Best Thai food ever! However, it does get a bit pricey but it’s such a nice splurge. And the food is halal! It’s always such a tasty meal. I recommend it for a birthday if you’re ever stuck in nice halal places to eat!
Busy Saturday night. We had a reservation for a party of 10 and were seated within 10 minutes of arrival. Non-alcoholic drink options were decent but on the steep side price wise (menu only shows one price, between $8-$14) but they offer you a small or large size, not telling you what the price difference is. Food was AMAZING all around. Perfectly cooked and presented. Being a busy night they seemed in a rush to get the table freed up, but it was understandable with long lines outside.
We went on a weekday for lunch, so it was not crowded, and there's also the more affordable luncheon menu. At this time, the restaurant was mostly empty and very peaceful. The waiters were attentive about food choices that we might have. Both dishes were delicious and also beautiful. I had green curry, which I loved. Not Americanized Thai food, and in New York, one would expect good, authentic Thai food.
I have gone a few times to this place now with my friends and now with my family. I would like to start with the atmosphere it is a such a beautiful ambiance and there is never a bad crowd here. The staff is so warm, friendly, and welcoming. My visit this time was with Tarn and she was so helpful and had even apologized for the delay on one of the orders. All the staff is amazing! Definitely check this place out their Thai food is literally Top Thai🙈
If you're going to order an appetizer, you can't go wrong with the duck rolls. Flavored and seasoned to perfection. I had the koi noodles with Chicken, I forgot the full name but it has creamy curry with spices and vegetables with hot crushed pepper on the side if you like to make things spice. The waiters are attentive, but maybe a little too much, they came around every 5 minutes. Highly recommend!!!
The server was very sweet! Also, the food was top tier. It was served hot and the flavors were on point. I ordered the spicy udon with squid and i loved the texture. it was really pretty inside and the ambience was nice too. overall, i will definitely be coming back!
Excellent Thai food that's similar to what I've had in Thailand, also great for big groups with easy to get reservations. Highlights were the Khao Soi (4.5/5), Green curry (4/5 sans the steak), and the pad Thai (4/5). All the food was very well done, well seasoned, and had excellent portions. One pro tip tho, the other location is cheaper, I'm it here you can reserve for larger parties. I'd recommend!
What. A. Place. I oftentimes struggle to find halal Thai food, but THIS was something I’ll never forget. We were a large group, and instead of being greeted with exhaustion— we were greeted with warm smiles and gentle energy. That in on itself is commendable, I am ever so grateful that the staff was as kind as they were. The place is so colorful and fun it makes sitting there feel like an experience. The food was also delicious, I have never had such good food in my life. I got a medium rare steak on top of some rice I don’t recall the name but it was delicious. The steak was nothing too bizarre but again it was still SO good. Thank you to everyone who made this so enjoyable I HIGHLY recommend it.
Amazing Thai food in a good location! Although this place was packed, we did make a reservation and the food was certainly worth it. The staff were friendly and the service was great. We didn't have to wait too long for the food. The food was tasty and the atmosphere here was really nice. I had the Pad Thai Noodle with grilled skirt steak, which was very delicious. The steak was cooked just the way we liked. Overall, this is a great location, the food was really good and friendly staff. I would recommend everyone to check this place out and make sure to make a reservation.
Walking in you will hear the buzz of conversation because this place is rightfully busy. It doesn't detract from the atmosphere and emphasize the experience. The food was amazing, from the crab rangoon and chicken dumplings to the pad see ew. Looking forward to coming back and trying the fried fish!
Excellent Thai food and highly recommended if you are in NY and fancy a change! The service is brilliant - super helpful and friendly. Menu is huge and we had a fair few starters and mains and every single person was super pleased. For starters, the dim sum selection is excellent and the steak is out of this world!
Kate our server was so pleasant! Everyone was extremely attentive and kind, our food Came out very quick and we had a large group of 10 people. Our drinks were superb, and the vibes were immaculate. We celebrated our friend’s birthday party, and they accommodated us so well, and showed her a surprise gesture.
The food was spectacular and the whole ambiance was majestic. We were a group of four and the portions were more than enough. We got the appetizer sampler which consists of chicken satay, steak and calamari. We also got drinks and our main entrees were spicy ton yum fried rice with crispy duck, mango red curry, crispy duck udon , and Top Thai chicken curry. We also ordered papaya salad as a side. Overall, food was absolutely delectable. Do try this place and ask for Marian who has done a commendable job serving us.
