I attended a group luncheon here in the back room. Food and service were very good!
Absolutely wonderful experience with the classic Italian cuisine, friendly and very professional service, and pleasant atmosphere! Every bite was a masterpiece, and the dessert presentation was spectacular!
Always a delightful experience dining here. I loveeee the mushroom risotto with shaved truffle on top. The portion is a good size and the dish itself is fantastic. This is an old school classic Italian restaurant with a casual neighborhood feel. I would definitely recommend especially for big groups and if you're in search of homey, stick to your insides, Italian food.
The ambiance and the service were impeccable.. I chose to listen to Pedro and Steve’s recommendations and they were superb. I came in for an early dinner and left feeling like I had been hosted by family. Could not recommend more.
Beautiful place, excellent service and food. I went during lunch so it pretty quiet. I imagine on a busy night it feels like an event.
Been going for 20 years. Hasn't changed, and that's a good thing.
What a gem! So happy we found this wonderful spot. Set back from the street with excellent service and delicious, authentic Italian dishes, Villa is like a “hug”. Reminded me of favorite Italian restaurants of my childhood-even the matches and butter mints made us smile on the way out! We will most definitely be back to dine again!
The moment you walk in you're greeted by a friendly host that leads your to your table. The ambience is real old school and sophisticated. Friendly service, full bar, cold beers and good food. You won't wait more than 10 or 15 minutes for your food. The staff is on point and everything is done old school, from hand written bill to the payphone in the back of the restaurant this place has a charm that you won't get anywhere else. Highly recommend!
If a place has 3 🌟 service and 5 🌟 food, I typically give it 5 🌟. This place is 5 🌟 on both. I travel to NYC every week (from a southern state where good hospitality is the norm) and I work really long hours so I typically eat dinner by myself at the bar. The service I typically get is nothing noteworthy. Not at Villa Berulia. The staff at Villa is the kindest and most attentive and they give you generous portions of bread, drink, and food (get the risotto - it's delicious!). I felt very welcome and taken care of and will definitely return!
This is a Manhattan gem hidden on busy Park & 34th street. The food is incredible, the staff is attentive, and the vibe is cozy and inviting. We’ve been coming here for years, it’s by far one of the best Italian/Croatian restaurants in the city.
My two adult sons and I had dinner on October 6 2023. We hadn't planned to be at a "fancy" place for dinner, but we were staying at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn so wanted to have a nearby enjoyable last dinner in New York. What stood out was the superb and warm service by Pedro...We three from California felt right at home. Highly recommended for your "dining experience." And thank you again, Pedro. Mike M, Sonora CA
My wife and I have had the pleasure of dining at this location over the years. The men are men, the women women, and the food is as expected. Hail to the classic European values and traditions!
I came here to celebrate a loved ones birthday, and it was absolutely perfect! We arrived early so for most of our meal it was very quiet in the restaurant. I can't for the life of me remember what the name of the dish I had was, but it was incredible. Easily one of the best pasta dishes I've had in my life. The dessert was good as well, though admittedly less impressive. I enjoyed it a lot and would love to visit again!
Villa Berulia is truly a gem in NYC. The food was outstanding—we enjoyed a variety of delicious entrees, and for my main dish, I had a pasta with squid ink and seafood that was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The attention to detail in both taste and presentation was exceptional. The service was just as impressive, with a friendly, attentive staff who made us feel right at home. To top it all off, I even had the pleasure of enjoying a shot of Ginja, a Portuguese liqueur from Óbidos, with who I believe was the manager—a unique and memorable touch! Highly recommend Villa Berulia for an authentic and welcoming dining experience.
Excellent service, food, and drinks. I absolutely loved their meatballs
This place was great. My team was coming in for a conference and last minute decided they wanted to do a group dinner. I called to see if they could accommodate and within 30 minutes we were all seated at a table in a back, private room. The staff was pleasant and the service was attentive. We were a group of 12 and it took a little bit for all of our food to come out. But while we waited the servers kept our glasses full and bread at hand. When the food arrived it was great. Everyone loved every dish they'd ordered, including desserts. Will definitely visit again when we're in town.
