2 excellent meals. Sunday lunch and steak and kidney pie. Large portions and piping hot. Sadly we have moved on but will return when next in the region

After sampling many hundreds of cooked breakfasts across the region my wife declared this to be the best. Quality, temperature and by all measures she was impressed. The coffee was served piping hot which is not always the case these days. And the jovial owner requested a special mention to his recently shaped eyebrows!!!! lol. Go see for yourself. Highly recommended. Will be back.

The fish and chips here are delicious. The chips are real home made chips and the fish just melts in your mouth! Not forgetting the great mussy peas too. Staff are friendly and helpful and as we usually get ours to take away we usually have a drink whilst we wait, lots to choose from including soft drinks, hot drinks, beer and alcohol free. They also offer a free delivery service too.

Had a gorgeous breakfast here this morning highly recommended. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The place is lovely very cosy and lovely and warm inside.. outside is an enormous covered terrace, even dogs welcome. Definitely be going again

Had a brilliant English Breakfast this morning. We went for the large breakfast which is 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, hash brown, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast. Really enjoyed it and staff very friendly. Don't know how to add the photo !

We come here on a regular basis for Sunday lunch always beautifully cooked and really friendly service. It's a good atmosphere and always busy. I would advise that you book for Sunday lunch.

I found this place by chance a couple of months ago, it´s a real authentic Chippy. Great crispy Cod (cooked to order) n Chips, mushy peas and the genuine taste of chip shop curry exactly like my local Chippy back home. A genuine taste of home here in Catral served with a smile. Have taken many Spanish friends and they all love this place.

Stopped by for dinner & drinks with the family. Yummy food & great service. We were all made very welcome & we enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. Nearly won €500 in the competition 😀

Great pub with great prices on food & drink, very popular with football t.v and quiz nights.

We've been several times and watched the EFL playoff final there. Great friendly bar staff and decent beer. Sometimes it's a bit empty between functions, but it's nice not to have to shout to be heard. We'll be in to try some food shortly.

Lovely meal great service reasonable price. Sunday roast, gammon, cabbage, carrots ,Brocolli, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding stuffing ball, roast potatoes mash potatoes.. Great starter and dessert ,8.95.

Great British style pub in Catral. very extensive British style menu. friendly staff but bar service can be a little slow so be patient. in particular I would 100% recommend their fish, chips & mushy peas, the quality of the fish and proper chips is top notch and the portion sizes are large and the price is very reasonable.

This is, without any doubt in my mind, one of the best pubs I have ever visited.....and the food and choices of such is top notch....and you must try one of their Steak and Stilton pies!! The Staff are (or seem lol) to be very happy in working there and that happiness does shine through...and the banter is also top notch...and that, to me, is important. Customers are treated as friends and not just 'cash cows'..

Mocht je de patatas Bravas,tortilla en Jamon zat zijn en gezellig met hond naar de kroeg willen,dan zit je hier helemaal op je plek. Je kunt binnen en buiten zitten. Het is ook nog spotgoedkoop. Op menukaart ontbreekt wel een gedeelte waar je de honden blij mee zou kunnen maken. Wij hebben geïmproviseerd en dat ging prima.

We had Sunday for six I had the prawn cocktail it's very good we nearly had a selection of all the meat selection it's delicious also a very good selection of vegitables a Yorkshire pudding roasted potatoes and mash potatoes with as much gravy as you like. We all don't have dessert but those who did really enjoy it and there was a good selection

Great food, everything is done freshly the moment you order, affordable prices, lovely clean chippy, fantastic service always with a smile. Didn't leave hungry at all! Our first time today but it certainly won't be our last. A visit that must be done !! Photos below are the kfc burger and cod ! Then the Syrup sponge with ice-cream. To die for!!

They do amazing fish and chips. Normally they charge €7.95 which is a good price, but on a Wednesday they do a special price for only €5.95. Nice large piece of fish with moist flaky fish. Not the often dry rubbish sold elsewhere. Puts ALL of Ireland to shame as they have no clue how to make fish and chips anywhere there. I got mine take away, but there were loads of people sitting inside and all of them were eating fish and chips.

Ein gemütliches englisches Restaurant/Pub mit umfangreicher, abwechslungsreicher Speisekarte. Wir waren schon zweimal zum essen dort. Es gibt Motto-Tage wie mittwochs Fisch und Chips (sehr empfehlenswert) alles wird frisch zubereitet und schmeckt sehr gut, die Portionsgrößen sind klasse, die Preise ebenfalls. Das Personal ist freundlich und fix. Man holt sich die Getränke selbst an der Bar ab und bestellt dort das Essen, dieses wird dann an den Tisch gebracht. Die Desserts sind auch super lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder 😊 😊

Lovely place & very friendly staff. my group wentt outside after our food as there was a nice breeze, the only problem was the staff smoked within the covered area outside near us which wasn't pleasant for us non smokers.

This is a typical British pub setting. This was the first time we had visited. The virus restrictions have taken their toll. Only half of the menu was available. We ordered meat pies. They were of good quality and a good size.. Overall not a bad effort by the owners to maintain standards under difficult conditions.

Food good but service leaves a lot to be desired. Stood at bar for over 5 minutes before someone appeared from the kitchen to take our order. No apology offered. This is not the first time this has happened. Doubtful if we'll return.

First time visit and enjoyed the experience. Good choice of British food . Fish and chips was a good choice . Very busy on a Monday night for a really good quiz

Kommen gerne wieder. Zum ersten Mal waren wir letzte Woche enttäuscht. Wir haben auf das Tagesessen über 1 Std. gewartet, obwohl es nur Reis mit Curry Fleisch gab. Normalerweise geht ein Tagesessen bei Allen schneller.

