Always good here. Food, service, and atmosphere are on par. Very busy on weekend nights with average wait around 45 min. For a table. Usually can find a couple of seats at the bar if you're lucky. Service is quick and easy. Great mixed drinks and Buffalo chicken Mac & cheese is so good! : )
Thank you, Luis, for such amazing customer service. ✨ My husband and I come to this restaurant often, and as usual, the experience was very good. This time we were served by Luis, a Dominican server who we really liked — super friendly, attentive, and with great energy. He definitely made the experience even better. The food was delicious and the service overall was excellent. Just as a constructive note, one of the main reasons I always come back is because I love the Tavern House sangria, but this time it tasted a bit different and sweeter than usual, so it wasn’t my favorite. Other than that, everything was excellent and we will definitely keep coming back.
The Tavern in the Square was amazing the food was very good the atmosphere was energetic. Our host Nya it was one of the most amazing waitresses I've had we definitely recommend this place and we'll come back
The food was fantastic and I love how everyone there is very conscientious of food allergies. Will definitely be back!
I really wasn't expecting to have enjoyed my meal as much as I did. I used to go to the Tavern in Allston, and it was always just a bar with alright food. That locations been gone for a while. My partner brought me to this location and we were seated right away. The waitress was quick to greet us and take our order. She got us a refil even before we had to ask. On top of it. We got the whipped feta. It needed a lot more pita than what was given. It came with a pepper jam. It needed a few dollops more of that jam. Way too salty otherwise. He got the korean chicken sandwich and said it was really good. I tried a bite, it was really well balanced in flavor with the salty and the sweet. Nice crunch with a sticky sauce. I got the steak salad. The steak was cooked perfectly and the salad was dressed well. The steak was actually very flavorful too. Just keep in mind, it is a BIG salad. Took half home for the next day. It may now be my favorite salad.
Best tavern in town. I really enjoyed hanging out with my friends. The food is so delicious, and the beverages are mouthwatering. Really loved the budweiser and cool light beer. I would recommend you to order the nachos and pizza, the portion is so big. There are also clean restrooms. The waitresses are kind and friendly. There are plenty parking lots near the tavern.
Went there with a large group for a work lunch. Food came out quick and was hot, all of it was as ordered and delivered at the same time which was impressive. Appetizers were good and so were the meals. The menu did say that you could sub a turkey burger for a regular burger but they did away with turkey burgers awhile ago, they should sharpie that off the menu.
Loved the tacos here. I'm glad it was 3 and not two. They offered salad in place of beans. Feels like a good choice for lunch! The wait staff was first class splitting a bill for 9 people on what they ordered. Equity on a group can be a challenge and the service exceeded my expectations. The food was tasty and very enjoyable. My drink was never empty.
The food and atmosphere were great. The Nachos was one of the best I ever had! They fried my broccoli in my General Tso which was different.. unhealthy but super delicious. It was quite busy the day I went and I knew I had to make reservation. Unfortunately I had to go in-person to put my name on the list, but even then the wait wasn’t too bad.
Awesome food, service, & atmosphere! The outdoor dining patio is so nice - there are TVs & it is covered. Lots of plant decor - atmosphere is very light & airy. Came here with friends for some cocktails & appetizers - we left feeling very satisfied! Highly recommend the fried pickles, chicken fingers, & tots. All are super crispy & have great breading!
Great menu. Good food. Cool Atmosphere. Service is good with special Attention to dietary restrictions. Above and beyond. Never a disappointment. And if you’re lucky… you may find yourself taking a pic of the Easter bunny !!
Just had an amazing dinner on the patio with friends at Tavern in the Square, Burlington. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and this ahi tuna bowl was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. 🌿🍚 Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a scratch kitchen with top-notch allergy accommodations. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and the service was stellar from start to finish. Will definitely be back!