We had such a lovely night here. Old world charm and warmth. Our waiter/bartender Josh was top notch! The flourless chocolate cake was out of this world! Will definitely be going back And recommending!
We really like this place. It is truly a traditional type of neighborhood restaurant. The staff take great care of you. They make you feel at home in a genuine way, and they will accommodate any special need. The food is very good. The portions are appropriately sized (as in, NOT chinsy or sparing). The overall atmosphere is very good and very personable. This restaurant has been run by the same family for 43 years-- now the 2nd generation has taken it over. Great place, and if you live anywhere near this restaurant, you really should pay a visit and check it out. And if you live further away, and happen to be in this neighborhood, definitely stop by for a meal. We have done so on multiple occasions, and have really enjoyed the entire experience each time.
This was one of the best Italian dining experiences I have ever had living in NYC! We celebrated my friend’s birthday on a Thursday night, and the atmosphere was lively and fun. The food was FANTASTIC—what was super impressive was that they’d make any classic Italian pasta dish to order, even if it wasn’t on the menu. The waitstaff was incredible. They were so friendly and made us feel right at home. It felt like they truly wanted us to feel comfortable and have a great time at the restaurant. We wanted to bring an outside cake in for our friend, and the host was sooo accommodating in helping us keep the cake a surprise. The server and host went above and beyond to make the night special for our friend. Couldn’t have had a better night. You can tell why this place has been open for 40 years!
What a wonderful evening we had at my favorite restaurant in NYC! Walking into Villa Berulia is like walking into your “home”. Walmly greeted by everyone is a such a blessing. I have a long and loving relationship with the owners of this restaurant. Hugs, & welcome home wishes were shared throughout the evening. The food was delicious, service was impeccable and the ambience was client focused and loving. While I miss my friend, John, I sat this evening at our table and knew he is proud of his daughter, Alex and her husband, Steve. They have continued the tradition of Villa Berulia. May God bless them💚
An absolutely perfect evening. Food was good. Service was excellent. This would be our weekly restaurant if NYC was home for us. You can't miss spending and evening here.
Great spot in New York for very tasty food! The service is top-notch. The bar has a decent selection of drinks. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. We held a small corporate event and everyone enjoyed the dinner! Definitely will visit again.
The food, cocktails, staff and service is all top notch. I have never been disappointed eating there. One thing that does bother me is the cranky old people that complain about a busy and loud restaurant on a Saturday night. Please stay home then!
Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent!! Appetizers, mains, and dessert were all delicious. The wait staff was very attentive. The dining room was very nice and decorated with Christmas lights. Would definitely come back!
Amazing food , atmosphere & hospitality. The entire staff made us feel as if we were dining with family. Good luck on next 35 years!! I am adding to my first review and visit which was over 6 years ago. Having been back to Manhattan, and specifically Murray Hill, several times over the years... our experiences and visits just continue to cement our view of this wonderful establishment. Creating great memories and more amazing conversation with the team at Villa Berulia. Thank you Alex and staff for more wonderful evenings in the city, the most recent a few weeks back. See you in a couple of weeks!!
This is the best Italian restaurant I've eaten at in New York City. The food and service is top notch. You'll have some of the best hand made pasta, and the veal is perfect. It's all done amazingly classic Italian style and I haven't had a meal here I haven't liked. The service is amazing. They're accommodating, ensure you like everything you're served, and love to give you their full attention. Needless to say, this is my new to go. I'll be coming here as frequently as I can. Oh, and need I say happy hour M-F 4-6pm with tasty wines, beers, and perfectly mixed cocktails? Seriously, check it out! It really can’t be beat.
We had a lovely romantic dinner at this fantastic italian restaurant. The food and the service were phenomenal! I am a vegetarian and after letting them know they immediately came with special appetizers for me and offered me many options for my dinner. The service is at another level! They are so kind and welcoming, they made us feel at home. Totally recommend it!