Top Thai lives up to its name. I always look forward to coming here and eating the Basil Udon with chicken. It’s such an amazing atmosphere. Staff is always very welcoming when coming in. The service is great and fast! Our server Flook was great and attentive. Always a pleasure coming to Top Thai.
Seated for our reservation on time. Good communication. They called to confirm our group before however since it was a surprise party, I couldn't speak on the phone. Asked one of our group to call or arrive as soon as possible. Very accommodating as some guests arrived late. Better than average food and drink delivery time. Food was amazing. 13 of us got a variety of meals. All said food was great.
The restaurant was great! Even though we came late to our reservation for 5, they were super nice to accommodate and were able to find us a table. The restaurant itself was very spacious, with plenty of space between tables. The food was delicious! We ordered quite a few dishes and all of them were great incl. the grilled steak 🥩 in a green curry sauce and the koi sew with chicken (one of my fave dishes). I personally thought that the pineapple fried rice and the fried calamari were just ok and nothing special or to write home about. The service was also great! Our waitress was super nice and was accommodating to our baby situation and even brought out hot water multiple times when we needed to heat and reheat the baby's milk. She was also super helpful in navigating the menu and was kind when it was time for us to leave since we had been sitting there for so long 😅
Delicious! So happy we were able to book a last minute reservation here. This place has a fun energy and was very busy on a Saturday evening, the service was amazing and the staff were working so hard! We ordered a chicken pad Thai and the peanut Thai curry with chicken -- both were super flavorful, fresh, and delicious. Definitely recommend!
Amazing place, delicious food, very welcoming staff, and super fast service! Eric is the man for always getting us the best tables in the dinning room, thanks Eric! Loved their birthday celebrations, superb wibe, super delicious food. Top Thai Cocktail with sugarcane stick, Steak Fried rice, and Shrimp Noodles- simply yummm!!!!
My daughter lives in NY, she told us this was a must. “Sometimes you can’t even get in it’s so popular because the food is spectacular.” Like so many powerfully delicious restaurants, the building is unassumingly small and every space is used but done so in a way that you don’t feel pushed in corner. The energy of the staff, the fervor of hurried anticipation from the customers, the young vibrant and diverse crowd enriches the sense of something good is about to happen. The customer service is some of the best and most attentive I have ever experienced, especially so for NY. The Food Halal options, fresh, curry style based and protein options from beef to chicken to duck and some pork options as well as tofu. Every bite is a journey of gustatory gander of Southeast Asian sustenance. The ability to customize the dish according to your Scoville score is available, just alert your server and you can surely scorch your sphincter. Everything was good, I mean the food, the drinks and the vibe, the service and balance of checking on our rather large group and allowing us to savor the spoils. Call ahead and get reservations, it closes at 2 or 3pm and then reopens daily I think at 4pm and fills fast. Go, eat, drink laugh and learn something new.
We waited over 45 minutes despite having reservations but once we got in things were great. Awesome music, attentive service, fast service, and delicious food. Fluke was our server and was wondering and funny. They have halal options and do a fun birthday celebration too. Will highly recommend to friends visiting New York City.
This dining experience was truly unforgettable! The incredible atmosphere, music, and ambiance instantly transport you to Thailand. The service was absolutely amazing—a special thanks to our bartender, Muay, who was friendly and provided excellent service with a genuine smile. The food was superb; every dish was prepared perfectly, with flavors and aromas that genuinely reminded us of the authentic taste of Bangkok. We highly recommend this gem! 5/5 Stars.
Lovely dinner with friends, flavorful fresh soups, great appetizers, Our waiter Tarn was so sweet and kind, she even took photos of us throughout our meal, if you are looking for a nice bite to eat I suggest this area. And it just so happened that three peoples birthdays happened today! So if you’re looking for a birthday dinner place, Top this is the way to go!
We three (my wife, daughter and me) had a unforgettable experience here just yesterday (Sunday, October 5, 2025). The drinks, the appetizers and the main course (food) yummy and delicious. And service too was amazing. It was our first time at Top Thai and it was far beyond our expectations. Too good. We strongly recommend this place.
Gem NYC spot for Thai food, I always come back for their drinks and Green Curry. Clean bathroom. Friendly staffs. Great indoor scenery & birthday vibe (somehow there's always someone's birthday everytime I come here btw). Near West 4th St's A B C D E F M station & Huston St's 1 station Thai Ice Tea (small) $6 Ginger Fizz (small) $7 (large +$2) Fried Calamari $16 Spicy Basil Fried Rice (with shrimp) $26 Green Curry (with Chicken) $25 Pad Thai (with Chicken) $25 IF YOU PAY WITH CASH, YOU WILL GET 10% CASH DISCOUNT.
