This is the type of vegan place you go to when someone says "vegan food is boring" Every single dish we had was a 10/10, every bite was better that the last. The staff was super friendly and walked us through the entire menu and gave us good recommendation. The chipotle sauce is an absolute MUST! I don't know how they made it so flavorful but I've never had chipotle sauce (vegan or not) with as much flavor! This is one of the best vegan restaurants I've had in the city in a long time. Prices were responsible for the massive portions. Ambiance was great, gold decor and plenty of seating. I can't wait to go back and try more food!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars We visited Next Stop Vegan in Brooklyn and the experience was outstanding. The atmosphere is super cozy, the menu is impeccable, and the staff provides top-notch service. They also offer Dominican-inspired dishes, which was a great surprise — everything is delicious and made with a plant-based twist. A very special shoutout to Nico, who made sure everything was perfect during our visit. The owner even stopped by our table to chat, making our lunch even more memorable. They are also very attentive with children, which we truly appreciate. Definitely a place we recommend and will be returning to.
My fiancé and I went to Next Stop Vegan for Valentine’s Day and it was absolutely AMAZING! We ordered from the Valentine’s Day special menu and every single dish exceeded our expectations. For appetizers, we had the mini mofonguitos — perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. For our entrées, we ordered the La Bandera and the churrasco mofongo, and wow… the presentation was beautiful and the portions were very generous. You definitely get your money’s worth! Every bite was exquisite — rich, flavorful, and satisfying. The service was just as great as the food. Everyone was so nice, welcoming, and polite, which made our experience even better. We truly enjoyed every moment and can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!
This is a Dominican Plant based restaurant. I am NOT Vegan but I came in support of some of my family members that are. This is my second time there, the first time was just as fabulous. The first time I had the Sancocho, OMG just as delicious as my Puerto Rican mother's. This time I wanted to try something different, so I went for the "chickin" sandwich. I was a little disappointed because it hardly had any "chikin" as the picture on the menu and tasted more like a plantain sandwich. Ive had chicken sandwiches at other plant based only restaurants, that you would never know the difference. The fries were crispy and delicious. I also had the Mofonguitos as an appetizer and they were also very good. The empanadas are also really good, especially with the chimi sauce. WE had the lentil and potato. The host that sat us down and took our order was friendly but not very efficient. We asked several times for items and we were left waiting, BUT the server Jonathan went above and Beyond his service. The items that we asked for came before the original request from the other gentleman. Jonathan kept coming over asking if everything was OK and if we needed anything. Im glad my family members got the Sancocho because I was able to eat from them and not totally regret the experience. I will definitely be back and try other items. This is MY experience. I totally recommend it, even for Non Vegan people like myself.
Where do i even start? This place has it all… ambiance, delicious food, amazing service, yummy drinks, and an authentic flavor. I came here for my birthday dinner after following the restaurant on instagram for so long. I have a nice big bowl of sancocho, it was HUGE. But so delicious that i devoured it. All the meals were exploding with flavor and were made with LOVE! The service was so lovely, they really make you feel like family. +1000 points for the warm ambiance. I recommend this place to vegans and non vegans, 100% worth it.
NSV’s extensive authentic Caribbean menu is creatively delicious and served in a beautiful ambiance with warm A+ hospitality! Perfect for date night or family outings, it’s near major train lines and minutes from the BK bridge. RUN don’t walk to try their vegan salmon mofongo, Dominican chimi, empanadas, and Coconut passion drink! I can’t wait to return for the churrasco, sancocho & cachapas. I’ve experienced NSV’s evolution from their BX to WH to BKH location and it’s hands down worth every trip!
I have nothing but good things to say about this place. First of all the staff here is extremely kind and welcoming. The food here was amazing and flavorful. I highly recommend everyone try this place. And you don't have to be vegan I promise you they won't disappoint 🔥 I want to go back already 😂
The food was amazing ! I had the Dominican independence special dish, Moro negro with pastelon. A must-try for anyone looking to celebrate Dominican cuisine with a vegan twist. I can’t wait to go back! You can tell they truly care about their customers and take pride in what they do. The great service made the whole experience even better.
So tasty! As a Dominican, I’ve missed a lot of the foods I grew up eating so I was really excited to come try out Next stop vegan. I ordered the alcapurrias, la bandera because, duh, and a morir soñando to complete my dinner. The vibe was super cute. Paying homage to the Dominican Republic beautifully. I’ll def be back to try their Moro de guandules and the chimi. Can’t wait!
Food is bomb! One of my personal favorite. I’ve probably tried their entire menu and not one complaint. About anything! All of who I introduce to NSV have had a good experience. It’s the perfect space for a non vegan to flirt with the fact that vegan food taste good. The owner is so welcoming when you dine in and the entire staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Best Caribbean vegan food in NYC.
Amazing vegan restaurant with so many delicious options to choose from. Vegetarian here on my way to be vegan and so glad that this place exists since is hard to find this type of gems, five stars all the way! Nice atmosphere, delicious flavorful dishes and great service. My daughter and I were delighted. Degard our server was on point 👌🏽 Definitely will be coming back.
