A great tapas bar with plenty of choices for anyone's taste. We had dinner there, took some options from vegetarian, meat and fish menu, some fries and a glass of great red wine recommended by kind member of stuff. Great and fast service. Would highly recommend as an option when in Budapest. Reservation is easy via their website.
Great Tapas and super service! Great oyster mushroom, spinach with bacon, duck with apple sauce, clams, fried green peppers. Chicken on skewers can give it a miss.
Not less than perfect! Never in my life I experienced such service, Loved every second in this place
The food was amazing and the service was great. We had a perfect experience!
This place looks impressive. It does give off a very high dining kind of feel to it. The staff are also very polite. The menu can be a bit overwhelming. Well, at least to us. We start to ask the waiter for suggestions. He suggested the steak, oh boy, he was so right on how good that steak was. It was cooked to perfection. We also got a plate of cheese range from 10-150 days old. Each slice taste different and amazing. We got many different side orders too. All food dishes were prepared nicely. Everything is just tasty. If I am ever back to Budapest, I will be dinning here much more often. Great food!
This restaurant is now one of my favourite places in Budapest! Our waiter was so kind. Great service , amazing food and wines. Also a lot a vegetarian options! Pleasantly surprised.
Please try to eat goose liver duo. It's really fantastic. I can say it's the best food in Europe... In case of sirloin, I feel it's a bit tough for me. I will visit again at my birthday with my family members. In case of tiger prawn, they need to remove innards(black ones at inside prawn). Because of innards, I chew gritty(feel sandy)
We had a really good time last night. Delicious food, pleasant and polite service, Everything was perfect. It was an unforgettable happy time with my family. (ATTELA, thank you very much for being kind and pleasant to my son. Your manner made the dinner perfect.)
If you want a lovely night with amazing food, go for it! If you can ask for Ákos, go for him, he made our anniversary more unforgettable.
Had a great dinner there. Extensive selection of tapas. Tried 8 different ones and they were good. My favorites were the croquetas, the solomillo de cerdo and the entrecot de ternera (although I wished there was more steak). The waiters were professional. Overall a good experience.
Great place with even better food. Interior of the restaurant is stunning. Staff is very nice, and speaks English. They don’t mind if you have extra wishes when ordering. The menu is fairly small but there’s something for everyone. I had the Iberian pork neck with a side of creamy garlic spinach with Spanish ham. Both dishes were absolutely mouthwatering! The meat was grilled perfectly, little mid pink in the middle, crispy and slightly charred fat. The spinach was amazing. Never had such good spinach to be honest. We also got fresh bread and a couple oils as a complementary dish. I had a nice fruit lemonade which was made with freshly cut fruit on the spot. Definitely worth the price! Highly recommend.
Cozy Spanish style restaurant with great service and wide menu that will satisfy each and every visitor. Came here with a veggie friend that didn't regret and enjoy as well a lot
Incredible place. One of my new favorites in Budapest. Loved the tapas, especially the creamy spinach, and the ribeye steak did not disappoint. Try the wine we had. Excellent!
Lovely atmosphere, contemporary and classy. Excellent service, it’s so nice to have this level of professional service! Very amusing. Best clams ever, the sauce was divine!!! Also side pimiento piquillo. Very much recommended
Absolutely delicious! High quality Spanish food! I can't recommend this restaurant enough... must try for yourself!
Slightly pricey but worth it! Been here twice now 😊 Delicious Spanish tapas, meats & seafood.
Pretty awesome restaurant. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was very tasty. I'll definitely recommend this place. It has a cozy yet classy atmosphere.
I highly recommend this Spanish Restaurant to everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, service (the waiter Akos was very attentive together with the rest of staff), and the elegant and cosy atmosphere. I am from Spain although I live in the UK, and I don't tend to eat in Spanish Restaurants abroad because I generally don't find them very authentic, but l found this place to be very nice. Overall, a very nice gastro experience.
We celebrated our 2y anniversary at this restaurant and it was a complete blast! Tasty food (shot out to the croquetas), good music and environment and excellent service from the staff (rare for Budapest standards). Would definitely recommend.
We had such a great time at Patta Negra! The tapas were absolutely amazing – full of flavor and the perfect way to start the meal. For the main, we tried the steak and it was cooked exactly the way we ordered it – tender, juicy, and full of taste. The salmon was also lovely, though the red sauce on the side wasn’t quite our favorite, but that’s just personal taste. What really stood out (besides the food) was the service. The waitresses were super friendly, attentive, and made the whole evening even more enjoyable. You can really feel they care about their guests having a good experience. All in all, a fantastic night with delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, and great service. Definitely a place we’d come back to for another round of tapas and good vibes!