We ordered the fried pickle chips (could be served with more sauce), and Mac and cheese (one with crispy chicken, one with buffalo chicken). I didn’t even have to ask for soda refill, staff was super nice
I go here with a friend and this is our 2nd time here because it was good last time too. The menu changes a bit from time to time so don't be too attached to any dish. Wished they had more options for me because there were so many spicy items on the menu the 2nd time, I didn't have many choices along with my seafood allergy (I can only have fish). 1st time I had a kale salad and forgot what my entree was. But both were good. Tho got charged for a full salad instead of a side one. Had pomegranate mint sparkler drink which was amazing. Highly recommend. Bit sour from the pomegranate but I liked it. This 2nd time (pics attached), friend got a chicken burger with tater tots while I got salmon with rice and salsa. Flavor wise, they do well with the salmon dish. Tasted fresh. Food came hot. Presentation was nice. Friend liked her chicken. The tots were nice and crispy. A tad on the salty side but bearable. We both got berry lemonade. It was good. But was expecting more berry flavored lemonade instead of lemonade with berries floating around. Walking in. Hosts were friendly like last time. Got seated right away. Service was great both times. Tho 2nd time, the waitress was more attentive and checked in on us at optimal times. Her name was Kaylee for 2nd time. She deserves more recognition. But everyone seems sweet. Atmosphere is pleasant. Lighting dim but not too dark. Tables were nice and clean. Everything looked pretty prestine. Even bathrooms are good. Clean. Stocked. Didn't smell. Overall will come again.
I went there recently in the middle of the week for dinner and to catch up with a friend. I had been here before, when they first opened and was impressed neither with the menu selection nor with the food itself. Somehow, I felt the place needed a second chance. I am happy to report they definitely have a better menu (see photo) to choose from - and the food tasted very good. Emphasis is placed on fresh ingredients that are then transformed in a dish that comes nicely together, even if it is just a standard burger. The steak in my salad was cooked to perfection. I was pleased with the experience and will come back.
We went to the place for Brunch on a Saturday morning. The food was great. We ordered Breakfast Skillet & Steak Tips + Eggs which were really delicious. We sat outside but I wish we knew we can pick our seat area when we do the reservation. The people were nice and very following Covid rules.
10/2019 - 3/5 stars The server was not good. She forgot to put in our order, we watched her put it in late, and she blamed it on the kitchen even though we saw several other tables that were seated after us get their orders (drinks and food) so we didn’t enjoy that. The food is the only reason for my stars, it was very good - turkey tips were cooked perfectly, as were the sweet potato fries! Yum! I work in Burlington, but probably won’t go back...much better service at Pressed across the parking lot for 1/2 the price of my dinner. Update: 10/2020 - 5/5 stars Service was much better. There are safety protocols in place and the food was spectacular. Thank you!
It's our go-to place for a friday evening. We ordered creole shrimp(crispy to the point that comes with bites of cauliflower too), Smoked wings with bang-bang sauce(classic), Fish& chips(great too) ended with flourless chocolate cake.. please go for it... Would always come back as it was the perfect place to celebrate my friend's bday this weekend... And heard rose sangria gave the needed buzz for the weekend lol !
Food and service were superb. So many tvs! It was amazing as the hockey game was kn and it was loud but not enough to disturb anyone’s dinner. Inly suggestion would be the salsa needs a bit less tomato in it. It was as thick as tomato sauce and tasted like it was mostly tomato sauce.
Consistently good food and great quality. We’ve never had a bad dish here
Great Ambience w/ outdoor seating. Interesting Brunch cocktail options We were here for Weekend brunch. Irish Whiskey/Coffee cocktail- 4/5 Mango Margherita - 4/5 Strawberry Bellini - 4/5 Truffle Tots - 6/5 (Epic!!!) Tavern Benedict - 3/5 Buffalo Chicken Benedict - 4/5 Toffee Waffle Sundae - 6/5 (Epic!) Do try it out for Brunch or Lunch!