The staff were exceptional - a great balance of warmth, efficiency and helpfulness. After sharing a salad, my daughter had the agnolotti and I had the monkfish. Everything was delicious. I really enjoyed my cocktail as well. I'll definitely come again when back in the area.
This is a quintessential local spot. You wouldn’t know it was on 34th St. unless you stand right in front of it, but one you walk in you know you’re in the right spot, even if it’s your first visit. It’s often crowded in a good way - there is a reason people keep coming back. I came in the first time almost two years ago and have been here nearly weekly since. The staff: Josh, George, Al, and the team make you feel at home. The owners, Alex and Steve, are frequently on site and always greet you with a smile. The service is top-notch and is equally matched by the food and drinks. I recommend any of the pastas, the stuffed sole, or fish of the day. I’ve had nearly everything on the menu I can have and haven’t had a miss yet. You can have an IG restaurant or a good restaurant. This is just a good restaurant that you won’t regret spending an evening at.
We booked a private room at Villa Berulia for our wedding rehearsal dinner and couldn’t be happier with our choice. We hosted 27 people and every single person loved the food (they’re still talking about it almost a month later). They were also able to accommodate both our guests with celiac disease and a nut allergy with no issues. The service was quick and professional without making us feel rushed. We even had to increase our number of guests at the last minute and Villa Berulia was able to accommodate that as well. We cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and its staff! We will definitely be back!
Very nice surprise. I found this restaurant as I was looking for a nice place to have lunch with a couple friends visiting town. I am definitely heading back to this great restaurant. Everything was impeccable: food, service, wine, and dessert all excellent. The place is stylish yet warm and friendly. A great experience!
Delicious! The staff was attentive, and although we did have to wait awhile for the menu, drink service was immediate. The sauce over the short ribs was TO DIE FOR. I could have eaten a bowl of just that sauce! The short ribs and gnocchi were perfectly cooked. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and the atmosphere was lovely. Every table was filled from our 7:45 reservation on, and even though we left after 10:00, I never once felt rushed. I will definitely go back.
Very nice Italian place, perfect for a romantic dinner for two. Not loud, not packed shoulder to shoulder and a great ambiance. We had fried calamari and osso buco and both were perfect, easily among the best we've tried anywhere including Italy. The staff was friendly and polite and the service was quick and professional. Highly recommended.
I read that one should have the osso bucco so I did. It was perfect. I got two meals and an incredible bone broth out of it. I took no photos as it was business.
Stumbled upon this place after being in the area and all I can say is wow… we had an incredible meal here with a cozy atmosphere and fantastic wine list. 10/10 would recommend and I will absolutely be back in the future!
Came in on a Wednesday night with a few girlfriends to try out the restaurant as part of restaurant week and celebrate a friend's birthday. From the moment we stepped in the door the service was impeccable. Stephen and George made sure that everything we could even think about was taken care of. A big shout out to Stephen, who went above and beyond the entire evening to make sure we had a great time. It's a beautiful restaurant, dimly lit and super romantic- equally perfect for a date night and a ladies dinner. The food was SO SO good. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
A classic, vintage, Italian restaurant that has been around for decades. Restaurants don’t last unless they’re good and this one delivered. The service was professional and polite without being pretentious. The servings were generous and impeccably prepared. Fun atmosphere for a family outing.
What a special place! We hosted a milestone birthday here for my great aunt, and from the very first email to the minute we walked out the door after the party, the service was impeccable. Alex and her husband Stephen make you feel like family. They made exceptional recommendations throughout planning, the party packages are a great value, the food was to die for, cocktails and wine were outstanding, and we are truly sad the event is behind us. We will be back (a lot). Highly recommend for anything from dinner with friends to a special occasion celebration!