I had a really good experience here. The the waiter recommended is fantastic wine based on my criteria. The menu is very thorough. It has so many options and the meat was cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed the dessert and I believe they take the time to put some thought into their dishes highly recommend this restaurant.
Pata Negra Asador Tapas & Steak has the best Spanish Tapas and service in Budapest! We had a wonderful time visiting friends and tried a lot of great dishes and wines. Their service was great and the food was absolutely amazing. We’d highly recommend them will go back again. Thank you for making our visit very memorable.
We booked a table in advance and almost didnt get a reservation. We were sceptical at first but when we hot there we understood why we almost didnt get a table, the music was good and the whole vibe of the place was perfect. The food was insane and we got to try so maby different things. The service was so kind and even though there were many people it was really fast. Price was also ok. Because we booked a table we didnt need to wait al but if you dont book one in advance you might not get one. Overall 10/10 expirience😃😃😃😃😃
This was a social media recommendation. 100% worth it!! Spanish meatballs were perfectly cooked and the marinara sauce was delicious. steak cooked to perfection - medium rare - beautiful chimichurri sauce in the squid and the steak. My only criticism is that there wasn’t enough of the potatoes with the steak. Service was fantastic and prompt. No criticisms there. Would eat here again if I could!
We had a family dinner here and everything was amazing! The service was complete. Shout out to Norby who made the kids so happy. The food was flawless. We loved every single dish. Some of the favorites were the baby clams, the pulpo gallega and the goat cheese with figs, but everything was great. We got nice wine paired with it and a tasty dessert wine for the postres. Thank you for a superb experience!
Guys, what are you even doing?! This is insanely good, we were honestly thrilled. Two duck dishes and a salad with sheep cheese that literally melts in your mouth. You are a true hidden gem
We were a group of 3 and one is vegetarian. The food was superb. Good selection of tapas and portions. We ate many different things and everything was on point. King prawns were super fresh and yummy like everything else. The price is adequate for the food quality. Sangria was also very good. Very attentive staff and a good environment. Thank you all xx
Authentic Spanish tapas restaurant with elegant dining atmosphere. Everything we had was delicious. The garlic spinach with Serrano ham, the sautéed garlic shrimps and the duck breast with fried apple were exceptional. It is unfortunate that the steak was a bit tough/ chewy for us, so I’d recommend to stick with their tapas dishes for a 100% satisfactory experience. The waiter was really polite and friendly, it’s so nice to have this level of professional service. The prices are high still worth going if you love tapas as it’s the best in Budapest!🥬🦐
10/10 place. Very tasty, the atmosphere is good, service is great. Delicious spanish cousine in Budapest. Lamb with the purée is chefs kiss
Beautiful place, delicious food and the greatest staff any restaurant can ask for. We are recurring guests and will stay to be.
Amazing place with incredible food. Feels like being in Spain. Highly suggested. Olives are a MUST to try. 🤩
Very good place for Spanish food. We went for tapas and desert and we would repeat it. Also the service was really good so totally recommended.
Simply super! We were four adults and a one year old baby. Service was high class and the food was delicious!
The place is great! Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, lovely staff! First the food, it was excellent. We basically liked everything, some things come down to taste, but the quality of the food was definitely very good. The portion sizes were larger than we expected and everything looked exactly like other pictures posted by people, which to me shows consistency. The waiter was also incredibly friendly and attentive. The atmosphere fits the food very well. It's reasonably priced compared to other restaurants.
It’s a nice place, even though I found it a bit noisy. The staff is professional and they all speak English.
Had a quick dinner here with a few friends. We ordered a selection of tapas. Everything was delicious especially the scallops is cava sauce.. except for the patatas bravas which were dry and mediocre and the padron peppers left much to be desired unfortunately. Service was good.
Steak was not as soft as we wanted. We found some cartilage in antricote. The rest of the dishes were very tasty, like tartar with tuna, creme brulee, and chocolate mousse. The waiter was very nice and even did for me mojito with cucumber, although it wasn't in the menu Our bill was around 30,000 ft for 2 persons
we went there on our anniversary. they saw I had flowers so immidetly they brought a vase. the staff was friendly explaining the specials and answering our questions. since we went there a little early we recieved our food very fast. not sure how this is when the place is crowded. the ambiance is very nice and the food was amaizing. it is not cheap but for special occasions it is a great place to go
Food was excellent and the waiter serving us was really polite and friendly. Our only issue was the loud music which really ruins the elegant atmosphere the place wants to achieve and it was quite unpleasant that we had to shout the entire evening if we wanted to hear each other. It is also unfortunate that the restaurant does not offer any locally sourced Hungarian wines which are just as good if not better in quality and could cost one third or half than the Spanish wines which are offered at London prices. Would have given 5 stars if the music wasn’t so loud as in a cheap pub (our waiter tried to lower the volume 3 times, but his colleagues kept turning it back on louder, which is a shame).
