My wife and I love dining at Open Kitchen! The sophisticated ambiance sets the perfect mood, and the food is consistently amazing. Every visit feels like a treat. Highly recommend checking it out for yourself!
Love this spot!! Great team work between three businesses who have come together to create an air-conditioned, classy, comfortable delicious yet reasonably priced venue with amazing (and cheeap) wine. Good value!
I love Open Kitchen! The showroom (restaurant) is beautiful! I thought dining in a decor showroom is a pretty unique idea and the pieces on sale are very exquisite as well, they all add to the ambiance. There is a variety of food options on the menu - the flatbread pizzas are my fave along with the apple pie. Wine selection is pretty decent as well. Its a great chill spot unlike any other here in Barbados.
Pleasant personal floor staff, the waiter knew when to interrupt to clear the table, etc. Food was tasty with adequate quantities. Large wine selection
Amazing experience and even more amazing food. Staff was so friendly and available. Food was really good 👌🏼
Love the setup and decor The actual furniture/ interior design shop is drastically over priced but a nice place to enjoy a light lunch a few desserts and some coffee Kids friendly and very welcoming The waiting staff are great You have to keep in mind the lunch hours no lunch after 3
Good food, great atmosphere, not cheap but reasonable prices. For dessert get the afogato.
Great food and excellent service, I'll definitely be back soon
Wonderful as usual!!! My favorite casual dining restaurant.
Great food, lots of options. Would recommend for a special lunch with friends or family.
Excellent service and the food was delicious!!
Food with a difference. Delicious and very nicely displayed.
great space. open air. good vibe. stylish music. attentive staff. get on your groove.
This restaurant does a homemade coconut ice-cream...The atmosphere is exquisite and elegant. We will certainly be back!!!
The food was amazing and the ambiance is perfect
Group of 4 We had soup, bruschetta, hamburger, carbonara pasta, and catch of the day. All tasty. Attentive service, very friendly staff, constant tap water refills. Presentation excellent. Delicious chocolate brownie.
Big props to chef Damon and Lukuana. Damon prepared what was an incredible dish which was not on the menu. I was literally at a stand still at choosing what to order with my diet restrictions which can be quite daunting. Lukuana was extremely helpful in answering my numerous questions and assisting me. She made my experience awesome. This was my first visit. Thanks guys I will be back.
The food service great and unbeatable atmosphere !!! I ordered the cajun chicken was delicious. I cannot wait to go back here. forgot to take pictures was too hungry!
The ambience is wonderful, the service is great with friendly staff who wait to serve your every need, but the absolute best part of this restaurant was the food. The chicken alfredo is delicious and infused with herbs and the pizza is mouthwatering. A must visit.
12/10. We were an incredibly difficult table but chef Damon and Lukuana were so accommodating, friendly, and superior customer service. Fantastic evening!
Friday lunch with work colleague, excellent food as usual and good recommendations from staff on the menu. Ran into a few friends at other tables. Looking forward to next visit.
This is a restaurant and bistro, ensuite cellar style wine store and hine decor store all in one! I had the pleasure of visiting Open Kitchen on the occasion of my nieces 40th birthday celebration 🎉. So I've given it away, it's also an event locale. The canapes and finger foods were delicious and uncluded their Goats Cheese Jalapeno Balls. Really, a beautiful and fun setting to party the night away🥳
Went for lunch today on a recommendation and the whole experience was fabulous. Our server (Corey) was charming and attentive and all four lunches were fantastic. This will be a keeper on our Barbados itinerary for years to come.
The meals were very well received by our quite large dinner party, but the 5 star service by Shomo, our waiter for the night, would definitely encourage us to return. His service was beyond excellent.
Great little spot to refuel after a big retail experience. Bacon mac and cheese was perfect.
I have eaten here so many times and just realized I didnt review it. Open Kitchen never disappoints. The staff is always friendly and attentive, making every visit feel welcoming. I really enjoy the dinner specials — a perfect mix of new creations and familiar favorites. The kids love the pizza and salads, which are always fresh and flavorful. The wine pairing experience next door is also a hit, and I love that the menu changes regularly to keep things exciting. A great spot for both casual family meals and relaxed evenings out. I do wish they would take a bit more risk with some dishes and be very bold, but I know the palate in Barbados is mild.
overall is was a beautiful experience,my friends did the wine tasting, atmosphere was fantastic and loads of choice in the food selection and loads of vintage wines to choose from
This was such a good restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and unique. I liked the setting and ambiance. The wine area is separate from the food. The waiters were kind they could’ve been more attentive. The restrooms were very small and only had one stall. I did have an issue with my entree that they were unable to fix but overall had a generally good experience. Entree: Roasted Center Pork Loin with corn and Spinach
Furniture. Music. Pizza. I like the intriguing atmosphere since it's located in a high-end furniture store. My fiancé (Jeena) and I ate on a table made out of a tree trunk which was pretty cool. Also there's a wine shop next door with a huge selection of wines you can get by the glass/bottle - but that's the only alcohol available at the restaurant. The pizza is thin crust with interesting toppings like shrimp, smoked salmon, blue cheese and poached pear. I had the El Español and Jeena had the Ryan's Special. If you don't usually eat much then the portion is fine but I believe most people (guys in particular) would want two pizzas since what's on the pizza itself is a bit sparse. However there are non-pizza dishes that may be more filling but it's about twice the price of a pizza. Friendly service, cool lounge music. Would come again but more as an intriguing social chill-out spot to show friends who've never been there before than for the food. 🙂👍
Lovely service and atmosphere. This is my third time dining here and I would definitely recommend it to anyone...oh and the food is fine too lol
As we set out to find as many as possible 'new spots' that will make our bellies happy we were delighted to be able to add this to our list. This is such a refreshing place to visit. We went on a Friday and had a great time. The food (and the wine "cave') were for memoirs. We will most definitely return.