My experience was great. The food was delicious, and the server even better.
I got the berry goat cheese salad and added steak, and the order of risotto fritters. All of it was amazing, and this is the best salad I've ever had. I also tried the bang bang broccoli, which was amazing and had such a unique taste, I was blown away. We went with a party of 10, but the service was amazing and everyone was so friendly. We did make a reservation the night before.
We hosted an event in the private event space and were very happy with the food and service. Pricing is reasonable and portions are generous. We've also visited for lunch several times and been happy with each visit
Came here for dinner with a bachelor party before heading out. Food was excellent. Not a bad meal on the table. It was a little overkill asking for all our IDs with matching debit cards to boot at a table full of grown men but I guess she was just doing her job? I don't know you'd think you'd draw the line at the 6'6" giant with a beard but hey thats just me. Other than that the food was good, service was fast, and it was an all around good experience
I got the Garlic parmesan wings and they are a delightful twist on traditional chicken wings. The combination of buttery garlic and rich parmesan creates a savory flavor profile that's both rich and satisfying. Each wing is typically crispy on the outside while remaining juicy inside, making for a perfect texture contrast. The garlic adds a fragrant kick, while the parmesan contributes a salty, umami depth. Ideal for sharing at gatherings or enjoying solo, these wings are a must-try for anyone who loves bold flavors. Just be sure to have some napkins handy—things can get a bit messy, but it’s totally worth it!
Had dinner there last week with a party of 5 on Halloween. The atmosphere is very nice, and the restaurant was mostly busy but not loud. We sat in a very large and comfortable booth. Our server was attentive and pleasant to work with. We picked this restaurant as a member of our party has Celiac, so we needed not only Gluten-Free food but no cross-contamination. The restaurant's website indicates it can accommodate this need and they lived up to that. The food was delicious and cooked to our specifications. We enjoyed our dinner and were happy we chose the restaurant!
Wonderful place to meet old ex colleagues for a reunion! The staff was unbelievably tolerant of our milling around and changing seats to socialize. Food was great, appeared quickly, and best of all they have the most delicious ale in the world, Cloud Candy!!
We came here as a group of seven and had a great time. The atmosphere was lively but still easy to talk, which made it perfect for catching up. For this type of bar restaurant, the food was really good. We had fish and chips, some salads, pizza, and a burger, and everything hit the spot. But the fried pickles was the best thing we’ve tried! A solid place for good food and a relaxed vibe with friends.
We were seated as soon as we arrived. The wait staff was quick and responsive. I had the steak tips, which were well cooked. The broccoli was a little under cooked, but I enjoyed them anyway. I will definitely go back.
Food and service was a big let down. The atmosphere is great though. Our waiter kept missing our drink orders and didn't check upon us after food delivery, which was disappointing. They have a nice and long list of drinks menu.
We went there with a group of 10. It’s a popular spot and usually has a good crowd. The food is good, and there’s typically a wait for dinner, so it’s best to make a reservation. I tried the veggie burger, which was okay but not outstanding. Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their dinner and drinks. I really liked the ambiance and surroundings. I wouldn’t mind visiting again next time.
Went with my girlfriend on a Tuesday night and had a great time! We sat indoors but they have big open walls that transition to the outdoor seating area which was nice especially on a warm night. It definitely is a typical bar style vibe, so not a quiet place if you are looking for something more intimate. The food is pretty standard American fare too, I got a chicken sandwich that I enjoyed but wasn’t a 10/10 or anything. My girlfriend got the chicken tenders as a meal despite it being an appetizer (love her for that) which was a solid choice as well. We weren’t feeling alcoholic this night and stuck with some fun drinks instead but the alcohol selection was v extensive if you are into that. I wouldn’t say that I HIGHLY recommend this Tavern but it is certainly an above average option that I will be back at again for sure!
