Perfect restaurant to host a family event. I hosted a baby shower at this location over the weekend and it was beautiful. We made arrangements a little more than a week out, and the staff was on it. They even printed personalized menus for our prix fixe menus. We had 20 people on the patio and had a wonderful time. Food was fresh and delicious. Guests enjoyed the ambiance. Alyssa, Rosie and our server David, took excellent care of us. No one wanted to leave. Lol I would recommend this location for brunch, dinner, a baby shower, bridal luncheon, Bachelorette brunch, literally any family gathering. For extra personal touches, reach out to their team directly. They're awesome.
This restaurant is a great spot for a relaxed meal. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, and the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful, with portions that felt fair for the price. Everything from appetizers to dessert came out on time and tasted great. Overall, it’s a solid place with good food, good service, and an easygoing vibe, definitely worth a visit.
Porta Via Calabasas is classy, cozy, and quietly flexing. The potatoes and leeks deserve their own fan club, and the chopped salad is that girl. Comfort food with expensive taste, polished service, and vibes that make you consider moving to Calabasas.
I recently dined at this restaurant with my family and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with attentive service from the moment we walked in. We ordered a variety of dishes and were impressed by both the presentation and the quality of the food. I had the seabass, and it was cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender and moist on the inside. It was beautifully seasoned and paired well with the sides. I also tried the sweet potato fries, which were crispy, not greasy, and had just the right amount of natural sweetness. They were served hot and fresh—easily some of the best I’ve had. We also ordered from the kids’ menu for our child, choosing the pasta and the halibut. The pasta was simple but tasty—just the way kids like it. The halibut was a standout even from the kids’ options—flaky, mild, and not overcooked. It was served with a small side and portioned perfectly for a younger diner. What stood out the most was the consistency in flavor and freshness across all the dishes. The restaurant clearly takes pride in using high-quality ingredients and preparing meals thoughtfully. Portions were generous, and everything arrived at the table in good time. Overall, we left very satisfied. This is a great place for both adults and children, whether you’re craving fresh seafood or comforting sides. We’ll definitely be returning soon. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxed, delicious dining experience
Great quality food. We especially loved the horseradish in their Bloody Mary. Beautiful inviting ambiance with clean crisp decor. Restrooms are unisex but share a communal hand wash station. Restrooms are well kept. The crowed is a mix of all ages and super inviting. The staff is endearing. We quickly fell in love this place. Can’t wait to taste more!
Porta Via Calabasas is a gem tucked away in the scenic city of Calabasas, known for its commitment to serving healthy, fresh, and flavorful Californian cuisine. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance invites you into a space that balances elegance with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It's an ideal spot for both casual lunches and special dinners. The menu is a delightful exploration of contemporary California dining, with dishes that are both innovative and comforting. Service at Porta Via Calabasas is noteworthy. Staff members are attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to make recommendations, ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience. A standout feature is the outdoor seating area, which provides a serene dining environment, perfect for enjoying the California weather. It was shame that one the day we visited, it was cold and windy and we could take advantage of outdoor seating. This setting, combined with their impressive wine list and craft cocktails, makes it a go-to for both locals and visitors looking for a dining experience that highlights the best of California's culinary scene. Porta Via Calabasas is a must-visit for those who appreciate fresh, high-quality ingredients, expertly crafted dishes, and an atmosphere that effortlessly combines sophistication with comfort. Whether you're there for a leisurely brunch, a business lunch, or a romantic dinner, it's a place that consistently impresses with its culinary delights and exceptional service.
The service, view, and food made this experience well worth the trip. We will be coming here again.
Came here for my daughter's birthday and we loved this place. Great staff, the hostess was very friendly and welcoming, the waiter had a great personality & recommended great dishes for us as it was our first time dining here. I ordered the Branzino, a white fish plate which was very delicious. My wife ordered the Orecchiette Primavera. My sister ordered the Parmigiano Crusted Halibut which to me was the best plate of all three. The sauce on the Halibut was perfection. We ordered my daughter the Chicken Bento Box with brown rice and vegetables. And for dessert a tiramisu.
New favorite spot! Extremely friendly staff and flavorful quality food. Kickoff with the calamari, you won’t regret it. Ty Crystal for making our experience top notch!
Great please! Always welcome if you dont have reservation. Like it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is fast and friendly. Barista able to draw a Micky Mouse or Grinch on your foam cappuccino. Highly recommend this please for any occasion.
Nice dinner date- Had a delicious dinner last night at Porta Via. Sat outdoor and felt very comfortable. Almost felt “normal” again. Service was super friendly and food was delicious. I had the Grilled Ora salmon and my partner had zucchini noodles w/shrimp both yum! Ended with Tiramisu and chocolate cake.
