The food is real great the desert except. And all the workers are very nice and polite I like the idea that all wear masks and they all have gloves, especially I can't wait till they start selling tamales. Because those are really good. But they just only sell it in certain times of the month but it's coming soon😌☺️👍☺️

This is our place to go for BBQ. Sure there's other places however they're all throughout San Antonio and surrounding areas. You can always find them. We do have preferences as to the meal we choose. My wife ask, everytime, for extra lean BBQ and I prefer the BBQ chicken over their fried chicken. The fried chicken is too breaded and hardly any chicken on it. And lastly, my wife has gone for their tea. Since prices have gone up, the refill cup or bucket is recommended.

Update: My daughter and I decided to get the turkey po-boy and fries combo. The sandwich was excellent! Not sure what happened to the fries but by the time they got home, they weren't tasting 100%. Maybe because they were cold? I'm not sure. Other than that, convenient and easy to order through the drive-thru. ---break--- For the first year ever, I decided to use Bill Miller BBQ holiday meal for our family Christmas Day lunch. Ordering online was simple and pick up was a breeze. This location even answered a simple question I had prior to me picking up my order allowing me to arrive sooner. Great experience and highly recommended! The food was delicious. We were too busy enjoying it to take photos! Hopefully next year! Have a great 2025.

Real Food! This is one of the only places I've ever been that do leg quarters/pit chicken any justice. Sadly when you order bbq chicken most places they just give you a grilled chicken breast with bbq sauce on it.

Like all Bill Miller locations, the food is great and prices, although higher these last couple of years, are still reasonable. Drive thru is pretty quick. I appreciate the good service here at the Castroville location. I'm sure they're stiff competition to Sammy's across the street and Blu Lacy, although they're a slightly different type of restaurant. I try to stop by whenever I'm in town, even if just for a taco and their sweet tea. Love that it's Pumpkin pie season again!

At the drive thru menu, I did feel rushed, maybe they aren't hearing since it's pretty loud by the road. I said it's my first time can I have a minute to see what I want? And he replied, with "what do you want". But the lady at the window was super nice and the food was good. And all for under 8 bucks! Not many places can get a deal and dessert for that price. ☺️ I'll go inside if I go by again. I probably would've got brisket and some Mac n cheese if I hadn't felt a bit rushed. Btw there wasn't anyone behind me so I wasn't "wasting time" lol I think they may just hear a lot of traffic over the voices 🤷🏼‍♀️

Was on my way to Del Rio stopped in I got me some breakfast tacos. I'm glad they had this Bill Miller Castroville because I was ready to eat in the tacos were on point.

This was my first time dining at a Bill Miller's restaurant. The chicken was so good. I'm picky about my chicken, so that is a huge compliment. My kids enjoyed everything as did myself and my husband. The facility was clean and actually really calm when we arrived, so no huge crowd to get through.

I went to Bill Miller‘s for the first time visiting family that lives in San Antonio, Texas. And the food was amazing. The staff was very friendly. I can’t remember what I got, but it was delicious and I loved this soda called big red.

Bill Miller's has some of the best barbecue. The tea is excellent as well. The prices are a little pricey but well worth it..

It was good, but wish we had ketchup with our fries and no mayo for the chicken sandwich. What I mean is , it would be nice if they would ask us for any condiments. Because we had a big order and forgot to ask for it. :(

Sometimes they get it right sometimes they don’t specially when ordering the lean brisket. Corn tortillas are not the best, tent to be under cooked and take longer to make. Salads are always fresh. Staff is always friendly.

First time eating there. Beef it great like expected, but salad and rolls were awesome too. Sweet tea was fresh brewed. You get a decent amount of food for your money.

Bill Miller’s needs to consider their choice of who they have taking orders in the to-go line. I had the rudest boy taking my order. It took a lot for me not to call a manager up to the window! If there wasn’t a line of cars behind me; I would’ve! I am not sure if he was having a bad day, hated his job or what but regardless he is dealing with people and needs to learn manners! Food was good but that kid wasn’t a good way to start my morning!

