Sunday dinner was kinda busy. Pretty full and only a couple of servers. They did apologize for the long wait. But food came out really good! Better to go on a week day rather than the weekend.
Kabuki Japanese Restaurant offers good, consistent Japanese food in a comfortable setting. The sushi is fresh, portions are generous, and the menu has a nice variety. Service is generally friendly and efficient, and the restaurant is clean and well maintained. It’s a reliable choice for casual Japanese dining and a place I would return to.
We had a visiting priest from Ghana so we took him to Kabuki because he’s never had Asian/Japanese food before. He reeeeally enjoyed the food and our server Marinela (Mary) was amazing. Super funny and the service was quick. Always good at Kabuki.
First time at Kabuki and will return. Had great lunch specials. I had the teriyaki beef and chicken and it was excellent. $16 with soup, salad and rice. Also had some rolls that were excellent as well. Our server was Ilene and if you have her you’ll be so lucky. She was excellent and took extremely good care of us. If you’re looking for great food, a comfortable environment and excellent service, this is the place!
Went here for lunch with my parents and had a wonderful time! Our server Katie (I believe) and the manager were lovely! We got the lunch specials (chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, shrimp & veggie tempura), all the lunch specials come with miso soup, salad & rice. HUGE portions for the price! Loved their takoyaki, the sauces were delicious. Lots of cocktails to choose from, the tiki tiki Shinjuku was recommended by Katie and was light and refreshing. California roll was good, tasted fresh. Love that their patio is dog friendly! Would recommend this place to anyone in the Valencia area :)
Great service and food. Took us in as a walk in. Accommodated our menu alteration of dessert. Big fans of the mozzarella on the salmon and shrimp sushi, tempura tacos, salmon caccitouri and the bbq ribs. Also the salad dressing was delicious. Server even asked us if we would like him to make us a drink to go.
Nice service, reasonable timing. Pretty cold inside, but they have hot sake, so either have something warm to wear or get a drink. Unless you don't get cold as easily. They bring ice water, I just can't do it... Major bummer - no WiFi. Ask about signing up for points with your phone number. Food is pretty fresh, I mostly get sashimi. Don't risk getting the fatty yellowtail belly (unfortunately), since it's one of the most dangerous parts as far as the parasites go, and the waiter was not sure whether they freeze it or not... But salmon and scallops are pretty safe. Also eel sashimi is cooked, so I get that, too. Very tasty. As far as I know, this is the only sushi restaurant in the area that actually has scallops and eel sashimi at all. Most of them have only salmon and tuna. I don't like tuna. Anyway, this is a nice place. Don't expect it to be Japan level food quality (I've been to Japan, nothing in LA compares), but it's decent. And close to home. Minus one star for no WiFi. I need WiFi, guys. Please. It would make the experience so much better for us, single diners 😀 There's NO reception inside. PS and I don't like sports on TV. Come on, you're a Japanese restaurant, show us some anime! It's good food. In my opinion.
Stopped by here to use the supercharger and needed some lunch. Inside was very pretty. However, the server seemed to be having an off day (but dont we all have those) however other reviews mention great service so perhaps this is just an edge case. Food is not the most authentic japanese food but it will get the job done. Menu features the classic american-japanese style foods such as teriyaki, ramen and sushi rolls. We got the sukiyaki and teriyaki chicken. Portions are very generous. However, the chicken was quite dry and the sukiyaki a bit too sweet for my liking.
The service was amazing. Went for sister's birthday and our server Sabrina made it a great experience. Went on a friday and they dont take reservations for friday through sunday. And even though 5/7 of the party arrived later they still seated two of us so we could begin ordering for the table. The restaurant was dimly lit and the music was low enough to hear you conversations. Tables are a bit close to each other. Although the experience was great the food was ok. Some of the sushi was a little bland, one plate that stood out was the wings on the appetizer menu.
