Ah, a hidden gem in the galaxy, this place is. Astonishing, it is, that but 30 reviews it has, for much greater recognition it deserves. Generous, the value is—truly a deal not to be overlooked. The "Pick 3" lunch, I chose, for 20.99 credits. Chicken, the Volcano Roll, and the Viva Las Vegas Roll, my selections were. Accompanied, they were, by veggie tempura, miso soup, rice, and salad. Large, the portions were. Satisfying, the flavors—each bite, a journey through the Force itself. Especially strong with the Force, the rolls were—fresh, vibrant, and masterfully crafted. For those seeking a lighter path, the "Pick 2" option exists, at 17.99 credits—a wise choice for balance, it is. Recommend it, I do. Visit this place, you must!

Sushi was top notch, fatty salmon, yellowtail, uni. Poke bowl was a piece of art. Sushi shed took his job seriously and staff was friendly. It one of those strip mall sushi places that shows up the fancy places. I'd make this a regular spot if I lived close....and it will be my stopping spot whenever I head to Monterey.

We went to this place because we wanted sushi and it had a good rating. That said, being from out of state headed to Monterey we didn't know that Castroville is not a place a lot of folks familiar with the route to Monterey would stop. THINK AGAIN. If you want Asian food or specifically Sushi, OMG the Chef/owner prepares generous portions that are Outstanding. The place is in a shopping center and the exterior was a little tired. Then we walked in and the interior felt a little cramped, but the dining area was clean. So the atmosphere isn't special. However, the food and the service was worth the time to pull off the main drag and have a filling meal at a great price 👍

Hanabi in Castroville is a hidden gem! This small restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and provides excellent customer service, making you feel right at home. One of the highlights of our visit was the presentation of the sushi. They delivered it in a beautiful boat, which added a lovely aesthetic touch to the dining experience. The sushi itself was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. I would easily rate Hanabi as one of my top 3 sushi spots. If you're a sushi lover, this place is a must-visit. Great food, warm ambiance, and fantastic service make Hanabi a standout. Highly recommend!

Wow wow wow. The best food comes from the most unassuming places. I know this may sound silly but I judge a sushi joint on Kama. The hamachi Kama was some of the best I’ve ever had. Dinner sized portion, perfectly cooked, served with a side salad that all I can say had the best and most unique dressing, horchata-esque in the best way. You can get fresh, creative sushi rolls AND a michelada? AND complementary miso soup? No where else but Castroville. 10/10.

I've never had such an experience like I've had here, and it's so close to home! This was truly amazing in all ways, the food was spectacular. I had an AMAZING roll called the Viva Las Vegas Roll which is a MUST try! This place is so good I just went here yesterday and I'm going back again today to try another roll! My boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki on a hot skillet, we also got edemame as an appetizer. As well as some hot sake, every bite and sip was enjoyable. MUST EAT HERE!!!!

HOW I LOVE THIS PLACE! Amazing food! Amazing customer service! The art in that place is sooo breath taking! The food does come in a big portion, but you pay for what you get! If I do say so myself. I think it’s worth it! Sushi chiefs are great at making the sushi look beautiful and tasty! They don’t have much for birthdays or desserts but they did do me a “Happy B-Day” on my plate which I think was sooo funny and thoughtful. I recommend 100%! That cute, funny, waiter with the slick back hair call me!;)

I love the California rolls from here I would eat them everyday and it’s not even that expensive. The place is beautiful it might be small but I personally like it. Service was good, honestly people aren’t that talkative but I think that’s what makes me feel comfortable there

This place is amazing! The food was delicious, and everything tasted very fresh. We got the Gyoza, three rolls and the red tuna nigiri. The fish was fresh and none of the raw items tasted fishy at all. The gyoza were super juicy and crispy. Plus you get a free bowl of delicious miso soup! The customer service here is amazing too. The staff are kind, curious and super attentive. The atmosphere inside is really chill. Everything was really fairly priced for the portion sizes you get. If we weren’t from out of town, we’d be coming back here at least twice a month.

Hanabi is a Mexican restaurant that serves Japanese inspired food with a Mexican flair. The food like the teriyaki etc isn't anything like authentic Japanese food. I am Japanese and am very particular to quality Japanese food and Hanabi is below average. The sushi is fusion style with strange sauces and just wasn't my thing but those unfamiliar with sushi probably like it. The customer service wasn't the best and I believe the waitress who appeared to be Hispanic was somewhat prejudice. I think this restaurant maybe good for people who aren't Japanese. I personally will not return.

So it is possible to create delicious sushi without cream cheese and hot Cheetos. But if you pile trash on your food, you might enjoy it, otherwise the sashimi is fresh.