Bill millers is all about one thing, consistency. Since it’s BBQ’d in one location and shipped to each restaurant, it is the same no matter where you go. Lately the food seems saltier. Over the last 4-5 visits. Possible seasoning change. Get marbled brisket if you go. A lot more flavor. They also consistently have the best Arnold Palmer you can buy.

A co-worker, my wife & I dined in to have breakfast for a change instead of ordering through the drive thru or carry out. Either methods of ordering are good ways since their service is quick & courteous. The pancakes w/ syrup, fried potatoes, homemade biscuits w/ gravy & scrambled eggs were delicious. 😋 My overall experience was very pleasant! I recommend this location to others! 👍

Food is good. But hate That they change prices and don't update the menu before implementing the changes.... So you think you are spending $8 & change for breakfast tacos and it ends up being over $10. So frustrating

I originally thought it was a sit down full service place. It's a walk up glorified counter service place. Picked up a to go order for a friend who loves the food.

Food was okay. I didn't complain because I was very hungry but the chicken tenders were dryyyyyy, the marinated onions in the restaurant were old and had no flavor it looked like they had been from a previous day and the fries were Luke warm and soggy. Bad thing about it is, one of the managers gave us our food and if he didn't see the fries and rethink giving them to me then he must have not cared. Briskwt was very salty and dry too.

Food is always good but this time my po boy sandwich bread was on the hard side and everything else was really good. The carne guisada tacos are always delicious, serive is fast and friendly. Plenty of free condiments available for your food and even with lunch rush food comes out fast. Great place.for bbq and sweet tea.

We were in the neighborhood so decided to grab breakfast. Ordered Bill Miller breakfast plate. Was told bacon was cooking it would be a few mins. Get home and discovered the bacon was only 1/2 cooked and their portion sizes are smaller than all other Bill Millers. Service was great, disappointed in the food. Will not be going back again.

It’s 4 o’clock and I’ve been in their drive thru line for over 15 minutes… usually bill millers is known for fast service but this one is the exception. If you’re in a hurry DO NOT count on the drive thru. Also, there is no way to escape the line once you’re in it. Once I saw how slow it was moving, prior to placing my order, I would’ve just left but ya had no choice but to sit in the line.

Fine service impressed this first-time visitor. Atmosphere was pleasantly quiet and appropriately "western," but not special. The food (beef brisket BBQ sandwich and 2-piece fried chicken) was filling and acceptably fresh and tasty, but not remarkable.

My first feeling was that this is not the default barbeque establishment. It is more like a fast food experience. The rodeo plat was adequate in terms of quantity but lacked seasoning. Your drink is served. No self-help here. Refill comes at a cost. I didn't leave hungry. I did leave disappointed.

Was told when I came here from Washington State that I should try this place because it's the bomb. Well I'm not native and for the price I'd say go. But if you're a true bbq loyalist, they sauce the heck out of the ribs and it's just not good to me. Even the sides needed a little help. If you catch me at this place it's to get a sausage and potato breakfast taco. But that's it, but don't take my word, try for yourself. You might like it.

I go through the drive-through here quite often. The brisket tacos are hit or miss, some days they’re great and you get more than two pieces of meat, a lot of days they’re skimpy, but this has to be the worst that it’s been for me. So disappointing today. Afraid to eat it it looks so old and dried out.

Seemed like day old fries, but when asked they brought us some fresh fries rather quick. Could've started with fresh fries. I ordered poor boy plus and my wife ordered a regular pie boy. When they brought the orders I couldn't tell which one was the plus. Same amount of meat. Shame on us for going there.

I’m very disappointed in this bill millers! I oredered a number 9 which is a crispy chicken sandwich meal my chicken was old hard burned and my gravy was cold. I went to tell the manager and she didn’t say anything just replaced it with another one. The server was apologizing which was not her fault.

