up conversation, reflection or book read. There are small tables dotted everywhere. There is a restroom/loo too. The food variety is just simple breakfast pastries and sandwiches. I had the melted cheese and egg sourdough toasted sandwich. The area is very quirky with many restaurants around and easily accessible. There is plenty of parking and a lot of side streets. Overall, this was a great experience and super relaxed atmosphere.

Serving up coffee from several high quality local roasters in a very chill modern atmosphere. Plenty of seating and outlets, and super kind and knowledgable staff. Let’s be honest, I didn’t have high hopes but I came away pleasantly surprised. The “Milky Cake” pour over was delicious. Well prepared in V60, it was full of cinnamon smells and juicy complex flavors. They have quality coffees with many naturally processed and anaerobic, along with lighter roasts. That’s hard to come by in NYC. Space is comfortable, cozy, and minimalist with plenty of natural light. Prices for NYC are reasonable at $8-9 for a pour-over. Compare that with the $16+ pour-overs at Sey. This may not have been the greatest coffee of my life but perhaps one of the best I’ve had in NYC and that’s saying something in this wasteland of old school dark roast coffee culture. As such it gets an NYC five stars.

I got an espresso here, which was fantastic. Unlike a majority of cafes in Williamsburg which pay more attention to the environment rather than actually serving a great "coffee", their coffee is great. This is a trivial thing but I like that they serve sparkling water to clean the palette before drinking the espresso, unlike many cafes here. It also helps that they source their beans from a variety of high quality roasteries. Lastly, I love that you pay whatever you see on the menu - they include the gratuity and the tax in the price so a $5.25 coffee doesn't become $7 like at most other places.

G
Gabe Merizalde

Hands down best coffee in the area, imo. Lived in the area for 3+ years, and they seem to really care about quality coffee and a shockingly good bec on a bagel to boot. Not really a spot to go for specialty lattes or sweet drinks, but a spot for lovers of coffee for sure.

Hey friends! This review is about sustainability only. I was thrilled to see that you have real, reusable mugs available to customers enjoying their (delicious!!!) coffee to stay. By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. And almost 95% of the plastic we produce and consume does not actually get recycled, even with the best of intentions. Instead, it winds up piled in landfills, burned in incinerators, and floating in our waters, where it breaks down into microplastics that we consume and get sick from. So it means a lot to me, in this waterfront city, to opt out of needless plastics that contribute to our pollution crisis. To that end, I wonder if you would consider selling something instead of this plastic bottled water? I understand the need to make money from concessions, but surely there are better options to pursue than these. Canned water, glass bottled water…each worth considering! Thank you for your time, and thank you for a fantastic coffee in such a sunny, welcoming space. The ambience and service is lovely!

Came in to get a coffee, the coffee is very acidic and has no coffee notes. You don’t have to try to hard to get the right coffee. Way to pricy for a cup of coffee that doesn’t taste like a coffee roaster.

Great $8 coffee (tip included). Matcha is a bit too light for the milk ratio. Overall I love this spot. If they could get better ventilation to control the smoke it would be a 8/10. With the smoke- 6.5/10

Audibly gasped at a $8.60 iced latte. It includes tip but even still, a latte should never be this much. Good iced latte, but not worth $8.60.

I specifically came to this café to buy an iced latte. At the first sip, it tasted really bland. The beans weren’t great. Then I saw they used oat milk. But when I ordered, I clearly said I wanted whole milk. When I got the drink, it was the first time I felt an iced latte could be so disappointing. After tax, it came out to $8. This drink is not worth $8. Overpriced. Although the café has a decent vibe, if the coffee is going to be like this… maybe it’s time to change the male barista?

The space has potential, but my latte was overly milky with little espresso or matcha flavor, and the pastries fell flat. Staff was friendly, though later in the day the music became uncomfortably loud. With major tweaks to drinks, food, and atmosphere, this could be a good addition to East Williamsburg.

I hope my experience here was a one-off instance: Firstly, the cashier was blank faced and seemed unbothered when taking my order—fine sometimes people are having a bad day. Then I picked up a drink from the counter assuming it was mine because it had been a few minutes and I didn’t hear them calling the order. A few moments later they asked if I had picked up someone else’s drink and I apologized and gave it back—the shop manager/owner said with a condescending tone, “Ya well you can ask, that’s what we’re here for”… and I was speechless. Seemed like the general vibe of the day was that they hated their job and the world. I can’t even say their coffee was good as it tasted pretty acidic. Will I be going back even though there was wifi and decent seating? Nope but I hope everyone there feels better soon.

Came back to this coffee shop after a few months away, excited for my usual iced latte. $8.50 later, I took my first sip and was surprised to find... a refreshing glass of milk. Somewhere, deep in the background, a coffee bean may have whispered its essence, but that’s about it. When I politely mentioned this to the barista, I was told, “Sure, for two dollars more,” followed by a dismissive explanation that it was a double shot in a 16oz cup. I decided not to argue and just left with my overly milky drink… only to later notice a long dark hair floating in it. A signature garnish, I suppose? Between the poor attitude, lack of quality control, and overpriced drinks, I don’t think I’ll be back. So, if you’re into pricey milk with a hint of espresso, enjoy being talked down to, and don’t mind a DNA sample in your cup — this place might be right up your alley.

Went here with my fiancee and mother while visiting for concert a few days ago, on my birthday no less. The barista made us drinks so we were paying customers, and we also had a few sandwiches from the deli across the street and we were just trying to stay warm and eat before the show as we had another hour before we could go in. After 20 minutes of us not being loud or causing any commotion, our barista looks at my mother and tells her that she's crazy that we're all in there eating. Honestly it's baffling considering we were paying customers, we weren't bothering anyone, and there was nowhere stated in or around the establishment that outside food was permitted. On top of being rudely told to leave, we had to sit out in the cold for an hour. I'm honestly disappointed, I thought local coffee shops like this were supposed to make you feel invited and it put me off from ever coming here or any small coffee shop again.

G
Graham Lightner

They charge $9.75 for their single origin espresso from onyx but they weren’t prepared to pull it, didn’t dial it in and pulled a mediocre shot. For that price and if you’re going to offer it, you have to nail it.

M

Visited this cafe recently and was very shocked by the behavior of the owner. He was vaping inside and appeared impaired as a result. He took a long time with my order, constantly messing up and forgetting items. While we were eating, he became aggressive towards customers, shouting and making everyone in the cafe feel uncomfortable. A shame because the food wasn’t bad.

C
Conor S.

The barista was vaping during service, visibly high, yelling at customers, refused to make pour overs, messed up drinks, and closed the cafe early. Turns out that barista was a cofounder - Leeor. While the space is gorgeous and the coffee was good, I would not go back to this cafe. A cofounder who believes they are entitled to yell at customers, refuse to make drinks, and smoke during service is not an owner I would like to support. Who starts a cafe if they are not excited to make coffee?