Our first time at this place, and we loved it! The food was uniformly delicious, and the atmosphere has a very positive and inclusive vibe. Wonderfully friendly and attentive staff (special shout-out to Degar, our server). We'll be back soon, and will be warmly recommending this to all our friends (even the non-vegans). There was a customer there in a wheelchair, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate them.
Make reservations. We came here for our wedding anniversary dinner after a date exploring Prospect Park. We did not have reservations and was asked to please wait a few minutes while they cleaned some tables for us. They were packed on a random Saturday 530pm evening. We got seated shortly after and met some great people that made the night all the more memorable. The empanadas were great, can't go wrong, but the Pizza with Mushroom was the winner. The first bite of the Twisted burrito had so many flavors it was delicious. The La Bandera was delicious with so many ingredients. The decor was cozy and warm with an incredible and unique rope chandelier. We had to get another 4 empanadas to go they were so good. We are coming back again, we have to run through the rest of their menu and will be sure to make reservations ahead of time to be safe. Thank you for making this a special anniversary for us.
Absolutely must visit for unique and diverse vegan food!! Not only is the food incredibly delicious but the owners Blenlly & Javier are so kind and welcoming (as is their staff). I also love how they continuously innovate in the kitchen and introduce new vegan specials — like their most recent bbq rib plate!! I’ve tried many of their dishes and loved every single thing here. Seriously can’t recommend them enough for vegan food that is actually filling and flavorful🔥🔥
I love Next Stop Vegan in Downtown Brooklyn! The food is delicious, but what makes it even better is the amazing hospitality. The owner is so personable and takes the time to speak with customers, which really makes the experience feel special. The portions are huge, which I absolutely love. Highly recommend, and I’m not even vegan! Honestly, everything on the menu is a must-order. 🌱✨
Wonderful pan-Caribbean cuisine. Food is superb, and apparently pretty authentic according to my friends who grew up there. Never disappointed by the food. Service is very friendly and hospitable, but can sometimes be a little bit slow. A little bit pricy, expect to spent 60$/person after tip. But you get absolutely huge portion sizes on most dishes. So you get what you pay for, especially compared to fine dining vegan in nyc. One of my favorite vegan places in NYC. Highly recommend!!!
WOW this place was so good 🤤! I found out about this place through my Instagram Reels and wanted to go as someone who doesn’t eat meat. All of the dishes I had were amazing. The star of the show in my opinion was the Sweet and Spicy Oyster Mushroom Burger. The texture was beautiful and the flavors melded beautifully together. Wait staff were very attentive and friendly as well! I’m definitely coming back to try more of their food! They have another fan now 🤩.
Gosh, I don't know where to start. I'm not even a vegan- only a vegetarian. In fact, I really don't like meat and cheese substitutes. This place is amazing- super fresh, flavorful, and delicious food. I also appreciate that it's a vegan restaurant that serves wine and beer, and cocktails. I'm so sick of healthy/vegan spots being counter-takeout. I ordered the tacos they were flavored well. The taco shell is a plantain. And the vegan chicken is pretty succulent. It was divine! The oyster mushroom burger- to die for! The servers are super friendly. The atmosphere can use a little jazz up. Another reviewer wrote a comment about the chairs being uncomfortable. I agree. But, I'm willing to overlook that with everything else this place has to offer. It's amazing.
The food was delicious and I’m not even vegan, but had been following Next Stop Vegan on IG for a while. I was in town and had the opportunity to have their salad, black beans and rice, plantains and mushrooms with a lemonade. I love that it was all real food, as I’m not a big fan of fake meats. And they give nice portions. I even got to meet the owner. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. I had such a wonderful experience and will be visiting again the next time I’m in town.
Great food, great service. A welcome addition to Downtown Brooklyn. As someone who (occasionally) works in the area, I was disappointed to see so many great restaurants disappear during the height of the pandemic. Thankfully I’m starting to see signs of culinary life begin to reappear. For my first visit I tried their lunch bowl special: Stewed eggplant, rice, and plantains. At first glance I didn’t think the bowl would be enough food, but after devouring everything in the bowl and sitting and chatting with my coworker for a few minutes, I began to feel satisfied. But I’m greedy, so I also ordered an empanada, which was delicious. The passion fruit drink perfectly complemented the meal vibe. Definitely check this place out if you’re looking for a spot that offers a proper mix of healthy eating and good flavor without the guilt.
This was a birthday gift and first time at this vegan establishment. Some things are not explained, like the distilled water is 15.00 a bottle or that you need to ask for plates to share an appetizer, but the food is excellent. The place is small, but being a carnivore and not missing meat was amazing. I wanted to order 2nds of everything, but as the restaurant filled up, the wait time became impossible, and a take-home order took an extra 45 minutes. So order that along with your stay meal. But I am definitely returning!
This was my first time eating vegan food and it was the best experience ever . I did come on a solo date and I felt 100% comfortable from the moment I walked in the door . When I arrived I was greeted immediately with so much love . My waiter took the time out to explain the menu to me and recommended some items for me , not sure of his name but he was amazing . As a Dominican I can definitely say that the flavors are spot on , everything is sooo flavorful and again the service is 10/10 . I highly recommend this spot . My new go to spot .
