This place exemplifies what Buffalo is about. It's off the beaten path. Out of the way from the hustle & bustle. Unsuspecting. Old school. May not be trendy but you'll have a fun time! I've enjoyed the outdoor patio which came bundled with an interesting karaoke experience. I most recently went for music Bingo and DJ Trivia which happens every Wednesday night and brings in quite a crowd. Winner gets $ towards a bar tab for the following week. The clientele is diverse and everyone is friendly. A woman at the bar complimented my t-shirt. This article of clothing is a Billabong shirt I've had since high school. It's 10+ years old and doesn't deserve a compliment but I was in the presence of friendly Buffalo folk. Beer is cold and won't cost you an arm & leg. Easily the most underrated wings in Buffalo. Plump, flavorful and cooked perfectly. A little dryer than most wings joints. Think of it as the anti-Duffs. CPG forever...

I've been going to this bar to listen to live music for over 30 years, the place still has top quality beer and a friendly atmosphere, and good music. But no Johnny James is a bad thing

We ordered for the first time wings. My BFF told me that CPG had good wings. What she should have told me CPG had 'great' wings. I don't understand how y'all like Anchor Bar or Duff's, but to each his own. I'm officially a CPG gal.

Brings back great memories. Went to UB '78-'82 and CPG was our home away from home. I visit there every time I wind up in Buffalo. Saw some great bands there. They had great wings back then, they're even better now. I've been all over the country and CPG is on my top 10 list of rock/neighborhood/sports/legacy bars in the country. Great to see young people enjoying the same place that I had so much fun at back in the day.

Nice bar, great patio seating. But the best part is the food. Highly recommend the chicken finger sandwich. Their home made blue cheese is probably the best homemade blue cheese you can get in buffalo.

We didn't have the opportunity to eat because the orders were backed up about 90 minutes. But the drinks were good & the band (Damone Jackson Outcome) was awesome!

Great food and atmosphere, mixed with great service. Treating our son to real wings during his break in training with the Army for the holidays, he was very happy. They even surprised with a veterans discount for my son, which was not expected but very much appreciated. It is establishments like this that makes us happy to be living in Western NY!

We go here Wednesdays for DJ Trivia and it's great. Solid food and drink and everyone is super friendly. Chicken fingers, wings, and french fries are very good.

Fish fry is big enough for two. Everything was super fresh. The cracker breading was well seasoned and my new preferred way of enjoying this WNY staple. The macaroni salad could of used a bit more seasoning but it was soooo good. If you are a dipper- order a side of blue cheese for your fries. HOUSE MADE!

It was a very friendly place with excellent staff that were very inviting and attentive we dined in for lunch and cocktails ordered hot wings that were made pretty much right in front of us which arrived piping hot! I will most definitely return to visit them again.

So here's the thing about CPG. It's real. Real patrons. Real staff. Real regulars. We don't go often but always look forward to it when we do go. Sure, the menu is limited, but what they make, they make right! Grateful CPG has been a surviving staple in Buffalo for so long!

I called CPG to order a Ruben sandwich to go , was pleasantly answered and promised a quick pick up . I arrived a few minutes early , but my sandwich was ready a few minutes later . BTW , it was delicious 😋 . I will definitely order lunch there again .

Cool old bar that was once a supermarket with a speakeasy during prohibition. Bathrooms are tiny, with a dentist spit sink to wash your hands in, but it adds to the vibe. YOU MUST TRY THE REUBEN QUESADILLA! IT IS AMAZING!

My husband and I went out to eat here on Friday to try their fish fry and it was excellent. The breading was unique and crispy and it didn’t taste like it was old gross fryer oil. The bar attendant was friendly and attentive. It’s a somewhat small place, I don’t believe their is actual waitresses, just order at the bar and they’ll bring you the food if you’re at a table. Overall a decent place for bar food with a great fish fry.

My Absolute Favorite Spot for Wings when My husband and I visit Buffalo! When we go back home to Maryland we refuse to eat "Buffalo Wings" there because it doesn't taste like those legendary Gold wings at Central Park! This place is awesome! BUT it closes at 10 p.m. NOT late night. Google hasn't updated the information and the menu isn't even the same. But if you call or go in before 9:30 p.m. they will serve you right!

Tuesday is a great day to go. The band is amazing. $5 cover and $5 drinks. Also their bathroom was so clean!

The bartender was very attentive and such a sweetie. The ladies room was clean ( always a big plus). The beer was cold and my friends enjoyed their French fries. There was enjoyable live music too.

Wedges were great. Pizza logs equally good. Burger was a bit small but was tasty. Definitely great place if you want done good eats and not break the bank.

Wings were really good. Great size and quality. Their house made bleu cheese I great as well. Generous portion of fries too. I will order from there again.

This place was really cool. They have a large bar area. A back room with a bunch of tables and a swanky side porch/patio that's awesome in nice weather. Parking can be a little rough if they get busy but this is a great spot for a beer.

Nice relaxing background music, couple Zeppelin covers along with some Don McLean. Good variety of local craft beers. Great wings if you're hungry.