Great casual place to hang out with friends and family, absolutely not a good venue for a romantic date or special occasions. We had good experience with all the employees we have encountered. Food quality/ price ratio is perfect, appetizers menu can use a little improvement. I think mixed drinks has less alcohol than the regular recipes ( even gin & tonic ) which doesn't bother me but if you care I suggest speak with your server / bartender when you order. Easy access location, plenty of free parking. Depending on the day and time you go, you may need to wait to be seated for half an hour or more and, finding a parking spot might be challenging.
Great place! Lots of beer on tap and full liquor bar. I do like fish and chips and I eat them at a lot of places. This was very different. The main difference was that it was salted instead of just flavored with herbs. It was extremely good, crispy and a great portion the pancakes were absolutely divine but a lot. Service was really good even though it was extremely crowded. We were not forgotten.
The food was great, and the atmosphere was vibrant. Edgrin was a fantastic server. I recommend the bang bang, garlic parmesan wings, burger, and chicken caeser salad.
Tavern in the Square has a pretty cool menu with all kinds of unique options. Prices are very reasonable and service was good.
Place is large and clean. Multiple selection of tables. Inside, outside, bench, bar, and high top.overall food quality was pretty good. Price is a little high for the quality, but not bad. Staff very attentive and friendly. Steak tips tasted great, but a couple of pieces were slightly overdone. Garlic mashed good, broccoli was actually cooked, not totally eldente. Had brownie desert, a little think. Some moist, some a little dry. Drink menu is larger than food menu. Desert menu only has four items.
Good place. Not a big fan of food menu here. Usually go with Caesar salad which is good. Had crispy chicken sandwich once which was not good. Good place to watch a game.
Day 1 I got the bacon and blue burger. Delicious, cooked perfectly and very adequately sized with lots of bacon. Day 2 I get the Korean chicken sandwich. I've been to every hot chicken place you can think of and THIS was the biggest chicken sandwich i've ever had. The bun is for show. Idk how such a large piece of chicken can be cooked so thoroughly while remaining so juicy. The sauce and kimchi pickles were awesome. I feel bad reporting that the breading and the chicken were so underseasoned it actually ruined it. The breading tasted like bran and made it hard to finish. That being said they clearly care about their product and I would highly recommend.
So many simple problems that can be fixed easily. So close to being a really great place. The menu is good, the food is good and includes choices for veg and gluten free. Big beer selection and a nice bar. The atmosphere is lively. BUT… The service is slow and inconsistent. STOP putting mains on top of your fries! The fries are really good, except for the ones sitting under the fish or other mains on the plate that are now soggy. You have runners bringing the food out. Great! My food won’t sit waiting for a server who may be tied up. But then I ask the runner for something - condiments - and the wait is on…. I won’t see them or my server for a while…ugh. The bar is busy and a great place to eat. They’re too busy so service is bad and slow. There are no condiments at the bar - tried it both ways! Can I just get some ketchup and salt and pepper please?! And when you bring the ketchup, a little ramekin won’t do… when will I ever see you again to ask for more?? These and a few others are so easy to fix. Potential is here…
Nice place, reasonable service...food was...egg, ok. Fried pickles and the steak tips. Potatoes came plain, stack tips were cooked correctly. Fried pickles.....not my preference. The batter flavor was tasty....but almost no pickle flavor. And the batter was so thick that after peeling one side completely off it was better.....but still a minimal prickly flavor. The first could I had to look to see if there was a pickle in there. So if you like really plain unflavored potatoes.....or prickly chips that are more like batter chips......
New York Strip Steak was VERY salty. At 40 dollars, that was disappointing. The green beans and fries were great though. It was busy which is understandable for a Saturday but it was hard to even get the server to refills our waters.
It's a nice place it was nice people with average food which I think is overpriced. I didn't especially like the fish taco but I didn't really get to eat it until I got home. The fish taco was very doughy. Customer service is good. There's plenty of parking. The people are very nice. It seems like a really nice place with potential but it's overpriced as far as I'm concerned I shouldn't have to pay that much money for a taco dish and mine was the cheapest of most of the other dishes.