Great little pub with some really tasty pub grub in Catral. I've been to eat Sunday lunch here several times and I thoroughly recommend it. It's like your mum has made it. Delicious. Staff are always friendly and helpful even when it's very busy.

Friendly and lovely staff. Best to time to go is afternoon to catch the afternoon sun and enjoy a refreshing drink and bite to eat.

Nice fish & chips freshly cooked by the friendly fryer. The menu is quite extensive and our vegetarian friend was also able to find a suitable meal. Update: We made a return visit to eat in and thoroughly enjoyed our haddock & chips. Great food, friendly service.😊😊

Other than requiring a little freshen up on the decor etc .....it's all that you would want from a traditional English pub / restaurant. A decent pint, friendly bar-staff, enough clientele to give it a good vibe and a good selection of hearty food.

This more like a traditional English pub than a typical Spanish bar, and they also sell real ale which is brewed in Spain which is OK but not the same as UK real ale. I found that there prices are higher than local bars. Food is good if you like traditional English food.

Following a superb fish and chips experience, we decided to check our their Sunday Roast. All the veg was put on the plates, (I don't like ALL veg). The Yorkshire puds were rubbery and the gravy was thick and gloopy. The service was good though so, sorry but won't be visiting again.

Feels like a proper British pub, staff are very friendly and know how to serve a decent pint. Unfortunately the Sunday roast wasn't great the gravy was gluteness the roast potato isn't roasted and served with an aunt Bessie's style Yorkshire pudding. It's cheap though I'd rather pay more for less.

Had takeaway tonight two cod, overcooked,dry and little fish in very heavy and greasy batter. Not impressed at all. Previous visits have been good but this was terrible.

Phoned for pickup and still had to wait 20mins when I arrived. The fish was very boney and my father in law of 84, was ill after eating a battered sausage. The 'kebab' was a small amount of wafer thin sliced chicken on a mound of chips, the chicken didn't taste very nice. Not going there again.

We got a takeaway. It was very quiet and the large fryer was not in operation. The fish was vey overcooked, had been warmed up and smelt overly fishy. It did not taste right so went in bin. This was dissapointing as we gave it a go as it was good on the tapas trail when the fish was fresh.

Having been to the Dog and Firkin 3 weeks ago to sample 1 of there wonderful pies, which we enjoyed immensely. On our return to try Sunday dinner have to say we where very disappointed with both the meal and the service. A lot of the food was only luke warm and the cauliflower cheese was inedible. Service was very slow and unhelpful. Sorry to say will not be back.

Tiene muy buen aspecto. Está muy limpio. Aseos y terraza limpísimos. Mucha gente en terraza. Pero un tremendo problema, desconocen cualquier idioma que no sea el inglés, con lo cual hasta es difícil tomar patatas fritas, puesto que ya mi poco manejo del inglés es muy escaso. Todo estaba lleno de ingleses tomando suculentos platos a su estilo y grandes cervezas y nosotros una caña y agua mineral y yo un sándwich de atún y tomate y sin mayonesa ni tostar, precio alto para la consumición. Lo siento, es muy bonito, pero necesario el inglés y yo manejo francés y italiano bastante. Gracias en cualquier caso por su atención.

Don’t be fooled, no real ale here. Older woman and younger girl behind bar need to be a damn more pleasant especially to new customers. Cracked and dirty glasses are standard, older woman didn’t seem interested when we told her. Peculiar smell in the pub, will not be returning and won’t recommend.

Was really looking forward to our Sunday lunch but was left so disappointed. My vegetarian pie (heated in microwave so pasty ends up like rubber) came with a tiny portion of vegetables and a pig in blanket! My partner and our friends had the roast dinner and were not impressed. The girl serving us was pleasant and apologetic regarding my vegetarian meal having the bacon and sausage on it. She took my whole meal off the bill.( Nice gesture) she apologized because they were working short staffed( to minimise covid contamination) They didn't minimise the amount of customers and I felt the owners were more bothered maximizing their profit at the expense of quality of food and service ( can't run a pub with 3 staff!. Will not eat here again but would like to praise the girl who served us she was stressed out and rushed off her feet but still was attentive and very pleasant.

Rough and ready, but half decent food

Booked table online & received confirmation of booking. Arrived at restaurant to find booking wasn’t in the book. At this stage we should have taken it as an omen & gone elsewhere. We were not asked for our COVID certificates despite it being a legal requirement. Sat at table & were given starter choices - all 4 of us decided on same stater to then be told that wasn’t available. Then ordered 3 of the mushroom starters plus a vegetable soup. Took 35 minutes for them to arrive 4 mushrooms no soup. Main courses we ordered 3 gammon & 1 pork another 40 minutes elapsed before the mains arrived - 2 pork & 2 gammon. Finally we ordered 2 cheesecake & 1 bread & butter pudding for dessert. One of the cheesecake looked as though it had been dropped from a height, totally mushed. The bread & butter pudding had been microwaved to heat it & half was inedible as it was solid. A total disappointment from a restaurant we had been recommended to try. The service was abysmal - 3 hours for lunch, hate to think what it would have been like had the restaurant been busy. Definitely would not recommend .

Visited today for breakfast , stood at the counter,the girl behind the bar walked straight past me carrying a coffee without as much as glimmer of recognition. On her return, again not so much as a moment of life from her. I can only apologise for being there and upsetting her for any reason. However to save her going to customer service classes I will not use the establishment again.