After a fun visit to the NYC Transit Museum we decided to walk-in at 12:30 on a decent spring Saturday to this very welcoming restaurant with sufficient indoor and outdoor seating. It's a self-serve setup, so you go place your order and then have seat. We ordered a side of Mac n Cheese ($5.99) for our 3 year old which he enjoyed. We also go the Twisted Burrito ($15.99) and BBQ Pull Pork Sandwich ($13.99) as our mains. Food overall is absolutely excellent. The BBQ sandwich definitely was a lot more on the sweeter side because of the BBQ sauce, but they had plenty of hot sauce Sriracha bottles around that helped me adjust the spice on the sandwich and went really well with the seasoned fries. The burrito was delicious too, but the gluten free tortilla chips that it came with, lacked some sauce on the plate. Probably a complementary service of Guac would've paired really well with it. Service was excellent, noise level average (just background music) and they do have some excellent homemade juices too - costing $7 on an average. Overall, absolutely excellent food!
I checked out the Next Stop Vegan Brooklyn location, close to the Brooklyn Bridge. I ordered the El Plato (white rice, black beans, soy beef, side salad topped with avocado slices and sweet plantains) and a side of Mac n cheese. Everything was good and flavorful. I will return to check out other items on the menu and highly recommend it. The atmosphere was very relaxing.
I can’t say enough good things about this my first visit to Next Stop Vegan in celebrating a dear friend’s birthday. We made reservations for a party of 8 and had to adjust the time due to the inclement weather and was met with a Caribbean vibe of “no worries! We’ll see you when you get here🎉” kinda vibe. The layout is intimate and they make great use of the space. The menu is 1 page 2 sided which makes things less complicated 👍🏾 Moat meals are under $20 per person and worth every penny. So affordable. We ordered 8 different dishes to mix and taste and enjoyed them all! What a win. I’m already planning my return trip. Not salty, seasoned well, not oily with tons of great flavor. We had the mofonguitos, el plato, Yuka fries, guacamole & chip, oyster mushroom sandwich, pigeon peas in coconut milk with rice, tofu and avocado, friend green plantain with black bean, avocado, greens and tomato to name a few. Now for the best part. The service! Top notch white glove treatment like you are the only party there. We had 2-3 different servers throughout the evening and each one without exception was outstanding! Thank you for making our celebration oh so special and we can’t wait to experience the awesomeness that is Next Stop Vegan again! You guys rock! Unfortunately no street parking to speak of BUT there are 3 parking garages on the same block so you’ve got options.
Finally had a chance to check out this restaurant. We ordered the cauliflower appetizer, Ropa vieja, and chicken salad. Everything was delicious, but I was really impressed with the ropa vieja. Texture and flavor was on point. We also ordered the lychee paradise and guava blossom spritz. Both were delicious, but if you don’t like ginger skip the lychee paradise.
I had the wonderful opportunity to come across this restaurant (the sign close to court street drew me in) while being downtown brooklyn. From the moment i walked in the aroma of the food took me back to my dad’s cooking (non vegan). The atmosphere was so welcoming and the ladies at the counter were so patient with me and my questions about ingredients (Im sensitive to soy). I went multiple times and my absolute favorite thing is the gandules OMG Delish!!! I cant wait to go back to try the new menu items, i’ve been seeing on socials 😋 I would def recommend this place to any vegan and non vegan. This place has a little for everyone, without lack of flavor. They also have fresh juices, a friend of mine tried and loved it!
I drive from Long Island to Next Stop Vegan at least once every few months. I grew up in the Bronx with Dominican food around me and became vegan 2 years ago, and the food here does not disappoint! Everything you order is so good! My favorite is the sancocho! And I always take empanadas to go. The staff is so friendly, and even the owners come out and check on the tables. I’ve brought non-vegan friends here and they were so impressed too!
Can we first talk about the ambience here! It's so magical and pleasing, warm and cozy, green everywhere! My first time here and it was very exciting. Service was top notch! He explained everything to me without me saying it's my first time! The food is excellent! The right amount of everything in pure perfection.
This is the best vegan restaurant in NYC. If you love flavor, fresh, delicious food. This is a dominincan vegan restaurant. It has all of the famous domincan dishes that you're familiar with, except it's completely vegan. We frequent this restaurant often. We are intentional about supporting this business because it's a small business, and they are incredible at what they do. The service and atmosphere are just as amazing as the food. Your friends who aren't vegan would love this food. We can't stop raving about this place. Run don't walk, You can't lose. Everything is delicious.
We went here for my birthday dinner and they did not disappoint. The service was wonderful and every dish was so yummy and filling. You must have the guava juice! It is absolutely delicious!! I told the waitress that we were there to celebrate my birthday and she surprised me with a birthday dessert and a little gift. I was so touched that she would go out of her way to make my time there special. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back. 😊
Best service in NYC! Stopped here after a quick bite after visiting transit museum- and was blown away by the warm welcome from Wendy. Felt like she invited me to her cozy foliage-surrounded house for a plant based lunch. Not only was she very personable and friendly- but she explained the menu so well that I wanted one of everything. Decided on the Philly cheesesteak and was SOLD! Was so scrumptious, there were only a few fries for leftovers. This place is a hidden gem!