We had an early dinner here and it was very delicious. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We had crab rangoon and wings and roti for appetizer, the steak and rice as well as chicken pad thai annd tom yum soup🍲 Amazing food with an amazing vibe!!🫶 Muay was an awesome waiter!
I made a reservation for five but we ended up waiting an extra hour or so due to reservations that were pushed back that day. I'm not sure that it is something that occurs often but that was probably the only downfall of this restaurant. Once we receded the service was amazing food came superduper fast and there were many many birthday tables so we got to enjoy every one of those also. The service was very nice I just wish we would've been seated for the time that I had made the reservation.
This place is amazing, gives a nice vibe. Their staff are really nice and handle the service very well. Anytime it’s someone’s birthday they put on a cute birthday song. They have great food and it’s one of the best Thai cuisines I’ve been to! Everyone should come here and try this place out!
Top Thai 55 takes its place among some of the top Thai restaurants in my book. Each dish was packed with flavor and satisfied me greatly. Of note, the green curry and vegetable spring rolls were exceptional. The green curry was so good I could drink it straight. The vegetable spring rolls had a great texture and were light, refreshing, yet also hearty when paired with the accompanying peanut sauce. Not pictured were cucumber and ginger (non alcoholic) drinks that were also quite refreshing and tasty. A bonus point is all of their protein options are Halal. Overall I’d be happy to recommend Top Thai 55 to Thai food lovers and those with Halal dietary restrictions.
Top Thai definitely lives up to its name! My husband and I had lunch here for the first time with our friends, and we had such a great experience, from the service to the food! The Pad See Ew, Fried Rice, and Udon noodles were all so flavorful and delicious! Our servers were all super friendly as well. Love that everything is halal (except the alcoholic drinks). 10/10 recommend, will definitely be back!!
We had the best tom kha kai at this place today. We also ordered chicken satay(delicious), mango salad(yall need to order this), khao soi (heavy and filling), penang duck curry(order this pls so rich in flavour). The food was so delicious, portion was good but I will say the lychee drinks were underwhelming. But their mango drinks are good so maybe order those over the lychee drinks. We didnt needed a reso we just walked and got sitted right away. Our server was this sweet guy whose name i can’t remember rn but he suggested some of the dishes we ordered. Glad we did cause they were tasty. Also this place is serving halal dishes which is always great.
Absolutely love this place! The food and decor bring me back to old Thailand — warm, nostalgic, and full of charm. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was attentive, and the drinks were great too — plus, there’s a nice bar inside. I went with a friend and we both left happy and full. Highly recommend!
This was our first visit to Top Thai Food, and the food was excellent. May, our server, was very courteous, attentive, and responsive throughout our visit. The best part is that all of the food is halal. We traveled from Reno, Nevada, and are very glad we found this restaurant. We will definitely be returning again in the future.
Had an amazing experience at Top Thai! Halal Thai food in West Village and absolutely incredible. The service is top notch, friendly staff and great and quick service. Also, the restaurant decor is beautiful, very colorful inside. My party ordered the appetizers tray and also Udon Duck Noodle/Curry. We topped it off with some Iced Thai Boba. Everything absolutely hit the spot. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend a visit! (make a reservation beforehand if you can because it gets very busy)
The food was really good and the portion sizes were excellent 😋 also great customer service, our waiter, muay gave us a ton of recommendations and was helpful in deciding what to get, and the drinks were sooo good. I usually taste alcholol in everything but these were undetectable and delicious (dangerous!!!)
This was our second time here and we had a blast! Our servers were amazing and they were very attentive. We didn’t have to call them over for anything. They were perfect with clearing the tables as we ate and very accommodating. Asked us if we had any allergies or any other food concerns before ordering Red, our order back to us and took their time and was very patient with us. One of our favorite spots to visit in NYC and will definitely be back!
Every dish was delicious. I took pictures of none of them except this one masterpiece. It's a cute place that was very accommodating to our many reservation changes. Go eat there.

food was really good. I got the fried duck and veggies, and my partner got curry soup. Pina coladas are perfectly blended. Definitely, recommend this place
Very cute spot to go with friends for a Sunday dinner. They even have a happy hour - it went until 7pm on Sunday. The pad see ew was very delish, would get again! Nice staff and service was quick.
Their rose margarita and Thai basil udon noodles were amazing! The service was great and it's such a cute restaurant in the west village.