So happy this restaurant is still here after COVID, as this was where my fiancé proposed a few years ago. If someone asked me for a romantic dinner recommendation, this place always comes up first in my head. The atmosphere is intimate and unassumingly elegant and the table service is unmatched. Everybody, from the maitre’d to the servers to the owners, is so genuinely thoughtful and welcoming, consistently checking in on the tables to make sure guests are comfortable and are enjoying the dining experience. Fiancé got the Bistecca and I got the Pumpkin Ravioli special. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our dressed-to-the-nines server, with the glasses and infectious smile, offered complementary sambuca with our cappuccinos and chocolate mousse at the end. The chocolate mousse was decadent and incredibly rich and the cappuccinos had the espresso to milk to foam ratio perfected. 10/10 in every aspect!
Great food, even better service. We just moved into the neighborhood and are so glad to have this gem literally around the corner. We chatted with the owners and they were super kind and offered a bottle of wine as a welcome gift.
This is a must experience. I had two incredible meals over two days and now I want to try everything on the menu. Frankly, I expected great food, which it was. The shining star here is the intimate atmosphere and the best service I have experienced in awhile. Simply amazing!
I had a lovely experience at Vila Berulia in NYC. The cozy atmosphere and authentic flavors instantly reminded me of home—I’m from Croatia, and this place brought back so many warm memories. The antipasto was fresh and flavorful, and our server Pedro was exceptional—kind, attentive, and made the whole evening even more enjoyable. A true hidden gem in the city!
There is something comforting and nice coming back to a place you were 17 years ago. This time with kids but the place didnt skip a beat. Amazing food, service and overall experience. Thank you for being amazing hosts once again.
Highly recommend this place! Their staff is highly trained and attentive. They went the extra mile in serving my family for our holiday dinner in NYC. The ambience was just perfect. And the food!! The food was soooo so good we all cleaned our plates and left very happy. 10/10 experience. Thank you guys for the great hospitality and delicious meal. It's no wonder this place has been in business for decades. A real NYC gem. Thanks!
Best local Italian restaurant - staff is so kind, food is exceptional. Killer wine list and bar, great for group and solo dining. Only bummer is they’re closed on Sunday and Monday
It has AMAZING food and AMAZING service the food deserves michelin stars!! would totally recommend!!!!
The food was really excellent and the service friendly and charming. One of the best pasta dishes I have eaten and also one of the best tiramisu
Excellent environment for families and business. Great food. Chef is very open to tailoring the dishes to specific needs - like in my case, I eat plant based whole foods and they made sure I had a good meal.
We hosted a group dinner and the food, space, and service was outstanding. The vibe is relaxed and polished. The staff was exceptionally attentive and each course was delicious. It is a family run business serving home-grown recipes. The fish was light and tasty, pasta perfectly cooked, and the osso buco tender, juicy and melt in your mouth good.
After five years in Florida, we returned last weekend to our favorite place and could not have had a more enjoyable evening. Thanks to all for the warm reception and for accommodating our young grandchildren. Fran and Frank McDonough
So glad we found this gem! Dinned here last night. Such a cute cozy place. The service was amazing, top notch! We enjoyed the food very much. Fantastic experience! They know what they are doing!
We were a group of 7. The food and service was top-notch. It was our first time eating here, we will definitely return.
Villa Berulia is New York City’s best local gem. The family that runs the restaurant truly cares about everyone who walks in so you really feel like you’re at home. They have great drinks, but the food is completely next level. I cannot recommend the Chicken Berulia enough as it is a life-changing experience and everyone needs to try it. I can’t go more than two weeks without it, it’s that good! Highly recommend!
Found myself dreaming of this place again & realized I forgot to leave a well deserved review. In short, my spouse and I reserved an evening here during a celebratory trip in the city. From the moment the door was opened for us, staff was welcoming with care start to finish, my first impressions being how beautifully dim with candle light our table was. Our appetizer, calamari, was perfectly cooked and crispy. We were practically drinking the marinara sauce! My spouse ordered an in house champagne and gave it good marks. I then received my tortellini and was floored. Simply the best I’ve ever had. Impeccable from-scratch mushroom sauce and pasta, as expected, but not at this level. Portion sizes were great (maybe too great, we barely waddled back to the hotel!). We were then convinced by two gentleman handling the dessert cart to get a pretty undersold “chocolate cake”, which ended up being a decadent mousse topped with sugar and drizzle. Overall, worth the money, time, and company to be here! The only thing I would suggest to the wait staff is to not constantly attend our water, especially when it’s a couple on a romantic date. A nice man came every five minutes or so and it was truly unnecessary. Regardless, we hope to be back!