If you’re looking for incredible plant-based food that feels like home, Next Stop Vegan and Quick Bites by Next Stop Vegan are absolute must-visits! Owned by the amazing Blenlly and Javier, these spots consistently serve up fresh, wholesome ingredients in dishes that beautifully capture the flavors we grew up loving as Hispanics. The service is always top-tier, and whenever Blenlly is around, she greets you with warmth and genuine hospitality—like you’re family. Honestly, I eat here so often, I feel like we’re cousins! Highly recommend both locations—you won’t be disappointed!
An absolutely fantastic dining experience in Brooklyn. We were here for lunch, I had an absolutely incredible sandwich with peppers, vegan meat, mushrooms and mayonnaise. My husband had another sandwich, the chimi, which was also absolutely magical. Tasty generous fillings, in a toasted bread, crispy fries, we had both yuca and regular potatoes. The yuca fries were really delicious. Our waiter was friendly, funny and invested in our experience. If you only eat in one place when you are in New York, go here, enjoy the beautiful venue, the accommodating staff and above all the incredibly delicious food!
Food here is unbelievably delicious! You would never imagine you are eating vegan food. It’s so flavorful, fresh and well presented. The flavor of every dish I tried was so well season and put together. The staff is very attentive and the atmosphere is nice for friends and family. If you are looking to have a taste of Dominican food or just vegan food, come to this spot you won’t be disappointed! I invite you to come with some people order different dishes and try them all.
So I have been eyeing this place for a long time, but being from the Bronx, it takes close to a 1hour and 45 to 2 hours depending on transportation. But yesterday I woke up was like definitely going to go here and when I say the vibe, the service, the food Did I say the food was all top-tier. I’m definitely not mad that I hated it, but I’m definitely upset that I will be coming back. I will be taking my behind on that train that bus because there are so many other options I want try. Let’s get into these pictures. I’m not sure what the chef added to that peni, but wow, it really took me back to my younger days. And let's not even mention that sausage with the rice. I am at a loss for words. I've always struggled with my eyes being bigger than my stomach but yesterday I did not care one bit it just meant more food and leftovers for me. Climate/ Vibe When the owner came around. She was incredibly delightful and incredibly enthusiastic. Her face displayed happiness, leading me to conclude this was the reason I came; the food was not just good, but it was joyful food. As I was about to leave, she reminded me and we exchanged some farewell comments: “make sure to enjoy those leftovers,” and sure will today..
Overall experience was phenomenal. The food was delicious and we’ve (me my wife and my mom) eaten at this establishment three times thus far and have had a lot off the menu. The music and vibrations definitely had a Caribbean Latino feel and did I mention how great the food tastes. The workers were pleasantly polite with great ambitious resilience.
From the walk in you catch that island cuisine vibe then when you take a look at the menu you realize you probably gonna order a couple things. Luckily we were a party of 4 so there was enough to go around. Definitely have to come back. The atmosphere came with great tunes and great customer service. We even lucky to speak with the owner and she was very attentive to my party. Final words are this, make sure you come here with an appetite then be sure to stop by for their happy hour 😉 7 star experience !!!!!!!!
I came here unexpectedly, normally I wouldn't hit a vegan or vegetarian place, but we ended up going. It was really a treat. The food is fantastic, it didn't matter that there was no meat. I personally don't eat soy so I avoided the chicken, but they make protein options with mushrooms which were delicious. They had plenty of classic Dominican dishes, just without the meat. The staff was great and answered any questions that there were and made stellar recommendations. It's a great place in Brooklyn, if you get a chance give it a shot.
Today, my friend and I walked in to have dinner together. As we agreed to have a shared meal, our waiter with a full brown colored afro was so genuine with our reciprocation. He also gave us great pointers on our meal choices until one of us gave him a fair tip on our conclusion of our meal. And, since Saratoga Water has been a big trend on social media in April, this restaurant got the water that they served to us which a sparkling water. It also hits the sweet spot. I would love to come back again.
5 stars across the board!! Staff was top tier courteous & kind. After eating 4 empanadas I see why people purchase so many at once.(they will be gone)if you don’t. It’s been some years since I’ve had meat versions, so it was a delight being able to eat a vegan version that was absolutely delicious! The decor was also very lovely, the time I went was early afternoon & it was empty. I can’t wait to visit again & try some other dishes & some of their many desserts.