Half of the brisket is just fat and not edible.

The manager on duty made it a very uncomfortable visit. She was very loud and abrasive with the employees 😟 I honestly felt sorry for them having to work for someone who treated them like that. As for the employees, they were all very kind and took our order quickly. Our food was ready fast and was made exactly how we wanted it 🤗 The restaurant itself was very clean. Kudos for how well it is organized too. However, we won't be going back anytime soon. There is no way I would sit through hearing good employees being talked to so badly.

It would really be nice to have pinto beans in my container and not just juice.

I am not really fond of their food. This is the second time we've been there and we are not going back. I got a barbecue chicken sandwich and the bun was hard as can be. My husband got chicken and the breading on it was nothing but puffed up and tasteless. I've had much better.

Stopped here on the way from San Antonio airport over to Uvalde and ordered Brisket with baked beans and Mac & Cheese and all I can say is 'Meh'? Staff was very friendly and fast, and the interior has some interesting western decorations, but the food was just OK. It's the whole "you get what you pay for" story. I'd recommend other BBQ places closer to San Antonio which have much better food.

First time to Bill Millers. There were four people seated in the dining area. Not busy. I placed a family order in the store fore take out. Waited a short time and received our order. Having read a previous review noting the tendency to leave items out of orders, we checked our order but not completely emptying the bag. MISTAKE. Ten miles home and set the food for our guests and half of our meat was left out of the order. I called the store and manager took the info and apologized. His fix was for me to drive another 20 miles to correct their mistake. Delivery was not an option according w him. I’m am going back today to complete my order and see what his fix is. Not impressed so far. DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT COMPLETELY CHECKING YOUR ORDER. Added info: Drove the 20 miles round trip. Manager completed my order and offered a dessert or drink to make up for the increase. I accepted a large iced tea. When I got home the ribs were delicious. No complaints there. Not sure how the manager sorted out that he had satisfied a first time customer. Food WAS good but service is not their strong suit. I will probably go back but armed with the knowledge of the risk at had. Would I recommend? With an explicit warning about their lack of attention to detail and understanding of how to recover from poor service.

The brisket plate had 3 very small fatty pieces of brisket. The turkey was probably the best out of everything we got. But honestly it was not good. No condiments in bag. No napkins. No utensils. Sides were not good. We had Mac n cheese, French Fries, pinto beans and green beans. The chicken strips were terrible.

They forgot our gravy for our #4 meal and more than half of the brisket on my meal was just fat trimmings as shown in the picture.

3 times I have complained about order being shorted or barely any substance in your taco to management then twice to corporate, and nothing gets done. 4 pieces of meat in a $2.89 taco does not qualify as a taco but a rip off. No egg in a brisket and egg taco qualifies as a rip off. They've lost our business for sure. Be aware and check your drive thru before leaving.

I posted a year ago how wonderful it was to have Bill Millers here in a small town. Put my foot in my mouth. This place has sunk in the Quality of food. Hashbrowns look old, scraped up from leftovers from a day ago. They're Always forgetting something for my order or just basically gets it wrong. I don't know why I torture myself by keep going to this place. Church's Chicken opening soon. Can't wait. I'd rather get day old sandwich from the gas station. Get your act together Bill Millers!

Against my better judgement I ordered the chopped on bun. Got home to find a very messy & sloppy mess of a sandwich, if you can call it that. WILL NOT make that mistake twice.

