The food was so good and they speak both Spanish and English they don’t take long to cook the food. the food is supper good too and I would recommend trying the doble meat hamburger it’s really good and fills your stomach perfectly! I would 100% recommend to stop by and eat there!

Excellent veggie burger (from when I was vegetarian) My usual order as an omnivore is the double cheese burger with the grilled onions and a small fries. Small fries becuase they are so good I eat them all regardless of satiety status then I feel sick. 😂 One of my fave items is the “Hippiecrit” burger that is a veggie burger with bacon. 😂😂😂 Dunno who wrote the bad review about the fried but there are most certainly NOT bland and they are super crispy and light. Ask for extra special sauce to dip them in. Their special sauce is 🔥🔥🔥🔥. So good. I’d like to say I’ve tried other things but the burgers are so good it’s all I ever get. Don’t listen to the haters - this place is BOMB.

The flame broiled bacon cheeseburger is the best bcb in all of Marin. Combined with their crinkle-cut French fries & soda, this is a go-to meal full of flavor, comfort and yum. Good price, fast service and lots of parking and indoor/outdoor seating.

I really like the new garlic fries. The burgers are belly busters. If you're on a diet, you might want to pass this one up. The only thing keeping them from a 5 star rating is the"cash only" policy. Seriously, start taking plastic. Please.

Yummy burgers. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is that the menu was not clear about gluten-free options. I would have ordered my burger wrapped in lettuce if I had known it was an option. It was too late to fix this once I saw someone else being served in a lettuce wrap.

I really like M+G Burgers, but one big bummer is that they do not accept cards, so you have to have cash, or use the expensive ATM. Kind of ridiculous in this day amd age. But good food and good service.

Simple, classic, great burgers. M & G are hard to beat, which is why they're frequently busy, even during slower hours. However, they're also cash-only, so beware before placing your order!

Ate here when I was nearby for lunch time working cable installation, and it was always kinda hit or miss. I only ever got the burgers, but strangely found out one day that the plain hamburger is better than the bacon cheeseburger or plain cheeseburger. I have no idea why, and it's false everywhere else, but strangely the case here. Fries are so so, usually too soft for me. Everyone complaining about wait times I guess doesn't have a working pair of eyeballs that can see there's usually one guy working the register/shakes/etc, and one guy in the kitchen that's about the size of a closet. Almost always a few people ahead of me when I go. Wait times aren't ridiculous, but they can take 15 minutes which is a long time if you only have 30 for lunch. Dining inside is tiny too, but there's a small outdoor area too. Parking lot is super tiny, and it's Fairfax, so good luck with parking. Hispanic guy who is always there is cool enough, even took my order and got it started when I realized this place was cash only (oh no no no no, cmon get with the times. That's ridiculous) and had to run to the bank down the street to get some cash. Nice guy but always seemed overworked. Food is ok, a little too expensive, but still better than any McDonald's or fast food place.

M&G has become our Thursday night dinner place. I've been coming here for years & still enjoy good quality food & a blast from the past decor. They do Prather Ranch burgers for my guy & chicken burger for me. Reasonable prices, yummy burgers, fries & milkshakes. It's always clean too.

Surprised at how affordable it was, for Marin County. They whipped together some off-menu chili cheese fries that were scrumptious. My husband complained about his BBQ burger, but I had a taste and IDK what he thought was wrong with it. Very clean restaurant and friendly, speedy service.

I was told they had the best shakes in town and was not disappointed when I sipped that oreo shake after a hard day of work! The staff was properly masked and I felt safe to be dining in the small indoor area they had. Will definitely come back.

is there some reason why the guy behind the counter keeps overcharging me for a #4 meal (not the owner, but the other guy). Also, why your prices keep going up (Last time I was there only about a month ago and it was $1 less). Twice, now, I have been overcharged for a #4 meal, by the same guy. First it was $16 and today it was $17 ($15.25 + 1.37 Fairfax Sales Tax = $16.62, not $17 which is what I was charged). Sales Tax in Fairfax is 9%, so why is he overcharging me 38 cents?

Place is historic and many already said. The food quality has deteriorated since the early 2000,s when it was the place to go. The kitchen is always clean every time I visited even when they are swamped. The back storage area and for prep is another story, it seems as if it got stuck in the 70's and nobody cares. This place needs an overhaul desperately the front can stay as funky as it represents the historic transition if time , but the rest got to go even if it is one section at the time. Oh yes and the cash only it's a big turn off specially cause they don't have a ATM machine there.

It’s nice that they still have a thinner patty but the meat almost tastes like the Costco beef patties, not that that’s bad, but I was hoping for something a little more unique.

If you are in the mood for an average burger and some Ore Ida fries, this is the place to go. This place is a Fairfax tradition, so for that reason I would give it 3 stars. However they are still cash only, and the inconvenience of having to grab cash makes the food and experience not worth going at all. There are other Fairfax icons that offer better burgers.

Pricy without being worth it. almost $10 for m fries and a m shake. Shake was not very good it just tasted like milk with a little sugar. I didn’t even drink half. Fries were okay but nothing special.

Burgers are dry and yet sloppy. Shakes are ok. Fries are so-so. Have lived here for a long time, and rarely go to M&G because I'm always dissapointed. Tried them again last week, just in case things got better, but sadly not. From a value standpoint they are one star. Pricey for poor quality. Even Shake Shack is better, or In and Out. Phyllis's puts them to shame.

I ordered a med rare grass-fed burger plus fries = $14. The fries were good, crisp, but over-salted. The burger was terrible! Unfortunately— gray and overcooked, the whole sandwich was dry and flavorless. I was disappointed, esp because I splurged on greass-fed.

The food is great but Gonzalo the front desk person that takes orders hung up on me bc I was confused about prices as he says the prices on the website have not been updated in TEN YEARS he is also rude to children when they order as he’s unhinged and should not be working customer service. He hung up on me when I was trying to order and purchase food!

I got food poisoning from this restaurant and I do not recommend eating here. I had a Cheeseburger on Tuesday, May 16th, my wife had a Garden Burger, my friend had a Ring burger, and we all shared regular and garlic fries. I started feeling ill a few hours later and proceeded to have severe GI issues for 48 hours and was on my couch for that entire time. I am just now starting to feel better and luckily my wife and friend didn’t get sick. After sharing my story privately with friends, one of them mentioned they got food poisoning here 6 months ago. This compelled me to write this public review and also report the food borne illness incident to Marin Food Services department to support the safety of my community.