We live in the neighborhood and go on a regular basis to this wonderful restaurant! We love the food- both the pasta and the fish are terrific! The staff is so incredibly friendly and attentive. And the atmosphere is so warm and inviting- it is like dining in someone's really nice home! We look forward to coming back soon!
We came from Long Island , and we have never experienced service like this before. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, but what truly made our night unforgettable was our waiter, Pedro. He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel completely at home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming — like you’re having dinner with family. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for amazing food, a cozy home-style vibe, and top-notch service. They truly make you feel like home! We will definitely be back!
Villa Berulia is an absolute gem. It feels like one of those classic New York City spots that just knows exactly how to treat its guests. Starter off with some incredible appetizers. The baked clams were tender and seasoned perfectly, and the fried calamari was spot on. The burrata was also a highlight, super fresh and creamy. For dinner, the kitchen really delivered. The veal dishes were outstanding, cooked perfectly tender. If you’re a fan of comfort food, the Chicken Parm is a must-order; it had that perfect balance of rich tomato sauce and melted mozzarella that makes you want to clean the plate. What really put the night over the top, though, was our waiter, Al. He is THE MAN, amazing from start to finish. He made us feel right at home, kept everything moving perfectly, and just had great energy. If you want a fantastic meal with top-tier service, you have to check this place out.
Last minute decision after a comedy show, did not disappoint! The Barzula and veal short ribs were absolutely amazing. We cleaned our plates! Didn't get a Caesar salad but I should've because I bet it's good! We had dessert and coffee, highly recommend the cappuccino and New York style cheesecake
Quite surprised by this almost hidden gem! The service- the SERVICE ❣️ and food were all so lovely. The food was incredible; I could have licked the plate. But really it's the environment and how everyone working there makes you feel welcome and "at home".
Had a wonderful evening celebrating a birthday here. The service was very attentive and everything was delicious. When it came time for dessert I was very pleasantly surprised when they brought a cake and sang happy birthday and remembered my name. We were very appreciative of the experience and will definitely be coming back highly recommend
Villa Berulia is the first restaurant I've gotten to try in my visit to New York and it was a great choice! I absolutely love how lowkey the entrance is, if you're not paying attention you may miss it. The inside is relaxed and intimate. Their wine selection was plentiful and precise, I really appreciate they put what type of wine each glass is instead of just "White wine, red wine, etc." Additionally, our food was delicious. Coming from Portland, I've been lucky to have so many amazing Italian restaurants in my neighborhood and Villa Berulia brought me right back to those restaurants with authentic, delicious pasta. The service was a standout as well. Attentive and friendly, and I appreciated how they allowed the table to eat and talk. I recommend!
Grabbed a last minute reservation here on a Saturday night and was blown away by the experience. Every single employee was incredibly gracious, kind, and helpful. The service was extraordinary. The food and drinks were all delicious and fairly affordable by NYC standards. The ambience was dark and quiet, a perfect place for an intimate dinner with family or friends. Cannot recommend enough!
Visiting New York from Hawaii! My family and I enjoy coming to eat, play, and shop. Villa Berulia is an Italian restaurant with a friendly family style atmosphere which we loved. The restaurant was clean and polished. The service was excellent! Pedro was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with the menu. They have a great selection on the menu and cocktails & wine. The food was well prepared, presented, & delicious! Steve, the Manager, came to our table and greeted us and thanked us for coming to Villa Berulia to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Overall, it was a wonderful experience all around! We will definitely come back here again on our next trip to NYC!❤️
1- Food = Excellent. 5/5. Everything from appetizers too deserts are all made with the finest ingredients and cooked to perfection. Very happy here. 2- Service = Excellent. 6/5. Their unparalleled service separates them from mostly every restaurant we have visited. Very friendly and inviting service that treats you like family. We never feel rushed and we are constantly being asked if everything is ok. Owners and everyone else here are very friendly and accommodating. 3- Ambiance = Excellent 5/5. Beautiful romantic environment. Tables are good size and there are plenty of unique pockets to this restaurant. Interesting layout. 4- Reservations = Excellent. 5/5. 5- Value = Excellent 5/5. Unparalleled service and amazing food. We will continue to Visit and recommend this amazing restaurant.