I had the pleasure of dining at Next Stop Vegan over Memorial Day weekend while visiting New York and meeting my cousin for lunch. It was an incredible experience from start to finish! This quaint little eatery tucked away in downtown Brooklyn is bursting with big flavor and warm hospitality. We started with an order of three empanadas to share: chick’n and cheese, pizza mushroom, and vegan beef. Each one was fried to golden perfection with a light, flaky crust and generously filled. The empanadas are a great size, and even splitting them in half was more than enough to satisfy. The menu was full of options, which made it hard to choose a main dish, but our server Degar was fantastic. He was helpful, patient, and full of great recommendations. I ended up going with one of his favorites, the sweet and spicy oyster mushroom salad, and it might just be one of the best salads I’ve ever had. The mushrooms were big, crispy, and well-seasoned, the plantains were perfectly sweet, and the garlic pretzel bread was the ideal toasted complement. The vegan mayo and house-made chipotle sauce brought everything together with just the right amount of kick. My only minor critique: I would’ve loved a bit more of the organic mixed greens to balance out all the delicious toppings. Still, the portion was so generous I had enough left over for two more meals! My cousin ordered the Cesar’s Philly Cheesesteak with fries. She’s not vegan, but she loved how flavorful the sandwich was and how perfectly the soft-yet-toasted hero roll complemented the filling. To top it all off, I grabbed one of their brownie brookies to go. It is easily one of the best vegan brownies I’ve ever had. Rich, chocolatey, and chewy. Next Stop Vegan is a must-visit whether you’re plant-based or not. The food is packed with flavor, the portions are generous, and the service is top-tier. I can’t wait to come back on my next trip to NYC!
Next Stop Vegan food tasted so good that you wouldn't think it was VEGAN. The owner was very complacent and made sure to greet her clients with a smile and a thank you. She took the time to talk to everyone and made sure everything was taken care of at her table. We ordered different items, and they were all delicious. The macaroni with cheese was phenomenal, and there was a special because it was the menu celebrating the Puerto Rican Day Parade 🇵🇷 and we received an order of shrimp with mofongo and it was unbelievably amazing. Would definitely go back again, and everything was so affordable.
Everything about this place was amazing and our server Jonathan was excellent !!! We came today, a super busy Sunday and not only was he by himself but he was super attentive and friendly to my group and other tables! Please give this man a raise !!!!! Food was absolutely delicious especially for something all vegan, if I didn't know I wouldn't be able to tell this was vegan at all. Thank you for the food and service Jonathan.
We had dinner here and the food was just incredibly delicious. It was fantastic. We were warmly welcomed, got great recommendations. The kitchen was super quick, and we left feeling really full and satisfied. There’s a great selection and an amazing variety of vegan dishes. You can sit outside or inside in the air-conditioned space. Absolutely a place I’d recommend without hesitation.
THE FOOD IS AMAZING THE VIBES ARE INCREDIBLE 💚💚💚💚 EVERYONE FEELS LIKE FAMILY BECAUSE BLENGY AND JAVIER (THE OWNERS) ARE KINDHEARTED AND THEIR ESTABLISHMENT REFLECTS THAT; FROM THE STAFF TO THE DECOR THEIR HEARTS ARE IN ALL OF IT. #FRIENDINYOURPOCKET WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT NSV THEY ARE 10 OUT OF 10 💚💚💚💚
edit: been here many times since it opened and the quality is still very good and the food is delicious. first time trying and it was amazing!! the food was delicious and refreshing. the mac & cheese empanada tasted like real cheese and was cooked to perfection. the restaurant was very clean and the server was extremely nice. can’t wait to come back and try other dishes.
One of the best meals I've had in NYC, regardless of whether it was vegan or not. The flavors and textures were absolutely perfect. I'd recommend this place to anyone, but especially if you're a vegetarian or vegan who's sad that you have to miss out on 90% of Dominican food since it tends to be so meat-heavy. I'm vegetarian, came here with a friend who's not vegetarian, and we both absolutely loved it. I had the chimi sandwich and a sample platter of the starters and everything was amazing.
I have no words to express how amazing this place is! Everything was So so good! In town for work but I have been following them on IG for a long time. I couldn’t wait to come here. It exceeded expectations! It’s great food, Not only for vegans!(my mom was impressed too) The oyster mushrooms “calamari” is a must! The tostones rellenos and the oyster salad you need to try! We Loved not only the food, but the ambiance as well and specially the service. Degar was our server and was on point with all his recommendations. He is the best! Definitely coming back or might be moving next door ;) lol Buen provecho!
Absolutely love this place. The food is fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care—you can truly taste the intention behind it. Whether you’re vegan or not, this restaurant will surprise you in the best way. Amazing dishes, great energy, and a business worth supporting. Highly recommend!
I have to say Nico is always is such a sweetheart. My sister and I love coming here, so we see him quiet often. And each time we go he greets us with such warmth and excitement! We always look forward to not only experiencing your delicious menu but also getting to experience Nico’s hospitality! Thank you guys for everything you do!!!! ❤️❤️
This place is incredible. The ambience, the decor is so chic and superb. Yesterday’s special of crispy rice with the vegan chivo was so good. It was delectable. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Always a 10/10.
Lemme tell you something. I’ve been to some Great vegan places, but baby this place is FANTASTIC! They have ribs and used celery sticks as the bones, the paella is *chefs kiss*. We fed 6 ppl with that plate alone. The drinks were so fresh! And our waiter Deivy was amazing. He helped us pick out everything and even gave us ways to maximize our money when it came to ordering things. He was funny and helpful and knows his stuff! Oh and that sweet and spicy mushroom burger is ssooooo good! My god, on today! I cannot stop singing this place praises. Whenever I visit Brooklyn again I will be back!