It was...ok. atmosphere is great . Service was great . We sat outside which was pretty loud but it is a busy road so no biggy. Food portions were large ..no complaints there . Food was ...ok. I had the goddess veggie burger and the fries with rosemary and garlic . I loved it except a bit much whipped feta . Hubby had the black and blue burger . He said it was ok ..lacking seasoning . My father in-law had the crispy chicken bacon ranch sandwich..the chicken was definitely crispy ..almost hard actually. Wouldn't be a place I would make the specific trip for but filled the hole .
Edit: I thought this was just a one time thing but the last two times I've gone here the food is nearly inedible because of how much salt is on it. It doesn't happen at the other locations. Previous review: Wish I could give this place >5 stars. The food was incredible and there were so many gluten free options! Pizza, chicken fingers, even macaroni. And the menu was clearly marked for specific diets/allergies. Whatever the sauce was with the crispy brussel sprouts - amazing. Guac was very good too, not a lot of filler veggies in it, just guac. I will say though the chip to guac ratio was a little high but the chips were really good. Boyfriend got the spicy cauliflower and a steak salad. The portions are quite large so we brought food home. I don't remember our servers name but he was super helpful and attentive. Just a warning though if there is a Celtics game on it is quite loud.
not sure what kind of establishment they’re running here but i’m not a fan. was only acknowledged once and that was when our drink order was taken. after that we had to wait another 15 minutes before we were able to place our order and even then the bartender didn’t come up to us, we had to get her attention. but there were plenty of people who had sat at the bar after us who were served and attended to. the food was delicious and i do like this franchise i simply just won’t be going back to the burlington location. my time and money can be spent elsewhere
Potatoes were cold. Manager said it would be 30 seconds to bring new ones. Ten minutes later I was finished with my meal so I told server to forget the potatoes. The third bottle of A1 finally had sauce in it. Server was new but obviously training does not include checking to see how the food is. We had to flag her down. A very disappointing evening. We won’t be rushing back.
I was extremely disappointed at this very short visit. The server seemed attentive but was very rude. My husband and I just started our honey moon and decided to start the day off with brunch here. Traveling from Florida, we brought our 5 pound chihuahua tucked in my coat with us and she is a licensed emotional support service animal that helps with panic attacks. When we were seated they said nothing about the dog. She asked for beverages and my husband ordered a beer & me a mimosa. Naturally, I drew out my ID and asked why they weren’t seeing his - as I did work in the restaurant industry before and learned about how we need to card EVERY adult restating service no matter what age they look (I guess that varies from place to place). The waitress said “because he looks about 40” — he is 27! She asked to see a second form of ID since I have an out of state license (we both do) so I provided her with that. THEN she says she has to bring those to the manager! So I’m like “ok, already annoying” and she comes back with them. Right when I think everything is good, the manager comes over and says “sorry but your dog can’t be in here”. I stated that she was a service animal and he literally said “it doesn’t matter” which I am pretty certain is against the law. After we were seated for 5-10 minutes and nothing was said. Very disappointed but food smelt great.
Came here last night for a drink with someone after work. We sat at a table and were greeted by a server and the woman she was training. We each ordered drinks, and were asked for debit cards in addition to our IDs to show the trainee the proper ID verification process. We didn't think anything of it. After 10 minutes or so, a manager came to our table and told us we would not be served alcohol because he "didn't feel comfortable". I am of legal drinking age (22), with a proper MA license and cards to back up my license. I asked what he felt was wrong, and he would not provide explanation, all he said was that we were welcome to stay for food. I was in complete shock, as this has never happened to me. We left and went to Common Craft across the street which had a cooler vibe anyways. If you plan on ordering a drink with dinner here and (unfortunately) look a little young, perhaps seek elsewhere.
