I stayed at La Cascina as a base for the Parma Fair, which is about 25 minutes away. A beautiful, peaceful place, with Paola's exceptional hospitality. The room was pleasant and clean with a very comfortable bed. The view of the surrounding countryside was beautiful. Dinner was excellent, with a menu full of homemade delicacies that was hard to choose from. The torta fritta, a must-try, is spectacular both in terms of taste and the view! Definitely a place to return to, even if it's just to visit the many castles in the area. Prices were more than fair. Highly recommended.

We tried their cuisine, very home-style, the kind that warms the heart and makes you feel pampered like at grandma's. The owner entertained everyone at the table, one by one, bringing smiles and laughter despite the week's tiredness. Excellent first courses, not at all heavy, balanced, and decidedly flavorful. Friendly, nice, and lively staff! It's appreciated when you ask for something and turn around and there's a nice, fast girl who listens to you and promptly brings it. Everyone is on point. The music was fun (although the musician needs to improve his timing, since one genre plays while you're eating and another when you're finished), but it got everyone dancing and having fun. A very successful and enjoyable party. Very fair prices for the quantity and quality. The staff and owners were good, friendly, and cheerful. I would have given 6 stars if I could. Best San Giovanni in decades!

I spent a weekend with my family and we had a wonderful time. The room was very spacious and clean, the bathroom was very large and comfortable. The staff was very kind!! We felt pampered!! We had dinner and everything was delicious, you can taste the quality!! Even the meat, I had a steak and it was truly delicious!!! Posto molto carino e pulito, ma oltre ad aver riscontrato una simpatia che lasciava un pò a desiderare nella proprietaria, abbiamo trovato piuttosto disagevoli e discutibili una colazione entro le nove del mattino (alla quale abbiamo rinunciato per scelta) e un check out alle dieci; dettagli non da poco conto sinceramente mai riscontrati, per quanto ci riguarda, in nessun altro albergo. I was disappointed. I had lunch here last year, and after the food was good, I returned with my family. We had torta fritta and cured meats. The cured meats were good, but the torta fritta, while still flavorful, seemed to have been microwaved. It definitely hadn't been fried at the time; it was opaque and soft. The cappelletti... the pastry was very thick (too thick, really) with a filling that was scant. We won't be returning.

NEVER AGAIN! Terrible food and a decidedly rude owner!! Company Christmas dinner and menu agreed upon with the owner, who was notified days in advance of the presence of vegetarians, intolerant people, and those with allergies; despite this, the owner addressed these people with unpleasant and inappropriate jokes. At checkout, we were told about a discount, which actually wasn't a discount, since it was already the agreed-upon price. As if that weren't enough, at checkout, the owner continued to be rude, impolite, and annoyed about using the POS. Highly not recommended!!!
