Food was delicious, although I was particularly surprised by my drink (Strawberry kiwi lemonade)! I’d have had a whole pitcher if I could. Jonathan was an amazing server! Kept my drinks topped up, was very communicative (even told us when he was going on his break and introduced us to the server that was covering for him before he left), made sure we always had everything we needed or wanted and was super kind and engaging while doing it! Only my second time at an Outback and it was the kind of experience you always hope to have!
Jonathan was our waiter and gave us tons of pointerss with the menu we had no idea outback even carried. Would love to have him serve us again over and over. Pleased 😃
This Outback location truly shines above all the others I have visited, and a major reason for that is due to the outstanding service of Alissa. She gave great recommendations, was patient with all of our questions, and was an absolute joy to talk to. Our food sure didn’t disappoint either. My ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. Next time you’re here, be sure to try their loaded mashed potatoes, and their Tasmanian chili. My girlfriend enjoyed a delicious Jamison cream soda, and I had the the bloomin blonde beer, and both were great selections. We can’t wait for our next visit, and we sure hope Alissa is working!

My server Jonathan today on 2/13/26 was the best server me and my girlfriend could ask for today. We decided to celebrate a Valentine’s Day dinner tonight and his service and hospitality made it all that better. Best server we could ask for. The food came out quick, hot, and ready to eat and amazing.
Jonathan at the Outback in Buena Park was outstanding. Even though the kitchen was backed up and clearly busy, he never let it show in his service. He stayed attentive, checked in on us consistently, kept us informed, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. His professionalism, positive attitude, and genuine care turned what could’ve been a frustrating wait into a great dining experience. Customer service like that makes all the difference, huge shoutout to Jonathan for going above and beyond. 👏🥩
The service was fantastic especially from my server, Jonathan. He would frequently check on my table and offered refills. He offered suggestions for the menu and took time to explain the menu items. The food was delicious especially the well done sirloin steak. Free bread with butter is offered. Jonathan offered to refill my bread. Furthermore, he offered me steak and hot sauce. This was actually my first visit to Outback Steakhouse and obviously an excellent experience. I will come back and visit! A+ especially my server, Jonathan!
I loved my experience here. The atmosphere was great, and the food was great as well. It was so good, we couldn’t stop eating. I had a filet mignon with a baked potato that was perfectly cooked and delicious. Our waiter, Jonathan, was so friendly and attentive. His service was great as always! We also spoke to another waiter, Steven, who was funny and conversational. He looked like Steve Harrington from Stranger Things, which we mentioned to him. It was an amazing experience and I 100% recommend coming here.

1st experience here and had such a great experience, i definitely will come back again. I had the perfect server who was attentive enough to make sure our needs were met, never disapeared for long period of times, nor appeared too much. The margarita was great!
My server Jonathan was the reason why our visit was so great! He made sure our table was well attended. He ensured drinks were always filled and he got our orders spot on, a perfect medium rare for both steaks! He was very kind and super helpful with letting us know how the menu works! Our entire family had christmas eve dinner at the Buena Park location. We called ahead to get on the wait list. By the time we arrived, we were seated immediately. Our waiter, Jonathan absolutely killed it. It has been a long time since we had a waiter who anticipated our needs. We were very well taken care of. Food came out quickly. The kids burgers were a little undercooked but not enough to send back. The steak was on point. Overall, it was a great experience.
The beer and cocktails were great. Unfortunately, both steaks weren’t cooked to the right doneness. It also took a while for the food to come out. We did decide to let the kitchen know but we chose to just eat the steak as-is. The server and the manager did want to make things right. I hate to tarnish the name of a restaurant based off of one experience but after what I experienced last night I just wasn’t ok not saying anything… If I could give a no star rating I would, but sadly that is not the case. This was my first visit and most likely my last visit. First off I didn’t know what to expect as I was aware this was a last minute decision to have dinner out with my fiancé on New Years Eve with no reservation, (poor planning on my part ). I knew we might have to wait as it was a holiday so when The kind soft spoken hostess quoted us a 30 min wait, we accepted our fate. She did ensured us the wait had been going by faster so we saw a small glimps of hope for the night. As we waited for our table we sat in the bar for a celebratory cocktail, but let’s just say that’s not the place to sit if you’re looking for good old fashion quality customer service. After sitting at the bar for an additional 10 min we were then greeted by a green haired server who didn’t seem too happy to be there for the evening. Of course we tried being understanding on the idea that no one wanting to work on a holiday but couldn’t look past how phased she seemed just being there. I like to think the younger generation just has different work ethics but she seemed old enough to understand the difference between having a bad day and being unprofessional in their workspace. After getting our drink order in we then watched the night get worst as she seemed to have issues with her team since she was complaining loud about them in a public setting and even scold another server in front of customers. To try to save the night we closed up after our drinks and told our server our table was ready just to avoid any conflict, when in reality the whole experience was just so off putting we left and took our name off the wait list. Thankfully there were other restaurants close by to save our New Years Eve. I guess to this day I will not know what the big fuss about that Onion Bloom.