Amazing happy hour delay!! Phenomenal food and great service.\n\nQuickly becoming one of my favorite spots. Cute and lively decorated interior.
One of the best Thai food I have had. I am sure there are better out there but for me this was the best Thai food I have had in the US. Service was extremely fast even though it was a full house. …
Great restaurant! I had great experience. The staff was helpful and attentive. The pineapple fried rice was perfect. Definitely liked the atmosphere and coziness of the restaurant.

Great Thai spot in the city! Tried this place while visiting the area because of the high Google ratings, and it didn’t disappoint. The green curry, pad see ew, and fried rice were all solid choices — full of flavor and well-prepared. The highlight was definitely the service; our server was exceptional and made the experience even better. Worth checking out if you’re in town!
I love food that is hot(temperature), fresh, perfectly seasoned and a decent quantity for at least 2. This place does just that. We got the carmine fried rice, pad see ew with beef and the steak appetizer was so juicy and perfectly medium rare. Love this spot for a no-fuss Thai dinner. Might need a reservation if you plan to visit on a weekend.
The staff is positioned out front like bouncers for a night club and won’t seat you without a complete party. Of course you’re directed to the bar, lots of effort to sell drinks. Happy hour drinks were good, a little heavy on the ice. Nice bartender. We decided to eat at the bar. I had the Kow Soi chicken, at $26 the price is high for a mediocre dish. Most of the price points are higher than what you would expect for Thai food but the place was packed. Sorry but I felt the value proposition was not there. As a business the formula seemed to work but as a customer I felt disappointed. Staff was mostly friendly and helpful.

Cosy stylish Thai restaurant with prompt service and accommodating staff. Extensive menu of great food in a vibrant restaurant area.
The food here is tasty, but boy is it pricey. Ordered their ground chicken pad kra pow special, which tasted fibe, but charging $30 is absurd, considering they didn’t even put a fried egg on it, or use holy basil. But shame on me for not looking at the price. Server was very nice though, and the space is decorated so fun. I’ll definitely come back to try some of their other dishes. The Thai iced tea was also good.
The food was alright, but not really worth the price. Why should a basic crispy duck and vegetables cost 32$? The service was slow and inattentive, yet expected 20% tip. I’m more than happy to tip, but don’t expect a tip from me when you didn’t come once to ask if the food is ok, if you’re just handing out the cheque at the end without asking if we’d like anything else (like a dessert), if we’re waiting 10 minutes for you to give us a menu. We still tipped 18% out of courtesy but we will definitely not be returning here. The competition is high in NYC and there are plenty better spots to eat Thai food.
I came here for lunch with my boyfriend and this spot is over rated.... \nDon't get fooled by the reviews\nWe ordered a pad Thai and pad see ew and we both added the skirt steak the more expensiv…
I wanted to like this place but the food and drinks were just okay. The ambience is very cute and the service is good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.
The food is OK - some dishes were good (like pad see woo) others were terrible - like undercooked steak, and way-too-sweet pad Thai. The food is over priced for what you get, but what lowers this to 2-star is the service - horrendous. We reserved a table for 8 but didn't specify sitting together. So the very rude hostesses gave us 2 options: sit in two separate tables, or sit together but only for am hour because "they had another reservation for 8". Lo and behold, when we were rushed out of the restaurant, they separated our table of 8 into 2 tables and just went about their business. On top of that they pre-fill a 20% tip for thay terrible service!
I generally avoid negative reviews but this time I am really not sure why this place has sooo many 5 star reviews. Their stuff is trained to just rush you irrespective of the fact it is Wednesday 6pm dinner time, there are empty tables and there are no waiting customers. The staff wanted us to order everything together, not just drinks and apps first. Reason? They don’t want food to fall on their laminated menus. We reached at 6:15, ordered drinks and apps and mains. Were done by 7:20 and without even asking do you want anything else or deserts were handed the check without asking for it. The drinks server would not even wait for me to open my phone to get a video of the bubble. They don’t have proper wind chill control and would not switch tables. The only good thing was green curry and pineapple fried rice. Hence the 2 stars. We still paid 20% gratuity coz don’t want to hurt anyone monetarily but you ought to learn some hospitality. The spend per person data on google is also incorrect coz a single dish is almost $30 .

The front-of-house staff was unbelievably rude. We were told, “I don’t have time to talk to you. Your table will be ready when it’s ready.” When we asked a simple question after waiting, we were basically told if we were “sick of waiting,” they would just cancel our table. We had a reservation and still waited 25 minutes before anyone even bothered to acknowledge us. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable service.
