It was the best hostel I’ve stayed during the whole Camino de Santiago! Wonderful building and family owned business. Fully renovated, super comfortable beds and shower and super central but far enough to be as quiet as staying in the countryside. Jorge and his partner were super friendly and gave us tips about the city; the building used to belong to his grandad and he told us the whole story of the many uses of the space along its whole history. Overall, definitely worth it!

Amazing place with a fantastic garden. Beautiful old style architecture with brand new facilities. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about the town and the region and of course about the history of the building. Very attentive to every need. Very close to and in fact in the old town of Tui. A pilgrim’s must place to stay.

We were very happy in this old monastery. Friendly staff and a nice yard. Would recommend staying here. Only the breakfast was very disappointing in an old room without windows and the coffee machines didn't work.

Gorgeous. Big rooms with lots of space but no locked storage. Not enough bathrooms. No hooks. Kitchen is sparsely equipped. Welcome was so nice. Enjoyed hearing the history. Would happily stay again just to enjoy the ambiance.

The woman at the reception was incredibly kind and helpful! The architecture is beautiful and the location is great, in a part of Tui with lots of restaurants and beautiful streets. Gorgeous courtyard! However, the room was incredibly hot and crowded, and the beds are far from comfortable. We barely slept and heard the same from everyone there that night. Shower was also broken. (remember to bring your own towel!) Overall not bad value for money but wouldn’t be my first choice.

Only one shower for women, one for men…three toilets total. Great laundry. Rooms are well equipped, but walls are extremely thin. Can hear everything from kitchen from walking to glasses clinking from washing. Floors very “hollow” so sounds like people are stomping around. However, great place for pilgrims and right for the price. Reception has snacks and drinks.

Writing this review after a sleepless night. Despite the romantic idea of staying in a castle, there’s really nothing good I can say about this place. My room was located right next to the bathroom and kitchen, so I could hear all the noise from both throughout the night. The bunk bed was built in such a way that every time the person on the lower bed moved, my upper bed would shake — waking me up constantly. The door to our bedroom was extremely loud. The worst part? At 3am, a random person entered our room, looking for something 🫣 It was unsettling and completely unacceptable. Only 1 toilet and 1 shower for women for the whole floor. Breakfast cost €3, but there was basically nothing I could eat. It only included toast with jam and some cornflakes. I just grabbed a coffee and an apple and left. I do not recommend this place

When we first got here we really loved it. So beautiful and peaceful. We got our beds and slept there for one night. I was supposed to stay another night, but my friend who went further told me that she had met someone who told her that there were bedbugs - BIG ONES - and they had left because of this reason - two hours BEFORE we came. They apparently had informed the staff of this but STILL assigned beds in the same room for us, where we had the EXACT SAME BED. After that I also found a bedbug as well and informed the staff, who was not very helpful and said that I might had brought it myself from Porto, and that they would move me to another room. Eh, no thank you. I cleaned ALL of my things with not really any help and changed hostel afterwards. Two days later I meet the ones who were there before us, and who told me that they had already told the staff about the problem before we came and that they were shocked that they had put us in the SAME ROOM IN THE SAME BEDS WITHOUT ANY WARNING. Apparently they don’t care about their cleanness or of the wellbeing of their guests and I was SO disappointed because I thought it was such a beautiful place. Afterwards I have also seen the bites appear. Will NOT recommended this until they have improved on this issue.