I love Bill Millers but this location is not that great. The customer service was unpleasant. I was with 2 other people and went around 8:20pm on a Thursday. We dined in. Waited..waited..and waited. They literally FORGOT about our order. I finally got up after 20 minutes of waiting for our food. Took another 5 minutes just to get someone to notice/help me at the front register. He asked what we ordered and we got a #2, #4, and a 4 piece chicken meal. That took like another 10 minutes to get our food. We ended up getting our food to go at this point. The guy that helped apologized but wasn't even sincere about it. He asked if we wanted anything on them (Ex. Brownies, pies, fries, etc.). I was so over waiting and didn't even want to wait anymore so as much as I would have taken it I didn't want it. I went home and the food is cold! As I was eating my chicken I noticed flour on it. I assume it's from the batter. By this time they are closed and I can't do anything about it. 😤😮‍💨

I don’t know what it is every time I go to the drive-through they always mess up on my meal And it’s not that complicated either they are rushing it too fast or someone is messing up on the order order. It’s crazy. I haven’t every time I go over. Smh

The Poor Boys are smaller than before. And costs more for less. The soft drinks tasted terrible. When drinking I ate a piece of ice and come to find out it was the ice that tasted horrible.

Bought $48 worth of fish and they shorted the order and the fish wasn't cooked correctly. I called to let them know they we only could eat part of the dinner as fish wasn't good to eat, the "manager " said we can comp you A meal. I said I wanted refund he replied that they wont do that. They lost a longtime and frequent customer.

Poor quality food and service. Our order was incorrect and had to wait a very long time for the correct food. I asked for a free chocolate milk to drink with my correct food but was asked to pay for it. Offering the free chocolate milk would have made a big difference. Customer service training is needed.

Disappointed with my order today. I order the chop sandwiches- it barely had at meat in it. I didn’t even get any pickles and onions inside of the sandwich which I thought was a normal thing for it to come with. I didn’t ask for the to remove the onions and pickles. I didn’t even get any in the small bags like they also usually do. Just taste like I’m eating moist bread.

Absolutely the worst restaurant in Castroville! If you want a beyond RUDE experience, and if you want your order wrong, go here. I placed my order in the drive-thru. Asked the incompetent RUDE employee to repeat my order. Her response was; “you’ll get it at the window “. I asked her again and explained that they normally always mess up my order. Once again, very RUDE…. Her response was, “I already told you you’ll hear it at the window “. I drove up and asked the other employee for the girls name. He told me he wasn’t allowed to give out her name. She laughed at me and made a confrontational face. I told the other employee to get a manager. As the manager stood there talking to me, the RUDE employee stood behind him laughing. When I pointed out to him what she was doing, he told her to get away from the area. And assured me he would have her reprimanded. Once I got my order, I drove off, only to find out my order was wrong. I turned back and went back to let them know . When I drove up….. that same RUDE employee was there again. Which leads me to believe that she was never reprimanded for her actions . I repeated my order. They handed me my order and assured me it was correct. As I drove off…. I checked the bag…. Only to find out….. ONCE AGAIN IT WAS WRONG!!!!! This place is a joke! You literally have to have zero qualifications to work here. And poor work ethics.

Constant problems with this location. Every time we order our Chicken De Lites, Bone In, we get them and the chicken is shredded. This time, I even emphasized to please leave the chicken bone in and on the side, separate from the salad. Once again, they send it out the window, shredded and on the salad. I asked them to correct it, they made me pull to the side, while 3 girls are at the window flirting with a vehicle of boys that have drove up next to the drive through. I’ve been there for 30 minutes now, the food finally comes out, it’s a small bag. They had shoved 2 full salads and a hot plastic bag of chicken in a small bag together. Both salads are completely wilted and gross. It took another 15 minutes for me to have the manager come out, very young and unsure of himself, that really didn’t act concerned about his employees actions, to get me 2 new un wilted salads. I’m Just done with this location, we have never had this kind of problem at any other.

Bill Miller's has really has went down the drain compare what it use to be. Since the original owner passed away. Who ever is the CEO is need to step up his game with quality control. I've grown up eating at Bill Miller's. Now the only that worth getting is the tea. The brisket was very dry and had absolutely no taste to it . The fries were little cardboard. I gave to my do6g they wouldn't even eat it. Common Bill Miller's you need step up your game.