The ambiance here is lovely, especially if you snag an outdoor table and soak up the fresh air. The location in charming Calabasas makes it perfect for a relaxed brunch, coffee to-go, or catching up with friends. The food is more than decent, it’s straight-up fantastic! I had the 5-spice tuna sandwich with truffle fries and my girlfriend got the steak sandwich… just WOW. Perfectly executed and worth every penny (yes, it’s on the pricier side, but totally justified). Our server Ethan was the epitome of hospitality, super attentive, friendly, and even let us bring and uncork our own bottle of wine. Absolutely fantastic spot, can’t recommend it enough! Already planning our next visit.
This restaurant is the perfect spot for a relaxed, no-fuss meal. The atmosphere is warm and super comfortable, like you’re eating at a friend’s house who happens to be an amazing cook. Service is friendly, attentive, and never overbearing, just right. The food is fresh, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor. Portions are generous and totally fair for the price. Every course, from apps to dessert, came out perfectly timed and tasted fantastic. Overall, great food, great service, and the chillest vibes. Definitely worth a visit, already looking forward to going back!
Amazing service and amazing drinks! Bartender Makela has the best customer service and knows her stuff about the different drinks. When you dont know what you want, she can choose a drink based one what you like! She the one to go to!
I had the Black Cod in miso glaze, perfectly cooked, staff was tentative and friendly. It is my second time and both trips were fantastic with a great vibe.
Had a lovely lunch at Marmalade Café with my friend. We ordered the crab cake and the lobster Benedict, and both were absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and very satisfying. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, making it a perfect spot to catch up and enjoy good food. Everything we tried was so yummy — definitely a place I’d come back to for lunch again.
I’ve been coming to this location for many years and decided to try their “to go turkey dinner” last year and was very happy with the wonderful quality of the Thanksgiving meal so I ordered 4 Turkey dinners to go this year. Their Turkey Dinner was incredible, the turkey was moist, potato’s and stuffing were great as were the green beans. We all enjoyed this ready to eat Thanksgiving feast that came with a side salad and slice of pumpkin pie. We will most likely make this a tradition so we don’t have to cook. The food was really good, the only issue we had was one of the turkey dinners was missing the turkey, most likely an oversight due to how busy they were Note: check your to go orders to be sure the food you ordered is all there before you leave
I had a wonderful experience at Marmalade Cafe in Calabasas! I ordered the brick roasted half chicken, and it was absolutely delicious, juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service was excellent, everyone was so friendly and attentive. I also loved the cozy outdoor atmosphere. It is such a relaxing spot to enjoy a meal. And of course, my double espresso is always nearby, no matter what I order, it just makes the experience complete. Definitely a place I’ll come back to!
Best Maine Lobster at reasonable price - Amazing! Also very good service! I realize the Lobster feast they do is only seasonal - and this unfortunately was the last week- but if you can catch it next year, it might have been the freshest best tasting lobster I ever had. Also Beautiful area\very nice ambiance!
Efficient and proficient service. Food was delicious, plentiful and decently priced for the quality and quantity. I love the outdoor seating options. I ordered the turkey and cranberry sandwich with gravy sauce on the side and a Caesar salad. It was delicious! Also, I ate there around lunch time on a Friday and it was quite busy, but managed to get a table for one right away.
We had a great early dinner here on Sunday. It did take a little time for someone to greet us as the entrance said seat yourself as it was only 4pm but once we did get our server, she was really nice and attentive so maybe if you're in a hurry, ask the bartender or a server if you can be helped right away. We got the Spring special lobster rolls and the split pea soup as appetizers. Both were very good. Soup was hot which is ideal when ordering soup. For dinner we got the Big Marm Burger with fries...delicious and Petrale Sole, which we get a lot bc it's so good. If you don't like a lot of sauce on your food, ask for the sauce on the side. For dessert, it's hard for me to pass up the NY Cheesecake. It's creamy and not too sweet. I rarely have a bad meal here, for sure the cooks know what they're doing! I come here for comfort food and it usually delivers. Take out from here is ideal as most of the dishes heat up well and are great for sharing! They also have splits of Chandon so that always makes me happy!
The seared tuna salad is a prefect combo of fresh, crunchy, crispy, sweet, salty, sour, and umami. The tuna was high quality and perfectly seared. This restaurant is also tucked into a really beautiful spot in the commons with great outdoor seating options. Incredibly well balanced dish 10/10 recommend (unless you don’t like cabbage).