Amazing food! I had the empanadas and bandera. My server was friendly and gave great recommendations. I asked him for a photo with my meal that I could use for my online dating profile and he understood the assignment! Got the lighting and angle just right. Will definitely be back to try more fantastic dishes!
Came over from California to visit family and decided to visit Next Stop Vegan since we saw their video on Insta. It was fantastic. The food was awesome and the owners were super nice. They really doing their best to make you feel at home and try and taste a different kind of Dominican food the vegan way. Trust me, next time you want to try authentic Dominican food go over there and check them out. You won’t be disappointed.
Not only have I eaten at Next Stop Vegan and enjoyed the great vibes and friendly service, but I’ve also used them to cater an event and both experiences were exceptional. The food is packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and incredibly satisfying. The catering was a huge hit with guests, with generous portions and fresh, thoughtfully prepared dishes. Professional, reliable, and consistently delicious. Highly recommend for dining in or catering.
I found out about NSV through IG and decided to brunch for VDay. We settled for an 11am res on a Saturday. We immediately found parking right in front (unheard of for the area) and wet promptly seated. From the moment we entered the establishment, to the time we paid our bill, the staff were attentive, and personable. I wish I had asked their names, because they were all amazing. My personal faves were the sancochitos, (the base of the soup was superb. I could’ve had it as a meal and been fine), salmon cocomofongo and guava empanadas with ice cream. The dessert was decadent and a warm welcoming surprise . I would def visit NSV again, and then again. It truly is a vibe .
Wow wow wow. Never been this impressed by a restaurants food before. I’m a foodie and vegetarian for over 10 years. My wife is vegan and we’ve eaten at many restaurants through the years. This is by far the best food I’ve had. The texture and similarity to salmon and flank steak is mind blowing. We got the empanadas, La Bandeja and the Coconut and salmon Mofongo. INCREDIBLE!!!! Please check it out and be as mindblown as I am sitting on this table right now!!! Cocktails might need some work, specially for the price but otherwise amazing gastronomic experience.
I love coming here to next stop vegan. I am picky with my food but with them the food is so delicious that it reminds me of my grandma’s cooking. Also, let’s talk about the atmosphere, it is super cozy and inviting like when your own home surrounded by friends. My favorites are the mini mofonguitos and el matador. Every time I go I try something new but I order those to go so I could enjoy them later. Mmmmm so delicious. 🤤 and let’s about their ginger lemonade it is a perfect and refreshing drink. I truly recommend this spot specially for those that have a selective palate like myself!
My friend and I stopped by for some amazing vegan food and it did not disappoint. I eat a lot of vegan food but my friend does not. I got two birria tacos with yuca fries on the side and a coconut passion fruit drink. Everything was a 10/10. The flavor was amazing. Our server was amazing. One of the owners were also there and she was very kind, friendly and pleasant. My friend got the churrasco platter and as someone who isn’t vegan she enjoyed her food so much. I will be back very soon.
I don't usually give 5 stars, however, this restaurant deserves every star i can. I met the owner when this was just a dream. Since then it has taken off. Quaint atmosphere, very friendly informed staff. Now the food...Next Level ,(should change the name 😅),because that it is. I recently tried the vegan Sancocho which is a soup. I ordered to go,drove 2 and a half hours home and it was still warm and delicious. Please check this place out. Tell them I sent you. You won't get any discount but tell them anyway 🤣🤣🤣
Every single time I eat at NSV, I’m blown away. It’s rare to find a place where the food is consistently incredible, but they nail the flavors every single visit. I leave in awe every time—truly a local gem! My fiancé is obsessed with the Chimi and the Papas Fritas. While it’s impossible for me to pick just one favorite, the Mac and Cheese and the Salmon con Coco Mofongo are absolute must-try staples. You won't regret it! Vete pa’lla ahora.
Gosh there’s so many good things to say about this place!! I’ve been to all the evolutions of next stop that have existed (Washington heights, Greenpoint, and the flagship Brooklyn Heights). The food has always been, as they say, a flavor explosion. Like I can’t even describe it sometimes, such unique dishes, a large variety of options from entrees to apps and even DRINKS! They add new specials often too which is super fun, and they’ve ran various lunch deals that are great when you’re trying to save :) the people, service, and atmosphere is always a vibe. Such nice service and also I loooove how the interior is decorated. You don’t feel like you’re in NYC! If it’s your first time, try some empanadas or a lunch bowl. but you HAVE to try one of their sandwiches at leastttt. their steaks/ribs genuinely don't taste vegan, it's incredible. the care they put into the space and food resonates in your meal and experience :)
Coming into the restaurant, it was nice and clean, the bar looked pretty too. We were seated by the host, the tables are all pretty close to each other so it did feel a little tight. To start, we ordered 2 empanadas. One chicken and cheese, one pizza and mushroom. I For our main course, we ordered the cheesesteak sandwich with fries and the Oyster salad. We expected to get our appetizers first, and then our main course later, but we actually got both of them at the same time which was a bit unusual. Not only that, but we received our food about 20-25 mins after ordering so be wary of the time it takes before your food arrives. To compensate for the late arrival though, our server gave us an extra empanada on the house, the Mac n cheese one, which was nice of him. The 2 sauces we had were the cilantro sauce and chimi sauce, I was a big fan of the cilantro while my partner loved the chimi. Both great options. Our main course was delicious and filling too. I really like how the mushroom is infused in the cheesesteak, I never had smth like it before and I def would have it again. It was my partners first time eating oysters and she enjoyed her salad as well. We’d rate the chicken empanada a 9/10, the mushroom one a 8/10, and the Mac n cheese one a 6/10. The cheesesteak was a 9/10 and the oyster salad was a 7/10 according to my partner. I also had a watermelon cocktail drink that our server recommended. I really only ordered one, but I enjoyed it a lot so I had to get another. I would definitely recommend the watermelon cocktail. Overall food was great, service could have been a bit faster but servers were nice and respectful. Spent about $140 for 2 people here after tip. If you decide to come here, be prepared to wait for ur food. Other than that, no complaints.