Good food. No real complaints there. But they really struggle with speed of service. No fault to the waiters or cook staff, it all falls down to management really keeping a skeleton crew and the poor staff struggle to keep up with a full restaurant. They are kind and often apologetic. 3 stars for the food and nice staff. But a loss of 2 stars due to mismanagement of operations. Expect long waits at dinner mostly. Lunch I find rarely find too busy
We usually come here for dinner. The food is good. The only problem is everytime we come the front desk girls alwsyd have thier Phone in there hands. They need to put that phone away. We are asking them questions and they are just holding their phone in there hands. Its really annoying. You can text on your break. This is a nice restaurant
We had Valentine's dinner at Kabuki in Valencia and the experience was "good" but not great. I had a Kabuki Old Fashioned which on paper looked delicious, Whisky, Japanese black sugar...but in the glass it was no more special or distinctive than any other Old Fashioned I'd had. It was a blend of Maker's Mark Bourbon with a Japanese Whiskey. I like Maker's Mark but at a "high end" Japanese restaurant that I'm spending a lot of money on a cocktail for, go ahead and please use the nice Japanese Whiskey. Also the "Japanese Black Sugar" I was hoping would be a noticeable special ingredient and it was not. That having been said we really liked what we ordered to eat. We're vegetarians and there was also a little bit of a disappointment that some vegetarian items on their website menu didn't seem to be present on the in-store menu. Still, we did have choices and our server let us know about one item that wasn't on the menu, a Crispy Tofu roll which was a vegetarian take on a crab-cake roll. It was good. We also liked the "Green Roll." Nicely presented and tasted good too. We also shared the Curry Rice Bowl...I was lucky enough to still have a memory of having curry in Japan and the taste of this definitely reminded me of that experience. That's part of what one can hope from food...that it'll transport you to another place in your memory. Eating good food luckily can be like traveling. That just about happened here with this curry dish. We'll probably try other places before we come back, but we'd comeback.
Ordered pick up for ONLY 2 SASHIMI SALADS at 11:43. Salads are STILL not ready at 12:18. They are NOT EVEN BUSY. I’ve been sitting here in the front for 15 minutes and everyone at their tables already have their food. They’re in fact so slow that as I’m typing this a walk in party of 15 came in and was seated immediately. When I asked the host after she seated that party what was going on because 2 salads taking over half an hour is pretty crazy especially when it’s spring mix and a few pieces of fish on top. She said it was because they just seated a large party. I said “as in that party of 15 that JUST showed up AFTER my order was placed” and she said yes. What???? I said “that’s not really an excuse then right” and she said “no just sometimes our sushi chefs are really slow” so take it from the hostess herself don’t expect good service! Don’t order anything to go from here unless you want to be sitting around for no reason.
Last call for food order 43 minutes before closing time? For simple to-go order of miso soup n couple other items that doesn't always available n don't need extra cooking time.. Seriously, wasn't expecting to be turned away almost an hour before closing time. Good luck keeping this place profitable with such service
We love the happy hour here, but we went on Valentine's Day only to find out they weren't honoring their happy hour pricing because of the "holiday" despite their website saying it is everyday 3pm to close.
We usually go to the Burbank location and always have a good experience, but this was the second time we went to the Valencia location, and it will definitely be our last. My husband suddenly stopped eating and started acting strange near the end of our meal. Later, he told me he had found a perfectly cut fingernail in his sushi. It honestly looked like someone had been cutting their nails in the middle of the kitchen. He didn’t say anything right away because we were almost done eating and I was still chewing, so there wasn’t much he could do at that moment. Afterward, he went to the manager to let them know, but the manager didn’t seem to care or think it was a big deal. We actually paid the full bill and even tipped, which I still can’t believe given what happened. This was completely unacceptable, and we will never go back to this restaurant again.
Be careful when you order from here, I ordered rolls from this restaurant few times time and I got rolls with processed fish, it was not fresh and it smelled and tasted really weird and so bad. When it happened first time I was thinking it might have been accident, but it keeps happening and we get processed and old rolls when we order online. I am not trying to be rude I am just letting you know
