This is a hidden gema. My wife and I had dinner. The food was excellent and honest. Just enough care to take it above the average but no unnecessary pomp added. Authentic Spanish cuisine. But the best was the outstanding service from our waiter Miguel, nothing was too much trouble in his quest to make us feel welcome and special. Miguel is one of a dying breed of all the best in Spanish waiters,skilled, attentive, and above all professional and a real gentleman. Miguel made our visit memorable and for this I thank him.

Upon walking in I had to fight to get the attention of one of the waiters, but after asking for a table in Spanish we managed to find an excellent location outside overlooking the marina. We had tapas and all the dishes were excellent including the popular Russian salad, garlic prawns and croquettes. Our waiter spoke English but appreciated our efforts to use Spanish where possible (tip for english travellers who find themselves on the end of bad customer service too often). We'll definitely be back.

Buena experiencia tomando un aperitivo. Se encuentra en pleno puerto, con comedor interior y una terraza con vistas a la terminal de cruceros. El personal fue muy amable. De hecho,pedimos cambiarnos de sitio porque había algunas avispas en la terraza molestandonos y todo fueron facilidades por parte del camarero.

A primera linea de las embarcaciones, comedor con terraza exteriror. Dispone de menu infantil. Sitio tranquilo. Arroz caldero con pescado muy bueno, las croquetas congeladas y los chipirones correctos. Sirven vinos a copas.

8-7-2025 en el mismo Puerto de Cartagena comimos en Rte. Mare Nostrum 5 personas, 3 menú del día y 2 a la carta. El menú todo muy bueno excepto el arroz de pescado que estaba tan dulce que nos sobró todo, todo lo demás muy bueno y platos abundantes, al igual que el pan de Cádiz de postre ración cumplida. Calidad-cantidad-precio razonable y el servicio bueno. Fallo garrafal sin aire acondicionado, con 35 º y puertas y ventanas abiertas, con el viento abrasador recorriendo el comedor.

Es un restaurante elegante que está en el paseo de Alfonso XII s/n en el puerto deportivo. Hay menús diarios de Lunes a Viernes que cuestan 12€ y tienes para elegir 2 platos+1bebida+café o postre. Pedimos 2 menús y bueno la comida estaba rica, pero las cantidades un poco escasas, aunque yo me quedé bien. Probamos el mojete murciano, que es típico de la zona, y es una ensalada de tomate pelado, huevo, cebolla y aceitunas, estaba muy rico la verdad. Los servicios estaban bastante limpios, y hay para minusválidos y el personal correcto. También tienen terraza para el verano genial. Al entrar recomendaría preguntar antes porque parece que solo hay una planta y si lo ves lleno te vas, y tiene una segunda planta con otro comedor. Tiene vistas al puerto deportivo.

The building looks promising from the outside. Once you step in it doesn’t match the expectations. It looks a lot ‘cheaper’ with paper menu’s that weren’t very new any more. We ordered 3 salads and a rice dish. After ordering they brought a nice and clean tablecloth and Some bread (be aware they charge you for that, so if you don’t want to be charged refuse the bread). The salads arrived quite quickly but the rice didn’t arrive until we were finished with our salads. Salads were ok, but mostly greens, the salmon on the Mare Nostrum salad was a small portion. When we asked for the bill they added a Martini Bianco on the bill that wasn’t ours so check your bill.

Wonderful fresh seafood. The calamari was tender yet crisp. The crusty fresh baked beef was delicious. The time salad was great, and I don't usually like tomatoes. You have to end your meal with a café asiatico.

La zona está muy bien situada , pero me lo esperaba de otra manera . El camarero que nos atendió muy desagradable daba entender que no quería trabajar . Hay poca variedad de vegetariano no te dan opciones cuando realmente te las podían dar. Me lo esperaba de otra forma . Lo que estaba muy rico fue el arroz de verduras y los chopitos . Las croquetas para una persona está bien para compartir no porque hay poco . Y la ensalada de pollo estaba muy rica .

El lugar es muy agradable pero la comida deja muchísimo que desear. Pedimos la parrilla y el atun estaba durísimo y pasado. El servicio fue decepcionante ya que ni le importó nuestro comentario sobre el atún. Estando tan cerca del mar es decepcionante la calidad. Es preferible ir a comer más fresco en Cala cortina. The place is very nice BUT the food was very disappointing. We order seafood and the tuna was way overcooked. The service didn’t even care about our comments regarding the quality of the food. Being so close to the water it’s curious to see sich low quality. It’s better to eat fresh fish at Cortina Cove, a beach nearby.

Positivo: La comida buena, las mesas con mantel de tela, el personal amable. Negativo: Local un poco anticuado, si ponen un acuario para decorar y luego lo tienen descuidado y todo verde, la verdad es que desdecora, las raciones un poco escasas para el precio y es de los pocos locales que todavía tienen la ilegal costumbre de cobrar por el pan que no se ha pedido. La ley es muy clara, no se puede cobrar nada que el comensal no haya pedido. Una lastima porque cocinan muy bien.

El camarero que nos a servido pésimo, a dejado las cosas en la mesa de mala manera. Podría ser un poco más simpático ya que está cara al público, por lo demás no tengo ninguna pega.

Sin duda no recomiendo este sitio para nada, la comida está buena pero 16,50 euros por un plato de anillas de calamar rebozado (lo podéis ver en la foto) me parece excesivo, un robo. La terraza se está bien y bastante agusto pero los precios son bastante excesivos para la calidad/cantidad que te proporcionan. No volveré a repetir.

The spot is nice, but we’ve had the unwanted company of flies when dining. While the service was pretty quick, they tried billing us for poor quality bread which we didn’t ask for, and as such - took as a complimentary entree. The waiter immediately lowered the bill by the cost of the bread when the topic was mentioned. Goat cheese salad was mediocre, paella and fish were nice.

El camarero tiene pinta de amargado, no quiere trabajar y atiende muy mal. Por dos cervezas y dos marineras me han clavado 15 €, no lo recomiendo ni a mi peor enemigo. No vuelvo ni aunque me paguen.

La comida muy bien ,pero el tiempo de espera para comer fatal! Comimos a las 4 de la tarde! Por problemas ajenos al camarero jefe de sala! Me imagino que fue un día puntual por lo que pasaría de régimen interno con cocina! Calidad sí ,pero precios excesivos!!!

Deficitario servicio y pésima cocina. Una estrella únicamente por el magnífico enclave, lo único que merece la pena. Aunque nada recomendable sobretodo si vas en grupo.

Very bad service. We ordered some ice cream and drinks. The drinks arrived quite quickly, but we never got the ice cream and we desided to just pay the drinks and leave. I definetly don't recommend this place!

Seated on terrace. Waited, waited and waited for service. Ignored by one stocky unhappy looking waiter whose demeanour would sour cream. He actually waved away a polite request for a menu. Eventually caught the attention of another waiter whose demeanour brought a menu. After no further interaction we got up and left, being there a total of 40 minutes and ignored by these appalling service wonks. Terrible service, what a dump. Lovely location, staff incredibly poor. Avoid like the plague.