The food looked exactly like the pictures, the portion sizes were generous, and the taste was incredible. However, I was a bit disappointed with the French fries—some were overcooked and had turned black. But would definitely love to try many other dishes. As I work nearby, so finding a lunch spot with generous portions is always a win—and this place definitely delivers!
Loved this place! The food was amazing. The loaded nachos are a MUST HAVE. The cauliflower wings and the oyster mushroom burger too! Mofongo was kind of disappointing but none the less many great options. 5 starts for the wait staff! Extremely pleasant! They also have board games that you can play while eating!
Great new vegan spot to eat at. Friendly staff and inviting atmosphere. The create your own bowls are excellent and fulfilling. The food is very tasty, and both potato and macaroni salads are the bomb. The portobello mushrooms, which are an added pleasure. The beef wasn't my cup of tea. However, it didn't taste bad. Texture was just different. The macaroni and cheese tasted okay. At first, I wasn't too thrilled about it. However, it seemed to taste a lot better later on when I ate it for dinner. I look forward to trying other options on the menu.
HEY LOCAL NEW YORKERS AS WELL AS TOURIST, THIS VEGAN DELICACY SERVE IN SUCH A NEW INNOVATIVE WAY BY FELLOW B.X. NATIVE , IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SO FAR I LOVE THE FOOD THE PLATING SIZE ARE WELL WORTH IT...... HERE IS A. GREAT PLACE TO TAKE A SPOUSE OR FAMIL MEMBERS..,BUT MAKE SURE TO MAKE RESERVATIONS BECAUSE THIS RESTAURANT FILLS UP QUICKLY, AND HONESTLY SPACE IS LIMITED ... I TRULY BELIEVE VEGAN OR NOT THERE IS SOMETHING HERE FOR EVERYBODY JUST GIVE IT A CHANCE..... AMBIENCE IS AMAZING , THE FEELING IS WHOLESOME.... YOU CAN SOME TIMES CATCH THE OWNER GREETING GUESTS , SHE IS VERY PERSONAL ABOUT HER ESTABLISHMENT AND IT SHOWS BEAUTIFUL AURA.... THE LOCATION IS DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN NOT TO FAR FROM WHAT USE TO BE FULTON STREET MALL ,CLOSE TO THE COURTHOUSE AND MOVIE THEATER, NOT TO FAR FROM THE 4 TRAIN , R TRAIN ON COURT STREET, MULTIPLE TRAINS THAT ARE CLOSE PROXIMITY, LOCATED ON THE FIRST FLOOR ENTRANCE IS HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE..... THERE IS A PARKING LOT NEAR BY , STREET PARKING IS NOT ADVISED BUT IT IS POSSIBLE DEPENDING ON THE DAY OR HOW FAR YOU ARE WILLING TO WALK TO THE RESTAURANT.... I BELIEVE THE MENU IS KID FRIENDLY DEPENDING ON THE DIETARY NEEDS OF THE CHILD, KIDS AGE 10 AND ABOVE MIGHT BE MORE SUITABLE FOR THIS TYPE OF EATERY.... THERE IS ONLY ONE BATHROOM , BUT IT IS VERY WELL KEPT AND MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT IN THERE FOR TOO LONG... THE LOCATION IS A LITTLE COZY BUT DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH SPACE YOU AND YOUR PARTY TAKE UP YOU WILL MAKE JUST DUE ... I FOR ONE LOOK FORWARD TO THE FUTURE AND POSSIBILITIES OF THIS RESTAURANT ,I CANT WAIT ... LOVE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE WITH THE PLACE.....
Wanted to try this spot out—food was good. The issue? It took 45 minutes to an hour to get a burrito. When I first walked in, it wasn’t clear where to order. It would be easier to have the to-go section near the entrance instead of the bar, As a new customer, how am I supposed to know the setup? No signage, no direction, and the workers didn’t acknowledge me. I only figured it out because two people behind me got greeted and ordered ahead of me, even though I was there first. Not a huge deal—I planned to dine in anyway—but still, no one acknowledged me. So I ended up ordering to-go. Again, the food is good, but I won’t be back. It shouldn’t be that hard to place an order or take that long to get food, especially when the place isn’t busy and there are four employees standing around.