Not bad, prices a bit high, but quality is good. No necessity to add sauce to steak ribay.
Tapas restaurant, small dishes, most of what we ordered was really good, some were mediocre. Overall a good experience. The sheep cheese salad with mango sauce and spinach salad were excellent, tabula salad was just bad. Prices are reasonable.
We had a great experience here, especially with their steaks – the meat was incredibly soft, juicy, and full of flavor. Definitely recommended! We also tried the combo cheese platter, and the sheep cheese stood out as a highlight. For dessert, we had the Catalan cream and cheesecake. The Catalan cream, similar to crème brûlée but with a refreshing orange twist, was delightful, while the cheesecake offered a unique take on the classic dessert. The only downside was that the staff didn’t come across as very friendly, but overall, the food, especially the steak, made it a memorable experience.
The food was excellent and the waiter serving us was really polite and friendly. Elegant dining atmosphere I believe most people are here to have a nice evening chat with their friends, family or spouses while drinking some wine and eating appetizers. The main dishes aren't outstanding but the appetizers are amazing. Not easy to find a parking near by , taking the taxi or walk to here is the best way. Very nice 8/10
Nice spacious place, great service - quick, attentive. We had variety of tapas, however it was very mild / flat in taste, eg mushrooms with garlic seemed to miss garlic completely and required salt as well. Good olives, ham, choriso but those are relatively easy to buy&eat without need to go out to a restaurant. Well, I miss tapas in Spain. Crema catalana was nice, not too sweet and very crunchy topping.
Good experience; very good tapas but not very happy about the quality of the t-bone ; amazing service
We ordered the cheese ice creams for dessert that has no gluten sign next to it. When it came out we realize it had some crunchy bread around but we started eating since the icecream was melting plus we ordered a gluten free bread before which made us think that surely they would not give us gluten. But I wanted to be certain so I asked a waiter when i got theri attention. It took some time to get the answer and we ate most of it when we learned that it was actually normal bread so I don’t understand why this is a no gluten item on their menu. They asked if we want a no gluten version which we declined. The food was good but nothing that would make me want to come back after this.
Went there for dinner with my partner. The food was great and the service was professional. The price is quite steep however, but we expected that. What we did not expect is that the price includes a 15% service fee markup, which is already significant at 20000Ft / person, and on top of that, the restaurant had the nerve to ask for tips. The tipping culture in Hungary is getting out of hand. Tips were meant to be a way of expressing your satisfaction with the service by paying some extra on top for the staff. Most restaurants nowadays include that on the bill, but I have never heard of 'service fee' and tips together, especially that you are, in a way, coerced to give some as you need to select a percentage on a tablet with the waiters breathing down your neck. When I told the waiter that the tip was already included in the receipt, they explained that they are not the same, but I could see they were uncomfortable answering that. I don't blame them, I blame the restaurant. This really left us with a bittersweet feeling after an otherwise very enjoyable evening.
As a spaniard, I cannot give the seal of approval to this place. This looks more like a franchise that somewhat imitates spanish food than actual spanish flavors. It's not that the food was bad, it was just not spanish food. For example, I ordered "pollo al ajillo", and instead of being cooked in olive oil as it should, it was rapeseed oil. Something unforgivable, as olive oil is the staple of spanish cuissine. Another thing I ordered was pork with manchego chese. Instead it was ordinary grated cheese slightly molten over the meat. That was not manchego. The plate of foie was full of white sugar. All that white stuff that you see on the pictures is sugar. Never in my life had I seen something like that. If in spain you bring a plate of any animal product surrounded by a stack of sugar, they will probably ask you to take it back. The music was loud, mostly spanish pop from 20 years ago. So as a lot of other spanish customers are saying, this is not good if you want spanish food. To me it felt like a tourist trap. Was it bad or horrible? No. Food tasted ok. But for the price there are much better options in the area.
The meals were literally unsatisfied. I've never experienced that salty melas in my life. DON'T EVEN TRY AN ANCHOVY DISH IN THIS RESTAURANT. Since I had the meal, I was supoosed to wash my mouth with clean water because of salty taste. Plus, meatballs were salty too. Even my Hungarian friend hated those. However, salad was good.
Service was great, interior looks nice, HOWEVER we received a raw chicken. It was pink inside, you could see the blood. After we sent it back for them to cook it, we just got back the same exact chicken, not even heated more than it was before. The waiter removed it from our bill and explain that it was cooked in the sous vide before the grill, but I still don't understand why they didn't put it back on the grill for another couple of minutes. So very rude as well. The lamb chops were really thin and with a lot of fat. The burger was OK though.