The food is a bit overpriced but I enjoyed it, though I think it was more of a personal preference because I had 2 others try what I ordered and they didn't like it. The music playing was upbeat without being overly loud, and the silent black and white film playing was a nice touch. Also, the service was fast and really great.
Great atmosphere. Very comfortable. Just had coffee and carrot cake which were great but we had to wait way too long to be served.
Quaint bistro with great wine options from wine cave
Beautiful place but small portions and pricey (for some to be fair). I would recommend a reservation as its quite busy. Great wine options if that's your thing.
Excellent food..great service.
This is a unique concept that works. This restaurant is nestled in a furniture / home goods store and attached to a wine store. (Imagine dining and having access to an extensive list of wines/ alcoholic options!) I love the tables. All different and beautiful and I believe you can buy the furniture as well. The food is nice but my favorite are their desserts!
Great for a business lunch with restaurant connected to a wine store (wine cave). Generally good service although or waitress at the time seemed new. We went again for group evening cocktails and the supervisor was amazing at finding a spot for us.
The food was spot on. I had the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and salad I could not find a fault with the food. The carrot cake for dessert put the icing on the cake for me. It was moist, soft and delicious. What stop me from giving Open kitchen 5 stars was the service. The service can do with some improvement. I ordered a lemonade with my meal and had almost finished my meal just before the lemonade came all the while I had finished my water and I had to ask for it to be topped back up. The number of staffing on was plenty but they seem to lack structure/organization. Once the service improves and is maintained they are so worth dinning at and a 5 stars review.
This venue is certainly unique! The tables and lighting that you dine with are also for sale. Interesting concept as they have an adjoining furniture store. Everything I tasted was amazing and the prices were fair. A must visit.
Just a great spot. Where can you sit in (and on) the furniture at a high end furniture store and order your food - unique and fun. Their pizza is excellent but can be made better by a visit to the Wine Cave - a full wine shop to choose a glass (probably a bottle) of wine. All in all a great experience.
Many of the people in my party sent back the calamari because it was too dark, really overdone, the shrimp as well. The portion sizes were also too small.
The prices are pricy for what it is eg the cheese platter was advertised and variety of cheeses and fruits but what I received was 3 choices of cheese which was fine but the fruit side of it lacked, it was the cheap sliced Mott's apples you would find in the store and they were tasteless. After that I was served the Ryan special which is a pizza with pesto, tomato slices, salmon and arugula. I was unable to finish the pizza because the pesto was so extremely bitter it burned my tongue, I ended up scraping it off until I couldn't do it anymore and gave up. But besides the food the atmosphere was amazing with good staff that are always to happy and listened to my suggestions after the meal.
The worst music I have ever heard played in a restaurant . Cheap nasty techno pop covers. Staff lovely.
I ordered the carbonara. It was so average it was sad. The linguine was over cooked and broke into little pieces. But the “pancetta” was undercooked so it was chewy and slightly raw tasting. Sad very sad. I got a very nice margarita but no salt on the rim because the salt in the kitchen was already mixed with pepper according to the server.
I visited open kitchen yesterday for the first time and was very disappointed. We have dietary restrictions due to Celiac so we ordered a gluten-free Truffle lovers pizza. When it arrived it was cold and the gluten-free pizza 'crust' was two GF wraps stuck together - NOT made from GF pizza dough as expected. When we asked about this, the server said oh we didn't have GF dough so that's what they do instead. When we suggested she should have let us know beforehand, she said that would have made the order take longer. The Trident wine lady was also rather rude when we declined to order wine. Our bill was $75 for one pizza plus added service charge. I would definitely not return.
Poor service. Had to ask for everything (drinks, water, refills). It took 40 mins for our food to come out. It miraculously was ready the moment we asked where it was. The place wasn’t busy so I have no idea why it was so slow. They also don’t have a mixed drink menu- it’s just basic stuff with only 1 choice of spirit (like 1 rum, etc). Their shrimp app came with 3 (!) small shrimp- it looked like frozen shrimp they heated up in the oven.
I went there for the first time I brought two slice of carrot cake 1 slice of lemon poppy cake I sprite 2 soda water and a coffee the bill was $88:00 and after I pay i was told the prices of the items
Food was terrible and expensive. Wouldn’t feed my turtles the lettuce they serve. Manger is rude and lacks hospitality skills. Needs a complete reform. Will never recommend.
I’ve been to Open Kitchen a few times (4 times in the last 6 months) and they have an impressive looking vegan menu. Unfortunately the kitchen staff are in urgent need of fully understanding what makes a product vegan and if nothing else, then refreshing their understanding. I have had to give the service 1 star as well because my expectation as someone who waited tables before, is that the waiter or server who takes the order should recognise what has been plated before serving it to the customer. On the last three occasions my vegan order included feta cheese, regular mayonnaise or some other error. On my recent visit, yesterday lunchtime, I was served mozzarella cheese on my vegan pizza. What really upset me was the kitchen staff’s unwillingness to accept the error, despite the waiter, the hostess or manager and the vegan who regularly orders the pizza pointing out that it included dairy mozzarella cheese. You would never serve someone pork if they explained that they practiced Islam. Open Kitchen provides a great atmosphere that was unfortunately ruined for me and my family visiting yesterday. We must do better. I also reported to the lady working in the wine section that a form of sewage appeared to be leaking across the car park yesterday - and later heard that one of Open Kitchen’s customers fell outside of the restaurant. Attention to detail, product knowledge, and good customer service is something that people pay for when they visit your place of business. I don’t think I’ll be visiting for a while. Hope things get better.