Only gave 2 stars because the waiter was really attentive and apologized for all of the issues. Chicken Cobb salad only had lettuce 1 halved tomato and cheese. The chicken was dried out strips that were too tough to eat. My daughter stopped me from eating a bite with hair. The wings tasted 3 days past their prime. My daughter’s grilled chicken Cesar salad came out without chicken. Manager apologetic and removed the cost of the “Cobb” salad but not coming back here.
Got my baked potato fixings but they gave me a piece of soggy bread in with my meal instead of a potato. Steak was so terribly cooked and such low quality I can't cut through it with my to-go cutlery. So instead I'm knawing on it like a caveman. Don't waste your money here and just go to Black Angus instead
I work nearby and started getting lunch here a few yrs back after all the Covid issues and Outback started curbside. Never and issue till a few months ago….not sure if they have a new manager or what, cause the service and food used to be stellar. I few months ago there was an issue where I drove up (usually they’re are out in minuets, there is no check in they monitor with a camera) after about 10 mins waiting I called, no answer. I waited a few mins and tried again…still no answer. Finally I went in and literally was ignored for another 10 mins…finally I raised my voice a bit and a manager came over and really curtly said, “our hostess called out” and handed me my food. She was SO rude! Since I had always had good service I decided to try again today…only this time I didn’t wait so long. I tried calling after a 5 mins waiting and when no one answered I went in immediately. A young woman gave me my food and apologized when I told her I was waiting and no one came out and again no one answered the phone. I told her what happened the last time and again all I got was “sorry”. I go back to my office and was so disgusted when I opened my food…I enclosed a photo…I didn’t order feathers with my wings….I will never return to this outback again
Outback Steakhouse – Where Waiting Lists Magically Delete Themselves What a delightful way to spend a special family occasion! around 4:40 p.m., my family and I walked into Outback, expecting nothing more outrageous than a Bloomin’ Onion. Silly us. We were told by Edena—the gatekeeper of tables—that it would be 10–15 minutes. Fair enough. We sat. We waited. Two parties ahead of us. Easy math. But apparently, Outback runs on some very creative arithmetic. Twenty minutes later, guests who arrived after us were escorted in. Curious, I asked Edena when it might be our turn. “Next,” she said, with all the sincerity of a used-car salesman. Spoiler: “next” did not, in fact, mean next. More parties came. More parties went. I asked again. Same answer. Still no table. Then came the pièce de résistance: a sweet elderly couple arrived long after us, and magically, they were whisked away to a table while my family continued decorating the lobby chairs. When I confronted Edena and her partner in service excellence, Serenity, I was told some tables were “reservations” (never mind the multiple two-tops I watched walk right in). Then, the big reveal: our name had somehow vanished from the list. How convenient. Fifty minutes of waiting. Two separate assurances of “next.” Ten groups seated before us. And the only Asian family in the restaurant mysteriously “lost” from the list. Surely just a coincidence, right? Especially since Edena and Serenity found time to glance over, whisper, and smirk in between seating everyone else. When I asked if this was racism, Serenity looked at me like I’d just asked if the steak comes with steak. “What?” was all she could manage. Indeed, what. So here’s what: Outback, you’ve managed to take my family’s special day and turn it into a masterclass in how to alienate paying customers. Congratulations. Clearly, training on handling waiting lists—or, say, basic human decency—isn’t in the handbook. I don’t expect my post to bring sweeping reform to your chain. But as a Californian and as an American, I feel compelled to let other Asian families know: if you walk into this Outback, don’t be surprised if you walk right back out. Thanks, Serenity & Edena. Your teamwork ensured that you’ll never see me or my money again.