A Midtown classic, Villa Berulia never disappoints. I've been here a handful of times and the service and food have been second to none! This time around I came with my good friend and my godson for Friday dinner. We started off with a plate of fried calamari. It's probably the best calamari in town! As the main dish I had to get that night's special which was a lamb shank with a side of gnocchi. The meat fell off the bone, and the sauce was unbelievable! The icing on the cake was a nice complimentary glass of Limoncello and small cookies. A nice touch. Pro-tip: Villa Berulia is a great place for dinner or lunch before heading to a concert or sports event at MSG or before or after a visit to the Empire State Building!
What a discovery! A friend invited me to “drinks in the neighborhood” and it turned out to be Villa Berulia. Since I’m new to this part of the city, I wasn’t familiar with it, I’m sorry to say. But I CAN say that I am hooked. They have a sauce they use for the meatballs and more that’s out of this world. Only stayed long enough to taste a simple pizza, a plate of cocktail meatballs and a cheese and meat board. Each was delish and a step above most Italian places I’ve eaten at in the city. Great service and a family atmosphere (owned and operated by the same family for 42 years!) made it extra special. I can’t wait to return for a full meal — and another review.
Highly recommend!! I ate at a lot of places in nyc but this was probably my favorite. Maybe one of the best Italian dinners I have ever had. The service here was incredible everyone was so positive and helpful. They had the best service I have ever experienced in any restaurant! The food was incredible and everything tasted really fresh. The prices were reasonable for the great quality. The ambience was also very nice. If your nearby I definitely suggest making the trip!!
The atmosphere is intimate and elegant. The food was okay. My husband and I ordered the steak medium rare. Husband's was well done, and both had a dull taste. It had small tasteless sides. The wine was delicious, and our waiter was friendly, funny, and kind. Will try again, but I will definitely order something different.
Good pasta! Stopped in during restaurant week. It was very loud and a little hard to hear your own table, but also an testament to how good the food was because it was busy!
The service here was fantastic! The host was warm and welcoming. He came at the right times to check in on us, always with a smile. We ordered the seafood linguini and shrimp francese. Both were seasoned well. The seafood linguini had a good seafood-to-pasta ratio. The mariana sauce had a clean, clear taste while the shrimp francese had a delicious egg batter with a smooth white wine sauce. We enjoyed the tiramisu as well. The lady fingers were soaked the right amount in rum and the dessert had a perfect silky texture. The dishes were a little on the pricey side, but your get what you pay for :)
Gathered the girls for our traditional Restaurant Week Dinner. Naks was our first choice but they didn’t have any availability on Resy despite me checking it a week prior and every day of the week where it was supposed to have slots, no reply on emails nor Instagram either lol but I digress. Had to find another place last minute and a friend found this. We were encouraged by the good reviews so off we went to try last Friday. It was freezing as we know until this week. There was a proper coat check area which was quite nice. We were a group of 5 but were seated immediately despite waiting for 1 other friend. So that gesture was appreciated, even said, “we’re not that type of restaurant”. :) Al was the one who attended to us and he was friendly and warm. It was noticeable that the RW menu wasn’t presented first until we asked for it, it’s a common RW thing though but we’re familiar with the drill. The starters took the longest to serve, probably 30 to 40 mins but thank God we were distracted enough by our prosecco, wine, and cocktails. On to the food: most of us ordered clams as the starters and it was pretty good thankfully. The entrees took another 20 something minutes. Most of our friends paid the additional $25 each to get the NY Strip Steak while I stuck to the Chicken Marsala and another friend had the fish. I split my chicken with another friend and he gave half of his steak to me so we could both try it. In full transparency, the Chicken Marsala was the better dish as well as the fish versus the steak which was really