Don’t get me wrong the food was good but we wouldn’t return! It’s a million vegan places with good food and service. They brought my partner food wayyy after I received mine. No my food is packed up and he’s eating. They need to hire more kitchen people or have a order system because this is ridiculous. Bring the food out together and not 20 minutes after the other person food is brought out. I go out to eat pretty frequently and never had this happened before. Please get it together before you loose more customers. Another guest was waiting waiting while everyone received there food. Instead they just bought our extra fries for them. Ridiculous. Downtown Brooklyn location. I see that they had 3 people cooking in the back. It was only 8-9 customers. People who came after us got there food. It need to be a better system in place. They Took forever to bring the machine too pay too. It is empty here. The male server seen us done, seen us with our coats on waiting for over 15 minutes. We had to get up and go all the wayyyy to the register. I asked the boy if they don’t bring the machine to the table. He’s like “yeah you want me bring it to you” yeah never again wasting my time to come here!
I truly hate to give this review since the vibes are great here, the staff is cool and they hold it down for the culture in a great way. The flavors are great too. But both times I've been I've left feeling queasy and my wife this time was borderline ill. Plus, the whole meal there was a faint but noticeable 'off' smell that I couldn't place until I tried a bite of my wife's sancocho. Again, good flavors but if the produce is past its prime I can't in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. Edit: review is the review man! You think Michelin says hey sure, we'll send the guy back for another shot, fourth time's the charm? My wife literally had a mixing bowl next to our bed all night. And I *already* gave benefit of the doubt and came back again. I don't really feel like snitching on any staff, QC is management's responsibility.
First, I want to highlight that our server Denzel was amazing—truly top tier. My two-star rating is for the food quality, as I unfortunately found a hair in my meal. Denzel handled the situation well and spoke with the owner, and they kindly comped my dish, which I appreciated. However, I do feel that as a small business, the owner should have personally come out to address the issue. I was also disappointed to see that dogs are allowed inside the restaurant. I understand this in grocery stores, but I’m not comfortable dining in a restaurant with dogs present.
Hadn’t been here in a while - I stopped going because service and quality was not the same and pricing has always been a little too high for what it is. Absolutely no reason that cauliflower and a few tostones would be over $23 . yesterday being in Brooklyn I thought I would try again. look at this Mac and cheese ! Horrible - whoever eats that - that’s gonna be going through your system causing all types of stuff. It’s like a hockey puck. You couldn’t even break up the Mac n cheese it was literally a glob stuck together- $8 for this …. Anyway, now I know for sure not to ever come back here. Decorations and atmosphere has never been a strong suit for this business (all locations have been ugly or uncomfortable to sit in) you will smell like a kitchen once you leave -uncomfortable chairs/ tables / not aesthetically pleasing/ staff is not very kind / (the fake flower thing isn’t cute. ) and then on top of all that they charge an arm and leg for mid food.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I'm glad I took it before eating this concoction. Let me start by saying that I paid 28 dollars for this plate plus a tip, which comes to 33 dollars. You read that right. 33 dollars for a plate of white rice, a small cup of black beans, two pieces of plantain, and some mushy mushrooms with olives. That's it. I couldn't believe my eyes when I got home and opened this. At first, I was in shock, and then I laughed. The food was just okay. What can I say about white rice? It's the same as in any other place. The vegan pulled pork was nothing remarkable, so this was a double letdown for the price. So here it is, the most expensive white rice in Brooklyn. Save yourself the hassle; there are a ton of other eateries in the area. I dare the restaurant to come out and defend this quackery.
My boyfriend and I made a reservation after debating if we should go out for Valentines Day. We arrived 3min after our reservation time and was told by the front host “Oh those people took your table, they said that was their reservation after looking at the iPad.” This was confusing for us both, as we weren’t late for the reservation. My boyfriend wanted to leave but we decided we would order food to go and placed a $170+ order. When we got back home, we realized that we were given the wrong order and much less food. This was the second mistake of the evening. It’s important to note that the front of house staff were busy socializing and recording in the foyer area when we came to pick up our order, which can lead to distraction and mistakes. We called the restaurant to let them know they gave us the wrong order. The host was distracted on the phone, laughing with other staff members and we had to repeat ourselves several times. I decided we would go back to the restaurant to get our refund. I spoke to the manager David, upon our arrival. I let him know that we had come in for a reservation that was given up in 3min and now we had been given the wrong to go order. David asked “Did you arrive on time for your reservation?” I told him I could show him the uber receipts to show him the time we arrived. He then went to speak to the owners and came back offering a box of chocolate and saying they would refund us. He let me know that they were highly reviewed on Google, I told him I was familiar with the business as I’ve eaten at this location twice before. I also stated that I work in hospitality and client services and understand what quality customer care is. I asked for the refund to be done immediately which he then processed and then gave us our correct order. I’ve always enjoyed the food at NSV, however the service tonight put a damper on our Valentine’s Day and made me consider if I ever want to come back. Hospitality training could be useful for the front of house staff and attention to detail should be emphasized as not to mess up orders or give away reservations. There was a lack of professionalism in the experience, and I hope that NSV improves upon this in order to maintain a quality customer service experience.