This has become one of my favorite venues in the city for live music. The upstairs is very intimate with good sound for bands, the patio is well thought out allowing you to watch the performance and still have a conversation. The limited menu is done well, and wings are quite solid. Drinks are average priced for downtown, but are not under-poured like most places with music. Parking can be a hassle, so arrive early so you don't end up 5 blocks away.

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to have an authentic Buffalo experience so we stopped in for the wings and fish fry and they did NOT disappoint! We had the whole experience including live music and locals yelling at each other about sports 😆 Everything was flavorful and delicious and the fish, fries and wings were fried to absolute perfection 🤌🏼💋You should absolutely stop in if you’re looking for something local and worth your money!

Didn't like the fact that you had to get up and go to the bar to drag your own drinks back to the table - there are no waitresses. However, that Reuben quesadilla, we returned for three different times in the same week. It's got a decent atmosphere.

Bartender was friendly, did not order any food. Although a band was coming in to play later this evening. Wish I was able to stay.

The services is slow.. but it was busy. Haven't had the food, so I can't comment on that. Atmosphere was ok.. kinda crowded without many seating options. meh..

Still one of Buffalo's best kept secrets, the CPG has great food, and a comfy atmosphere. Not much to look at from the outside, once you enter it's surprising how much space is available including a dining/music area a few stairs, and deck outside. The Friday Fish Fry is not to be missed (my fav is the breaded haddock), especially is there is live music. Nice selection of beers too. This is the kind of place where the band mingles with their friends/audience between sets, friendly people. Burgers are a bargain too. Many Parkside neighborhood locals consider the CPG their Home Bar.

I went on a Friday around 530pm and it was pretty empty which I liked. Sat at the bar and had a drink, everyone was pleasant. They have tables but when you sit at them nobody came to take our order. Went back to the bar ans places an order for fried fish dinner. Not sure why I expected fresh fish but it wasn't it was frozen which was disappointing. The food was just ok.

I have frequented cpg for years especially when I was working next door in 2021. My coworkers and I came almost every day for lunch. Amanda was the best server and Dylan is the best cook! Now things are different and I don’t really like it. Everything has an up charge. I was there today ordered a few vodka and red bull and was charged an extra 2.00 for red bull in every drink even though one can of red bull was used for my three drinks. That’s more than a normal sized Red Bull in the store. This wasn’t the first time my drinks cost 5 dollars more than usual. This has been going on for a few months. I called and complained Justin said I could get a free drink for the upcharge because it was a mistake. When I went back the following week he didn’t remember that we spoke and didn’t honor his promise. This time when I went My food wasn’t good the grease definitely needed to be changed. Idk if there is new management in town or what but I won’t be back.

Man in the front refused to let me in. I wonder why 🧐. When I called to order for pick up, a day later, I was told I can only dine in. Lady on the phone was rude and short. I just wanted to eat some food and not travel a long distance. I’m giving two stars because I tasted the wings from a coworker and they were decent. They tasted undercooked, quite frankly.

Went in, had to find our own seat, then was told by the bar tender, there are no servers, you have to order with him, and come get it when ready. We didn't bother staying. Left and went somewhere else.

The wings were DISGUSTING I’ve felt so sick and nauseous ever since. Food took over an hour and when we told them we were in a rush and needed to leave, they turned up the heat to serve us faster and it wasn’t cooked or seasoned properly. The wings were rubbery, dry, and tasted like hay.. NOT WORTH THE $50, better to buy frozen ones and cook them at home

Service was slow, waitress was rude and may be suffering from substance abuse and or mental health issues. I know it's a bar but using a broom and a rag once in awhile wouldn't hurt. Drinks were weak, food was tasteless. Would recommend to an enemy, will never go back.

Racial undertones with bartender Liz only. Refuses to service black customers ***on more than one occasion*** EXTREMELY confrontational, hostile. Drinks on the job. All other staff is GREAT Liz is terrible and the management is aware therefore I can’t go back. Third confrontation with African Americans when they questioned her about her refusal of service or REPEATEDLY asking for ID for each drink

Showed up a couple weeks before Lent on a friday for a fish fry and they were out of fish by 6:30p. Showed up the next Friday at 6pm and they had just closed the kitchen?? Not worth the drive there if they are either out of food or closing the kitchen early.

50 minutes after arriving we still had not gotten food, so we let them know that if we didn't get our food in ten minutes we would have to leave as we had meetings we had to get to. The result was that I am presuming they rushed through cooking our wings, because they quickly brought out the most dry chicken wings I have ever eaten. They were genuinely the worst chicken wings I have ever had in my life. I would avoid going to this bar if interested in getting food.

Ordered the fried veggies and a veggie quesadilla. Both were terrible!...not prepared well! Tasteless. It wasn't worth the money!

The server/bartender was extremely rude! When the food came out after 25 minutes I told her that was a long time. She told me McDonald’s is just up the street and what did I expect from a dive bar with one cook. When I paid I told her she was very rude and she said I was rude. I have never been treated like that ever, the food was average at best m.