fatty. I’d say stick to a proper traditional steak house if you want steak. But I will say that the Chicken entree was fantastic. Service was good from Al and the team but it felt like they probably were lacking staff that night. There was some running around from the staff and it was really felt that they were scrambling. However Al acknowledged it when we brought it up and we were gracious about it. At the end of the day, we knew they were trying their best and that’s what matters. Lastly the dessert offerings were tiramisu, ricotta cheesecake and chocolate mousse. We all ordered one of each and shared everything across. The clear winner was the tiramisu, the chocolate mousse was just okay and the ricotta cheesecake was dry and tasted lacking. Overall, we had a wonderful time, it’s truly the company that matters most anyway. But the staff and service were good and the entire restaurant was actually pretty spacious and the rest rooms were clean despite the fact that the restaurant was packed. Paid a total of $587.76 for a RW meal amounting to $45 for 3 courses but had $25 additional fees and an average of 2 drinks per person. Thanks Al and the team! Hopefully we’ll have another reason to come back again. :) P.S Thanks for the after dinner complimentary peach drink! It was a nice touch.
If you’re working in Midtown, this place is located well.. right next to Park Avenue where a lot of offices reside.. very tough to locate this from outside. The name boards outside are small and not striking.., The inside of the restaurant was great. Perfect and ideal for official meetings and get together.., the ambience is cozy and there are lots of tables inside to sit and eat . Service was OK. A pricey restaurant .. minimum vegetarian and vegan options but I’m glad that at least had it.. got her ravioli pasta vegan for about $30! It had tomato basil sauce on top and tasted good.. very pricey though.. other got fish and chicken dishes, which they liked. Cost them $35-$40 for a chicken or fish dish… Overall liked the food but it’s an upscale restaurant and not for all. Good experience . 4 stars . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you want to pay to be conveniently comfortable disregarding a true foodie experience , this is the place. It caught my attention after reading several reviews in TripAdvisor, over there people gush about their “outstanding service, delicious food and very reasonable prices for NYC”. I don’t know, I do t think they’ve eaten out in the city a lot because to me it rings like tourist talk, doesn’t it? Sometimes a place is just too… nice. I genuinely don’t think anyone eats here twice. I mean, if you wanted to, you’d go back to something real not this Midtown polished-to-a-shimmer joint. I don’t know… it was absolutely flat. Not worth the hype or expensive prices at all. The service was excellent and the ambience was nice. Too bad the food isn’t.
The restaurant has a nice mood and the staff are very friendly and nice. Specially in this neighborhood with smaller choices that is welcome. That said, the quality of food leaves something to be desired. They had a list of specials which was as long as the menu reducing the value of ""special". We got a stuffed fish special which was truly bland. The beet salad was nice. The rest of food was ok, nothing to write home about.
A traditional Italian place, classic dished done well. Was neglected a bit after entrees came out waiting to see the desert cart, getting and paying the bill. Waiter busy schoozing with the other tables instead of attending to our table causing meal to be 30 min. Longer. Good layout, lots of nooks creating much more privacy for tables. Clam casino is more bacon than clam, portions for veal marsala is quite small though the osso buco is delicious with tons of bone marrow.
At prime dinner time, this restaurant was too noisy for us. The walls seem to echo and we couldn't hear each other across the table. Service was attentive and food was good.
It's a big disappointment! We had dinner at this restaurant yesterday. I ordered seafood pasta for myself, and my girlfriend ordered baked salmon. The sauce in the salmon dish was delicious, but here the ge was baked and steamed, which ruined the whole dish. But at least it could be eaten. The pasta I ordered was not possible to eat at all! It didn't taste good, and the shells were washed well, so there was a lot of sand in the paste! I ended up leaving hungry and going somewhere else to eat. Wasted time and money!