The food here was delicious. The service was really nice. The prices were not bad. We ordered a Breakfast Burrito, the Cross Creek Pancakes with Scramble Eggs and Ham, French Toast, and Corned Beef Hash, and Gilson's Scramble. The Pancakes were very good, fluffy and tasty. They had a homemade taste and texture. The toast were a little hard but had a good taste. The coffee was excellent. We ordered two Cafe Lattes. I definitely recommend this place.
The quality of food is good not the best, very beautiful place for dating or family meals, service is good
Food was very good. The night was cold. Inside seating was limited so we sat outside. The heater was sufficient to keep us warm. Service was excellent. We enjoyed our dinner
Really classy and cute bistro. Love the food and the price is more affordable than one might think.
First I would like to say AMAZINGGGG FOOD. My bf and I went twice while we were in Calabasas for my school trip. We first had the marmalade breakfast and the heart health breakfast with a chai latte and a peach mimosa. The portions were great the service was amazing and we were able to make two meals out of the first time we went. This first time we went around 9am on a Thursday. 8/10 for this round of breakfast. The only thing that could’ve made it better was the pancakes were a bit dense, and the potatoes and eggs were just a bit bland. The second time we went was a bit of a different experience. We went around 9am on a Sunday and we had a reservation. We got seated pretty quickly but then sat at our table with no service for almost 15 minutes either multiple people walking by and not saying anything. Even the people after us had gotten service before us which was a bit frustrating but the food was still great and we still had a good time talking with each other. This time around we had the breakfast tacos and breakfast burrito. 9/10 for this round of breakfast it was amazing
The service at this location is mediocre at best. Our server had an attitude from the moment we sat down and rarely came by to check on us. And the food was so-so. We ordered the lobster benedict -- lobster was overcooked and chewy. The hollandaise sauce was clumpy -- very disappointing as the Westlake Village location makes the best lobster benedict. We also got the chinese chicken salad which was bland and some of the cabbage was not fresh. The burger was okay. Lamb burger wasnt bad. *If you’re looking to eat at Marmalade, go to the Westlake Village location instead. Service is friendly and the food is consistently good.
Atmosphere and service were good. However the veggie scramble, potatoes, and 7 grain pancakes weren’t (seemed had been sitting maybe, not sure; and the pancakes actually tasted sour). For a somewhat bougie place like this, I’d expect they use real maple syrup, not the fake stuff. Also don’t appreciate restaurants with extra service fees tacked onto the check. Could be better.
Had lunch there today. Orders were incorrect, cold. The manager was very nice when we told her our issues and comped our lunch. I will try it again as they have a great looking breakfast and lunch menu.
My boyfriend and I got breakfast here while traveling to Los Angeles area and it was decent. Opportunities- took a really long time to get waited on after we were seated, they forgot my chicken in my breakfast dish, bird pooped on our table multiple times due to the bird feeder above our seats. Positive- food wasn’t bad but it’s hard to mess up breakfast food too. I would not recommend this place.
I’ve been paying $21 for a cob salad. Tonight l was charged $30. The manager said we added a service charge. You just lost a good customer. A lot of nerve to raise price $10. My family and friends say adios.
Atmosphere and service.... amazing. The lighting in here is to die for! Especially if you are prone to migraines or have light sensitivity. Now, let's move on to the food. What a joke. No lie the food was better here when the place was Johnny rockets. The food was awful. The guac came with 6 chips and a few carrots. Carrots and guac... I think not. Who made this menu... They should be fired. All the food was bland and awful, the halibut, the stir fry, the burger all of it awful. The drinks were $18 each and were okay but not $18 okay. Let's be real, the drinks are better at marmalade. My margarita was served in a whiskey glass with a huge ice cube, awful. It was gone in 3 sips. The food, the portions, the prices are a joke. Service was great, food was not worth it, we won't be back and we will be steering our friends away from this place until they fix their menu or prices. I don't mind paying money for good food, what I mind is paying $ for awful food. We paid $300 for the worst food of our lives
I went to this restaurant with my family today 9/12/2025, and it was a very disappointing experience. The server repeatedly came to our table and tried to take our dishes while we were still eating, which made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. After we left, my son suddenly had a nosebleed. I went back to ask for tissues or napkins, but the lady at the outside desk told me, “We don’t have any tissues or napkins.” When I explained it was for my son, she responded, “We are not doctors.” That attitude was shockingly rude and unprofessional. I then asked another worker inside, who eventually gave me a few napkins — but by then the experience had already been ruined. This was the third and last time I’ll come here, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
People say this restaurant serves delicious food. They also highlight the large portions, reasonable prices, and pleasant outdoor seating with a turtle pond. Baloney! More plate than food. The prices are inflated. The service is especially slow outside near the "turtle pond". Turtle pond? What a joke. And the topper? The entitled servers.