I'll preface this with...I should have gone inside... but in get in the drive thru line for a refill of tea...no big deal. They were not taking the vehicle's up 2 cars from me order. All in all a good 20 minutes in line. I FINALLY get to the window...just to be IGNORED. A fricken refill of tea...nothing to get ready...nothing to package...just be at the window...take my cup...refill...charge...that's it. Workers heard me complaining...and not a one tried to address anything. My thought was...the MANAGER needs training more so than the young school-aged window worker.

This bill millers has gone downhill. Here’s my breakfast taco not even a tablespoon of eggs, burnt bacon, burnt tortilla chunk of cheese off to the side. DISGUSTING!!!!

Spent 38$ for overcooked chicken strips and fried chicken. The fries were undercooked and had a fishy after taste. They are quick to give your order to you but obviously hurting on the quality. The only thing that was ok was the tea.

My stepdad and I visited castroville bill Miller bbq today. He ordered the 2 meat and three sides meal. I ordered the 1 meat and three sides meal. The cashier was pushy, impatient and had a poor attitude. My stepfather is 74 years old can’t hear well. She seemed impatient and inconsiderate. My meal (the #3) is posted as $11.40. We paid for it and I noticed the receipt showed $12.10 for the #3. So I asked someone about it. He informed me because I chose Mac N Cheese as a side I was up charged 70 cents. I asked where that was posted on the menu and he couldn’t find it. I found it written in light red lettering under the sides on the menu display. I had to look close to make out what it said. Not only is this a misleading and shady business practice, but the guy I questioned had the attitude of “it’s posted, you should have read the fine print”. Additionally, The food wasn’t fit for a dog. The brisket was dried out and tasted like it was three days old and microwaved and The Mac and cheese tasted like mushy baby food. Overall this was probably one of my worst restaurant experiences in some time. I will never return to any bill millers location and I will be certain to share this awful experience with others.

Chicken fried steak and sausage were tough, gravy was unflavored and near paste stage, coleslaw was awful, fries were the standard frozen fries and the bread was cold. And you couldn’t hardly get any more customers in there and there was a line around the building for the drive up…I think people will eat anything. My husband says I am a food snob but I think I just like good food and even he said that wasn’t good.

Went thru castroville today and could have stopped at bushes chicken.. Ended up at bm and they were so disrespectful. Will never be back.

Wnet in the restaurant at 6:03 pm. When I was about to pay for a 10pc. family meal fried chicken a worker comes from the back kitchen and tells cashier tell her it's all going to be all dark meat. I ask cashier what did he say she said we only have dark meat. I ask her how long for the white meat she comes back and says 23min. There was another couple waiting for a 3pc white meat chicken meal. So they make the white meat chicken when you order expect a 23m9n wait for white meat chicken. The manager did not say a word she just erased the $33 I was going to pay from the register. The worst Bill Miller ever!

My family and I have come to bill millers for years. This has been the most disappointing and frustrating order EVER. Not only did they get my order wrong, they forgot my 10 piece chicken, which I then had to drive 20 mins back to get “fresh chicken”. Only to get there and find the chicken was wrong- ( I specified dark meat only) the box was completely torn and broken on the bottom. EXTREMELY Dissatisfied and disappointed with both the employees and management. Do better.

Every time I go through the drive through I always order the number one with sauce on the side and everytime I get my food they never put the sauce on the side. It’s not a rare occasion either there have been countless times where I go inside to tell them I asked for it to be on the side. In all respect if I order something I expect it to be right or for the person taking my order to write it down and make sure it’s right .

I don't know if it's the chain Bill Miller's that's gone down so badly in quality or just mine in Castroville. The Food especially the fries always taste old and hard like they been sitting out all day. The brisket taste salty most of the time. I have to agree with some of the other reviews the workers almost always get the order wrong and you always must double check your food before you leave the parking lot, because I can't count how many trips I have made back to complain that my order was wrong or missing something. It's very sad, I always say I'll never go back, but not much choices here in town for eating options.
