We discovered it on the first day because it was the only place open, and from the beginning, the service was excellent. The wonderful customers helped us with everything and more—we were truly speechless. We went back yesterday for the cachopo, and they were right, it was undoubtedly the best. The waiter at lunchtime was fantastic, and the croquettes were the best we've had in a long time. We visited other bars in the area, and nothing compares to Casa Carlos. These Sevillians will definitely be back! 😊
We're leaving Asturias dreaming of returning just to eat here again. Impeccable service, so friendly. The place is so cozy, like being at your grandma's house eating like royalty. Not only is the portion size generous, but the quality is outstanding. What you see in the video and photos is the daily menu; everything was spectacular.
Obviously a place where the locals eat. Cozy atmosphere. One waitress to take care of the whole place but she managed to take great care of us. The good was delicious and portions were large.
An authentic place, one of those that no longer exist in Asturias. It has a restaurant area and a terrace. I recommend making a reservation if you're going on busy dates. And if you can, order their famous huevos encapotados in advance. They're delicious. They're fried eggs covered in béchamel sauce with ham and breaded. A delicacy these days, simple and delicious! We also ordered the croquettes, which were perfectly cooked and super creamy, although a bit salty. And for the main course, the cachopo. In this case, we'd been here before. I thought it was the worst of the three dishes; it wasn't tender at all. A shame. As I said, a highly recommended place.
Asturias has enough cultural accolades to cover all the cider they produce, but we should add another one: Casa Carlos, a Site of Gastronomic Interest. The place is large, has a terrace, and is in the middle of the town. It has several parking lots and some nearby lots where there isn't, but you can park. It's usually quite busy, so if you don't have a reservation, I hope you asked Nuestra Señora de Covadonga for a table. We didn't mess around with proof; we played it safe. Cabrales and Bravas Potatoes, Cured Meat and Goat Cheese Cachopo, and the Traditional Cachopo. Prices for the cachopo range between 20 and 30 euros, more than deserved given its size requires a table to accommodate it. We ordered sauces on the side and went straight for the Cabrales cheese. It has a mild yet powerful flavor of local produce. With that aroma typical of good Cabrales cheese that puts some people off. The brava wasn't overly spicy, so it was a good pairing for the first ciders and left room for the main dishes. The first bite of the cecina and goat cheese cachopo was the same sensation as finding Gulpiyuri Beach empty on a sunny day. It's not at all oily, and there's not much cheese, which firmly plays a supporting role, making the Rodman the ideal place for Jordan cecina to crush. A good product, lightly coated, that blends well on the palate and satisfies the craving for cachopo that has been with you since you pass through the Neró tunnel. I tried the traditional cachopo less, but again, it was very well fried without unnecessarily filling your body with oil and with a thin breading base to delight any discerning palate. We ate until the kiko, but we'll have to save room for dessert. All the desserts are homemade, and some are quite striking, like the CHEESECAKE, which looks more like a mixture of curd and cheesecake, a CARAMELIZED RICE PUDDING that's like crème brûlée and leaves you feeling sickly sweet, and a BROWNIE WITH MANDARIN ICE CREAM, which I'd never tried before and which was a duo that even Tristan and Valerón couldn't have matched in the days of EuroDepor. I'm booked to return, so all I can say is enjoy yourselves because the meal seems short. Keep enjoying!
The food was very good. Clearly, the best thing is the ham and cheese cachopo. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The restrooms are very nice, very clean, and stocked with toilet paper. It's true that there's only one, so it's a bit slow, but they're very accessible; there's just a small step to get to them. The price is in line with the quality; even the desserts didn't disappoint. The most highly recommended of those we ordered was the tocino de cielo (a type of flan).
Always spectacular For some reason, after many years of coming here to eat, I'd never tried the weekday menu. Now I have, and honestly, I'd venture to say it's the cheapest and best value menu I've had in 2024. €13.50 per person is unbeatable… for everything it offers (no photos of the drinks), it's impossible to ask for more. Plus, the service is wonderful. And they even allow dogs to eat outside.
Good owner, good wine 🍷.
A little café where I stopped for a café con leché whilst on my morning ride. I didn't eat anything so I can't comment on the food. Plenty of seating including an outdoor area (where I sat). My café con leché grande was €1.40; excellent value.
This is the way one should run a place. Nice food great drinks and also and not least - open!!
AMAZING FOOD, GREAT PEOPLE. (I’m biased because the chef and waiters are all cousins of my wife, so I’ve known and loved them for thirty years.) In summer you must reserve, because they are in high demand.
Great food lovely friendly place recomend highly
As a tourist, make sure you get a reservation in advance - if you don’t speak Spanish, ask your accommodation contact to make the reservation for you. We had drinks in the evening. It has a nice family atmosphere
I like this place it's good value not fine dining
Good and generous daily menu's. Ask to be seated at the 'comedor': less noisy and warmer (in winter) than the main room
Very unfriendly owner... mainly people drinling beer and eating fries... defenrtly not worth a visit
Dont go if youre a tourist without a reservation or you'll be refused
