It's a very busy place, especially on weekends, depending on the time of year. There's plenty of parking; we booked in advance. The food was good, and the waiters were attentive and friendly. Despite being completely booked, it was a great experience.

One of the best kept secrets in the area for chorizo, morcilla and lomo de orza (slow cooked pork loin in olive oil). Locals come from miles around for this meal. They make their own from scratch since 1904. If you are on the way to Granada, Córdoba or Málaga and you're a big foodie, this is your meal. The local cheeses are amazing as well. They are for take away only. Pro tip: reserve if you're a big group and it's a weekend, it gets packed. Also there are 4 restaurants next to each, same family, so any is good but my favorite is the bajo (the lower one on the declining road). The inside decor is slightly better and cosier.

It's a pretty traditional restaurant in the Sierras Subbéticas whose staff is efficient and kind. They serve a really tasty fresh Andalusian food. Excellent quality and price. Best pay a visit!

Buena venta de carretera, el servicio bueno, comida y hemos comido al menú, muy bueno y no te quedas con hambre. El personal amable y pendiente. El día 15 de Junio estuvimos comiendo con la asociación de mujeres de la que soy socia. 50 personas y todas hablando muy bien del lugar, del personal que nos atendió, y de la comida. No podía tener mejor valoración .

Buen lugar la Venta Los Pelaos 1913, hay otras alrededor (también Pelaos de la familia), situada en la Carretera Priego - Cabra. Buen aparcamiento. Aunque en fines de semana y festivos se dificulta. Sitio ideal para comer antes/después de visitar la Ermita de la Virgen de la Sierra, o después de hacer deporte en las distintas rutas que te ofrece la zona, bien en bicicleta o senderismo. Es un lugar muy bonito con unas vistas impresionantes de la SubBetica Cordobesa. Recomendable reservar, se suele llenar y sino te quedas sin mesa y debes esperar. Gran salón interior, con decoración rústica, y terraza techada con calefactores en invierno. Comida casera, especialidad en platos combinados de huevos, morcillas, chorizos o lomo de orza. También probamos las migas. Aunque tiene otro tipo de productos de la tierra. No le pongo 5 Estrellas por un par de detalles, un poco de desorden en el servicio, quizás por la multitud de comensales en la hora punta y la falta de personal para atenderlos. Y después no me ha agradado que nos cobren el pan 0,50 por persona, cuando apenas te ponen unas rebanadas. Calidad/Precio un lugar muy recomendable. Platos básicos pero que cuando llegas con hambre agradeces. Tambien tienen a la venta productos típicos de la zona, como chorizos, morcillas, queso, etc.

Lo podemos considerar como un bar de carretera. Situado en la base de la subida a la sierra de Cabra (Córdoba). Comidas caseras y postres caseros. Sabor excepcional y buen servicio. Fotos : 1 Plato típico de chorizo, morcilla y lomo 2 Tarta de turrón. 3 Gachas de la abuela (natillas de vainilla, natillas de chocolate con almendras o piñones por encima) 4 Solomillo de cerdo sin salsa.

The Ventorrillo de los Pelaos, or Venta Los Pelaos (1913), is the first roadside inn specializing in the artisanal production of pork products, particularly its chorizo ​​and morcilla sausages. Well… the table layout for our group (about 24 people) wasn't the best… every time I went to the bathroom, I had to crawl under the tables (awful, really). By the way, the bathroom was quite dirty and didn't have a lock (two bathrooms in such a large room, one for men and one for women)… It was packed. I'm giving it two stars because the calamari was good, the swordfish was okay, but the pork loin, the black pudding, etc… (I'll spare you the details). They barely had any of the beer I recommended that was available at the inn, no oxtail stew… and we waited about two hours for our first course after we sat down. Do I recommend it?!… well, no, unless you like every single one of these “little details”… if I went back it would be because they absolutely had to take me, but I doubt it 🤞🏻 I'll also refrain from commenting on the service (tray left on the table, mistakes with the order… drinks and a few other things…). I have to say that the crema catalana (dessert) was good and, moreover, it seemed homemade. A positive point along with the calamari 😉. The quality and price are not in line (high price for the quality offered… wine by the glass is not available, it's a bottle whether you like it or not). As always, this is just my personal opinion, in this case shared by quite a few others. Everything can be improved, and it's all about getting started… who knows… 🤷🏼‍♀️💪🏻

Después de dos horas esperando, nos vamos sin comer! Primero mesa y luego comida. Llegamos a las 14:00, pedimos a las 15:15 y a las 4 nos dicen que la comida aún tardará....Nos hemos ido de allí después de perder 2h. de nuestro tiempo, con niños y sin comer. No volveré

A complete disaster. It was very crowded, but that wouldn't have been a problem if the service hadn't been so incredibly slow. We waited over an hour to be seated, and when we finally got a table, it took another half hour to take our order. They brought half our drinks, and an hour later, the rest arrived with the food. The food wasn't bad, but it took at least two and a half hours from the time we arrived until we started eating. Very cheap, yes, but absolutely not worth it.

We sat down at 2:30 p.m., and the food wasn't brought out until 4:10 p.m. It was a plate of fried potatoes with egg, chorizo, and blood sausage, nothing complicated, and yet the egg came overcooked. The service was terrible, very convoluted. Many trips to get a glass or cutlery. A very bad experience.
